Currently, my mood is "chaotic." I have been awake for an hour and have exhaustedly flipped through a ton of emotions. I am dreading this afternoon. Utterly dreading it. My mom's cardiologist appt is this afternoon. That is fine. I can go and take notes. However- she and my dad are fighting non-stop and I know that I am going to have to open my big mouth and tell them both off. Please, may all of the higher energies of the universe grant me the patience and wisdom to handle this properly.
I talked to her in the morning and she seemed fantastic. By dinner time, she was an angry mess. I see both sides to all of it and man, I am gonna get dragged in the middle. Neither is right, neither is wrong. And vice versa. How am I going to get through to them?
*sigh*
I had a bad dream about Olivia this morning. I woke up in a panic but couldn't remember why. When I went up to see the rats this morning, it came back to me. I dreamed that Livvie had escaped her cage (which is upstairs) and somehow broke her leg and was in my bedroom closet. She was squeaking like crazy and wouldn't let me pick her up and was hiding, not letting me help her. Once I saw her, I felt lots better. Today is their first birthday too! I gave them extra treats.

My days are all scrambled again, thank goodness that my friend is always so flexible when I go to clean. I will probably clean a bit here this morning, especially going through the kitchen/fridge. Then I am off to my mom's this afternoon and will be drinking heavily by dinnertime. Bwuahahah!!!! Just kidding. I think.

Please send me any calming vibes you have. I am going to need them. hugs and love to all!

Nancy- Woo hoo!! How was the game last night? You must have been so excited. Hope that the team is playing well.

Kay- that is fantastic about your DS. My brother is down the shore with his "street hockey friends" right now. They have been friends since grade school and make this trip to LBI every year.
My family lives/shops near the Morristown, NJ airport that he flies into when he goes to his Bedminster property. The roads are cleared and it makes a huge mess. Good day to stay home and scrap.

Trudy- I am happy for you that it is raining but of all times to have huge painting dry, the dampness isn't going to help. But I am so happy for you to get the commission- and may you get many, many more!

Felis- Your weather is being very good to you! I was going to ask if the cats have bells, but it seems like they do and the birds don't care. heh!! That is funny that they don't like some music.
I wonder why you are able to get the tulips from an online shop, but not your friend? They must have some way to make sure that the dirt isn't carrying seeds/organisms in it. One thing I love about talking dirt and plants with Scott is his knowledge of biodiversity and invasive plants. When we were on the hike a couple of weeks ago, he was showing us how the patches of Japanese knotweed and barberry will tale over acres and acres of land, choking out the native plants. The knotweed was brought here because it looks pretty, grows quickly. But now it has taken over and is killing everything around it.
Same thing with stilt grass. I rip that stuff out and you think you have the roots but it is incredibly invasive.

Fab photos, I love one of the bird in flight!

Morning ladies!! Wow another very, very rainy day!! LOL we asked for it right? Now it won't stop!! If it keeps pouring like it is right now, I doubt that I will be going on my hike tomorrow. We will have to see what tomorrow brings. Well I managed to get the painting done yesterday. I was very nervous about it, but put the vibes out there for a good one and it turned out beautiful!! Well in my eyes anyway LOL.

Now I hope it is dry before Saturday!! DH says its my best one so far, so that was nice to hear!!

Today I hope to do some scrapping and other than that I don't have much to do. I have already talked with Heather and Hunter, he is such a silly boy and was flitting from one toy to another showing me everything he could. Then all of a sudden he was ready for a nap so he waves to me and kisses the screen to let me know it was time to go. Love that little man so much and miss everyone so!!

Chris - Oh my goodness what is all the bickering about with your Mom and Dad?? You might have to sit them both down and give them a talking too!! My one sister and her husband are like that and it seems all they do is pick on one another, but I think it their strange way of showing love to one another??? It seems crazy for sure, but they have been that way for so long that they don't know any other way to be :loco: I hope all goes well at the appt with the cardiologist! That was one crazy dream you had too!! I bet it you felt better when you saw that Olivia was just fine!! Sending you calming vibes today my friend!!

