Welp, I never did make it back. I was busy practically non-stop yesterday and on top of that I was *exhausted.* I had Cait call Gary on the way home from the Dr's appt to put another pot of coffee on. I had to shake my head a few times to make sure I didn't close my eyes while I was driving and Cait and I were engaged in a Yawn-Off.

The DR chairs are done! They look really good if I do say so myself. I am nervous that we are going to scratch up the paint when we sit on them. I have to do a bit of research to see if I should/can put another coat of the sealing wax on them. I don't want to poly them and ruin the "glow" that the wax gives them.
Trudy-- you have used these before- any advice?

We had a fun time getting our pumpkins. I sat in the back of Scott's car and listened and smiled at him and Caitlyn being their ridiculous selves. They have some sort of psychic connection (as in we can never beat them at Pictionary LOL)-- but seriously, they really do and I love watching them in action. Such goofs. :D

I have to go food shopping today *groans* I really don't want to.
After that, I really need to clean my house, it is a big mess.

Wishing all of you a more exciting day than mine! Love to everyone.

Trudy- Remember the good old days when you could stay up until 2 am and be ready to roll a few hours later? Happy that you had a great time at the fest. I saw on Twitter that Trudeau won and American Twitter seems very happy. I hope that Ca is as well. At least that means we get some memes of Ivanka and Melania making goo-goo eyes at Trudeau for a while longer. *wink*
What is a shaker card? I like messy projects.
The weather here was perfect, I even went for a walk with BFFATS in the afternoon and was sweating when I got home. Sending the sunshine to you today~~
Did I ever share Caitlyn's take on 2 birds? She says "Feed two birds with one handful of birdseed." Much nicer!

Nancy- yesterday was a great day to get outside for PT! Hockey and knitting must be so relaxing while you heal. So happy for you!

Felis- I need to go back to read Sunday's Ooos. That is very sweet of your sister sending you pics of kitties and pumpkins. Caitlyn when to two parties this weekend and brought her rats to both. Little Livvie jumped off her shoulder at one point and ran through the dish of salsa. And when they were taking the group photo at the other party, the girls were moving from shoulder to shoulder. Everyone was loving them. I hope that makes you smile too!!

I have to chuckle that you all assumed that Caitlyn and I were going to the vet. Actually- she needed to go for her annual GYN exam but I guess historically speaking, the vet *would* be more likely :pound:

I need to get in the shower so I can go to ShopRite soon. (I don't wanna!!!)

Hugs!!

Morning...<< YAWN >>... Just got up and got a cup of coffee. I was so tired last night, I went to sleep at 8 PM and slept until 7 AM!!!! Guess I over-did yesterday. Went to the base to pick-up the refills on medicine then to the commissary [grocery store]. Unloaded and put away everything... then over to the Dollar store for the sink strainer and a few other items. Was disappointed that they were out of my favorite cookies - had Halloween candy instead. Then to WalMart for a few things. A cold wind was blowing so 60 felt like 40. I was cold and tired by the time I got home. The dawn is finally breaking... after 7 AM! More than ready to go off of Daylight Savings time.

Chris, glad you got the chairs done. Sounds like you need to take a day off... just kick back and relax. You have been working so hard.

Trudy, wow... beautiful painting!!! I like the 'pulled' paint on it. Different but beautiful.

Nancy, so glad you are doing so well.

Felis, sorry your mom isn't happy at her job.

Jean, your group sounds so interesting. A cousin of mine - on my mother's side - did the family genealogy several years ago. I never got a copy of it but did learn about the family history from him.

Need to get another cup of coffee and see if that wakes me up more. CYL

good morning - I slept so well. Shocking of course I had to wake up once just to go to the bathroom but went right back to sleep and not up until 7am this morning. My DH and I did my PT as this morning my in home therapist is not coming. He will only come on Wed and Friday and then he is done. Got more done on my knitting. Watched a lot of hockey. Today is the start of the World Series and I may watch some of that. Not much else going on. Cloudy and rain today yuck.

Chris - I am so laughing that we all including me thought you were off to the vet with Cait. Glad you did not fall asleep. That is too funny to see a rat running through the salsa. Glad that she is showing rats are not all that bad. Hope grocery shopping goes well and fast.

Kay I am so with you in that I need daylight in the morning but I hate giving up the sun in the afternoon. I can see why you were tired that was a lot of errands and driving. Glad you slept so well.

Trudy like Chris I see that Trudeau's party was elected again. Is this good for Canada? He seems to be moving the country forward.

