GoooooOd morning my O-Fam!
I am doing better than i was an hour ago when my alarm when off. On cuppa #2, although technically it would be #3.5 since my mug is a huge one. :D

(why is it that Cat-Zilla knows every morning when I am trying to start the Daily Oos? She must hear the keybd and the cursing over all of my typos and think "its that time again, time to drive my mommy crazy!")

Someone asked me a couple of days ago where I am or why I am up so early. I get up at 5 am to get my kids out of bed. The school bus picks them up at 6.45 am (yup- still dark outside). none of us are morning people and it takes us a looong time to get moving/showered/b-fast and meds. But i have learned a half hour of extra sleep is not worth the yelling and aggravation of getting to the bus stop late. The jr Hi/ and HS are 15 mins away, more if you are stuck behind buses and I really don't want to kill a half an hour of my day dropping them at school when they could be on the bus.

Today I am off to shop for Birthday and Christening gifts- ugh! I know, I am a traitor to my gender, but I despise shopping.

Tip on Tuesday:
For the FB users: Here is an article Meg had posted about privacy/share settings. I thought it was good to know.

I am goign to post this now while I can, Catzilla is laying on the corner of the keybd, and as soon as she starts rolling around and stretching I am going to lose all this.

xoxo

Good morning Laurie (you are probably posting as I type this:) ) That is seriously funny- hitching a horse to the propane tank. Then a horse in the dog pen? Too funny!

Phyllis- I totally know what you mean about the slump, I just came out of one a week or so ago. Do you get Fibro Fog? The Lyme Brain can be brutal and very similar. Yeah- MMG will eat just about anything I put on the table, my kids are so picky and I am just tired of trying to come up with ideas.
MMG: Dinner? Yeah whatever you want to cook.
Faery: Well. actually I don't want to cook anything. I want it magically appear in front of me. And for all of you to eat it w/o complaints.

*sidenote* Scott had 2 friends over for dinner, and i made made home made pizzas. The one girl was raving how good it was. I forgot how it feels to hear that LOL!

Morning Chris & All! I am sitting under my light- I may just have the placebo affect, but I do feel better since getting my light and doing my morning computing under it. Yesterday turned out to be a day as planned, but not a normal day and that was just surreal again. I really need to go sit in a dryer on the normal setting. So today I am restarting my week and hope it has no more surprises. On a wonderful note- MMG bought me a keurig yesterday and I had my first two cuppa this am! On a not so great note- my house looks like boxes exploded everywhere- I need to clean- Phylis- want to come help me on Thursday and then next week we can do yours? I have applesauce and grape jelly to make this week- never got to it over the weekend- too busy hanging curtains that MMG picked out. I am so spoiled. His sister is still hanging on in the nursing home and still being ornery and mean- does she really want to die alone? I just do not get it. Okay off to get ready for work.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies!

I actually stayed up late last night and watched the new show "Terra Nova", I've been looking forward to this all Summer. Not sure it really met my expectations, but I will stick with it and see if it gets more interesting as the season unfolds.

So what new shows are you watching this season?

Morning all.

Our quiet day just visiting Fordham's campus (dh had Jesuits in hs and college) and thinking if it would be a good fit for dgs turned out to be a hot hot sunny day, as in get sunburned, day. We did a lot more walking than we planned but ended up going to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx also for 1. a visit to an Albanian Mom & Pop shop where we had a great talk with the owners, sampled then bought some dried meat & sausage. An Italian lunch, then got some decaf espresso to take home, and then the fun began.

Rather than walk north to get the same subway, we had the bright idea :???::???: to walk south and west to the subway stop just before the original one. It made sense and we looked at the map and it still made sense. However, we did not realize there was one steep, as in San Francisco steep hill to climb! Hot humid and hill nearly wiped out two old geezers. The subway and its a/c never looked so good.

btw, for those of you who want a rear end that looks like J-Lo's, I know where you can get jeans with 'butt-enhancers'!

That's the Naked City story of yesterday.

Sitting down for a hopefully quiet moment. *tries to type really softly so Catzilla doesn't hear me*

Hi Laurie and Frani :)
Congrats on the keurig! I am sure its not just a placebo effect- but if it is and its helping, who cares how it works, right??

Fran- the commercials for Terra looked pretty good, hopefully it will get better.
news hows... So far we started Person of Interest, Unforgettable and Prime Suspect. The shows I am looking forward to starting are Fringe and Vampire Dairies. well they have already started, we DVR just about everything so I haven't seen the new Fringe yet.
I think a 4 day work week sounds good too, for school also. if you use one weekend day to errands and cleaning and the other for family stuff there is no down time at all.

Maureen- hope that toe is better today. Not going to tell you to try to stay off of it,because there is no way you can do that if you are in NYC!

How is Chloe feeling today Heather? Hope she is much better!

Hi trudy!

Sally you are cracking me up and killing me slowly at the same time with the Christmas music!

nana!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terry- I can tell you to stay off your feet- you are not in NYC LOL get off your feet!!! feet are the hardest to heal b/c of all the gravity and swelling that goes on- don't make it worse :(
When you are done with your abs and Maureen's, can you do something about mine??