Felis - Ohhh love the photos of the birds, I have no idea what kind they are but the pics are good!! Glad that you are enjoying your lovely fall weather! It is my favourite time of the year also, the colours and smells are wonderful when we are out on our hikes! At least when the forest isn't so dry that all you can smell is dust LOL.

Alright ladies I better get into the shower and get the bed made. Then I hope to be here for a bit and get some commenting done. I have been an absent CherryO for long enough. Enjoy the day everyone! I hope that the day brings good things to you all!

Felis, love that you got those photos of your bird buddies. I'm not sure what they are, but my best guess is that they are juvenile starlings. Take a look at these photos for comparison: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=juvenile+starling&t=seamonkey&iax=images&ia=images. Starlings love fruit and strut around on the ground willing to dare critters like cats. And they make a lot of noise too. Funny they don't like some songs!

Trudy, gorgeous painting! I know it will be adored by the people who'll live with it. Just hope it dries in time. The curling edges of color are so mysterious and have such depth. Congrats on dealing with that size too. Glad you are getting rain at last, just could have been better timing for the painting. Hope it lets up for your hike tomorrow.

Chris, hope you are getting your parents under control. Separation during the cardio appt. could help briefly, but sounds like it isn't good for anyone for them to be at such odds. Do remember though that you can't control them. They have to both see the problem as a problem and want to change it. Soothing vibes sent to all of you. And to Livvie too just in case.

Gave the lineage talk last night. DH was there and said it was good and it seemed well received. After we had dinner nearby, very tasty, and watched part of the football game. In a bit I'll be off to a podiatry appt. Just routine checkup, but I'm seeing a new doc recommended by my primary care person, so am looking forward to meeting her. About transcription, here's the blurb in our newsletter about my talk this Sat.:
Transcribing Documents: Why, How, Tips & Tools
Transcribing, or making an exact copy, of documents in your family can help find details and clues in them. A digitally typed version of old handwriting is computer searchable and can be read by others and more easily by yourself in the future. There are good guidelines for the process and free computer programs that can help you through transcription of digital images of the files. We'll look at what it means and have a demonstration of using a program to help with transcription.

Nancy, how wonderful for you to have hockey games again! I know how I feel when baseball spring training starts and games begin. Now the Indians have just 12 games remaining and may not even make the playoffs as a wild card. Hope the Devils will do well this season.

Kay, hope the heat doesn't get too bad, but sooner or later it has to quit.

HAGD all!

Another quick in and out. Been busy all morning getting caught up on a few chores. Need to go out and pick-up the plums that have fallen from the tree. We have several off and on thunder-lightening-wind storms come through the past 2 days. That caused lots of plums to fall. At least we are happy about the rain. Noticed that the temps have stayed lower until later in the day. Only made it to 80 at 5 PM but was back down into the low 70's before 7 PM. My neighbor brought over a bag of apples off his tree. They are small so will make apple crisp ... maybe this afternoon. Haven't had it since back in April. Yum... sure sounds good!!!

Need to empty the vacuum then use it. It doesn't have a bag so dumping it in the trash bin makes lots of dust in the air which sets off my allergies. Needs to be done soon.

Chris, good luck going with your mom to the Cardio doc. Sure wish there was an easy way to get your parents to quit arguing ... but they have to do it. Sending you calming thoughts.

Trudy...wow... that is a beautiful piece of art! Hope the humidity goes down enough for it to dry by this Saturday.

Jean, glad to see you popping in again. Glad your talk went off so well.

Now to get off the computer and get a few more of the chores done.

Hi everyone. Just popping in to see how Chris' mom is doing and of course everyone else.

Chris - sorry you are stuck in the middle of the family bickering. Everyone must be so stressed out and worried. Prayers, good thoughts and vibes and overall healthy thoughts sent to you all.