Waving to all have a great day!

We've been having some wonderful, sunny weather and not even that chilly. This morning started dark and gloomy with some rain but is sunny again. Friday DH didn't feel up to a bird survey when the alarm went off so early but in the afternoon we spent two hours birding nearby and were so glad we did. Saw a number of fall migrants and really special was seeing a number of little birds called Winter Wrens. They are really little and quick and seeing them isn't always easy, but these were feeding along the edge of a pond and at one point we could see three at once. Such fun.
Saturday the computer genealogy group had a field trip to the downtown library's map collection and adjacent local history and genealogy area. DH got to see a book with a photo of his grandfather the family didn't know about until I found the book maybe 20 years ago and brought home a photocopy of the photo. Also found an incredible ethnographic atlas of Slovakia that we could tell a little about (we don't read Slovak) from the map labels in German. Fascinating. After, we all had lunch at a pizza place across the street. Hadn't been downtown in years, only a few times since I retired (I worked downtown.) It was pretty nice really. Sunday was watching football and Monday was usual stuff like paying bills.

Chris, as always, great stories about the rats. Can't imagine liking one of the girls running through the salsa though. Did Cait get pix? And how about some of the table and chairs now? So glad that all came together as you hoped. Next month is for painting the DR? Hope today's shopping wasn't too bad of a chore.

Kay, how nice you got lots of sleep in though not so nice that you were worn out the day before. But at least you got lots done.

Nancy, only two more at home PT visits? Wow, you sure are progressing quickly. Good for you! Is it easier this time with you and everyone having the experience of the first time? Hope the Devils keep on winning. We'll be watching World Series tonight and guess we'll be hoping Washington does well, but there are sure going to be some good starting pitchers in this series.

Trudy, sorry I'm missing seeing your paintings, but sounds like you've got more winners. Hope the election results are as you wanted and are good for Canada.

Felis, I too am sorry your mother is so stressed at work. Didn't she quit her last job because she was unhappy there? Too bad we can't get others to act the way we tell them, but it just doesn't work that way. How sweet of your sister to send happy photos to you. Your pumpkin time LO also looks happy, hope you're feeling some of that and enjoying the weather.

Morning ladies... I am very late getting in here this morning and now need to get to the pool soon, so this will be short! Well the Liberals are voted in again, not what DH and I were hoping for, but then we really did not like any of the candidates. Hopefully this being a minority govt. will keep Trudeau in line. I do not like to talk about politics, it always just seems to upset others or myself LOL. Anyway it was good to get out to vote. It is a foggy but beautiful morning and the sun will be shining for most of the day today and hopefully tomorrow for our hike. I will come back to catch up with everyone here after my swim and will try to get my page completed that I started yesterday. Got my third turtle painting resined and it looks great I will post a photo here for you soon. I will also post a pic of the one I did the other day so that Jean and Felis can see it too. Have a great morning everyone! I am off to the pool

Chris - As for you question about the wax sealer on your chairs, I found this. Annie Sloan Soft Wax, once hardened and cured, provides a durable finish that is easy to maintain. Apply two or three coats of Soft Wax for protection, allowing each coat to dry 24 hours before applying the next to get the extra durability you need. You can easily maintain your finish by simply wiping the surface with a soft cloth and mild soap and water, and refresh every now and again with a light application of wax as needed.
When scratches, stains, and watermarks happen to your wax finish, they are easily fixed with just a bit more wax rubbed into the marked area with a soft cloth.
I hope this helps you! Oh and a shaker card is a card that has some bling/glittery bits/sequins behind a little clear window on the front of the card. Fun but messy to make LOL. Yes I do remember the good old days when we could party hardy and be ready to go the next day with very little sleep. That was a long, long time ago LOL.

Kay - Wow you sure made up for all your lost sleep last night! Sounds like you had a very busy day though! Too bad that the store did not have your fav cookies darn it!! Hope that you have a lovely day today and thanks for the nice compliment on my painting!

Nancy - Good for you for doing your PT with your DH! I am so happy to hear that you are sleeping well and the knee is not keeping you awake at night! You will be running down the road after Luther before you know it!! Enjoy all of your sports and your knitting today! I suppose Trudeau being elected again shows that most of the country is happy with what he is doing, but he is putting this country into terrible debt and seems to be more interested in helping other countries and not paying attention to what is happening with his own. Hopefully the other parties will keep him in line now that there is a minority govt. :noidea:

Jean - How fun to see the Winter Wrens!! We do not have those birds here, but have other kinds of Wrens. Sounds like you had a wonderful visit to your downtown area and how fun for your DH to find a book with a photo of his Grandfather! So exciting! I will try to get a few photos of the latest paintings for you to see. Was browsing your blog and checking out your latest mixed media pieces and they are all amazing! Love the Ned Told Me So one!! Great work! Hope you have another lovely day!

