Happy Tuesday and it is Election Day in the US. I already voted by mail so I don't have to worry about getting out to do that. I am always satisfied that I vote in every darn election since 2000 when I was so aggravated with politics that I chose not to. The only people that I didn't vote for this year was our local Board of Education. I don't follow closely enough to know what the candidates stand for and my kids are out of the school system that I felt it wasn't right for me to cast a vote. Not the best attitude but better than voting for whoever had the most signs posted.

I made it through yesterday ok although I *hate* my Shop rite's produce. I needed to get plum tomatoes and had to pick the ones way in the back. There were a couple in the front that had rotted and were molding all over the others. (yuck!) How can they leave that there? Last night, Cait was making tortilla soup when she cut into the red pepper and it was black inside. So disgusting. Since she already had chopped the jalapeno and onions Gary made us omelets instead.

I put most of the Halloween boxes into the attic then spent some time going through my baskets and bottles and soap molds that I had up there. Plenty of all of them, so I am all set on that. Today I think I am going to work on a few small things since I didn't get a chance to do anything yesterday. I was all set to make the bath teas, but I still have some from last year all made up. they don't do bad, so now I have all of the ingredients, but don't want to waste them by making more of the same. Maybe I can make foot soaks or botanical masks? I have to think about it.

Cait's car is ready to get picked up this morning, so Gary is going to drive her to the shop which is near her school. She'll head to the class from the shop. That works out since Gary had an appt with an endocrinologist at 2 and Muffin has an appt at the vet after 4 so we will all be running in different directions all afternoon. Muffin's lump has gotten much bigger in the last couple of weeks and will most likely need surgery, same as Clover earlier this year.
Oh and this afternoon, Cait and I have a "date" to get out blood drawn together. Gary doesn't need his done but Cait does, so I am going with her instead. :p

Much love to all of you!!! xoxo

Trudy- yikes that is COLD!!!!!! We are getting hit with that on Friday-- High of 32* low of 13* Noooo!!! I want 70* weather back. Poor hummingbirds, you are so kind to keep the feeder up for them. Hope that you stayed warm and cozy yesterday.
How is Heather feeling-- the strep is all gone and she is feeling better? How are the boys?

Nancy- it rained here but not heavy which was good. It was weird how it stopped and started. I was  at it when I was driving Cait to school. As soon as I got the windshield wipers adjusted properly, it would slow down or speed up. The game sounds like it was good, even though you lost. I love An Unfortunate Event, such a great font.

Rae- even though Mondays will be busy for you, at least you will be able to prepare for it, mentally at the least. Hoping that everything goes well at the accountant. great finds at the home store!

Jean- darn it!! I never paid my heating bill. I must do that today. It isn't due until the 10th but I have to get it in the mail. Yes, that is one great thing about doing my F-W's stuff, the house will smell yummy for a month!

BTW- I am claiming Whisky as "mine" this winter. That baby gives off so much body heat she makes my legs sweat while we are watching TV. She is better than the blanket. LOL

Felis- I am that way with Shutterfly. I find free coupons when I don't need them, but right before they expire I do and then I end up scrambling to get things done. then I have to fight with my computer and my cart. I totally understand what you went through. How nice to get the new Maroon 5 album to make you happy!
it doesn't matter how many years ago your loss is. some days are harder to get through than others.
For me, I handle my stress and depression by ignoring it. I am scared that if I read a book that made me cry I would never stop.Probably not the healthiest way to handle it but that is what I do. But I do cry in movies, although my kids laugh at me because I couldn't stop crying during Frankenweenie.
You are lucky that coffee doesn't keep you awake. if I have caffeine after 2-3 pm I will be awake all night. I switch to herbals tea at that time.

Guess I should get myself ready to start my day, it is going to be a busy one :)

Good morning, ladies!
It's a cloudy , so very dark day. Maybe will start to rain soon. So looks like that today will be mostly cozy day inside. I want to do more work today, so to can get a free day tomorrow.

Chris, oh, poor Muffin, hope the surgery help it! Good that Cait's car is ready, because you describe very busy day. I'm sure that you'll find some great recipes for foot soaks or masks, just I hope that you'll find time for that too! This for the vegetables is really disgusting. I don't get it why they aren't more strict now when is difficult to find fresh vegetables, and one rotted can affect to so many others if isn't removed quickly. And my sister use Ashwagandha tea for sleep better.
I checked and ''Dog's Purpose'' is translated here too, so now I'll have to catch it on sale.

All others have a wonderful day, my dears!

Quick historical note...

Chris, you was asked me about the history of my country, which is very kindly from your side, thanks for the interest! I could not find the right moment to answer. I'm agree that most countries knows only their history, because is important to know the lessons of our ancestors. Personally I easier can understand the history from the literature than from the lessons. So in short:

Our culture is one of the oldest at Europe. We are neighbours of the greeks, which you mentioned. Like you know the myths for Olympus, Zeus, Aphrodite, ect. So we have deep pagan roots, come from The Thracians, The Slavs and The Bulgars. The First Bulgarian Empire was subjugated by the Byzantine Empire for almost two century. Then medieval Bulgarian state was restored as the Second Bulgarian Empire. To the middle of the 15th century, when Southeastern Europe fell under the Ottoman Empire Yoke, a situation that would last for 500 years. These are bloody years, with many violence, starve, high almost impossible taxes, and many people were forced to convert to Islam. The National Revival period and the increasing tolerance of the Ottomans sparked ideas of liberation. The period is remarkable with the literary heritage that inspired the Bulgarian struggle for independence and an autonomous church and Uprising. The uprising is atrocity crushed, which shocked Russia and they comes to support us at the Liberation War and few countries makes the Eastern Orthodox coalition led by the Russian Empire. So the National Revival Leaders are enlighteners and revolutionaries. It's difficult for believes, but this small country of poverty, corruption and crime was a land of a glorious kingdom.
Felis- Can you tell me a bit more about National Revival Leaders? Was your country under slavery? Or a just specific culture? I hate that my country tends to do very basic history in the public schools. My kids had Revolutionary War period to Civil War over and over. That spans only about 100 years. They get very little in the way of World History and that focuses on Greek and Roman History. We all know very little outside of Western Culture.