Trudy - wow...lady...you are painting some gorgeous canvases. I hope they are selling, they should be.

Jean, Nancy, Felis....everyone else....hope all is well. I'm scrapping lots and really enjoying myself. I've gotten back into clustering a lot and doing more traditional pages rather than just artsy type pages. After not scrapping much for over 1.5 yrs, it feels good to get back into it. Things are stable for the moment with the family so its not so stressful, for now...who knows what the future brings. We know things can change at any time so we appreciate the quiet time and prepare for things to come. Talk again soon...everyone take care.

Good late day. Yesterday was wonderful as the hockey game was so fun! The Devils won 4-3 in OT. Our #1 draft choice Jack Hughes scored the first Devils goal of the game and the OT game winner from Nikita Gusev. Now the question will be can he survive the NHL against men for 82 games and then hopefully the playoffs. My DIL's brother got us all an upgrade in tickets. We were right behind the Boston Bruin bench. It was so fun to see the way the players changed on the fly and the way the coaches encouraged the players. Our former player Jay Pandolfo is now an assistant coach. So now I have games Friday and Saturday. However the NHL has completely gone out of its mind. They have decided that backpacks are not allowed in NHL arena. What! Why! Cant security manage to look through the packs and make sure people are safe. My DH commutes from Brooklyn and always has his stuff in a backpack. So they say the NHL and the Rock they say there will be lockers outside to store the backpacks after they are searched. And OH yea for $8. Really what a joke. I don't even know who to complain to. They did not even give us advance warning. It was on twitter. I had to tell my DH not to come. I am going out with my girlfriend and her daughter for dinner. I have started to watch the Crown. OMgosh it is so good.

I will do personals tomorrow. But Chris I am hoping all goes well this afternoon with your mom and the doctor.

Hello girls,
Yes, It's exactly that bird! Thank you Jean!!! I was sure you'll can identify it! Now when I'm able to read more about it I see these are young birds and in next years will become darker to black. This also explain why they are so reckless and brave. LOL in my language even have idiom for self-confidence which become from young birds. I also learned that they can catch my crickets, which isn't OK, but to hope that vine will be enough for them! Umm, Chris, frankly speaking, no, not all of the cats have bells. When I don't see danger or when they are just kittens, I don't use it , as strict as I should. :shame: . Do it mostly for the 'criminal group' from my adult cats. But I'm more vigilant these few days.
I think I wouldn't surprise anybody confessing that, because of the lovely weather I was lazy and not organised at the beginning of the week, so next days will be very busy for me. But honestly I'm feeling too sleepy. I was on dog walk, have smelly cup of coffee, list and good intentions... but oh, I'm still so sleepy. Will see where the whole thing will go  .

Chris, I often think that fate punish us for when we was difficult teenager by making our parents headstrong with the age. Hope the appt of your mother to went fine! Sorry to hear about the terrible nightmare, but it's not surprising with all this stress! Oh, to have walk and talk for plants sounds so lovely. I know you are very proud with your boy, and you should be! Totally should.

Trudy, the paint is amazing! Beautiful!!! Waves are so passionate, stormy, I don't know why but my association is for Odyssey. Now with the preschool I bet that Hunter have ton of stories! I join to the others with wishes for good weather for your hike!

Jean, thanks for the explanation about transcribing! Everytime I'm surprising how people are keep and care for these documents so many years! It's so intriguing to work with them! I remember Nancy was told me she have old diaries from her family.

Nancy, OMG, these seats sounds awesome, so close to the pulse of the team! But how strange about the backpack rules not properly announced.

Rae, , enjoy your quiet time and I hope it to lasts for a long! I'm so excited to see here and on Instagram what beauty you'll be able to catch soon at these autumn colors!

Kae, apple crisp sounds delicious, enjoy it! So you exchange fruits with your neighbor, how useful and kind, lovely!
