Good morning-- yes it is safe to come back into this thread. I feel a bit better than I did yesterday, whew! I was "off" all day long.

The family had some small victories- Scott's laptop might just need a new battery which is much less expensive than replacing the motherboard. He should be able to pick it up after school today. His group came over in the afternoon and were able to get a lot of work done so that also made him relieved. Caitlyn and I worked on her insurance application but we didn't get too far but we will do that today.
My teeth are ok too- my gums are sore, however. Boo!

Gary, Cait, and I looked at the pictures that my ILs gave him. It was neat not only getting to see them through the years (oh boy the 70's had some interesting clothes and hairstyles) which included so many pics of the g-kids, but also to see how they view the family. It is a different perspective in a way if that makes sense. Like this-- there were pictures of my wedding, why would that be an important day for them, well-- then DUH!!! *slaps forehead* as if I wouldn't be thrilled to show photos of Scott and Leah getting married (someday... ;) ) Sometimes I am so darn silly as if I don't matter to other people.

Off to food shop today and then I have to work on (guess what...) getting myself more organized. I am so tired of being half-a**ed all of the time.
(sorry-- I couldn't think of a better phrase for it ATM)
It is going to be cold and dry so I am thinking that I am going to take W for a walk later on too.

xoxo

Nancy- maybe you are feeling better by today? My eyes are beet red too but that is from allergies.
Woohoo, Devils-- good job! It has been a long time since I drank too much and felt that badly the day after and I intend to keep it that way.
Maybe you will be able to get out in the sun today too.

Dog walkers- a question for you- If I really want to keep taking W for walks, what kind of "bundling" is best? I hate being so cold, then working up a sweat in the cold, then being really cold again as soon as I stop walking. I have such a hard time regulating my body temp as it is but going from warm to cold to sweaty to cold is brutal for me. Would love your tips!!

Trudy- oh no! I was looking forward to your pictures from the dance. But it sounds like a really fun time. How is your MIL feeling? You have a busy time ahead getting everything settled at their house for winter. but with lots of people working together, it should go quickly.

Jean- So excited for you for the e-book. You are so smart and well informed and I adore that you share that with others.

Rae- Gary bought a dehydrator years ago and we use it for drying herbs, fruits, making treats for the dogs from sweet potatoes and chicken liver (BARF!!!). Love that you have your b-day presents all picked out. I love hearing about these instant pots. They sound like a dream come true.

Morning everyone... it is early for me to be up, but maybe, just maybe I will get something accomplished here at home today? Black outside and a bit frosty, trying to decide if I should hit the lap pool this early in morning or not. I really don't want to go outside right now, but maybe the pool won't be so busy. Yesterday went very well, one of MIL's friends and her husband were there to help out with the garden so many hands made for quick work and we had it all done in just under 2 hours. MIL has a huge dahlia garden. The bonus was we all got to take many blossoms home to have in the house. They are so pretty! Then we made lunch for everyone and as I looked around the house I saw that FIL hadn't lifted a finger to even try to clean up after himself Uggh!! So out came the vacuum cleaner and SIL got the bathroom cleaned (glad it was her and not me LOL) I washed the kitchen floor after vacuuming and then stripped the bed and put on clean sheets. Put in a load of :washing: and picked up all the things that he just drops and leaves on the floor...REALLY?? But I guess MIL created a monster by doing everything for him for all those years  Anyway he was very appreciative for all of the help. It was a good thing we got the house cleaned because as we were ready to leave the hospital phoned to say that he could come and take MIL home, she was being released. Hooray!! Try as we might we could not convince FIL to get his huge boat out of the water while the weather was nice and while he had help to do it. He says that he wants to go fishing, but OMG he hasn't taken that boat out all summer long!! WTH? no one is going to come in November when the storms hit and its cold and pouring rain to get that dam boat out of the water. I just don't understand why he is so stubborn!! Oh well I will let DH deal with his father :mmph: I have to hit the grocery store sometime today and pick up the things I need to make lasagna for MIL and FIL, she won't be able to do to much for a few days and FIL is no cook, so I will drop that off to them on Wednesday when I go up that way for our hike tomorrow. I will see if they need anything done while I am there.

Chris - Yes its safe to come out from behind that sofa LOL! Always a safe place to be, no need to be afraid. You have to read all about my rantings, so don't worry about scaring us off :becky: We are family and here for each other! Glad to hear that Scotts laptop won't be too expensive to get working again and that his group stepped up and got lots done! Hopefully you can get Caits insurance all figured out today! That is the worst part of getting your teeth cleaned is the tenderness of your gums Ouch!! I usually take some Ibuprofen before I go to the dentist and it really seems to help!

