Well, the good news is that I won't blow away in the wind this morning. It was brutal out there all day yesterday. I know that I heard a few trees/big branches come down in the woods behind us. Ray can't hear it but she feels the vibrations and she was shaking so much. Poor thing. She is having a few rough days again, a hard time walking and two accidents last week. She will be 15 in a few weeks.

I was very productive yesterday. I got a bunch of paperwork done, the kitchen cleaned, made a few phone calls that I needed to do, and I scrapped a LO for the AJ Challenge. Cindy asked us to "express ourselves" soI channeled my anxiety into the page.
I gathered almost all of the indoor Halloween decorations and today I will start packing them up to put in the attic. That will keep me off of the computer and away from the news. Tomorrow is my day to steam clean for the same reasons since we possibly won't have any results.

When I went to get the mail yesterday, someone on our street left an index card with a note about how much they like our Halloween display. I was so happy to see that. Gary was disappointed that we didn't get many kids on Saturday so this boosted him a bit. I wonder if was from the two little boys that would walk by every afternoon. They were young- under 10 for sure and they would sit at the edge of our driveway to watch. Have to admit, it was really very nice to see something positive in the world been if it was only a little note.

I am off to the grocery store to pick up my order this morning. I did a little extra in stocking up on TP, cleaning supplies, tissues. I did the same thing last February, each week I got a few extra things of Lysol, water jugs, TP. That way it wouldn't be hoarding and I was leaving plenty of items left for others. I had to get alcohol swabs for Gary when he changes out his insulin pump tubing every week and there was a new notice that said that it counted towards my limit of two alcohol/peroxide items. The tissues and TP also have a limit of two. That is something I hadn't seen before. I wonder if the stores are trying to prepare for a bad winter. It would be smart if they are.

My thoughts for you are that you are happy and stress-free today and that I can do the same. ::grouphug

Like you, Chris, I'm staying busy with housework and scrapping. Our temps have dropped, so too cold for me to get out in the mornings for a walk, so I'm doing my stepper inside. Today I'll start tackling my spare room where I've just been piling papers that need to be shredded, and clean my painting/craft table and closet, as they are a messy disaster. I'm usually a neat freak, can't stand clutter, but I think the woes of the world have gotten to me, and being inside so much, with few and rare visitors, I've just gotten careless.

How precious someone left you that little note. I live in a third-floor walk-up apartment so I don't get kids to my door on Halloween anyways. I wasn't sure how people were dealing with trick or treat in my area. My grands are all older teens so celebrated in other ways.

Thanks for your thoughts for us today, and I'm sending them right back to you . . .

Trudy- Sorry to hear that you are getting rain, just for today or will it cancel your hike tomorrow?
I meant to ask you yesterday-- you said that you have a propane heater for your deck/patio? I think we will need to get something like that if we ever want to see our families again over the winter. The fire pit is fine but as soon as it snows there won't be a way to get to it easily. My patio is tiny 8x10, maybe a bit more. Do you have any recommendations?
How was your alone-day? My goodness, I can't imagine what that would be like. I feel like the last time I was alone was almost two years ago when Gary and the kids went Christmas shopping and I was wrapping presents here. LOL
That is so cute that Isaac was Dead Pool, Christopher was too. My kids were saying that there is an edited kid-friendly version, of I but I haven't seen any version of it. Did you get any pics of the grands?
I hear ya on the Raynaud's- I was moving things around in the freezing and my hands hurt and burned from it. You are very smart to have hand warmers with you.

Rae, I am so, so sorry to hear about Noel. I know how hard it is and my heart breaks for you all. How is Jen holding up? Sending love and strength and peace to all of you.
Being with Bailey had to have helped a lot after getting the news.

Cheryl- hehe, Gary says the same thing to me- don't worry yourself sick. I joke back that if the election goes in a direction that is not good for me, then I won't be able to afford to get sick after I lose my health insurance. :pound:
Did you and Daisy go out to check on the house at all? I wonder if they are putting in your cabinets. So darn exciting! don't forget to let us know when you update your album. :)

xoxo

Good morning, Betty Jo! I hate hate hate clutter. Gary OTOH hoards everything and leaves his junk all over the place. As I was collecting the Halloween stuff, I had to decide if I was wanted to keep out some of the pumpkins for Thanksgiving. Heck NO! I need a few weeks of mental "clearing" of the house before we start thinking about Christmas.
I also used to joke that I had to have at least two big family parties a year so I would have no choice but to super deep-clean the house. Usually, they are in May and September since 90% of my family has birthdays in those two months. I missed both of them and it shows. ;)
xoxo

Morning, gals. Must have been restless in my sleep last night as I woke up with my fitted sheet untucked and wrinkled underneath me. Haven't had that happen in a long while.
Yesterday I finally found a set of external speakers for my PC. Got them hooked up and working so now I can have sound/music while working on my old computer. I am copying my photos onto DVDs right now... already have 2 full ones done and looks like I have 3-4 more to get done. Yes, they are backed up onto my ExHD but thought it might be easier to transfer them to DH's computer via the DVDs rather than from the ExHD. Plus I like having more than 1 backup source.

