Happy Wednesday! How is my lOvely O-Fam? Hope you are all having a fab morning/day/evening!

It feels so early here, but I know it is not :( But I am waiting for my coffee to kick in, so it is all good!
Anyone want a refill?

I did get my braces off, yay! And...The ortho gave me a bottle of champagne as a congrats! I saw bottles of sparkling cider on the one cabinet- but they pulled the adult kind out from underneath it for me woo hoo!

After the ortho appt, I made the mistake of going to Walmart as I was halfway down the highway. I mean, I had to go- I had 2 b-day gifts to get, plus some last minute back to school stuff. Ahhh! It was a MADHOUSE!!! Seriously insane. And I still can't find shoes/sneakers for Caitlyn- she is between kids and ladies sizes, and I have no idea of what is "in" this week LOL

Today is a Work from Home day- plus catch up on all of the school paperwork I haven't filled out yet.
My incentive to get myself going is that I can do some much needed yard work and gardening when I am done. You all know how much I love that!

Personals:

Dawn-- yippeee!! So happy to hear that *you* are happy!! The trip to FL sounds so fun. I miss Disney :( For those who don't know, I am a Disney freak- I have a M Mouse Tattoo, a total M Mouse kitchen- including plates/utensils etc... Before we got sick we tried to get to Disney about every 3 years. We haven't gone since 2002. Last year, most of my friends were going there for vaca, and I swear it was like a knife in my heart. But.... I realize that everyone has their times, and we *will* get there again.
Just promise me you'll give Mickey and Goofy a kiss from us!
(One of the reasons I fell in love w. Gary is the day we started going out he was wearing a MM t-shirt. Then we were up all night talking and laughing and he said I was goofy. I said back- No *you* are Goofy, I am Pluto, and he got it ;)
Since then we had "nicknames" of Goofy and Pluto. And yes, we collect G & P stuff etc. we are sooo corny!

How is my Davy today? Can't wait to hear more about Merkee's stuff- I just love her and her designs!

Linda W-- how is C-Man doing w/ school? The days must fly for you both. Cool onthe storage!! Declutter, baby!

Clara- yay for coffee. I swear, I don't know how you could give up coffee, I can't live w/o it!
LOL-- Caitlyn is a monkey too- Did you ever see my LO of her at the museum, posing with a Chimp? Funny! I'll have to find it. LOL

Sally- good to see that you are resting, Not quite taking it "easy" but resting/working is good :) Hope that you are feeling better. Emma rocks!!

I'm back to work since yesterday :(
And I hate to be there ... I used to love it, but I feel like I'm no longer "aligned" with what my job requires me to do ... It's a very unpleasant feeling and it is not really a great source of motivation ...
I know it'll pass a little when the routine will be back ... but at some point I'll have to find a way out I guess ... :)

The kids will be back to school next week
Among the important news of this new school year, DH and I will be taking the responsibility of the scouts group in our zone. It's a bit "scary" in a way, but I pushed DH to accept when we were asked because lately we've been turning more and more onto oursevles, stopping things we used to do because of lack of time and energy, and also because the kids are not always easy to handle ... we did help the group with quite a bunch of stuff (for example we organized an ran the end of year fiest) but still I think it will be good for us to do something more for others ...

well anyway ... feels like I've been talking to myself :lol: thanks for reading. Hope it all makes sense :)

ROFL about you and DH and Disney, that's soooo cute! This morning sweet little Davy is plucking carpet fibers up like they are pieces of grass, he doesn't eat them just leaves them in little piles...good thing I am going to take out the carpet and put in tiles sometime LOL. haha, he must be worn out cause now he's flopped down in front of the trash can. This morning when I went to iron my scrubs I let him out of his cage and shut the door...when I came back he was sitting on my desk beside my Bamboo Fun...apparently he had activated one of the buttons because the note window was open where you can use the pen. I'm just happy he didn't chew something!!! It's impossible to be angry with him :).

LindaW-I hope you get in some down time today! It's always go go go, isn't it?

I'll try to check in tonight, last night I went out with my BFF for a while so was late getting in :).

Good morning O's. I am on Gunar's computer today. Mine is on the fritz :(. We installed a webcam so we can skype with my SIL while she is out of the counrty and the instilation did something and window won't launch now...grrrrr. It made me realize yesterday just how much time I spend on the computer, too much ;). Today I at least have one but none of my stuff is on it. Thankfully G is a jack of all trades so he'll get it fixed.

