Hey there, O-Fam!! How are you all today? I am doing my best to make this a great day.
I did a bunch of nothing yesterday. Not really, I guess. I did a lot of housework. Had to catch up on laundry, strip the bed, fun stuff. I *think* I am set for food shopping today. I went through the sale paper and pfft. Not much seems to be on sale. I also crocheted another inch or so of the gloves, I finished the row that I think I miscounted on the first glove but they look like that match up. I guess I will see how it looks after a few more rows, maybe that is just the way that the pattern was written. *shrugs?*
What else do I do? Oh. Yeah. I made a *mess* of dinner. Hahahaha!!! I can laugh now, but I was stressing last night. I had gotten a pack of sausage from the FP last month so I defrosted that. I found a recipe for pasta with sausage and onion and garlic. I start the onion and garlic sauteeing and then try to get the sausage out from the skin to add to the pan. It isn't coming out so I cut the sausage into slices, throw that into the pan. I sniff -- why does the "garlic sausage" smell like kielbasa???
I read the wrapper more closely. Dammit, it is smoked sausage!!! I am not a big meat eater, and very rarely cook sausage. The only reason I had this pack was that it was from the pantry. I am running through options on what to do now, pour the pasta into the water, and wonder why there are a few pieces of pasta stuck to the bottom of the box? Because there is pantry pest in it. G*&*#@%&^%I@!@$&!!!!
Dump that out, restart the water to boil, and try to find something online to do with smoked- not Italian- sausage.
Gary's blood sugar is dropping because he already bolused his insulin and watched pots really do NOT like to boil!!! When his sugar is low, he gets "wander-y" and the last place I needed him was wandering in the 6x4 feet of kitchen floor.
Well, I ended up finishing cooking dinner, it was rigatoni with smoked sausage, half and half, and mozzarella and Worcestershire sauce. Scott and Gary either liked it or were very good at not complaining.
See why I hate cooking dinners???
And today, I am off to the supermarket to buy whatever my next meal is going to be.
Have fun!
