The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning, O-zies! I hope you are doing great today!
It's cold and windy, but at least the sun is shining. That makes it much nicer - at least looking out of my window.

I got a ton more stuff done yesterday, even though it doesn't look like it. I forgot about a few important things from my list, but I added them in for today. Honestly, looking back on my day, I have no idea where the time went. It feels like I didn't get much of anything done.
*points repeatedly to my to-do list with things crossed off*
But see!! I did!

I wish my brain could be more organized. I think that even as I get things done, it takes me forever to do it since I distract myself. Yes, -- "Squirrel!!" and in my case, it is often a literal squirrel. The squirrels and chipmunks have been all over the front patio collecting any of the dropped bird seed. They are hysterical to watch as they popcorn all over the place.

Goals for today:
Yoga (I had stopped for a while after I messed up my wrist but am back on it!)
Pickup groceries
Go over everything I need for the Retreat Planning meeting this afternoon
Play with the rat babies while Cait and Tom are away today

I'd love to have some scrap time squeezed in but I'm not sure if I will be able to do that.

For whatever reason, my birds have flown the coop! The only thing I have see lately is one young goldfinch, a downy woodpecker, and a wren.
Will you get any winter migrators? I saw my first Junco the other day.:)
I also had to do the CP challenge over as I realized I used 52 Inspiration instead of CP product! WHAT??!! I get those confused, LOL!
Oh crud! Sounds like something I would do LOL!

Good morning ladies. I didn't accomplish much yesterday. Certainly not as much as I had planned. But today is a new day. I need to get the meals planned for the week. I'm doing a better job of cooking...but now I need to do a healthier job of cooking.
I hear ya! And I love the "new day" attitude. I am going to see if I can adopt that for myself.
Gary went to his endocrinologist yesterday and he dropped 10 lbs in the last 3 months, mostly from eating Caitlyn's requested dinners instead of the usual pastas typically made. If you ever want some ideas, we have been really enjoying some new recipes.
And, this will be the first year with no Angie...so I need to spend some time looking for thoughtful gifts.
:hug3:

I thought bears were supposed to hibernate...why are they still eating your suet. I have loved seeing Gary's videos of the bears but I will tell you that it does freak me out a little bit. I really wouldn't want bears on my porch.
They don't fully hibernate but they will go into a "slow mode" where they sleep more, even though it's not a full knock-out sleep.
i was looking around my yard, thinking that maybe he dropped the suet somewhere. Which is silly because we have watched them drag the bear-proof garbage can into the woods and find ways of popping the lid off LOL!
I think there will be 21 but six of those are 5 and under...which Sydney claims is worse because they put things on their plates and then they don't even eat them! And she isn't wrong!
:giggle4:
I no longer make daily lists of things to do.... just write info of what, times on my white board. Only have 3 things for the next 2 months!!! :floorlaugh:
I wish I could do that but without my daily lists, I would forget to do *everything* :p
Hope you stayed warm yesterday!

Saturday was the worst and had me in tears. I've been sitting on my heating pad and having hubs rub the tight spots off and on for 24 hours now and its much better. I actually slept last night without waking up from pain.
*gentle hugs* I hope that it is feeling completely better today.

Over the weekend I spent almost all day Saturday helping with get-out-the-vote canvassing. I think it's funny that we lived 35 years in NJ with its off-year governors race, then we moved to Virginia, the only other state with the governors race the year after the presidential election.
I voted-- a couple of weeks ago! I love that NJ does mail-in ballots. I have been voting that way since the mid-2000s.
Then on Sunday I led a 3.5 mile guided walk on our trail system, mostly for people new to the area so they can see how to access the trails and where they go. At one end is a shallow lake, with a bald eagles nest over it. The eagles are gone for the winter, but it's fun to go look anyway. There are a jillion kinds of birds there all year round. One of my friends saw an osprey this year, and there is regularly a black swan in the winter -- quite a mystery since black swans aren't native to North America.
That sounds lovely!
That's so odd about the swan, do you think it was "domesticated" at one point?
Did you catch my story of how I almost drove into a Great Blue Heron? Actually, he almost flew into my windshield- dang, that is a big bird! Scared the bejeezes out of me.

