Tuesday. *mental check* Yes. Tuesday.
If I had a dime for every time I checked the date or asked someone what the date is and will be over the past 24 hours, well, I would have at least a dollar!:p

Yesterday was quite the day. I was feeling down after reading how everyone here is having a rough time. (don't take that to stop sharing, it just is that I feel bad when other people are struggling and I can't help). I got bad news from one friend. Gary clipped Ray's nails and nicked the quick and it bleed- a lot. Every time she got up and wandered around, it would start up again and she bled all over the carpet. That meant I had to do quick steam clean of the tracks she left (it was that bad, spot cleaning was not going to do the trick). At dinner, I got more bad news from my BFF and the Sept get together is getting more complicated than I would like.

(Notice that I didn't include the weekly grocery shopping struggle that was happening during the Ray and Friend #1 issues. I HATE that there is that countdown timer of the window that you have left to finalize your order or you lose it. It makes it so stressful. Try dealing with that while your dog is bleeding everywhere and your friend is crying. :()

All I want to do is makes things better for everyone. Why is that impossible??? *mumbles about life not being fair and all that* All I can do is send virtual hugs, it is not enough. My heart hurts for everyone.

I need to practice self-care today. Not sure how I plan to do that just yet but I have to do something.

I will start with Gratitudes:
-it is Leah's b-day and I am happy every day that she is in our lives
-Scott and Gary's sense of "humor"- they are both so weird!!!!!
-Cait and I spending time together yesterday

Hugs to all of you!

Kay- what is the weather forecast as of now? I hope that you don''t get snow.
yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy for you and your sister!!!!!! That is fantastic news!! Whew!!

Nancy- ummmm. I don't think I would have eaten anything at the BBQ other than the potato salad and pie :p Happy b-day to your DH. It has to make you very happy to have the "boys" together with their families.
Enjoy the rest of the hockey games!

good morning - well my DH has headed into to first day of school. His son sent him a nice birthday wish so that is awesome. There has been years when they have forgotten. I am watching the TdF. It is a flat stage and yet there have been two major crashes. But learned that the there are companies that are developing clothing that are tear resistant so that it should help save skin. Well at least the skin that is covered by clothing. It is so strange that things are getting back to pre Covid life. I am home alone.

Chris happy birthday to Cait! Hope she has a great day. So sorry your day went so wrong. I would think your BFF feels better after talking to you even if you cant solve all problems. Good luck with the shopping list.

Waving to all!

Wow... what a day it has been. DD#1 is back from AZ finally. So glad to be able to have coffee with her this morning. She tried ringing my doorbell but it didn't work... turns out the batteries have finally wore out. Only been in there for about 5 years!!! Got caught up on all the news of the new house out there that DGD and family have moved into. Today is that waiting for the storm to arrive. Have lots of smoke from fires in the air and an poor air quality alert. We are under a high wind warning from now until late tonight - with winds from 40 to 60 MPH. The winds started blowing around noon and are getting stronger as the day goes. Had to find another support for the 'new' tree that was taller as the wind is already whipping it around. It has already reach 84* but expect that to drop drastically when the cold front hits here sometime later this afternoon.

Nancy, hope all goes well for your DH at school today.

Chris, just listening to your friend is helpful for her.

Gotta get off the computer... the lights/power seems to be flickering. CYL

It is a wonder we are still here. Had 3 wind gust of 69 mph, 68 mph, then one of 72 mph at the airport this afternoon! Trees were uprooted in parts of Albuquerque and power was out in parts of town, too. My patio slab was covered with dead leaves swirling all around. The temp went from 85* to 65* in less than an hour between 4:30PM to 5:30PM - turned dark as night and we had some thunder and rain. Still having waves of thunder/rain coming through. The actual cold front won't arrive until late this evening. Looks like the snow will stay be mainly in the mountains and foothills. This will be the earliest snow on record in our part of the state. I have a blanket in the bedroom ready to go on the bed if I need it. Don't think I will sleeping in my light summer weight gown tonight.
