How was everyone's long weekend? It was a good day to be hanging out in a pool here. It was around 90* at BFF's house and the pool temp was a bit over 80* We floated and talked and caught up on life. It was heaven. Usually, we meet for coffee and it is so rushed, trying to cram everything in. My niece and nephew are settling into college and she is adjusting to having an empty nest while they are away. It has to be so strange, I can't even imagine. The funniest part is that because the pool is new, just finished last month, there isn't a ladder from the pool to the deck. This meant that to get out, we had to flip onto the deck and roll. We were dying with laughter.

Today is gonna be another hot one but I will be freezing my butt off in the grocery store at least for an hour or so. I am sure that at some point, I am going to have to help Cait through a mental breakdown with school starting tomorrow. I am always impressed with her that she knows when she will be anxious and she builds that into her day to get it out appropriately.

Nothing much else is happening. Hope that you all have a fantastic day! xoxo

Hi and welcome Angela! Labor Day in the USA is a day off when we recognize the work that Labor Unions did to provide a safer environment and protections to laborers, like 40 hour work week and compensation if injured on a job.

How old are your kids? I love libraries and love when my kids read. My kids are 22 and 20 in a few weeks but they commute to college so I am lucky to have them home with me. Congrats to your DD for getting that medal!

Trudy- does your husband *ever* really rest? I think not LOL That is wonderful that you had a nice time with your brother on the water yay! My impatiens are still doing good, lots of color so I hang on to them as long as possible. I never seem to have money for mums and have a hard time justifying the cost for flowers that will only last a month or so. Should go to the dollar store and buy some fake ones to put out each year. 400 wildfires -- that is just so sad. :(

Nancy- I had to smile at the comment about DH and the kitchen. Why do men have such trouble cleaning as they cook? ;) Good vibes to you for getting the photos off of your hard drive too.

Jean- hummingbirds always make me happy too. They are like a little surprise treat! Hope that you were able to stay cool.

Sharon- poor puppies! Like having stir-crazy kids... How is the chaos at your house, has it settled down yet?

Morning ladies... I am up far to early, but my arms are killing me!! Darn tendinitis!! So I got up to take some Ibuphrofen and just waiting for it to kick in then I am back to bed for a bit hopefully  I did not manage to do one bit of scrapping yesterday, it was just such a pretty day with no smoke in the air and the sun was shining warm and beautiful! So most of my day was spent outside doing some weeding and cleaning up all the cobwebs off the porches and decks. I had a few coffee breaks with my Gary as he was busy painting and he was happy to come down from the ladder and just sit for awhile inbetween primeing and painting. He will have sore knees today I bet! I am hoping to go on my hike on Wednesday, so I would love to be able to get a few more pics made into a scrap page today!

Chris - The day spent with your BFF sounds amazing! So nice that you were able to catch up with her and get in some nice pool time too! I wish I could have been there when you were climbing out of the water though!! LOL I can just see it :becky: So nice that you still have your impatien plants! I did not plant any this year and I miss the lovely colours! I feel for your BFF and the heartache of going through the adustments of having an empty nest! It is very hard to do and you are so lucky to still have your kiddos at home with you!

I will end this here and climb back into bed for a bit, I will catch up with the rest of you lovely ladies later on this morning. I plan on spending a good portion of my day here in front of the computer. Have a great morning everyone! Wish me luck on getting back to sleep!

Hello Chris. I can't imagine having a pool at home, that must be amazing for your friend and for you being able to join her.

My children are 14 (for a few more weeks), 12 and 10.
I'm glad Cait has you to help her through the mental stresses of change etc. I'm autistic so I can really understand that kind of need. My husband and my son (my 12 year old) are also autistic. I don't know how my girls managed to escape that one.

I hope your arms heal quickly Trudy.

