Hi there and happy Tuesday!

Thank goodness for the sunshine. I don't even want to think of what mental state I would be in if it were rainy.
(Anyone want to guess how I slept last night?
Bingo! You all get a prize!
I know that you guessed some variation of pretty s**** ROTF!)

I thought for sure that if I kept myself busy all day I would wear myself out and somehow stay asleep past 4. Gary finally got the ACs out of the windows so I was able to get the plastic weatherproofing done at least downstairs. I need to do Caitlyn's window next but she had remote meetings all day. Even doing the few down here kept me going for 2 hours since I needed to move furniture, take down curtains and wash them, and do lots and lots of vacuuming. Sneezed my head off from all of the dust and dog hair.
Then I had to deal with my heart attack. Fine, it wasn't a heart attack but it sure as heck felt like I was going to have one.
Gary needed me to hold the extension ladder in place while he climbed to the second-story roof to bring down one of the skeletons there. I don't like ladders or heights and I definitely don't feel strong enough to hold a one in place while my husband (who had bad knees and neuropathy in his feet) climbs 20' over a concrete patio. I didn't look up once. I concentrated the entire time on my feet, the bottom of the ladder, and held on as tightly as I could. The only time I looked up was when he warned me he was on the way back down and he almost kicked me in the head! LOL!! You would have that the rise and fall of my cortisol levels would have tired me out totally.

I finished the gloves and took a picture to show you. It is not a good photo - the pattern itself used a brown variegated yard but I used black since that is the only color Caitlyn wears. It doesn't show the stitches very well but it is what it is. all that to say they look better in person. *winks*

Off to the supermarket this morning and yard work this afternoon. I still have some marigold plants that need to be ripped out.

Have fun today!

@tanteva BWUAHAHAHAHHA!!! Your siggie is the best. You crack me up!
I think that book must be even more terrifying that is it a biography. I want to see the Netflix special on The Family. I read a book years ago about them and their influence on C Street/lobbying but I can't remember what its name was. It might have been by the man who did the Netflix series but it was a long time ago.
Shaddup!!!!!!!! Snow??? For real? *faints* Keep that on your side of the Ocean, please.
Yes, pellet stoves are a thing here too. You can get small bags at the grocery store in the winter. Is that your main heat source? That is a LOT of bags of pellets!

@bcgal00 Thinking of Remi and the hummingbirds made me smile! Such a nice way to start your day. Do your pups bring the leaves inside too? Between the leaves and the acorns, I don't know why I even bother vacuuming! Forget about the toy stuffing. I give up :p
Wait, wait-- you have *two* great-grandchildren???? Wow! How wonderful!

@taxed4ever *fingers crossed that your resin doesn't bubble* :)
It is so nice that your brother was over for dinner, it really is starting to feel like things are going back to normal.I hope it stays! hehe, lots of wine consumption- glad that they stayed over too.

Esther- thanks!

@Cherylndesigns I have seen a few articles on Iris, she is very distinct with her glasses- and her attitude :p
You did find Sam eventually, right?
We would make a good/funny team in person! We could sit under our SAD lights together and rub our eyes. I can't live without my lamp. I used to have a Verilux floor lamp. I loved that one. After almost 20 years it finally bit the dust and I got a flat-screen type table lamp. The floor lamp was easier on my eyes since I could put it over my head and this one needs to be next to me. The glare is harsher but I don't need it on as much.

@tjscraps Yum, the dinner you made for your mom and hubby sounds so good!
I hope that the Dr is able to help your DH with his stomach issues and that it is nothing serious.
(Why do men wait so long to call a dr? Why?????????)
At any rate, I hope that he starts feeling better very soon! Good vibes to you for the biopsy too!

xoxoxox!

Here's what I woke up to today:

IMG_7907web.jpg

Will probably be gone soon though, cuz weather it supposed to get warmer again.

Yes, our heater runs on pellets. It's mainly because it was cheaper. I would like to get solar panels or something, but the cost to install is more than we can afford. But - hopefully in the future.

Found two old layouts I made:

(Let's agree I've improved at digi scrapping LOL)

and this one (from the time when you could add other designers to the gallery):

And while I'm sharing images - here's one for you @faerywings to print & include in your gift to Cait:

The glove looks amazing, I'm sure she'll love them!

Today - no plans. Have 1 (maybe 2 if I decide I'm happy with it) layouts to upload to the galleries. Made a page for my A4 book with my answers to the movie questions. Planned dinner is quorn fingers, rice & a sauce. Probably some peas as well. Time is running fast today - might be time to start cooking already.

Started crocheting on a doily for Christmas ... we'll see, I'm not sure I really like the colors.

Good morning ladies. The power went out last night but was on when I awoke this morning. I'm going to get to work early today knowing that the strong winds can knock the power out again at any time today so can't expect the computer to stay on. Thousands are without power today so the storm is wrecking havoc around here. I had my aussie pup to wake me at 6:20 so I don't need a clock LOL. The backyard is a mess, 3 huge rain puddles full of mud and water. Our yard has never been this nasty before. Remi loves it though, the more mud and water the better for her :)

Reading Nicolas Sparks "The Wish" and its good but sad b/c the story is about a woman with terminal cancer and my daughter has a very close friend who has cancer which has spread so they don't know successful the chemo will be, so the story is a constant reminder of Rita for me but I'll continue to read it for now. I'm halfway thru so might get it done. I've got lots of errands and chores to do, aside from the usual work and dog stuff. I booked my eye exam for Friday so hopefully will get new glasses picked out soon. I need to book a new physio place too for some ideas on maintenance and strength/stretch exercises for my back. COVID makes everything so different now. Before I could just pop in, book an appt, ask questions, etc...now they want you to call and limit contact. Darrell went to Service Canada yesterday to fill out the forms for his retirement and after waiting in line for almost 5 hrs they handed him the forms and said to go home and fill them out. He said he had questions and they said too bad, go home and fill out the forms, they had no time to help him. He was so frustrated when they refused to give him two minutes to answer a few questions about the forms, he said he was not leaving until they did, so they called the police who had to come and escort him out. I can't believe that happened. Then he came home, called Service Canada and told them what happened and the were appalled, they couldn't believe he was treated like that. What a crazy world right now.

