I am not liking the week's weather forecast. Rain today. Then really cold tomorrow. Thursday is a wintry mix. Friday- more rain. I wish we could send it all to CA. Maybe if everyone on the East Coast huffed and puffed the air to the West at the same time? ;)

I worked a lot yesterday morning but sadly, I don't feel any more organized than I was on Sunday. I think I have a better idea of what I need to make and I revamped 3 recipes and did all of the metric conversions on another. I guess that is more progress than it feels like. But sitting at my desk all morning gave me a headache and since it wasn't raining, I decided to go and rake leaves for an hour. I am trying to get them all to the backyard and into the woods. My dad will come up at some point with the leaf blower and get the rest of it but I try to do the bulk before he gets here.

I have to go to the vet and get food for Floyd and heartworm/tick meds for the rest of the crew. And then food shopping for us. Woo hoo. And did I mention it is pouring rain??? :hurt: haha!!
Still no news from the health insurance people-- yesterday was a Federal holiday so they probably weren't in their offices. Maybe today I will hear something.

Have fun today no matter what you are doing (that is what I am trying to convince myself!)

xoxoxo!

Nancy- yuck about the stomach bug, hope that you are back to feeling yourself today. Tell your DS happy Marine's Birthday and Veteran's Day to him and his Marine Corp Family.
Too funny about his customer interaction stories. I for one, hate trying to explain to a mechanic when something is up with my car so I make Gary do it instead.
woot for being Twitter Famous! :D I follow Christopher Titus and responded to him once- he retweeted and I got over 100 likes. I felt *very* special. LOL
I was so impressed at how DG portrayed the slaves in the books and the shock and distaste from Claire and Brianna at seeing it. I think we forget that each of the slaves was human. I mean we know it intellectually, but we are desensitized to their humanity. Does that make sense? I think we do it to Holocaust victims too. I think it is the only way a compassionate mind can deal with the knowledge.

Kay-- how funny that we get soooo darn excited that we sleep to a still ungodly hour of 5.30
I know that I have read where you live but I can't remember ATM-- Great Lakes area?
I really hope that you don't get any snow and that you are cozy at home.

Trudy- That is funny that your Gary fell asleep in the car. My dad does that a bit with my mom. He will bring a book, sit on the bench at the mall and fall asleep on occasion. I am happy that you enjoyed the movie- I had heard reviews that it wasn't good but as you said, I never pay attention to the reviews.

Rae- You had a busy weekend and Monday. No surprise there ;) Hope that you got everything done that you needed to do and that that you and Jen had a great day together.

xoxo

Chris, I live in New Mexico, USA... it is in the Southwest. Yes, we get the full 4 seasons here including snow. We are at 5200' [close to the same altitude as Denver, Colorado]. We just don't get as much snow. Although the mountain outside of town got a bunch yesterday - we just got flurries at my house. Yep... 5:30AM seems to be my new wake-up time. I will take that over 3:30AM any day.

Having lunch with my Red Hat Chapter and celebrating my birthday month by wearing a red outfit with purple hat [reverse of normal colors]. Since it is 23F right now and only getting to mid-30's, I am wearing a 'dressy' fleece pants set over my long-johns. I may even dig out my faux fur coat as it is the warmest one I have. brrrrr!

Morning O-zies!! It is cold out this morning, but not raining and better yet, not snowing!! Sounds like we will be getting the wet weather starting later tonight :mmph: just in time for hike day! Not much happening here today, DH is back to work and all the housework is done, so I should be able to get some scrapping done and work on my Christmas gifts to the grands. Trying out some new mixed media fantasy paints and have been watching YouTube videos on how they work. So cool, I am excited to give them a go! Hope to get to the pool this morning also.

Chris - You had a busy day yesterday, how nice to be outside and do the raking! We were supposed to do some more raking but DH decided to wash the outside windows, who am I to say no LOL. They are nice and sparkly clean now! Sorry that you got a headache from sitting at your desk so long, I get one too when I stay on the computer too long. I have to remind myself to put in my mouth guard, because the headache is usually from clenching my teeth and I don't realize I am doing it. It would be great to send all your upcoming rainy weather to California, they sure could use it! So much devastation!

Kay - How fun that you are a Red Hat Lady! I often see a group of Red Hat ladies at different functions around here and it always looks like they are having such a good time! Have fun celebrating your birthday month! Hope you do not get the snow! I never realized that you were at such a high elevation, very interesting! Many years ago I owned a Red Fox Fur Coat (when we lived in Saskatchewan) It was the warmest most cozy coat I have ever had! Would never own another of course, but I sure loved it at the time!

Ok ladies I have to run and get some things done before Heather and Hunter call on facetime. I will catch up with the rest of you later on today!

Today's forecast has possibilities of snow in the area but we are hoping it's not going to be anything much as we plan to go see Bohemian Rhapsody this afternoon but it is not at the theater close to us. Still have lots of genealogy stuff needing attention but took time to scrap a page and Saturday had fun at the annual Mayflower luncheon in celebration of their first Thanksgiving. Watched lots of football over the weekend. Don't know where the time goes.

Chris, it would be great if we could blow some of the wet to CA! Bet you did accomplish more than it seemed, especially since it gave you a headache. Thanks for the comments on my page of DH and his brother. As DH is less than two years younger than your Dad, guess it would be similar. Looks like a good time was had at Dad's birthday. Love the photo of you and the kids and the page with it.

Nancy, hope you are feeling better today!

Kay, how nice to know you're in NM. My parents retired to Carlsbad (now long gone), but that is a different, lower part of the state. We visited many areas as birders, but not in the winter. Sounds too cold to me.

Trudy, your art projects sound fabulous. Wish I could see you at work and enjoy the new techniques. Hope the pool was quiet and you got lots of time for the artwork.

Rae, know you're very busy on the Monday kind of Tuesday.
