Happy hump day, m'dears! It feels so darn good to stretch my muscles a bit more each day. I did call the Dr and yup, the stitches will dissolve. I got the compression socks that I ordered and they are really cute. One pair has hearts, another has skulls, and the last have pawprints! I guess if I have to look odd wearing them, I might as well look like an adorable dork. :D

I was happy to go upstairs and play with the rats a bit. I was getting so many licks from them. They make me so happy. I also cooked part of dinner. I made baked macaroni and Gary and tag-teamed with the prep.
Unfortunately, in the midst of that, Caitlyn needed to print questionnaires for the Memory Research Experiment that she is running today and the printer finally died. It was an old laser printer and had been breaking down over the last few years. Thankfully, Gary found one at Staples.com for $100. He ordered it and Scott drove down to pick it up. Gary got it working and Cait killed a billion trees printing everything. heh.

Today I think I am going to be able to finish the puzzle I am working on, plus I started a LO for a Challenge that should be able to be uploaded too.

Uh-oh! Caitlyn has been texting me that the professor for the class that she is running the experiment on isn't there yet and the class thinks that she is a substitute professor. All of that is making her nervous so I have been texting her pics of the dogs. :pupkiss:
Anyway-- hugs to all of you today!

Trudy- it always amazes me that people can burn brush and trash in their yards. It is illegal in NJ. Good thing too because I can't imagine how irritating it would be.
I loved the last painting that you posted on FB, I would have a hard time parting with that too. Enjoy your pedicure with your sisters!
I can't wait to get outside too- maybe this weekend!!

Felis- I think that is what was so sad for me with Norte Dame - the loss of history. But it looks like much more will be saved than how it looked on Monday. I truly hope!
I hope that you feel happier today!

Jean- wow!! Great news that your computer is back a bit, even if only to give you time to get it all backed up. That reminds me that I should check to see how the back up of my stuff is, make sure that I am up today.

Karen- that's too bad about getting the pee spot turned down. Sounds like it would have been more aesthetically pleasing than dead grass. what about that fake plastic grass? I have heard of people using that in apartments in bad weather.

Felis- I haven't watched one episode of GoT either. Gary said that he tried to watch it the other night, got about 15 minutes in and said that it wasn't for him. Said it definitely wasn't for me either, something about an animal scene right off the bat.
I grabbed that 52 kit-- yeah, it is all good advice for me as hard as it is for me to take. LOL

Cait texted, her experiment is all done and now she comes home to analyze the data. Whew!

Somehow I missed posting here yesterday. I had a lot going on. I called the Yard people and a fellow came over late yesterday afternoon to take a look. I was pleased to hear that they don't do monthly/bi-monthly maintenance but come when they are needed. He is suppose to be sending me an estimate on cleaning up the weeds and debris, trimming bushes, etc... plus check that all the drip system is working like it should. I also asked for a separate bid on replacing one of the trees in front with a Graywood Ash tree [for more shade - it is the one further away from the driveway]. BTW, Felis... we live in a semi-arid desert so most of the yards don't have grass as our community has a restriction on grass which takes a lot more water. Rather we have different colored rocks to create visual areas.

Oooops... I hit post before I was done. LOL

Chris, after looking at the new 52 Inspiration for this week, I agree with Felis. That one fits you so well.... SLOW DOWN. :bounce: Your new socks sound so neat!! I agree with Gary... GoT is not for me. I tried reading the books, but got turned off due to all the violence in it.

I also spent a lot of time yesterday working on commitments that had to be done. Got caught up on them finally by late afternoon. Guess I am not quite over whatever had me down last week as the throat was scratchy again yesterday and I was cold all day. I was bundled up in a fleece sweatshirt again even though the temp was 76!

Karen, sorry the complex turned down your bid for a pee-spot. Hope you find a spot for his business that he will accept.

Jean, glad that your table is working again. Hope you were able to get all your scrapping stuff back-up off of it while it is still working.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning everyone! It is going to be a day of mixed weather as the sun is shining but it is also raining at the same time :loco: Lots of dark clouds in the distance, but I hope it will not be pouring rain when I meet up with my sisters today! Happy to see the Rhodos are starting to bloom across the street from us, but mine will be slower as we do not get the sunshine like they do. I need to get a photo of the new Azalea we planted, it is blooming now and they don't last too long, so I better be quick about it LOL. DH is home again today as he has two drs. appts. Back to the eye dr for a check on his cataract removal (he is doing very well and enjoying his improved vision!) Then a quick scan of his stomach, he has been on Nexium for years and they want to see if its doing anything bad I guess? :noidea: Then he goes to work tomorrow and off work on Friday for the long Easter weekend. I think he would like it if he could work three days a week all the time!