@faerywings the long fingerless gloves are a good idea.
@tanteva wow, snow already. But I guess I'd trade the rain for snow, I'm so sick of the weather here already and the winter season is just starting...ugh.

Anyway, I better get to work. It's going to be a long day.

Morning ladies... Snow on the mountain tops this morning, but at least its not raining at the moment here in the Valley. I am so happy that I actually got a calendar page done yesterday and will be working on another one today. Had my facetime call with Heather already and we had a great chat! She sent me some photos that I did not already have so I have lots of ideas for layouts with them. Not much happening here besides working on some scrapping. I will try to get out for a walk and pick up the mail later in the afternoon, hopefully the rain will hold off.

@faerywings - Sorry but I had to giggle over your description of your Gary going up the ladder!! I am exactly the same way LOL. I can't stand when my Gary goes on the roof and expects me to hang onto a ladder that weighs more than I do and he thinks I will be able to save him from falling!!! Love the gloves that you made for Caitlyn!! They turned out so well! Nice to have the AC units out of the windows and that you got the weatherproofing done on the them. Reminds me that I really need to clean my bedroom curtains, but not looking forward to the dust, UGH!! The resin did not bubble, it turned out perfect, so happy! I will post a photo for you all to see. The one with the lime green coloured background did not turn out as well as I would have liked, but oh well its too late for me to redo it, it is what it is.

@tanteva - Eva I am happy for you that you got some snow overnight! Hope it sticks around, but probably not if your temps are supposed to rise a bit. Lots of folks around here also have pellet stoves, we have considered getting something like that for when the power goes out, but really can't justify the cost right now. Would love to see your Doily if you decide to make it!

@bcgal00 - OMG I can't believe that your hubby got treated so very badly!!! Shame on those people! Wouldn't it had been so much easier to just answer his couple of questions?? My god what is wrong with people!! I have read that book, and yes agree that it is very sad! It was good, but very sad! So strange that you got the wind, we have had none, so far, but the day is young! I think that being in this valley, we don't get as much depending on the direction of the wind. Looks like we are in for more rain very soon as the sky has gone very black again. November is always the worst month for the rain, it will be nice when it lets up for sure!
Well I am off to the shower, late getting going this morning! Wish me luck that I get another calendar page done today! I am so very far behind! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday everyone!

I read one book by Nicholas Sparks, and swore I never read another one. Even refuse to watch movies based on his books. I think the English title of the book is Message in a Bottle. I cried so much, I couldn't see. Hardly breathe for that matter. So, I've hated him ever since. I can take that books are a bit sad or challenging in some way, but I have to have a happy ending! It's not too much to ask. Lol

Life's miserable as it is, I need the fiction to be happy & positive. I need fiction to deliver me hope! :)

It's another sunny, warm (for Nov.) day!! Yesterday we were out a lot including some birding. Though didn't see a lot, it was so nice soaking up the sun and warm for the coming days. But I wanted to go to the library before dark and suddenly realized that meant leave NOW! Too early for dark. And for @felis, here's the poinsettia yesterday.

Good afternoon all.

Chris, @faerywings my next SAD light will be a floor lamp that lights BEHIND me. I can't work with this one on - it's too bright. However, I will sit with it on and just act like I'm soaking up the sun. Yes, we'd make a good pair, wouldn't we? Yes, Sam came home. He's a funny guy - he belongs to the night. He was finally in last night, then about 3 AM, he decided he wanted to go back out and started throwing himself up against the bedroom door. The little stinker has figured out how to rattle the doorknobs. I just yelled "NO!". He knows what NO means and she topped and went to sleep. We went up to Adrienne's for dinner last night and he came up there to find us. LMBO I couldn't believe it. One of Ava's cats was on their front porch, too. They're a gang of 4 now - there's a stray - orange tabby - it looks exactly like Sam. So, Ava has 2 - Harley and Stormy and that stray tabby makes 4.

I'm really tired today - still in a carb overload. I ate way too much last night - and I'm so tired today. I won't eat all day now.

Trudy @taxed4ever thanks for sharing the picture of your project. I agree with you: WHAT is wrong with people??? I'd better not get started!

Chris @faerywings I didn't know you were making fingerless gloves for Kait!!! I LOVE them!! The color is perfect, too. I have mine on right now. It's not that cold, but my hands are always like ice. I was teasing Ava last night by putting them on her neck. She just giggled and giggled. She said they felt like ice cubes. She's such a good sport. Alyssa would be mad if I did that to her. BWAHAHA She doesn't "get" our humor. She's not a free spirit like Ava. Haha I guess 2 Ava's would be a LOT to take.

Eva @tanteva pretty snow pictures. Our trees are JUST starting to turn - we had an ugly fall last year - it got too cold too fast and rained and the leaves all fell off. Loved seeing your picture.

Waving to all.
