GooooOd morning O-Zie-O's!
Well, the good news is that I survived yesterday. It took me 3+ hours-- yes, hours, to get things straightened out with my health insurance/billing/etc. The first one I dealt with was the one that was sent to Collections. That was easy-peasy. I was told to disregard the bill and that they would let the Collections know. I made sure that I had her name taken down for my notes.
(Rule #1 when dealing with this-- get the person's name!!!!)
I updated Cait's ins. information with the lab so they will bill them, not me. I think it went through correctly but there some issues since her ins. is through the state, and it is in her name, but I am her guardian so some of my info was in it. We'll see if I get billed again.
Then I moved on to my ins. co. to see why Scott was not on my ins. anymore. CSR told me that I needed to speak to the Marketplace (healthcare.gov/ ACA website) to find out what was up. I called the Marketplace, and yes, Scott has been covered the entire time. I ask her if Scott actually has coverage through my ins., as in what happens if he got sick *today,* and she says I need to call the ins co for that confirmation, but as far as it goes, he is covered on their end.
Call back the ins co. This did NOT go well. At all. The CSR was not helpful. After try to get her to understand what I was telling her about the mix-up, and that he was never dropped from my policy, she insisted that Scott had not been covered since Aug 1. Which I *know* was 100% incorrect because it was just this past weekend that I saw the invoice with him off it. I have my last two invoices from Aug and Sept that have him as my Dependent, as well as the info I have from the Marketplace.
That is when I lost it and I yelled, "That is such bulls***" (I didn't yell the asterisk LOL). I think I surprised myself b/c I am usually polite even when I am angry and frustrated. Then she snapped back and me to watch my language if we were going to continue the conversation. That is when I asked to speak to her supervisor.
Supervisor listens to what I am saying, connects us to a conference call with the Marketplace. The look at my records and files and applications. I am scribbling notes and names and dates. I also had my letter in front of me that detailed the changes in income and forms submitted last month so I had a nice chronological line to go by. (The Marketplace CSR said that she also had in my file that all of those doc's were received and that I needed nothing else for income verification- hahahah!! I wasn't even calling about *that*!!!)
Finally get that straightened out, and it should be corrected in 24-72 hours.
:hurt:
:faint:
Can I just say that after that I was toast!!!!!
After all of that I took a break, then did all of my food shopping-- online- and will pick that up today.
I swear, I need a vacation!!!!
I hope that you all have a calm and peaceful kind of day!