Chris - Glad that the stitches will dissolve and hopefully you are not to itchy!! The compression socks sound cute, you should make a layout about them LOL. Yes it is awful that they allow burning here, it is restricted to only a few days a couple of times a year and only in certain areas, but who is going to enforce it?? The police certainly have more important things to deal with everyone knows that so they burn whenever they want to anyway. :mmph: Hope you are able to get outside this weekend and that the weather cooperates with you! Glad that Cait made out good with her experiment, hopefully she did not stress too much over it! That is too bad that your printer died right when you needed it most, but good to have a brand new one! Enjoy your cuddles with the rats today!

Kay - Your home looks lovely! I think that it is great that everyone tries to go with preserving water in your area! We get so much rain here usually and everyone has green yards here, but the last few years the summers have been terribly dry and we have water restrictions all summer long. So the lawns burn up and look so ugly! With so many people moving here I am not sure how we will have enough water for everyone?? Sure hope that your throat feels better soon!

Karen - That is too bad that your complex turned down the pee area for your Joey, hope you get it figured out as to where will be a good place for him to go!

Jean - How strange that your Surface computer decided to come alive again! Glad you were able to get your back ups done! Guess it wanted to make you happy one last time! Yes the DNA kit seemed to be the gift everyone wanted me to have LOL. I am lucky that my cousin has so much info about our family and so does my oldest sister so it will be fun to hook up with them and discover all of my distant relatives! I feel lots of Heritage pages in my future LOL!

Felis - Thank you for the suggestions on my Instagram acct! I am so dense when it comes to Instagram and how it all works, using hash tags etc  I will look at my account and see how to add my Etsy link to it! Yes I will do my best to help MIL out with the Easter dinner, she is very stubborn, but like you say she also wants to prove that she is still capable of being the master in her kitchen. Hope you soon will be able to see The Game of Thrones, I think you either will love it or hate it. We love it!! Even though it is very violent and the language is pretty bad with some of the characters. Do you think that a library near you might have it on DVD? Hope you are feeling less tired and that you have a lovely evening!

Well I guess I will get in the shower and then make the bed. DH is heading out the door, so will say goodbye to him. Have a lovely day everyone!

good morning - well yesterday was a blur. First I had a doctor's appt to check my blood pressure which I knew was high but it is high. So will be starting new medication. Then off to rehab and we agreed that I only need this week and next week and they will have done all they could do and then it will be up to me to keep up the exercises. The off to have my legs waxed. I love it! Then home for a quick snack before heading out to dinner with my girlfriend, her daughter and her boyfriend. It was a good time. We watched the Yankees and hockey at the same time. And the food was delish, green chile chicken tacos. Came home and watched hockey all night. What a crazy play off year this is. Both the Lightning and the Penguins were swept. They both were favorites to win and yet they lost in 4 straight. Just shows that you have to play the games and cant rely on past performances. So I slept until 8:30 this morning. Today is pretty calm. Just swimming this evening and more hockey.

Chris whew glad to hear the stitches are dissolving. I too was thinking that the stitches had been in too long. Glad you are moving better and loving those rats! Congrats to Cait for getting her data. I would have been nervous too if the professor had not shown up.

Kay your home looks exactly likes home in AZ. I love the rocks and the designs you can create. I would have a yard like this but I am sure in my neighborhood that would be frowned upon. Everyone here has perfect lawns with no weeds. I feel my lawn may be bringing down the property value LOL.

Trudy I hope those Bruins play better today. Sorry you are having all the smoke. I remember as a kid when all the leaves would be burning. It was not pleasant and I always wondered why there were not more wild fires. Love the painting! I feel so bad for Notre Dame. My sister and I are so glad that we got to see it. But sounds like they have received the money and will be able so restore it.

Felis it is sad that there was a fire but so remarkable that so much was saved. I hated seeing that spire fall. But knowing that it will be restored is awesome.