It's very wet here today. Not exactly raining, just like living inside a big cloud. Humidity is over 95% and everything outside gets covered in water droplets. My trousers were soaked after I got back from walking my youngest to her school.

good morning - got up early to get the recycling out to the curb and to get ready for a dentist appt. My DH and son were off too. I went up to shower and then came down to head to dentist to find my car was gone. There was a huge miscommunication. My DH had taken the car to give blood without telling me he had the appt and I did not mention to him the dentist appt as I knew he had work. It was freaky walking out to the drive way and seeing no car. LOL. I called the dentist and I can go tomorrow. So weird and I sent a text and my son noted I said van not Escape and could not figure out what I was texting about. Senior moment. It is hot and fortunately Luther got out for an early morning walk and now is resting in the basement. I watched the Federer tennis match last night and it was not the same Federer. Millman deserved the win. I guess time and the heat catches up with every one. I did get a lot of my photos copied to EHD so that was good. Actually went faster than I expected. Today more of the same.

Chris glad that you had such a good time at your BBFs pool. So fun to enjoy the sun! I had a empty nest for a while and it was strange. But at least her kids come home for the vacation breaks. Hope store shopping goes well!

Angela walking to school in that humidity sounds no fun to me but it is good to get the exercise. It will be interesting as more studies are done to understand Autism and how it is passed on to ones children.

Trudy wow you were up early. Sorry about the tendinitis. And I am like Chris does your Gary ever rest? But how nice to have so many projects completed. Have fun scrapping today. Hope the weather holds for your hike tomorrow I am sure your fellow hikers will be glad to see you back.

Jean wow a hummingbird! that is so awesome! I never tire of them.

Sharon hope the hurricane does not do damage to your area. Looks thought like more rain is headed in your direction! The dogs and you all must be going crazy.

Have a great day all!

We're off shortly for the computer genealogy group lunch and board meeting across town. It is a lovely day though will get hot. Last night we went out to dinner as we've found a local place that stays open on holidays. As we left it poured briefly and brought down the temps.

Chris, another great story image of you guys rolling out of the pool. Hope today goes well.

Trudy, hope you got back to sleep and felt better. Scrapping today would be good and a hike tomorrow could be just the thing.

Amanda, that is a LOT of humidity! Glad it's not so bad here today.

Nancy, I would really have freaked over no car! Not your family's first bout of miscommunication though. Good thing you could reschedule.

Hope it's a good day for all.

Good morning, everyone. I just opened my computer work files and my boss sent me backlog over the weekend so I already have more than a day's work loaded and there will be a full day coming later too...ugh. No computer time for me today. Gotta go but will hopefully have a bit more time tomorrow to see how everyone is doing.

Have a great day, everyone!

:hello: again everyone... I am feeling more rested and have one cup of coffee in me so feeling a bit more awake now too! It is another nice sunny day, usually gets beautiful again when the kids head back to school. I remember looking out the window in high school wishing we were back at the lake and swimming instead of being in school. :becky: September here can be so beautiful and then the rainy season hits LOL.

Nancy - Yikes I would have freaked out to find no car in the driveway LOL! Thank goodness you can see the dentist tomorrow instead! I had to cancel my dental cleaning because I was out in Ontario at the time and couldn't reschedule until November, ugh my teeth are really going to need a good cleaning!! Yes my Gary is a busy guy, but there are so many things to do around here LOL it is a good thing to keep him busy or he would be going crazy, he has no real hobbies and he loves to be outside puttering around. It keeps him out of my hair!

Jean - Have a good time at your computer geneology group meeting! Nice to hear that you are having more nice weather and that you got to enjoy a meal out over the long weekend! Most places are open around here, it seems they never close for anything anymore. Guess everyone needs the business!

Angela - Wow that really is high humidity! I don't know how you can stand it! It was humid when I was out visiting my kids in Ontario and man I hated the humid weather! I did not know that Autisum is passed on to ones children, very interesting! I hope that your weather improves and you can be out without getting soaking wet all the time!

I am off to the gallery and doing some catching up before opening up my Photoshop and getting into scrapping today. Not much else going on for me except trying to figure out what to have for dinner tonight. Enjoy the day everyone!

:

There are different forms of Autism with different causes. One particular form, sometimes called Aspergers, is thought to be genetic. The three of us all have that form.

Fortunately it's a dryer day today.
