Good morning to all of you and I hope that all of you were able to get through the day yesterday with love balancing out the sadness in the world. I tried very hard to keep my anger in check with only a few spillovers when discussing gun control with Gary.He is in the camp that if you institute any form of gun control, only the criminals will have guns. I find that to be BS and our current "solution" of more people with guns is obviously not working.
But what can you do? Our political system is so corrupt with lobbyist money that it seems hopeless. I will call and write my Members of Congress, but my Senators are already for smart gun control. I don't know how firm my Representative is on it, so he will have to be the one I focus on.

I did well at the supermarket yesterday. I like this new one I have gone to the last 2 weeks. It is smaller and some items are more expensive, but the people are very nice. The cashier told me my hair looked nice, thanked me 3 times for bagging, and let me know that the chicken's exp date was in 4 days.

Whisky did well at the vet's too. She has gained 2 more pounds in the last 2 weeks. The three dogs were playing at one point yesterday, running around the LR with a small rope in all of their mouths. W needs to learn to stay back when Ray growls at her because she tried to steal a toy and then Ray snapped a bit when she didn't back off. But we got it under control quickly so that was good.

Today I am off to work at my MILs house. Then I am meeting Cait at the Drs as moral support after I am done there. The family is going to be watching a Halloween movie together tonight. I am not sure which one, but Hocus Pocus is always at the top of the list.

Hope that you all have a super day!

October, WOW!, only quarter of year in front of me to finished my goals for this year. I check the list and I'm not even closer :eek2: . I have to ponder everything and tighten up. Yesterday spend the day at working in yard. So much to do at my garden, I'm feel like I'm late, but actually calendar told that is on time. I love to do this, and it was the autumn like I love it, was so warm. But the amplitude with the temperature after sun comes down is really big.

Nancy, I think I'll could myself to train the dogs better if I try, but I wasn't even think about that before, I don't see many advantage from ''give a paw'' and ''rolling over'' :), maybe we have to add ''sit down''. But they know this trick, when I say "Bring ....." and told concrete toy and they bring it. Oh, your story for upstairs cat is so sweet. Strange but I easier socialized my dogs with the cats than with the other dog.

Jean, I saw your 52 pages, lovely photos. I'll go to read it now.

Chris, have a fun movie night tonight, we all needs more love in these crazy times! I'm totally not scary movies fan. Except the "The Living and the Dead", which was really interest catching series, but of course the main merit was to Colin Morgan acting. Especially the pilot episode was so realistic. I really hate this ghost stories type "The Exorcist". I easy believe them and they let me insomniac. Which is pathetic, because demons belongs to the christians religion, so if you aren't christian they couldn't affect you. But who knows. :behindsofa:

Trudy and Rae, hope to have a lovely day!

Nancy- An attack Edmonton??? I missed that. Although I guess on a news day where 50+ are killed in minutes, any other news gets lost in the midst. /snark but not really snark :(

Trudy- I am sure that the photos were great! Sorry to hear that your butterfly bush needed to be taken down. I have a hard time doing that with my plants- I always want to give them a second, third, 100th chance :)

jean-Sending peace and love back to you! :hippie:

Rae- yes, there are 2 bills going through the House of Reps- one to reduce restrictions on silencers/suppressors, and the other re: armor-piercing bullets. You know for the deer that wear armor.
Hope that Bailey and Jen are better soon!

Felis- oh the images from Catalonia are also insane! So sad and brutal. I definitely got some fur-love from the rats and dogs yesterday and some more today too. Hope that you get that as well.

xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies... I am up far to early again this morning, but I got sick of tossing and turning ! I have enjoyed my first cup of coffee, so now will probably never get back to sleep  Oh well I am wide awake and lots to do today, so I may as well start early! I am sure that my DH will enjoy having his breakfast made for him this morning LOL. Well the world made it through the day yesterday and as far as I know there were no other tragedies?? I hope that we can all keep sending out positive and loving thoughts and hopefully it will make a difference! My day with SIL was good, the weather was perfect, warm and sunny. There were 24 riders all together for the Tour de Rock ride for Cancer, however the organizers were not very well prepared and it was chaotic. I did get some great photos of the riders and their sponsors but they were on such a time restriction that I only got about half of them. Oh well it is what it is and SIL was very happy! She says she will not help with this next year as the organizers were very hard to work with and very unorganized. Today I hope to get some scrapping done, get in a few laps at the pool and maybe even do a bit of painting ! I need to plan what food I need for Thanksgiving weekend coming up and then hit the grocery store in the next few days.

Chris - I am not sure what the answer is for your Country's gun laws, it seems far to easy to purchase guns there and really what on earth does anyone need an assault rifle for?? It all just makes no sense to me

. How nice that you have found a better place to do your shopping! Sometimes its worth the extra $$ to get the nice service ! Glad to hear that Whisky is gaining weight and fitting in better with the other dogs! She is a very lucky pup to have such caring owners! Yes the terroist attack in Edmonton got put on the back burner what a sad state of affairs for the world! But today I declare it to be anti sadness day!

