Bam, just like that I am frozen solid. Where did my 70* days go????????? It is *%$#%^* 25* today. It was so much warmer yesterday. ha, what an exaggeration, it was freaking cold yesterday too (35*) but 25* simply sounds so much worse. Anything below 50* and you know me - Blah blah blaaaahhh
1668514247142.png

I thought I was going to have a good chunk of time by myself yesterday morning and I did, it just went too fast. By the time I packed up the last of the Halloween boxes and brought them upstairs and vacuumed the leaves that blow in my front door, Gary was back home.
All of this talk of getting kitchens organized (Yeah, I am looking at you @LSlycord ;) ), I cleaned out one freezer and the small spice cabinet. I found a ton of freezer-burned stuff that got tossed. I also found a chuck roast I had gotten 2 years ago from the FP. I never cooked it b/c I don't eat red meat. I defrosted it thinking that I would cook it for the dogs??? Can you do that? It looks pretty marbled, is that too fatty for them to eat?
I hate to throw it out but I don't; know what else to do with it.
I also restarted the shawl and think I *finally* have it going nicely. And I finished my letters to voters, so I think I got a lot done.

Today is going to be busy getting the Halloween boxes into the attic. Sure, so smart of me to wait until it's going to be awfully cold up there. Couldn't do it last week when it was fine.
Then I need to finish up my food order and keep on crocheting *sung to don't stop believing for some extra pep*

Hugs and stay warm!

Good morning all! It is going to reach 81* today...and that is truly our last day in the 80's. Will she or won't she turn on the AC? Probably she will. LOL I hate heat and humidity worse than I hate the electric bill.

I want you to know that my refrigerators and ovens are sooooo clean. My sink is shining. My refrigerator is also empty! So I'm off to the grocery store as soon as I do my morning tasks here at the O! You know, checking in on all of you ladies and leaving a little bit of love in the gallery.

Sydney and her friends did a Friendsgiving and she sent me photos of their food. There were 10 of them and she made the mashed potatoes...she did 5 pounds and bought a potato masher at the store when she went to pick up the potatoes. She added garlic, butter and half and half. She thought they were a little dry but she thought the flavor with the addition of the garlic was perfect. There was a turkey, green bean casserole, chicken pot pie, macaroni and cheese...and more. And these things were all cooked in teeny, tiny kitchens with ovens that have to be from the last century. I was pretty amazed.

Have a good day!

@LSlycord enjoy your warm, wonderful FL weather while I sit here and pout heheh
How was Shaun's birthday? Neither of my kids cared about turning 20, it was such a "nothing" year for them. How did Shaun feel about it?
My family hasn't talked too much about Christmas Day plans yet. This year is going to sure as heck be different. We never had to"share" the holiday with Leah (barf) since she is Jewish. Sam and Ian (barf barf) usually came over at the end of the day for dessert. Sam shares a birthday on the 26th with her late brother and I have no idea if she will be up to anything. We will take her lead in that. Tom's mom and stepdad are very religious so they do Church and have their meal early. I think he will come over when that is done.
If you guys are anything like us, two puzzles are sufficient for break, one is not enough. Ravensburger brand is the best (IMHO and if you care LOL)

@vickyday you make me laugh!!
I hope that HL wasn't too far away of a drive. That would stink to go and find them closed. I can't wait to see your bucket hat when you are done crocheting it. I have lots and lots of yarn leftovers from what I was given, and I was thinking about learning how to make granny squares with them. Have you ever done that?

@Lynn Grieveson I am going to frame what you said about me making you laugh and show it to my family. They don't think I am funny at all. They all cheer when I crack a semi-decent joke at dinner. bah :/
ROTFLMBO at the oven photo, don't let them shame you!!! A dirty oven means that you are a good cook who enjoys caring for your family nutritiously
Age is really weird when you think about it. My dad just turned 84-- I texted him Happy Birthday. He texts back 16 more to go! Then I realized in 16 years, I will be 70 (AHHHH!) and Cait will be 30 and that freaked me out ( I am bad at math BTW)
When I realize that she will be 40, it was like that is *impossible!!!*
*puts a hand to forehead and swoons a bit*

Vicky - Hope that you and Mark are both feeling much, much better today. Can it be allergies? My eyes are so itchy from them right now.
I miss when the supermarkets used to run sales like that, but I would have to be very careful I was overspending just to save a couple of bucks. That's awesome that you got your turkey and very smart to get another one if you and Mark will eat the leftovers.

@bcgal00 You are a saint of a dog mom, I didn't want to even open the door to let mine outside this morning. And you go out and play with Remi in the snow-- *bows to the Queen* Hahah, I love the visual of her sulking b/c D doesn't want to play. I bet she makes the best sulky face.
yay for working on getting organized. You can join the Club here. We won't bore each other that way. ::D

@Cherylndesigns I am so happy that Steph is home! I totally understand the concern that she wasn't ready but hopefully, she will listen to you and do what the Dr and Mother order. Give her gentle hugs from all of us!

@faerywings it is snowing back home so at least you don't have snow yet. Glad that you had a productive time while you had the house to yourself...but I do hear you about the way that it goes too fast. My estimates on how long it takes to accomplish things are way off anymore. Shaun didn't care about turning 20...really meant nothing to him. Much more significant to me than to him. Loved your comment to Lynn about Cait being 30 in 16 years...that really does need a ROTFL emoji!

