I am running really late this morning, so this will have to be quick. Besides, you don't want to hear from me b/c all I am going to do is b**** about the cold. It is 25* now and we are going to get up to 28*. Totally NOT prepared for this.
At least we don't have snow which is better that a lot of you. :(
I heard on the news yesterday that 2/3 of the US has snow? That can't be right, can it?

Crap for today is basically still working here. More phone calls to healthcare.gov. Over the weekend, I went online to submit new financial info and I couldn't remember my password and got locked out. I was able to call and get my account unlocked, and while I was on the phone with him, he was able to get my new application done. There are some new cost-sharing options, but they only apply to Silver Plans, and I have a Platinum plan ATM. When I tried to log back in, I can't remember what the password is again, I tried calling back and after 20 minutes, the woman told me that the system was running slow and I could try calling later.
But I want to log in so I can see the different plans with my personal financial info being applied and then I want to see which ones cover my two specialists. I have to keep my breast surgeon as well as my Gyn who is doing my surgery in January.
I started looking at the silver plans -- there are 17 different plans from 5 different insurance companies in the Silver Level. I had to make a spreadsheet to start looking at which plans include which drs. A spreadsheet!
WHY can't we just have single payer??? This is seriously insane. :frusty:

Anyway. I am not working today- client called last night to reschedule but I don't have anything open. I didn't get anywhere near enough done yesterday since at least 2 hours of my time was spent dealing with health insurance. (again, I ask, why can't we have single payerl???)

I am off to warm up my car. Wish me luck!

I'll be back to bitch, err... I mean, chat later!

Chris, the reason why is that there are sizeable numbers of people like me who don't want the Government running our healthcare. look at the mess they're making of this. you know we disagree about stuff like this and the ability of the Government to do almost anything competently, so we'll have to agree to disagree. the reason for the inception of this monstrosity was supposedly to take care of getting the alleged 40,000,000 people who were NOT insure to GET insured. so far, what's the number? i heard HHS say that they're "hoping to get a total of about 9,000,000 people into the program after this open enrollment period. to my way of thinking, this program has caused chaos at every level of healthcare, and considering what's been "done" so far, i can't see it getting any better. there needs to be some changes made in healthcare in this country, but to my way of thinking, Government is almost never the answer.

off the soapbox for me and on with the day. hope everyone has a good one. :becky:

good morning - it is cold and windy and cold! Yesterday my lunch with my co workers was fun. It was really good to catch up with them. One of them is now a grandpa. We are all enjoying retirement and I think that is so good! But did not get a walk as it was total rain all day! It was heavy rain too! Today it is so windy but I may try it later this afternoon but I may not.

Chris the insurance system is so cumbersome I wonder that any one can make heads or tails of all the choices. Good luck with that!

Phylis please share your rants always enjoyable to read differing opinions.

Trudy so good to see you feeling well enough to leave comments on pages. Thanks for the nice one on my page! Hope you get back to your swimming soon!

Sorry to have been missing for a few days. Maybe partly weather has fried (or frozen) my brain. We're in the teens with more snow always possible.

As far as health care administration, I have HMO coverage that was bought out by another company and it is getting really crazy. So if government is bad, so is the so-called private sector.

Hope everyone has a better day!!