Its a rainy day today so we'll be haning out at home and I'll probably have two foot long cucumbers! Chase is in a much better mood, poor little man was having belly issues over the last few nights. He actually slept last night so now he is playing on the playmat and talking to the good looking baby in the mirror. I am going to spend some much needed time in the gallery today, I can't scrap but I am going to leave some love and add to my favorites!!!

Chris~ Lets see some pics!!! We've had to do a lot of shoe shopping this year too. Both girls have gone up by two shoe sizes this summer...sigh...why can't they just stop growing!?!

Ok...in and out again...DH is cutting me no slack this week!!!

We have already been out to Lowes and it's only 9!! I also cooked breakfast for him!!

Now that those things are out of the way...I told him to chill...I needed to check the computer for a few minutes....he immediately rolled his eyes and went to his "man cave"...the hunting and tool room!!

We are headed back out in just a few to take youngest step daughter to get her car fixed...I don't think I have shared this story...I really GRIPES my butt!! She was rearended about 2 months ago...it was a little rainy out that day and the police ran the woman's record and she had no tickets or anything against her so he didn't give her a ticket...he wrote the exchange of insurance form and lister the other driver at fault. Well..S-DD called her insurance to file the claim (Geiko)...waited a couple of weeks and nothing happened..she called Geiko and the lady said the insured would not call them back. They sent a certified letter to her and was waiting to get an answer...because they can't pay a claim where no ticket was issued without talking to the insured. After weeks of back and forth of this crap...Geiko finally turned the claim down...I called our insurance during this process several times too...so I asked them if her deductible would be an issue in this type of case ($1000.00)..she said it could possibly be filed under uninsured motorists part of her insurance, but there was still a $200 ded. Fortunately....when the lady got her letter of the claim being denied..due to lack of cooperation on her part..and she is now PERSONALLY responsible for all charges incurred...SHE CALLED (two months later!!!!) and they have now reopened and are going to pay to fix it!! UUUUGGGHHHHH! it's so totally unfair when folks act like this....and if that had been S-DD hitting someone else in the rear due to rain...she would have gotten a ticket because she is only 21....Stinks!!

Gotta run...DH is hollering....may just have to send him back to work early!! HEHEHEHEHE!!
 
Hi everybody! I don't think I was here yesterday. It was a busy day. We had breakfast with a friend and then went straight to Atha's first day at school. That turned out to be a mistake, because she had to go potty and didn't tell anybody... she managed to hold on till right before I picked her up and then she peed a little at the pick up spot. Poor girl! But she really didn't seem to be embarrassed or anything, so that's good! Today we had a nice relaxed morning (sort of) before dropping her off, so here's to a pee-free day today! LOL

I also start my orientation at University of Phoenix today, and am slightly stressed/excited about that.

Tonight at church we have Spouses of Soldiers and the theme is Massage, Music and Muffins. So we are going to rub each other's shoulders, eat each other's homemade muffins and listen to each other's cd's. Sounds like a nice, relaxing treat!

Chris- You go, no-brace face! Wow, that must feel so weird/good. Go have steak and corn on the cob! Sounds like you are gonna need that champagne after Wamart. Gahhh, I can't stand it when Walmart is crowded like that. People are crazy in there. Both my girls need shoes too, and I'm waiting till after the first to get them. Poor Gen's "everyday shoes" broke, so she's wearing random ones till we get paid. Oh well, she's 2 1/2, she'll recover.

LindaW- You know, those men sure do get in the way when they are around the house don't they? LOL I always joke with my hubby when he's around that he is ruining my whole routine. Mine called this morning, so it was awesome to hear his voice! Then, he told me he hadn't paid the credit card bill last month, so now we owe double. Grrrrr! LOL

Also, RE: insurance issues. That grinds my gears! If everybody was just courteous and took care of their own responsibilities, this world would be a better place, don't you agree? I mean, make a mistake and we forgive you, but make it right, kwim? Glad your S-D is finally getting somewhere with her poor car.

Joslyn- First, wow, I hope you do end up with big cucumbers! I envy those of you who are able to grow some veggies, yum! Enjoy your rainy day inside, and I'm glad your little man is feeling better too.

Dawn- your Davy stories are fun. Does he just have free run of the house? That's so cool! I have never met anybody with a hutchless rabbit before. You seem to have so much fun with him!