Hope that your work at your MIL's goes well and that your are in better spirits today!

Felis - So much to do and yes the year is quickly flying by! I need to get started on my Calendars that I do each year for Christmas gifts, it always seems to sneak up on me and I scramble to get them done! Glad that your weather was nice enough to get out in the garden for a bit. Enjoy your evening!

Nancy, Rae and Jean -

I hope that you all slept much better than I did last night and I will catch up with you all a bit later!

I'm off soon for a genealogy group board meeting. Always lots needing thinking and trying to keep the group functioning and lively. I like Trudy's idea of an anti-sadness day! Here it is sunny, warm enough and I'll be seeing friends at the meeting. That sounds good to me. Like Scarlet O'Hara, I'll think about the rest tomorrow?

Chris, you are sounding more upbeat when not talking about the crazy-making things. Hope it continues!! Have fun watching the Halloween movie tonight. Only TV I'm looking forward to is the American League Wild Card game to see which team we play come Thursday, the Twins or Yankees.

Felis, thanks for the kind words on my week 38 pictures. Nice to hear you're getting time in the garden and really not behind schedule. I agree about scary/horror movies - not good for my head, I think.

Trudy, the pictures sound great. Too bad things were so not organized. Hope you have fun preparing for Thanksgiving. Gives us in US a chance to get in the mood ahead of time. Sure hope you not only get to scrap but also some painting time. I need to think in those terms too.

Nancy, Rae, all, hope things are going your way today!

morning - the one redeeming fact from yesterday was hearing about how many strangers were helping those in need. Humans are caring and compassionate in times of need. What we need to remember is that we are all in need all the time. Late coming today as I had to get Luther out and then had errands to run. But one awesome thing from yesterday is my son needed to talk and talk and so it was good to be able to listen to him and help him out. He understands that if you are going to hunt and eat what you hunt then a gun is appropriate but having a brother as a Marine he really knows that automatic or even semi automatic gun and high power ammo is not needed. And he did fixed my printer. And he did even more than I would ever expected. He found a app for my phone that allows me to print photos directly. So awesome. And the printer is awesome. Now when I need to print out a page for an autograph I can. I am so happy.

Chris Gary's argument is one we always hear. Good though that you can disagree and not let it go further. Hope the doctor's visit goes well. Love hearing how well the dogs are doing together.

Trudy the bike ride sounds nice and I bet the your pictures look great. Too bad the event was such a hassle when it is such a good cause.

Jean I too will be watching the Yankees/Twins game tonight. Minnesota seems to have the Yankees number in that they have knocked the Yankees out.

Felis it is so funny but our dog really does not like cats. That is why I had to take him to training as he almost pulled me over when he went after a cat. As a person who never had a pet as a child I had no idea.

Rae hope things are good with everyone and you are really on the road to recovery!

Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. I've been busy this morning, getting some house chores done and sorting thru some desk work stuff. The rest of the wk will be busy for me as the other girl is away now til Monday so I'll be covering for the other doctor too. But hopefully I will manage to balance out the work, home stuff, meals and still get some "me" time by finishing up by dinner time so I can relax in the evening. I still don't feel 100% back to normal so am trying to just sit in my chair at night, relaxing for a few hrs and then getting to bed a bit earlier.

Chris - enjoy your movie night. That will lift all your spirits!
Trudy - can't wait to see the pics you took!
Nancy - so good that your son comes to you to talk things out. Such a good bond.
Jean - hope you come up with some good plans for your group.
Felis - how nice to get outdoors and get some yard work done. I always have yearly plans that never get completed each year end LOL. I can relate to how you feel :)

I'm getting out of here, grabbing another coffee and getting to work. Have a great day everyone!

Chris, accept my apologies that I'm posted between your two posts, I was hurry because I wasn't sure when I'll come back to home tonight, you wasn't online and I don't realize you probably write personal notes at this time.

And Nancy, I simply can not agree with your son's position about hunting. I have few british friends which try to convince me that this is tradition or kind of sport, and this upset me so much. Back at the time when people had only option to eat what they can to produce this maybe was justified at some point. But in modern word when you have access to food from around the world and at the same time the wild life have so limited territories because of the urbanisation, there is no excuse to take a life of someone for who you not even care, only feeling of ecstasy that hunters receive from the sense of supremacy. I always told to them: If you want to convince me that this is something naturally for your, prove it by running, chasing and killing with your own teeth and hands.
Don't accept it like a critique, please, this is just how I see the things. Of course in me have a big hypocrisy, because till I support the hospital for wild animals from many years, I don't have regrets to feed my pet with chickens from cages (I can't find meat from free-range) or like Jean make note to leave outdoors cats.