I am going to ignore the news today so will be trying to get caught up on some chores around here. Need to sort through paperwork and get it ready for Taxes. I usually start sorting it out in Nov. Just got the property tax bill and that reminded me to get busy on them.

Betty Jo, I hear you about how easy it is to let papers build up this year. I have been doing the same.

Chris, how neat that you got a card about your Halloween decorations. Glad that made Gary feel better about doing them and realizing that others have enjoyed seeing them.

Need to look at the challenges and get started on doing a few of them.

Good morning, ladies. Had a long talk with Jen about Noel. We are still on the fence about Sunday being the day to take him in. I'll be talking to the vet again today. We know his time is coming, we know the IV treatments are the only thing thats keeping him going and how fair is it to him to keep doing this and how hard is it going to be for us to have to administer every few days. Ugh. Its not a clearcut decision.

We watched the season premiere of The Good Doctor last night and enjoyed it but it was also uncomfortable b/c it was all about the pandemic. We finished off the night by watch Sat Night Live Election Special which got us laughing which is good b/c most of the time this whole political mess makes us just want to scream or cry.

I'm getting to work now b/c I have to leave to see the vet at lunchtime.

Have a good day everyone. BFN

Morning ladies... It is very wet today! Today is swimming day and I am looking forward to gettin into the water and getting some exercise! Keeping my fingers crossed for the right decision to be made for the American election today! I won't say anything more than that. :tape: I need to get a few more things done here at the O today, but other than that I am working on my Calendar and trying to get a page done for one of the challenges today. I have had a long talk with Heather and Hunter this morning. I read three stories to him and then he made a big tower for me with his big duplo blocks. He got a bit frustrated because it kept falling over, but was pretty happy when he finally got it done without it toppling over LOL. The kids had a great time on Halloween, but Heather said they all had a hard time adjusting to the time change and everyone was up very early. It made for a very long day the day after Halloween! Still have not heard from Isaac and Sadie, but I know that they are very busy with school and then swimming three or four times a week after school.

Chris - Does your patio have a roof?? My front porch does but it is tall enough that the propane heater does not effect it all. We really love our patio heater and as long as you keep it a safe distance from your windows it really throws quite a bit of heat. It is nice because you can control how much heat comes out of it. Here is a photo of our Heater to give you some idea as to what it is like. My porch is really not all that big either so I think it would be a great choice so you can visit more with your parents!

There should be some good sales on them this time of the year also, I think that is when we bought ours in the fall and we got it for 50% off. They work much better than the electric ones too.
I did get some photos of the kids dressed in their costumes and I hope to get a page done with them soon. My hike on Wednesday is a rural walk here in town, so I can go rain or shine as we could most likely take umbrellas, but my hands get cold holding onto an umbrella so I will probably just wear my really good raincoat. Sure hope your grocery pickup goes well and how nice to have someone leave a note saying how much they liked all of Gary's hard work!

Betty Jo - I think that we have all gone through the Covid woes!! I can't stand clutter either and I have found I just can't be bothered to do any really deep cleaning. Who will see it anyway :mmph: I am usually very busy painting and making cards too, but lately I just don't have will to get back to it. Hope that you get your craft room tidy again today!

Rae - I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this sad time! Poor Noel, it is a very hard decision to make, but really, you don't want him to suffer do you?? So heartbreaking to have to say good-bye!! Sending you and all of your family lots of hugs!

Kay - Sorry to hear that you had a restless night! I have been having many of those lately too and have to completely re-make the bed in the morning. Not sure how come my DH doesn't even notice LOL. Glad to hear that you found the speakers for your computer, it is nice to be able to listen to music while you scrap!!

Well I better get my swim bag packed and get to work on a few things here. Have a great day everyone! Try to stay away from the news today!

Good evening all.

Chris, I hope you're not going crazy right now. It's been kind of a nail-biter.

Rae, I saw a sweet picture of Noel on FB today. He's SO sweet.

On the bright side - I picked out our granite today!! it's gorgeous and I LOVE it!! Things are moving on! Bad news - the granite company is backed up and probably won't be able to install it until after Thanksgiving. Ugh. It was looking like we might be in by then. Guess not.
