What a gloomy day. Again. It rained all day here yesterday, mostly just drizzle, but everything is dark and damp. On the bright side, I am not dealing with snow and ice like Kay is.

I had a *very* productive day yesterday. I weighed the pork loin from the FP and it was 8 pounds! I sliced off one chink and have that marinating in an Asian sauce that will get roasted today to add to fried rice for tomorrow's dinner. Another chunk went into the crockpot with homemade BBQ sauce for pulled pork (dinner tonight) and the rest was roasted with rosemary, garlic, and dijon mustard for dinner last night. Gary and Scott were thrilled to eat meat. hehe. They tasted the pulled pork and Scott is actually *excited* for dinner tonight. I was given a head of cabbage as well from the FP so I am making homemade coleslaw too. I think the cooking I have done should count in my tally column for the next several weeks of not cooking. Everyone in favor: Aye!

Gary was able to talk to the LLMD who said that based on the way the tick bite looked and felt that she suspects it carried Bartonella. He has been treated for that before (many times) buit the abx he was on weren't the right ones so she switched that up. It really never ends and I wish it would.

My parents are coming up this afternoon. We will be all bundled up for the visit. I was wondering about buying a patio heater but Gary said the electric ones wouldn't work. I don't know much about gas/propane(?) ones, but it is going to make for a very long winter not getting to see people.
Other than the visit with them, not too much happening. I will finish my food shopping order and make the coleslaw.

Wishing you all a happy happy day!

Nancy- At this point in time, it is a good thing to lose yourself in tv shows. Keep up the walking!! You do have your act together, more than I do for sure LOL

Kay- how was the storm? No problems with power, I hope. How nice to have a family chat, is everyone well? And how is your sister feeling, all recovered from COVID? The rest of the family too?

Trudy- any day that you can get out is a good, productive day even if it is just to Home Depot LOL I am so happy that you enjoyed your steak, bet it tastes even better when you aren't the one cooking.
Drug addiction is such a horrible thing. It is hurting so many of the people he left behind that wish they could have gotten him to stop using, many of them recovering addicts themselves. :(
My page isn't in the Gallery yet- Friday it will be.
I hear ya on how some of the younger people are acting. My niece is the same way and it makes me crazy. Sure, she and her family don't have the same risks as mine but it doesn't really seem to matter much.
How did you do with your calendar pages?

Rae- What chores did you come up with for D to do to stay out of your hair?:D
Departure... What is that about, it sounds sort of familiar?
I am sending more healing thoughts to you.
We have a well and very bad water pressure- and my goodness, if someone washes their hands or runs the water, you can always tell when you are in the shower.

Vicky- welcome to the O and the C-O team!
I am glad to hear that you are being safe and smart with your church. My dad had a really hard time in the beginning not going to Mass but now he has gotten into the routine of attending Virtual Mass. I am sure that it has to be hard for Catholics to not receive the Eucharist (do other religions have that too? I know that Transubstantiation is a big Catholic belief, not sure about others?).

Cheryl- HUGS~~~~~~~
Any news about Braden's GF? I guess it will take a while to get results back. It is scary when people who don't have health issues don't take things seriously. In the very beginning, so many people didn't understand why I was 100% freaked out for my family, esp for Gary and Caitlyn. Even now, Scott gets it from some of his friends. But if you have a messed up immune system already, it is pretty darn scary to wonder about the "what ifs." I hope that your family stays healthy and that your DH does too. It is hard not to stress over it. As you can tell by my non-stop, anxiety-ridden dreams
I hope that you had a decent day and if you did end up eating all day it was only healthy foods. Like chocolate.

Love to everyone!