Dumpty- I know that feeling of being out of whack with your job. I'm dreading that very thing when I get back into the workforce. Here's hoping it gets straightened out soon! Enjoy your scout leading experience! That is a lot of responsibility, isn't it? I'm sure you'll have great memories, as well as lots of great material to scrap!

Well, enough procrastinating. Time to eat and get to class! I love that I can go to class whenever I want, but I hope I don't abuse the privilege!
 
Good morning. I'm going to be real quick and I'll come back for personals. It is about lunchtime and I have to run to the post office to get a package on its way to Iraq. One of my very dear friends is over there as a civilian and she has had such a rough time over there. She was attacked by someone in the same company and had some horrible sexual harassment issues. KBR is an evil company and they didn't do anything satisfactory after either situation. So, she got a new job over there and is liking it much better. I have had this box forever to send her. I think it has silly Easter stuff init. I just couldn't get a good address for her. but now I have one so it will go off today.

Addie had a dentist appt today and it went really well, I guess. DH took her since we had to split the kids' appts to get Ethan's done before school started. Anyway, I guess she was really good and they thought her teeth looked fine, although a bit crowded, which I'm guessing will eventually mean braces and probably she will need some teeth out but we'll see what happens over the next 10 years or so. she was so cute yesterday and today. DH told her that she was going to the dentist today adn so she started singing the monkeys on the bed song and was so excited. She brushed her teeth 3 times yesterday afternoon and then drug Derek out of bed to brush her teeth this morning. Too cute.

Last night was nice. My brother came to visit. It is fun when he is over but he always comes during the week at the end of the day which is the worst time for the kids. That is when they are the whiniest, brattiest and loudest. It was nice though. we made plans for Ethan's birthday on friday and also for our trip to see dave Matthews next weekend. We all go every year and it is always a blast.

Well, I need to head out to get that box mailed. I'll be back in a bit. Ciao ladies.

Chris - Yay for no braces. I love that they give you an alcoholic prize when you finish up. that is awesome. I KWYM about Walmart. I shop there out of necessity most of the time...it is the cheapest and only 10 minutes from home. If I can avoid it I do and i have been doing a pretty good job of it lately. I tried to buy Ethan's school supplies the other day and can you believe they were out of paper? Paper, really? Oh come on!! Good luck finding shoes for Caitlyn. I am not looking forward to the day I have to buy expensive shoes. I'm still able to get away with the cheap ones. I give it about 2-3 years if I'm lucky. Thankfully Ethan is easy to dress cute for not much. I can buy his entire wardrobe at Old Navy for the most part and everything there goes on sale eventually, although can you believe they were actually OUT of boys jeans? I think he will always wear boys sizes, at least I hope so for my budget, although I doubt I'd be that lucky and I don't really want to wish him to be miniature forever, although it is far too likely.

Dumpty - I'm sorry you are not loving work. I hope it gets better soon. That is cool about the scout troop. I want to get Ethan into scouts this year, but I don't want to sell popcorn. Fortunately Ethan has the cute factor, but it is just so expensive. I wouldn't buy it so why should other people. But I also want him to do things like earn his way to camp and stuff. We'll see how it goes.

Dawn - you iron your scrubs? I know I should but I don't think I ever have. I won't iron. If I had to iro n my scrubs I'd have to work someplace else. If it looked better I would just wear hospital scrubs but they got a new color and it isn't as cool as the regular light blue ones, it is a dark blue/green. I wear the pants but my own tops. I'm glad Davy didn't chew anything up today. He is so silly.

Joslyn - I am now motivated to grow some veggies next year. I think I am going to just grow beans but still. My dh and bro were trying to talk me into putting in a sprinkler system next year. Hmmm...we'll see.

LindaW - that is unreal about the car story. It is amazing how fast people react when they find out it might come out of their own pocket. It is just too bad that you SDD had to wait so long to get it all taken care of. Oh, and I'm sticking my tongue out at you dh!! I do it to mine to when he gives me crap about the computer as he's watching his stupid colony show.

Andrea - Yay for starting school. How exciting. I remember when I started school for x-ray it was so exciting just because I knew it was the beginning of something different. Do you have to go into class at all or is it all online? I know different programs in different areas are set up a little differently. I am so excited for you. That's great you got to talk to you dh, even if you did find out he didn't pay the CC. Hopefully it doesn't affect you too much.