Ok I will get busy and get my page done finally today! Have a great afternoon everyone!

Hi dears!
I'll have to fix my schedule, as past few days it's a little mess. Now I'm posting before to go to sleep instead in morning (I think I mentioned before that house is colder at mornings), but that means in some day, as today, I'm a little bit sleepily and feels stronger the language difference till l'm typing.

I don't know did you hear, or did you care, but Ireland abortion law was changed today. Now ladies can make alone their own decisions about their own bodies. Even I found abortion for very irresponsible and egoistic decision, I find it for more cruel to bring in this world someone who will be treated bad. Not everyone is good parent, and unfortunately I meet more often ladies with afterbirth depression. It's so scary and inexplicable for me, somehow you can fall in love with pet you know from week and give to it everything and then you are raised for nine months child and when you meet it you are upset and frustrated. It's a true story and she is very nice lady, and her family was able to help her to get her baby back at home, but I'm still a little bit suspicious about her skills. I don't know her in personal, just a friend of friend of friend, you know these stories, so I hope I'm wrong! I meet more and more single mothers, when things get ugly man just gone and the whole heavy load put on her shoulder. Yes law forced men to pay money for their children, but I think here have to exsist the same option: a woman to can quit and left the kid on its father without the public shame from this act!
I have lots and lots to share about that, but let's not bored you!

Chris, you just was talking about the abscess and how went to the vet with Caitlyn. I think that's why we understood you go there again. LOL. Love the story for the car traveling after getting your pumpkins! Oh and even more the salsa ran, I read it at the afternoon and I'm laugh a lot, thank you for share it! I don't think I'll allow someone on the table, no matter from which kind is, but it's not sounds as Livvie is wait for permission. They act so much as every other pet! I mean in my eyes they are still kind of wild creatures, so it's unexpected and cute how much hommy they can be. My opinion is changed a lot after I met you and Cait, and they are definitely the kind which is better protected as pet instead in natural habitat. In Bulgaria got talent one lady with dog going to the next level, and I was telling here that you showed me the similar clip with rat.

Kay, lots of good job done, I bet you was satisfied, so what better prise than good sleep!

Nancy, do you plan to go on swim therapy this time too?

Trudy, if you post the turtle painting on Instagram I'll see it there, but I think you should post it here too! I love your Hunter, so handsome! Great page!

Jean, I'm so happy to see your post today! Few times we are diverging and post in different days  ! I'll have to repeat my question as I'm very curious about that: I'm confused from your new scrap layout. Is that real chipmunk or just sculpture? It's looks so realistic, but what she did in this bird bath?
It sound like the not happened alarm is makes you actually favor, as it must be lovely to see these migrants birds! See it, I'm always repeat that in my opinion genealogy is detective work, how exciting to found this unknown photo! About the atlas, wasn't you or was Nancy, that told me once that there is a programs who can copy the scan page back to text and then whit google translate to learn at least partly what the Slovak's text say?!
Yep, you're right ,this will be another job that my mom will change for less than year. She was fired on a New Years Eve, for mistake that in other days end just with fine. Earlier she was quit her 2 part time jobs specially to can go to this full time job for less money but with retirement points. She is in bad set and this will looks awful on her CV, which makes her even more upset.
Oh, the pumpkin decoration is exactly one of these photos that my sister sent to me.

Felis, hope you see this reply about the chipmunk. It was a very real animal. I'm sure it wanted some water just like the birds and other animals. At the time there wasn't much water but we have a little overhead pipe that drips in water and some birds use it as a drinking fountain. And it froze like that because it was wary of me being in the yard with a camera.

Jean, thank you for your time! I really appreciate it and please excuse me that I waste it!
This is cringey moment for me, so embarrassed :embarassed: ! I was look at this layout about 3-5 times in wonder, and wasn't saw that it have a text which explain everything! So sorry!

Next time just write: "Felis, THERE IS TEXT ON THE PAGE", and I'll know that the caps lock is not shouting, but it is because of my poor eyes!

I'm really impressed from this photo and how static the chipmunk is! It must be so fun to have them around!