Woke up to 8 1/2" of snow under the pergola on the back patio this morning... and it is still snowing. Forecast is for snow most of today and into tomorrow with us getting 12"-16". I posted a few photos of the back patio on my FB page if you want to see them. Looks like the cars on our street got about a foot of snow on them. This is really early in the season to get this much snow. I am definitely not going anywhere until it melts. It reminds me of the huge snow storm we got in late Oct 2000... had 18" in that one. Turned the heat on yesterday for the 1st time... and glad to have it as it 22* outside. Brrrr.... digging out sweats to wear. Working on winnowing down the kits/collection from the computer. Figured out that I could copy about 4-5 DVDs then started having problems with formatting the disks. Think that is because the DVD drive gets hot. So that will slow down the process quite a bit.

Chris, my sister is still having after-effects of Covid... still on supplemental oxygen, not much stamina, and gets tired quickly.
I know it is hard to not see family - that is why we do the family chat on-line each week. And we talk on the phone quite abit. Hope you can work out what you are comfortable with vis a vis family visits.

Hey, VickyD... so glad to have you as part of the CT here. Glad to hear you are being cautious about getting together with others.

Cheryl, are you getting the snow in your area??

Gotta get some more coffee and get dressed. CYL

Good morning ladies... It is so dark outside and I hate that I have to have all the lights on in the house this early in the morning. Oh well like Chris said at least I am not dealing with freezing rain storms! I will try to get this posted before Heather and Hunter face time me this morning. It will be good to hear how their weekend was and how Heather's alone day went! Off to swimming today. I am not so sure I like going when I do, its from 12-1pm and then by the time I get home and shower etc the afternoon is shot. Oh well I guess it really doesn't matter what time I go as long as I go right? I will just have to be more productive in the mornings. I started a layout for the template challenge yesterday, got that about half done and then a calendar page that is half done, Halloween cards are half done. I really need to just finish things today LOL. I also have to get a parcel ready to mail today. I get one more free shipping day from Canada Post so I am sending the grands some Advent Calendars. Wish I was more organized and had my Christmas gifts purchased then I could send those out for free. :mmph:

Chris - We have a propane heater on our lower front porch and we love it! It doesn't work so well when there is a lot of wind, but on a nice calm day/evening it is so nice!! You just have to make sure it is not too close to a window, my brother had to replace one of his because he had it too close and it broke the seal. They are so cozy and warm to sit under though. How great that you will have so many yummy meals from that pork that you got!! I love pork roast and I bet the guys are really happy to eating it! I raise my hand and say aye to your no cooking for a while! LOL. Sorry to hear that Gary will have to be on more meds for the tick bite, it really never ends does it!! Sending you lots of good vibes to all of you today! I have some good pictures to use for a couple of my calendar pages , so now I just have to get them finished and stop flitting around from one thing to another LOL.

Kay - Oh my goodness you have that much SNOW!! Ugh! Yup good idea to just stay home until it all melts away! Well hopefully it all melts away, it is way to early to have that much snow already! Hope you get all your DVD's done and that it doesn't take the entire day to do it! Sorry to hear that your sister is still suffering with the after effects from Covid. Sure hope she improves soon!

Ok I have a face time call coming in, so off I go... have a great day everyone!

Busy morning with CT work and desk work so just popping in for a quick hello.

D is out getting snow tires put on this morning and will organize his van (all his work supplies in there). I'm off to physio after lunch and just finished my morning stretches but took it a bit easier b/c I usually am a bit more sore after physio so didn't want to push myself. I'm feeling better which is good but I have to say, I will be really happy when I can sit cross legged on the floor again and be able to get up and down from a laying position without pain and stiffness.

Taz loves my morning stretches/strengthening. He thinks b/c I'm on the floor it means play time so he grabs toys and pushes them into my face and hands as I'm on the floor LOL. What a way to start my day :)

Chris - Departure has a good cast, it is about a plane crash and a survivor.

Gotta go, have a great day everyone.

Chris, thanks for the welcome!

Yes, while it is wise and prudent to be cautious with our health, especially the older folks, Proverbs 21:31 in the Bible says, "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD." So no matter how cautious we are, what is meant to be will be. I firmly believe this because I believe in the sovereignty of God.