Clara-- holy big baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope they didn't stock up on 0-3 month clothes! How is Michelle holding up? Will the military make sure she has a support system/counseling or whatever she needs even though he didn't die in 'action?"
Good luck with the washing machine, My parents got me the Duets years ago when we did the addition, and I love having a front-loader.

oh terry- Boys! Men! argh! I am glad he is going to live ;)i would love to know what the ER drs and nurses say about the patients after they leave. Several years ago, Gary almost cut the top of his thumb off on a table saw. As he was expalining you could almost see them trying to hold back laughing or rolling their eyes, thinking "Duh!

TTYS!!

It's supposed to be fall right? Well, then why is it going to be 103 today? I am so ready for some cooler weather.

As I think about what my day is going to be like, I think "man what a boring life." Same thing every day. work. work. work.

Maureen--did you buy a pair of butt enhancer jeans?

Laurie--I have the Tassimo and just love it! I've become addicted to cappuccino.

Chris--I often wondered how early you get up. Man--you are the first to post all of the time. I get up early too--5:30.

Guess I better get to work!

erk...i'm feeling pretty crappy. sleep-deprived. i stayed up until 1:30 a.m. last evening to watch 3 episodes of The Game of Thrones." WAH!! Sean Bean...well, i won't tell you what happens, in case you are going to catch up on the series.a TON of nudity in this thing. it's a little annoying, because it isn't really necessary to any of the story. but the story is my kind of story: sort of Lord of the Rings meets Twilight. lots of interesting and realistic characters.

had my usual bloodwork done this morning. trained phlebotomists are so much better at this than doctors. now i have to wait to see what my A1C test shows. can i just say that, if given a choice, you DON'T want diabetes. avoid it at all costs, if possible!!:frusty:

i have to think of someplace to get OUT to today. i was inside all day yesterday, pretending i was accomplishing something. i actually did some cleaning, though. today-probably more grocery shopping, post office. gotta go to the Township office to see what my goofy new neighbor has in mind with a detached garage he wants to build on his property. generally something like that wouldn't phase me. none of my business. but the problem is HIS business. he's a contractor, and i have visions of dump trucks and backhoes rolling up and down our little cul-de-sac.

does anyone have another recipe for dinner? mostly veggies and not many carbs?? or just the meat part? Maureen, your chicken recipe was great! post a recipe and i'll teach you how to make baklava, so you can impress your friends at a party but not do much work!!

have a great day, ladies!:yo:

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning ladies!

I'm hanging out with Addie, watching Tangled...again. I am pretty sure we watch this everyday. Lol. She watches it better because she knows what's next. Plus it is cute so I don't mind. With Ethan it was Nemo and Stitch. I'm glad they pick good ones and not horrible ones that I hate.

My bratty husband took the truck today cuz the weather is bad. So, hopefully I have no place to go today. He's been working later than usual lately. His department is putting on a Nuc Med conference in a week or two. They have some amazing speakers coming. The Surgeon General will be speaking along with some other big names. It will be great. Next year will be even better. He won't know what to do with himself when this is over. I get to go and get some CE's. Whoo. I hate doing the articles and tests to get them.

I will have to come back later for personals since I'm on my phone.

Good Morning everyone... boy by the time I am up and getting on the computer, everyone else seems to be half way through the day!! Work today, then off to the doctor for my annual check up. Yesterday was supposed to be a shorter day for me at work, but I ended up staying until 4:00pm new girl went home sick. Hope she is back today, because I can't stay today!

To all of you, I am sorry, but can't do personals today....late again as usual and really need to get something in my stomach before heading out the door. Why do I always have so much to do before I leave?? Bed to make dishes to put away, cat to feed, litter box to clean. No wonder I am late everyday!! Have a great one everyone!! I love ya all!!

Phylis, sadly I don't have my humongous recipe file on this computer. However, how about steaming a bunch of veggies, serving them over quinoa which is carb free and then topping with a reduction of balsamic vinegar. A bit of any kind of grilled protein also since I think you are serving a man also and they never seem to feel they are fed 'properly' without some, do they...

I was going to have a salad at lunch today but decided on a sandwich for some carb with all our walking. It came with a little cup of very syrupy balsamic which was yummy! I esp liked this as I don't eat mayo or mustard, and this was just perfect.

DH loves baklava but the one I swoon (I am old enough to swoon, right?) over is the Greek pastry with the custard filling. I have made it but I think my semolina wasn't fine enough. I did eat it all though which is the kind of reason that I am now chugging these ^$(W&^% fish oil pills.

Tonight I am having a slice of 'crack pie'. I'll probably have dinner first!

HI guys- do you know what happens when you go to work and the Amish workers come to sand your basement???? Have you ever thought about how far drywall dust can fly??? Well, when you come home at the end of the day and it looks like someone exploded a 5# bag of flour all around and turned a fan on- yeah that bad. Thank God I closed my laptop in the kitchen down before I left for work. Guess I will close the door between the kitchen and the basement tomorrow- I am hoping they are done- ughhhh
