do doo, do doooo! A "weird time-flying but not really" feeling happening here. On the one hand, I am shocked that it is the end of the month. OTOH, is it *really* only Tuesday??

Yesterday was such a long day. Part of it was that we waited all day for Gary's parents to stop by at 4.30. Part of it was... I don't even know! We never made it out for pumpkins since Cait was sick and Scott was working on his project and didn't make it home until after I went to bed. I made Mickey Mouse Halloween cookies instead. My SIL Kathy gave the kids a kit to make them but no one had time for that either. They are orange, purple, green and I decorated them to look like Frankenstein, Dracula, and a few other mismatched, poorly excited "costumes." I tried for a pirate and something that looks like a demented bear. LOL

I am food shopping this morning and I am going to be hobbling around a bit. When I had W outside in the afternoon, she dragged me a bit and I stubbed my toes into the side of the garden. I don't think I broke my toe, but it is all bruised and doesn't want to bend with the others.

Hope that all of you have a fabulous day!

Nancy- it is good and important to have people around you who know and care about this country. And of course, it is wonderful when they have fun with you at hockey events. :)
Good question, what will you do with no home games for a while? Lots of scrap time.

Trudy- what a celebration of life it must have been for your friend's father. We need more people like him in the world.
Did you have a nice dinner with your brother? Will he is in AU that whole time?

Thanks for asking about Gary- he was better today and the new insulin pump gives "warnings" when his sugar is over or under a certain level so maybe he won't experience the high sugar that makes his stomach much worse.

Rae-awesome news about the wedding photos being done, I bet that are gorgeous!
It seems harder and harder to find the positive in life but yes, you are right that we have to keep looking for it and focusing on it.

good morning - the sun is shining and it is supposed to be in the mid 60s Wed and Thursday it will be near 70. Yea! And no rain. Yesterday got a few errands done and while picking up prescriptions I got my flu shot. Made a yummy chicken dinner with very Indian flavors. Made the kitchen smell so good. Boys loved it. Today my Devils are playing the Lightning so it will be fun to watch them. I had the weirdest dream. I was in France and met a friend and we decided to go to school in Paris. She had relatives that were going to let us stay in their home as they were not going to be there. They said it did not matter that I knew no French I could learn it over the summer. LOL. I have no idea where this came from.

Chris sorry such a long day. The cookies sounds like fun. My DH made peanut butter cookies and they were so good. I love cookies! But darn they do not love me. They are the one food I find it hard to say no to. Hope shopping goes well. Sounds like Gary's new pump should keep his insulin under better control. Hope Cait feels better.

Trudy how wonderful to have a funeral that is actually a celebration of life. He sounds like a special person indeed. Glad your Gary got to reunite with former friends. Hard to believe it has been that long. I have to get to work on my calendar too.

Rae congrats on finishing the editing of the wedding photos. That is a big job! I love seeing your fall photos in Facebook. Good luck in catching up with all the work.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Taz and I went out for a jog this morning at 7:30. It was nice to get out so early and breath in the fresh morning air and warm my muscles up. I had a nice hot shower and now am ready to start my work day. I had a 1/2 chat with B on the phone yesterday afternoon. She loves listening to me talk about food, scrapping and tv/movies/books with her. I told her the premise of 12 Monkeys and how it ended and how it affected me. She was almost crying too lol. Then I explained the book I am reading (When We Found Home) and she got all excited about that too. I love that we share a lot of the same passions together. I'm glad that she is able to use a phone there (they keep a list of phone numbers to provide to her), they have a small table and phone in the hallway for the patients to use. I baked up some spaghetti squash yesterday with avocado oil, seasoned salt, garlic and tumeric, D had noodles and I had the squash with spaghetti sauce. Yum. Today will be roasted root veggies, peppers and chicken italian spiced sausages with a salad. I need to rice up the cauli that I bought a few days ago on sale, bag it and get it into the freezer. I'll pick some more up if on sale this week to freeze for the winter.