@faerywings Mixing essential oils sound like fun...with benefits for fragrant garbage!! Wow that is a brave bear thief...too bad he stole the whole block but good that it didn't do other damage. I guess you are spoiling it so it will keep coming back for more till it hibernates. Our friends in VT who have bear problems bring their feeders every night.
My house would smell incredible when I made aromatherapy products to sell. I kind of miss that, even though it was a lot of work for very little money.
Gary brought the seed feeder in last night, even though the bears seem more interested in suet than the seed. Maybe we will try the suet again mid-winter. Its too bad b/c the birds were *all* over that, so fun to watch them!
Last night we had friends come over for pizza delivery--hubby ordered and cleaned up. It was nice to have friends over but I was exhausted when they left. Today I had the first of 3 weekly gel shot in my knee so hopefully will ease the knee pain so I can get more out of PT. T
I can imagine how tiring that must be. Lots of good thoughts that the gel shot works so you get some relief for your knee.

:grouphugyay:

Good morning! I had forgotten that we were going to lunch yesterday with a friend of Brian's from high school. He was in the military and moved around a lot and I had never met him in all of this time. He now is retired and living in Florida but he was up here to see his mom and he drove to our place and we went to lunch. I had heard about him for years...about 40 years I suppose and it was really nice to meet him.

Today I'm doing school drop off and then I think we may go look at cars. I absolutely hate the entire process! But we really need a second one. So I think we may go take a look.

I wish my brain could be more organized. I think that even as I get things done, it takes me forever to do it since I distract myself. Yes, -- "Squirrel!!" and in my case, it is often a literal squirrel.
That seems to be how I have become. Except I haven't seen any literal squirrels in our yard. I didn't used to be like this. I think it is because I think that I have so much time and that causes me to be so random. Or maybe it's old age. Who knows?!! But I need to get it stopped so I can accomplish something.

@vickyday I hope the fact that you are not in here typing is a good sign that you didn't wake up at 3:30 this morning.

Hope everyone is feeling well this morning and has a good day!

LOL @LSlycord When I first retired I found myself wasting time-- getting distracted thinking I had so much time--- like you are doing...no way is it age!!!! So I started making detailed daily lists of things that had to get done...then on my breaks I would scrapbook or read. I did find it helpful and I do that sometimes now when I feel myself slipping into bad habits.
I hear you about looking for cars...I hate it too. I keep my cars 10 or more years just so I don't have to shop again. Good luck

@faerywings I know bringing in the feeders are a pain but not for nothing bird seed is expensive and bears tend to damage the feeders that are even more expensive. I laughed at your get distracted- "squirrel" I get detracted by the birds/water birds and turtles in the backyard. I am constantly looking out my windows-one right by my desk. forget when I sit in the Florida room with the full view of the pond...no concentrating there at all it's looking looking and looking more.
Aromatherapy sounds like a fun thing to do. Good luck fitting in some Scrapping time.

@AK_Tracy I sure hope you are feeling better that sounds horrible pain. A good night sleep will be helpful so I hope you were able get one or two I feel so bad for you. Can you take any meds that would help, muscle relaxer or pain pill. We need an update.

Yesterday I had gel shot in my left knee and some med that will reduce inflammation well they made a huge difference already. I was able to sleep in bed last night till 4 then I got up to go to recliner and read for awhile. Today I rode bike at exercise room at club then walked around the dance floor many times while Jay worked on gate to kitchen at the club. Hoping to post some travel pages from trip to Germany then start on the November challenges.

Good morning ladies. I am back. Lots of unpacking, culling and editing of images, housework, laundry and lots of dog love today as they really mised us while we were in Churchill with the polar bear tour. Apparently poor Remi got sick the next night, she was so stressed that I hadn't come back yet. Then she settled for the week but Jen said she was fairly quiet and sulking a lot. Last night I got tons of doggy kisses and snuggles throughout the night as I (tried to) sleep. Today she won't leave my side. I'll get groceries later but will bring her with me. Taz squealed with delight when we got home and laid on my legs all night but today he is back to normal. He is used to our travels.