Nancy - Oh nooo, not pink eye now too!! Poor you! I hope that you will soon be much better, good for you for getting to the doctor right away. Take care of you!!

Jean - Wow you are amazing! Creating your own e-book, that is awesome you are so smart!! Yes it is nice to know that MIL is now at home and she called me last night to thank me for all that we did, so nice! I just hope that FIL does not expect her to just get back in the kitchen and cook for him for a bit LOL.

Rae - Hope you find the dehydrator you are looking for! Have you ever used VarageSale? it seems to really work well for me. Glad that you and Taz are out enjoying the beautiful warm sunny days by jogging together, it looks to be another lovely day today!

Ok I need to get the bed made and empty the dishwasher before DD calls to facetime this morning. I also need to figure out how come my spell check does not work on google chrome, it is driving me crazy, it works fine with safari but does not work at all on my Chrome browser, any suggestions ladies??

good late morning - I am enjoying another slow day. Yes I do have pink eye LOL and a bad cold but she gave me prescription cough medicine so that helps so much as I can sleep at night. This also made my day and it so cracks me up. The NHL had done a series called Behind the Glass on the preseason training camp of my Devils. Well the last episode was last night and it featured the game in Sweden. OMgosh I made the tape. I cant tell you how crazy it was to see myself yelling for the Devils before the game. We knew they taped us yelling but you never know what of the footage the will select. But I am right there. I even got a text from the woman that sits next to me at the Rock as she took a screen shot and sent it to me. I am now even happier now that I went to the game. It cracks me up how such little things can make me so happy! And in that episode I could see spots in the city where my sister and I went so that was cool to recognize these places. Now that my eyes are getting better I can get back to scrapping. Tonight is another home hockey game. The Devils are playing the Dallas Stars. I love hockey!

Chris glad that you are out from behind the sofa. As for walking the dog. I would look for hand warmers and not over dress so that you do not sweat but if your hands are warm I bet you are not so cold to begin the walk. Maybe that will help when also as you start to cool down as your hand warmers should still be active as they last hours. I bet Rae has better suggestions. Glad that its only a new battery for the laptop! How nice that Scott's group got together to work on that project. I am sure that makes him feel better. Good luck with the insurance! I have that upcoming too!

Trudy it is so nice to hear when good deeds are done that they are recognized and I am sure your MIL is glad. That is a shame that your FIL was trained to not pick up stuff. And I bet he is stubborn only because this way he feels he still has a bit of control over his life. I am sure he knows he should get it out but just the thought he might use it - one never wants to give up thinking I am young. Have fun swimming!

Rae your birthday gifts sound like work to me. LOL. Although your one pot cooking sounds easy! Any work on how B has settled in to her new surroundings.

Jean you are so good with your e-books and sharing your knowledge with others.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'm off to VV to quickly look for a few sweaters. Then home to work and edit photos.

Ordered a dehydrator from London Drugs yesterday so it'll be here today or tomorrow. The first thing I'm going to do is make sweet potato and zucchini chips. Can't wait to try it out.

Chris - glad that the fix for Scott's computer is cheaper than expected. Glad you're feeling better today. As for clothes, I dress in layers, a sweater over a t-shirt, then my jacket and a scarf. If I warm up I can unzip the jacket part or all the way and take the scarf off. I often wear a hoodie under a jacket too. D laughs at me. I was out walking Taz last night and I had a t-shirt, sweater and winter coat on. I was passing people on the street that were wearing no jacket, one guy had shorts on LOL. I am always freezing.

Trudy - you are so good to your family, you do so much to help them out. I had never heard of varagesale before.

Nancy - sorry that you do have pink eye and hope it clears quickly. How fun to see yourself cheering on the tape! Enjoy your hockey game tonight.

I'm heading out now for a quick trip to VV and then back for a busy day of work and editing. Have a great day, everyone.

Beautiful sunshine today! Still cold and windy, but this feels so much better. Yesterday DH did storm doors and windows and I put out some fall decoration so we are admitting the season has changed. (and I was just interrupted by my friend who always talks a long time on the phone.)

Chris, so glad you got past the worst of things yesterday and don't feel like we have to hide from you. But you know you can always let it out here. So nice that Scott made progress too.

Trudy, hope being up so early worked out and you don't feel sleepy. What a lot got accomplished for MIL and just in time. You are such a good kid with all the help you provide and lasagne too.

Nancy, what a hoot being in the Sweden game segment! That won't make the health problems go away, but must feel good anyway. Do hope you are over the cough and pink eye soon!

Rae, as always, you are so busy. Bet you had your usual good finds at VV.