good morning - wow winter is arriving. I wore my light down jacket and a winter hat and I was warm. But I am not totally prepared for winter and walking Luther in the cold but he sure seems to love the cold. Tonight it may rain so I will need protection to walk to the game. My youngest son is home today sick. A bummer. Not much else going on. But I will get out and vote for sure.

Chris glad the car is done and Cait will be able to drive herself. Wow it sounds like your are going to have a very busy day! That is terrible about the fruit. I hope you told the manager about the spoilage! And Chris I did not get any rain at all.

Felis hope you enjoy your day cozy while the rain falls outside.

Trudy I guess you are sending your cold weather our way. Not that I thought I would make it through the winter would out being cold. Loved your hiking page! Was so glad that the Bruins defeated the Wild. I can't believe how beat up the Bruins are.

Rae hope you day was busy but good! How fun to be so busy. I knew that you and Jen would do great on the shopping expedition!

Jean hope you are staying warm.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies, another chilly morning, but not as cold as yesterday thank goodness! DH has put the hummingbird feeder out this morning, so I don't need to defrost it. Sure hope that the temps are a bit better for our hike tomorrow, or neither SIL or I will be going.
Not much happening here for me today, I hope to get a calendar page finished and perhaps paint some more of my nativity. Maybe I will actually get one of the challenges done too. An hour at the pool this morning to do my laps and that will be my day. Pretty boring stuff :bored: but thats ok I don't mind boring on these cold days!

Chris - That is horrible that your store does not take better care with the produce! You should say something to the store manager, for heavens sake you pay way too much for groceries to have to pick through the rotten stuff!! :gaah: what is the matter with them?? LOL ok I will stop ranting now. Glad to hear that Cait's car is ready to pick up today and I hope that she is feeling so much better! Sounds like you had a pretty productive day with your putting Halloween away and getting your faerywings products all sorted out! Yes Heather is all over her strep throat and thankfully no one else got it! The boys are doing well however they are getting over a bought of hand and foot virus, Ugh!! There will be lots of hand washing going on in that household. Darn preschool germs they just never end. You watch next it will be lice or something.

Felis - How very interesting about your history! We are just babies here in Canada compared to the history of Europe. When I was in school my favourite time in Social Studies was when we learn all about Greek History and the Gods, so fascinating and I was sure that when I grew up I wanted to be an Archaeologist. Well that never happened, but I still think it would have been the best job ever! Hope you enjoyed your day of staying in and getting some work all caught up!

Nancy - Oh thanks for the nice comment on my page and letting me know what font you use, I will have to get that one for sure! It always looks so good on your pages! hope that you and Luther are out having a lovely walk this morning and that he gets to see some of his buddies along the way!

Rae - You poor thing, so busy on Mondays! Hopefully you get all your work caught up and finally get some time to do the things that make you happiest! Taz must be hating this colder weather, but at least its not pouring rain outside! Hopefully you got everything that you needed for the accountant and that tomorrow will be a less stressful day for you!

Jean - Yes it is very cold for this time of year here and hopefully it will warm up again soon! It is unusual for us to even see snow on the mountain tops here on the Island until closer to Christmas or even into January. I am sure that this cold front will move on at some point and we will return to normal temps again soon. I sure hope so anyway LOL! Hope you are enjoying a nice day where you are!

Ok off to make my bed and then get my swim bag ready for this morning. I think that DD will be face timing me before I head out so it will be good to have everything ready to go for when we are done talking. Have a fabulous day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Popping in quickly to say hi and will come back later tonight. I've got a busy day again (gee, what else is new LOL). I'm popping over to the VV in a few minutes and will zoom thru the store quickly, then run into the grocery store, and then race home and get back to work. We're leaving at 3 today for our appt with our accountant so need to work hard to hopefully get most work done before we have to leave. I was able to get a lot of work done yesterday so that felt good to keep on top of it. I think most Mondays will be busy like that except if a client is away (which fortunately the secondary client does on a fairly regular basis) which will give me a bit of a break. She's away this coming Fri and then Monday is a holiday....yay. I'm looking forward to it.

Chris - Taz is like that too, his body is like a heating pad, I wonder how such a little body can pack in so much heat LOL. Glad Cait's car is ready. I don't know how you all juggle your appts and driving schedules, it never stops does it?

Trudy - I folded a red dish towel in thirds and then pinned it around the water base of the hummer feeder. They don't seem to mind it and hopefully it offers a bit of insulation against the cold. Yesterday morning their water was half ice for most of the morning.

Nancy - enjoy the game and hopefully you don't get soaked in the rain.

Felis - it is interesting to read about your history. Thx for sharing that. Hope you are feeling more upbeat and that tomorrow you get a day off work. So nice to get a break from the usual schedule, isn't it?

Gotta go ladies. I'll be back tonight. Have a great day.