Jean that is great that the Surface came back - hope you got your stuff moved to back up.

Karen that is something that the complex does not want a specific area for dogs. Seems like that would make the complex and dogs much happier.

Have a great day all!

Hi Trudy we crossed posted. I like the Game of Throne books but for some reason I just don't like watching the violence. And since there is no book for this season I rely on my son to keep me up to date. And I must say I am so interested to see who win the throne or if the throne is destroyed so no one gets it. I also would like to ride on a dragon. Have fun with sisters!

Probably you are bored to listening about that, but I'm still sooo tired! Now is one of the most precious moments to drink your coffee at the garden, till all is in bloom. Unfortunately it's still cold, with lots of dark clouds in the distance ;) . With my mom we are tenacious and tried, but it's not so comfortable with wool clothes. My dad bought a pretty little bench on deal, but till it's come time to put it on place, probably all the bloom will be gone. If I make some beauty pics will scrap it.

Chris, paw prints socks are so cute! I have with dogs  . Will be one of these chick that wear flats with socks, it was a trend in some moment. Bad for the printer, sorry! Fingers crossed Caitlyn to calm down and be brilliant as she is when isn't nervous!

Trudy, I need to scrap some flowers photos too, but no time these days. I will love The Game of Thrones, I know it! No their DVDs are not available in my country yet. They comes sooo slow! For favorite series the impatient first orders english versions  .

Nancy, lovely that you are had nice dinner with your friends! Do you plan to continue along with the aqua therapy or you have other alternatives?

The stories about Notre-Dame are so different in the different media, but as Chris said will be interesting what decision they will takes from now. Here was announced that we are offer to help them with restoration of some of the lost vitrage, but Marie-Claire told that there don't have lost vitrage , we are never informed enough. Our prime minister who is ex fireman praises enthusiastically the work of the fireman, but in english site I read that they are start too late?! Will be story in progress for sure.

Hugs and kisses to all! :cof3:

Aww, Kay, so sorry I'm misunderstood your story, because of my prejudice! You have such a pretty house and living in desert, stones probably are important for the bugs around. Being a forest child I can see lost space, but I can imagine how terrifies will be desert's child left in wild yard as mine. When I hear this " our community has a restriction", I immediately blister. My ancestors gives their blood for this land, it's belongs to me and I will not allow someone to restrict me. This was one of the reasons to give up from my moving in England. We had to live in pretty country house, but the neighbors play in one of these competition with identical houses, not my cup of tee .
So I'll show you my yard too, in try to shock you ;) , we like it in wild style.
Now girls, If you play finding Waldo you can see Tiny at the first pic, Biggie is of course on second, (I'm sorry, they want to play in this 'game'), and the third is my front door.

Hard to believe, but my Surface is still chugging along. I can't trust it anymore to last, but am so happy to have it working. It's like a third hand to me. Anyway, scrapbook stuff and photos are on an EHD to start with (and that gets backed up separately) but I was way behind on some of the genealogy and personal stuff that is now caught up. Also anything new I save gets saved outside too. All very strange but making me much calmer. Over the weekend I finished two of my drawings and they're on my blog. Looking forward to working with some sort of paint crystals in class tomorrow.

Chris, good to know the stitches will dissolve and you've got such cute compression socks. Ouch on the timing of the printer dying. But that's what they do as far as I know. Let us know what Cait learns from her experiment. And you're far from the only one not watching GoT. I know it exists, but that's about it and I can't say I'm interested in knowing more.

Kay, hope you're feeling better today. Thanks for sharing pix of your lovely xeric landscaping. It looks very creative.

Trudy, know you're having a great day with the sisters. Having DH around a lot should be preparing you for some day when he retires or partly. It is a whole new world having him always home.

Nancy, the Jackets' sweep was pretty impressive. Local folks seemed to get excited too but I refuse to be their fan even though our AHL team is now their farm team. You'll have lots of fun with the rest of the playoffs. Your knee recovery seems to have gone beautifully and the distance of your walks is impressive. Hope the other knee is holding up!

Felis, hope your week is going better than expected and that you're feeling good.

Jean,, yes we go thru rain :rain: period and the temperatures drop down a lot, we just was started wear t-shirts and had to go back to winter clothes, such a mess for the wardrobe.
Very beautiful drawings! Especially the summer one! Is that the mixed media you try in the art class?