Chris - ouch. Sorry to hear you stubbed your toe. I need to make a batch of low carb cookies. I've eaten all my frozen stash of goodies. I think I'd better get a few batches baked this wkend.

Nancy - maybe the dream means you are feeling the travel bug again LOL.

I'm getting to work now and hope to work on my 52 Inspirations challenge later at lunch time. But that means I'd better get my nose to the grindstone if I want to take a break later.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good late morning ladies... I was facetiming with Heather and Hunter, she called just as I was about to start my post here. So everyone beat me to this thread this morning LOL. Oh well I like to start my day here and catch up with all of you! Hunter is going back to the doctor today, he still has a bad rattle in his lungs. Poor little man, sure hope that they can get him all fixed up! The kids are excited for Halloween of course, Mason will be dressed as Pikachu he is a huge Pokemon fan LOL. Hunter is going to be Elmo. So cute, I can't wait to see pictures. Hope to facetime with Isaac and Sadie before they head out on Halloween night and see their costumes too! Sure wish we were all so much closer! I better get to personals so I can get to the pool.

Chris - Glad that Gary's new pump is keeping better track of his sugar levels! Hopefully it will help with the stomach issues!! Last nights visit was very nice, we will miss my brother and SIL a lot until after the New Year! They are spending a week or so in Vanuatu to relax and soak up the sun, then they will be staying with the kids on the Gold Coast, going between their daughters place in Lennox Head and their son's new place. Not sure exactly what place they are in but they are only 1 hr apart from one another. They are very excited to see the four grandkids again! Ouch on the bumping of your toe!! Hope it heals quickly and you can get movement in it again soon!

Nancy - What a strange dream, perhaps a trip to France is in your near future?? Wouldn't that be strange if your sister suggested that as your next trip together? Hope you get started on your calendar today. I forgot to post my January page yesterday, so I need to do that today too.

Rae - It sounds like B is improving a bit? It is great that you can talk to her on the phone and the fact that she loves to hear you talk about all those things is such a wonderful thing! Good for you for getting out so early with Taz! I was still dragging my butt out of bed at that time of the morning LOL. I spent over an hour at 4am thinking about what the heck I should get for our son's 40th birthday coming up in December. I have no ideas!! All your baking sounds so yummy! I hope you get all those things done along with your work!

Ok I better get my lazy bones to the pool, before it gets to darn late and too busy there. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Good Morning Scrappers. Well right now I'm in So Cal working from home looking out the window at the start of a sunny day thinking about taking my dog on a walk after work. Can't wait. I know and the day is only starting - I think ahead too much.

Speaking about thinking ahead, I'm so excited that in a few weeks I'll be heading home to Washington for two or three months. Looking forward to the brisk fall and winter air and spending time with my kids, grandkids and parents. I'm very fortunate that we still own our home in WA and that I can commute between states. My parents are getting up there (dad 91, mom 87) and slowing down just a teensy weensy bit and with three acres they can use all the help we can give them.

Well everyone have a great day doing great things. Ciao.

It has turned into a beautiful sunny day and maybe not quite so chilly. We plan to fill in our ballots and mail them in a bit then run some errands. Wishing there were still another baseball game, but that season is gone.

Chris, oh, your poor toe! Hope it is OK. If the insulin pump gives G a better handle on the BGs that will be great. Give Cait gentle hugs from us all hoping she feels better. If Scott was working on the project late maybe it's coming together well.

Nancy, dreaming of living in France, eh? Sounds exciting, wonder where it came from. Even with Devils out of town, you at least get to watch them.

Rae, it sounds amazing that you can talk to B on the phone and have a good conversation. Seems like a huge step forward. Bet the wedding photos are stunning. Good luck with all that work.

Trudy, what fun getting to see the grands in costume. Bet they love showing off too. Hope the pool was quiet when you got there.

Kathy, how marvelous to commute between S.Cal and Washington. Bet your parents really do need and appreciate the help.
