Daily Ooos: Tuesday, October 7

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Okay, I double-checked, and it is indeed Tuesday. I feel more out of sync than usual this morning. (Is it morning? Sure is dark outside!) But yeah, I got it right today. :D
After being away for a few days, not cleaning for my friend on Wednesday, and then working on Sunday, I feel discombobulated. Thank goodness for calendars and to-do lists. I stuck to my to-do list and got everything done that I needed to. I am not working today either so I spread some of the tasks over yesterday and today, so I didn't burn myself out all at once. Who me? I would never, ever do that.

First thing this morning-- pick up groceries and prescriptions. After that, study up for the new field trip program I am working on tomorrow. This one is about green infrastructure. We take the class on a tour of the different green areas at Weis (Rain Garden, Raised Bed Garden, Water Collection area, and the Pollinator Garden) and they have activities to complete at each setting. After that, they will design a "Snack Shack" using all of the green architecture and landscaping features they learned about on the tour. I have never done this one and am not sure if I am leading the group or if one of the interns will be. You all know me, I like to be prepared so the more I know, the less anxious I am.

Gary brought down a few boxes of Halloween decorations from the attic. Not sure if Cait and Tom will have any time to decorate, she is getting a Rat-too this afternoon. He is taking her to the shop where he works and his boss is doing the tattoo. It is a rat surrounded by swirls and flowers- it is very pretty.
It's crazy that we are already 1 week into October and the house isn't decorated yet. Usually, we do that in mid-September.Garty put a few things on the lawn. Vic and Moe (lawnmower man) are up and our family skeleton, Braxton, has new mechanical wings this year.
I'll try to get a picture to share soon.

Have fun today!

Good morning,
Not much going on today. Pick up my grocery order and make the deposit and drop off my "collection" at the doctor office. Waiting to hear back from her whether we need to do another urine test before I start on the antibiotics. I hope she says yes.
Anyway, hope you have a great day.
Any word from the doctor?
Any scrap inspiration? I finally did the AJ Week 1 challenge. I stopped overthinking and just went for it.

Went down the rabbit hole last night. Decided that I need a new laptop and going back to PSE.
And there she is, getting ready to scrap again! Any chance this means you are coming back as a Cheery O, too? :praying2:
Sure feels good to be back to almost normal scrapping-wise.

dance3:motorcycle::claphands:

ETA: the balloons didn't come my way... they stayed toward the east side!!! :(
I bet it feels great to be feeling better and more creative every day.
My goodness, the balloons are being so uncooperative! Maybe today??
Well hello ladies, I'm feeling a little better but not 100% so I will check with Dr today.
I hope that you are back to 100% by now and if not, the doctor was able to help.
Glad that you enjoy my kids and nature stories. I love learning and teaching--how lucky I am to have a job that does both ♥
Oh no, sorry to hear her iron is low. Do you cook with cast iron? I have heard its a great way to get some iron into the diet.
I have a few cast-iron skillets. I don't use them all of the time but I should start again. When Scott was a baby, he was severely anemic and I boiled water in a cast-iron pot to make his cereal and formula once I weaned him.
Me too!!! I have an idea but to actually sit down and start to work on it, my mind goes totally blank. I love the theme, risk, and I love the layout Susie made but my mind has stumped me.
The last few topics for the AJ have been trickier for me, but I just went with it yesterday and took that risk LOL
You probably made a few "outdoor" girls out of them with all the cool stuff you showed them.
I sure hope so! I got the *best* feedback on Friday from one of the chaperones. One of the girls on the HS Pod Trip told the mom that she had "found her passion" after the lesson on bird migration and birdwatching. If that isn't the awesome-est -- I don't know what is. :wehaveawinner:

Good evening all. Three more sleeps until no more work! I usually have paper chains made for all big countdowns but I made this decision so quickly that I didn't even have time for a paper chain!
What?? No paper chain?? *G* You sound so excited and happy with your decision. yipppeeeee!
but I'm trying to act young and try new things. Anyway, the new laptop arrives on Wednesday.
Is it working? Acting young and trying new things? Let me know how it works out so I can do the same!
But what I really love is the Harmony in the Highlands Nature Retreat.
TY so much! When I saw the ad for it, I almost fell over, they did an incredible job with it. And I know it is going to be so nerve-wracking prepping for it, but I think it's going to be wonderful. I am doing a session on Aromatherapy. I made three different essential oil blends and am waiting to see which one is the favorite of the staff. Then I'll make enough to diffuse during the Himalayan Bowl session. After everyone is relaxed by the bowls, I'll do a rundown of what oils I used, the properties of each oil. and how they work.
I am so happy that the girls are good, but sad that they are getting older. Mine too-- both of them are so grey in their faces.
Hi Everyone,
@faerywings I love your love of nature and how you get so excited about all of it! It's so cool that your job is what you love. You'll never work a day!
Thank you, and for real! I was telling someone yesterday that I get to teach little kids (yay), outdoors and about nature (double yay), *and* get paid for that (YAY!!!) :D
How awesome that your sister is crewing a balloon team! I bet she gets some incredible photos.
Hope you and DH and your girls are all doing great!