Loved the tour group and will be booking two more trips with them today. One will be a tour of Newfoundland next spring and the year after we'll go to Columbia with the group.

It's going to take a day or so to get back to normal. The life up there is so different, it feels weird to be home. But tomorrow life will get busy again, the holiday craft markets start up next wkend and will go until mid Dec so I need to stockpile this week. Why did I ever think retirement would be lazy and slow LOL. Not my life, that's for sure.

I just remembered that I meant to ask you about your EO mixture you made for your retreat. Can you share, please? And what and how it is to specifically be used? I have some EOs that I never have done anything with and I would like to!

Squirrel! I think women naturally have this problem more than men because, as mothers, we are "trained" to be on the look out for everything going on around us! ;). Hope that eases your mind!

HA! I think the CP/52 I's was a "squirrel" thing! I had the 52 I's already planned for my 30 Days and said, "Oh, Look! I already have it set aside, so I'll use it, too, for the CP challenge!"

We have juncos all the time. They don't come to the feeders very often at all, however! They pretty much stay in the woods. I did see a chickadee yesterday! We were a bit warmer yesterday. Maybe all of the birds are staying tucked away somewhere out of the cold winds we have had lately! Fingers crossed!

I'm right there with you and the whole car-shopping fiasco! Fortunately, Mark is like me and you run the car until it just absolutely dies and you have no choice but to replace it!

That seems to be how I have become. Except I haven't seen any literal squirrels in our yard. I didn't used to be like this. Unfortunately, I had more going on at 3:30 than just not being able to sleep! IBS! Nuf said!

YAY for the gel shot working! Already you must feel like a new woman! :heartpumplove:

Yes, you certainly are one busy lady! But, hey! You only go around this life one time, right? I envy you (somewhat) in being able to do the things you do!

Good afternoon,
Yes, it's late (2 my time).
Unfortunately, I did not sleep better last night. In fact, I added the IBS issues and was up and down visiting the BR all night. I finally went to the recliner so I would be upright as I also had terrible indigestion. Things finally settled down after I took some acid reducer. It took me a few minutes to go to sleep after Mark left at 5:30. At 7:30 I finally had a normal BR break. Laid back down and catnapped until 10:30. Hopefully I will have a restful sleep tonight! Remains to be seen!

I changed up the format of the 30 Days Challenge a bit. I changed the name from Gratitude Challenge to just Challenge. I'm surprised I have no takers to join me with the challenge. I'm hoping changing the name will help! But, it is keeping myself accountable at any rate.

I did get one of my devotions finished yesterday. Now I just have to proof it and cut some of it as it is way too long! My pastor also contacted me today. Since we have so many widows in our church, we need a van as my Equinox will absolutely not seat 7 people! So, he was able to rent a van that he will take me to pick up on Monday and then we have to return it on Wednesday! I will drive it home since I will be doing the driving of it. It is a Pacifica 7-passenger van.

Now to start on the widows' devotion. My stomach has settled enough so that I just ate brunch. So, if I eat tonight when Mark eats it will be something small.

Have a great afternoon!

Later getting in here today... Had a fiasco when I went to fix breakfast for us this morning. I was using a new brand of pancake/waffle mix. Followed the directions on the box for waffles but when I opened the waffle iron with the first waffle - it split in the center and each side stuck to the iron and I had to unplug the iron then scrape them off!!! Yes... I had sprayed oil on both sides of the iron before adding the mixture. Long story short... I switched over to a flat skillet and made pancakes instead.. and they didn't rise like normal... but they tasted okay. Checked 2 other pancake/waffle mix recipes and they called for only half of the oil that the first mix called for!!! Won't be buying that brand again.

DS-in-Lay just left to head to Fort Sumner where the eye clinic will be held. It was so nice having him and his son here for supper last night. Still have to divide up the enchiladas sauce into small freezer containers (after I have some for supper tonight). I have lots of guacamole left over so will be having it for the next couple of days. dance3

Decided to wait until tomorrow to run errands . . . . and I have a lot of them to do then.

Today is election day so more people will be out and about.

I agree women are more observant!!!!