The eucharist is a Catholic thing only, I believe, that they do during every mass?? I'm not sure because I am Baptist. We observe what we call, The Lord's Supper, but we don't do it every time we meet. We set aside a special time for it, usually once every 3 months.....except during COVID. We do not believe it turns into the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as, I believe, the Catholics do. We believe they (the unleavened bread and fruit of the vine) represent only the body and blood of the Lord. "Unleavened" represents His sinless self (leaven is a picture of sin in the Bible).

All of that being said, I feel for those older folks who cannot get out and go as usual, but are stuck (or feel stuck, or held captive in their own homes by their children) because of the fear of COVID! But that is another can of worms that I don't even want to open, LOL! Except, maybe I just opened it!:focus:

In other news.......the weather has been really cool here this week! It started with rain over the weekend and has been kinda dreary again today! The thing I hate about this weather is that it drives my sinuses insane and I suffer with headaches because of it! I'm fighting one today, unfortunately! But, so far, it isn't hindering my being on the computer, LOL!

Hi Everyone! I'm exhausted so checking in briefly.

I had a great time staying with my granddaughter's Monday until this morning. It's good to be home again, though.

The girls are teens now, 16 and 19. The oldest had to work yesterday, but I saw her in the morning, then again last night. It's such fun talking with them now that they are older about their jobs, the youngest grand's virtual school, etc. We watched a ton of movies, two I had not seen.

My faves were Mowgli, so loved it. Wouldn't it be incredible if animals could talk? The other fave movie was The Greatest Showman. Both movies are a couple years old, but I hadn't seen them. This one took me right back to my childhood, as the Barnum & Bailey Circus set up right across the street from my house in Florida, in a vacant lot. I had lots of stories to tell the girls about going to the circus as a kid. They were fascinated, hearing that I had "lived" the movie.

Chris - Sorry your hubby has to be on the meds due to the tick. Hope you enjoy your visit with you parents and y'all manage to stay warm.

Kay - Wow! So much snow. So sorry your sister is going through difficulties due to Covid. My DIL's sister, husband, and three grown daughters all had Covid and they said they had had colds that were worse. It's amazing how it effects people so differently.

Trudy - How I'd love to be able to go swimming. I have severe Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) so can't go into the pool due to the chemicals.

Rae - I have to get out of chat and get busy on my CT work too!

Vicky - It's great to have you on our O team, my friend. I've only been a part of it for about a week, but it's so much fun. I'm sure you'll enjoy it too. ♥

Love to you All,

Hello lovely Cheery-O's!

It's dark and dreary here, but at least it isn't raining today - it poured all day, as I reported, but it never stopped. It rained all night, too. Very soggy out there. I've seen a couple of trucks go by (heading up to the houses) and they drove through some pretty deep water.

Kay, we aren't getting any snow yet, but I see that it's in the forecast. It's supposed to remain cold for a couple of days, then warm up this weekend. I'd love to take that "Color Drive" and see the leaves this weekend. I'm not sure how we'll do that - maybe follow the others in our own car.

Chris, no results yet. We're keeping our distance from each other and it's killing me to not see the kids. I was pretty down in the dumps yesterday, I won't lie. I had trouble doing anything except scrapping. That seems to be my salvation. I can always lose myself in that. I tried to work on a project for Christmas and it was so hard.

Your pork loin sounds so good! I might have told you, but my parents used to always do that and they always had some cut of pork in their freezer. I do like pork - not much on beef, but I like pork.

Poor Gary - all of that over a stupid tick. I'm very paranoid about them and I know there's a possibility of them, especially on Daisy. She has a flea and tick color on, so hopefully, that will help.

Hope everybody has a "decent" day. Trudy, glad you can swim - it sounds delightful to just lose yourself in the water. I really wish I liked to swim. When I watch people swim, it just looks wonderful.

Betty Jo and Vicky - it's so nice to have you on the team.

Hugs to all of you.