@vickyday I was amazed by your bucket hat. I can't believe that you were able to get that done so quickly. Hope that the grocery shopping was a success and that you have a fun time today with the ladies today. I think that I may get an extra turkey for the freezer since there is such a good price on them right now.

@Lynn Grieveson I agree...I do feel quite satisfied with the clean refrigerator. I made both Brian (who was actually a big help in taking out shelves and putting them back) and Shaun come to look at it and admire it. Then, when Syd FaceTimed, I made her look at it as well. Her comment, got to love the honesty of an 18 year old, "It looks pretty empty." I also agree about 20 being a strange age. Sometimes I am amazed at how grown he is...and sometimes I am equally amazed at how "not grown" he is.

@bcgal00 I am up before Brian this morning so the dogs got up with me and have now had their treats and food and have gone back to spend some more time in bed. Remi pouting for play time reminds me of how mine act when I am sitting here in the morning doing the Daily O's. Andie, in particular, insists that I stop typing and pet her. She nudges me with her nose, puts her paw on my arm (and it's a very big paw) and then, when I give in and pet her, she traps my arm against the couch so that I can't use it to type. Quite a break this morning on that one.

@Cherylndesigns I know that Steph is glad to be back to her own home but I know that is stressful for you as you now need to take on the role of nurse. Glad that you can use the computer while she rests...especially glad that you have PSE back.

Morning, all. It is 22*F here this AM. Brrr.... Suppose to go pick up Rx refill at the base this morning and do some grocery shopping. Not sure I am up to doing that. Woke up yesterday morning with the right hand/arm cold and tingling - must have slept wrong on it. The arm/hand was cold most of yesterday so had another PJ day - just read and lazed the day away. It is better this morning but think I will take another 'rest' day before doing much.

Good morning ladies. It warmed up here and will stay about the same for the next week or two (mid 30's). I think that is a bit warmer than the usual for here. The snow is finally melting a bit now. The car is filthy so need to go to the car wash today or tomorrow. Tonight is "breakfast for dinner". Egg scramble with peppers, cheese and ham and fried mushrooms and broccoli on the side for me. I got high protein wraps so will make a burrito out of mine.

Poor Taz is aging, having moments when he just stares off into space every now and again and then last night, around 3 am, he kept falling to the floor as he tried to hop onto the bed. After 5 tries I got out of bed and lifted him onto the bed. He is also eating a lot. I think he is forgetting that he ate already and keeps whacking the bowl for refills. He's not overweight so it's ok. I just keep putting little bits in it for him. It sure seems strange though b/c all his life he has not been very interested in food and it's been a struggle to get him to eat enough.

Today I will do some meal planning, sort out the pantry and food cabinet in the garage a bit to see what I have and what I need.

I'll be at the dog park later this afternoon.

A quiet day, not much happening.

@faerywings don't freeze up there as you put the Halloween stuff away. I know how you feel, I was out in the garage yesterday, sorting thru a few bins that I haven't unpacked and it was very chilly. I had to put a scarf around my neck.

@LSlycord Friendsgiving sounds like it was fun, good mix of food.

@BrightEyes Take it easy and heal. Don't push yourself.

Remi is waiting for me to play a bit and then it's time to get dressed and get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

Good afternoon, all. Steph and I both slept like rocks last night. I don't think I turned over one time. She felt pretty good when she got up and wanted to go out to eat. By the time we got around to it, I could tell she was going downhill. I told her to go lay down for an hour and see how she felt when she got up. Luckily, I didn't get an argument out of her. She's laying down right now. She wanted to go to this new French cafe that's right around the corner, but they have short hours and I talked her out of that. We're going to Perkins after a while. I reminded her that I was going to be here for two more weeks.

Not sure she should be going out to eat, but she's insisting on it - so, we'll go. LOL I know her too well to argue with her and they didn't put any restrictions on her. She's doing amazingly well and is so happy to be in her own bed.

Just a quick belated happy birthday to Shaun, Linda @LSlycord so 20 isn't exciting anymore, huh?

Chris @faerywings that's so funny about your dad reminding you of everybody's future ages. I hope you get your Christmas plans all sorted out. It might be different Christmas this year.

I turned Steph on to Yellowstone last night - she'd never seen it and wanted to and has the Paramount app on her Xfinity TV. We went to Season 1 and watched the first season. She's hooked now. LOL The new season is supposed to be on right now according to the internet. Tonight, I'll look and see. She has that fabulous Xfinity, and all the apps are included in the price - Paramount is even free to her. I'd forgotten how awesome it was.

Hello to ALL of you - I miss you and hope to be able to spend a little more time soon.

XOXO

Oh, yes! Granny squares are easy peasy! A great way to use up your leftover yarn!
Ilene really liked the hat! She said, "I'd like one in black or white!" I told her I might be able to take care of that, LOL! It really was an easy pattern. And so my hands would not bother me too much, I made sure to take several breaks!
Mark was feeling rough when he woke up this morning. I feel fine, basically. However, after being out in the rain today my throat feels just a tad bit sore! Hoping I sleep it off, LOL!
I was planning on going to the grocery store again tomorrow to spend $35 to get another turkey! But the temps are supposed to hover around freezing, so I probably won't stick my nose outside the house other than to let Asher out to use the bathroom!

Thanks, Linda! The pattern for the bucket hat was very easy to follow! I'm going to have to make one for Ilene now, lol! I really don't see her wearing it, however!
Didn't make it to the grocery store today, but had a great day with my friends!
I wish I had a freezer besides the fridge side by side! I would try to get a couple more turkeys! And I would load it with frozen veggies!