Good morning. Starting my morning in here reminds me of the days when I needed to get up before the kids and getting ready for work just to get my Daily O's done. Now I work from home so no commute and no getting dressed up. I am going to dinner with a friend tonight so I will try to take some care with how I dress for the day. :giggle4:

So I think that I mentioned that one of the things that I want to do as a retired person is to have some nice gardens. So I've got some peonies ordered and I'm going to plant crocus in the front of the bed. The challenge is that I need a bed. I've marked the place in the front yard along the side...it's 20' x 3'. And I had a guy give me a quote yesterday. It was $510. All he is doing is lifting the sod and adding compost. But I sure don't think that I can do that anymore. But while I was discussing it with Brian and Shaun at supper, Shaun said I will do it for less. I said, well if you will do it for $300, you've got the job. Now, the kid had worked a full day but he went out and got to work. I told him it didn't need to be done for a week. It was completely dark, it was damp from raining off and on all day, and it was chilly. He stayed out there until it was all done. I told him that I would transfer money into his account and he said, "No. It's your birthday present." (My birthday is Friday, which is also my first day of retirement!!!)

I'm so proud of this kid. We had some rocky years when he was young...for some really good reasons. His first 4 1/2 years of life were a challenge (before we adopted him)! And he didn't really like women. But, boy has all of that changed. I am blessed beyond measure!

And there she is, getting ready to scrap again! Any chance this means you are coming back as a Cheery O, too? :praying2:
@faerywings well, I won't lie. I'm kind of hoping so. But either way, I'm here! I have so many things that still need scrapped! And now I have some time!

Anyway, that is my sappy story for today. Now, I'm off to get ready for work. Because I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Oh how I love the sound of that.:yesss:

It's always better to be overly prepared than to have to wing it, in my humble opinion!

I was not home much yesterday and still no inspiration.
Doctor says the urine was normal even though that's not how I translated the report. We shall see!

Aww! What a sweet kid your son is! And your birthday is 2 days after mine! Happy birthday early (because I know I will forget by tomorrow)! ;)

Good morning,
Waiting for Dorothy in the Waiting room at the VA clinic. She has one of those utis that is resistant to antibiotics. She has had a rough time.

Yesterday after the errands and lunch with mark, I decided I was going to Ilene's, but she wasn't home when I called. So I prepared my widows' email for scheduled release this morning reminding them of our fall startup for next week.

Ilene called me back around 2:30 so I went to her house until about 5:30 since Mark was going to work on the cabin porch roof. It's ready for the tin!

Not sure what I will be doing when I get home. I hope to be home in time to go to lunch with Mark. We shall see.

HAGD

Morning, gals. It is a beautiful cool morning (60'). Another day with the balloons staying on the east side. Guess this is going to be a year when they don't head our way. I am up and dressed early waiting for the Pest guy to arrive. I have a few errands to run but need to wait until he gets here and does his work before I leave the house.

I did get a few chores done yesterday... :housekeeping: Put all the bins back under the kitchen sink (and threw out a bunch of out-dated cleaners). Nice to have the kitchen looking back to normal again!!! Changed the sheets in the guest room and got them washed/put away. Not quite as tired after getting that done... but I did rest in between chores. Pulled out a blanket to put on the guest room bed only to discover it was shredding all along the top edge... so guess it is time to buy a couple of new blankets.... along with new mattress covers (for both beds). And will be changing the summer comforter (on my bed) to the heavier winter one.

Good Morning!

After being away for a few days, not cleaning for my friend on Wednesday, and then working on Sunday, I feel discombobulated.
Isn't it crazy how fast we can get the schedule of days off track? One day off and the world goes sideways. At least mine does.

He stayed out there until it was all done. I told him that I would transfer money into his account and he said, "No. It's your birthday present." (My birthday is Friday, which is also my first day of retirement!!!)
Awwww what a sweet young man. What a blessing.

@vickyday Vicky, Linda and I are all birthday week buddies! I was Sunday, Vicky is Wednesday, and Linda is Friday, (If I read and mathed correctly). No wonder we get along! :heartpumppink: :giggle4: :heartpumppink:

@BrightEyes Kay I am sorry your missing the balloons this year. That's a tad disappointing I am sure.

Not much...... yeah cant even type that and make it believable LOL Several appointments today but they're good ones. Massage, she will see bruises and hopefully understand to be a tad gentler than last week, then chiropractor!!! Cant wait to get cracked. So ready for my back not to be tight and that just about to but wont crack feeling to be gone! Then the dreaded grocery store. Then race home and figure out what the heck to make for dinner. I bought groceries but didn't make a menu so its crazy and unplanned and killing me. I am not doing well with no menu to follow.

Well, must finish coffee and get my day started. Have a wonderful day Ladies!

@faerywings I saw the Weiss ad on FB... wow... makes me want to sign up. Too bad it is so far away for me to attend. I love hearing about your adventures there.

@mimes1 Is your sister crewing the balloon here in Albuquerque??? And is she in the balloon or ground crew or chase crew?? My sister and her hubby were ground crew for the Wells Fargo (stagecoach balloon) for several years before we moved here. They loved it.

@AK_Tracy Hope the chiropractor gets the back to feeling better. I have to :floorlaugh: as I never have menus planned out - but then again, there is just me now... no family to feed .... so I buy what I normally buy and wing it. Bet you will do just fine with what you bought.

@vickyday WOW... your hubby is quite the builder. Love seeing the cabin as he keeps adding to it. Hope you get time to go to lunch with him today. And an early Happy Birthday to you.

@LSlycord what a wonderful present your son gave you... such a treasure he is. BTW, Happy Birthday (early). Oh... hope you decide to join the OTeam again.

You can :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: But with no plan, I dont plan. Nothing gets thawed. Nothing gets started. Its just crap I gotta feed five in ten minutes. My days tend to get going fast and then I forget if I dont have a written plan. The biggest issue is that I bought what I thought we were out of so I have 3/4 of everything to make many meals but not everything to complete them LOL. Oh well, we are not gonna starve so its all good.
