Looks like no one noticed (or was too polite to say it) that the Date-Challenged Faery messed it up yesterday. And you would think I would know what day Nov 10 actually was. *Today* is the 10th since it's my dad's birthday. Not yesterday. LOL

What a beautiful day outside it was. I even made it out for a short walk with Gary and W.
I was able to get a bunch of things taken care of yesterday, not that any of it is visible if you walked into my house. Or peeked inside my still very discombobulated brain. Progress with my ankle is good, a few bills were paid, and the food order is 99.9% done. As of right now, the only thing I forgot to add is the carpet cleaner. I should be able to get that added on if I do it asap. If not, I can run into the local feed store, they also do curbside if I needed to do that. I had to bring Ray to the vet to get her weighed so they could make sure that her doses were correct for her heartworm/tick preventative meds. She has lost 5 lbs in three months and 10 in the past year, enough for the vet to be concerned. I am going to call to make an appt to get some blood work done and see if there is anything that we can do.
I also got some distressing news from my SIL about her health and she is telling me not to worry but I can't help it. 2020 has been s***.

I think today is going to be the last nice day but I am not 100% sure what I am going to do. I have more stuff around the house to take care of. Cait has an appt with the immunologist/allergist. I wish I could go with her. I doubt they will clear her for the flu shot since she is still breaking out in hives daily, hopefully, I am wrong and she can get it. Although it isn't like we are going anywhere ever again. My little town has 20 new cases in four days. Scott was going to apply for a job at the garden center he worked at for years for the holidays and we told him that it was up to him but we preferred that he didn't. He feels like he is a "bum" leeching off his parents at 24. If that is the case, then I guess I am a bum when my parents and ILs help us out LOL
I think he would be fine if it was just going to be doing the Christmas trees outside but he's very concerned about bringing it home to Gary and Caitlyn. So I made the call for him and told him that I wasn't ok with it so he didn't have to put pressure on himself. You could see the relief on his face.

I got a bunch of photos from my SIL this weekend of Christopher's baseball team - they won a championship!! I plan to buckle down and get some pages scrapped. If not today, then this week.

Hugs!!!

Trudy- With your long driveway, a snowblower might be a good idea. Ours hasn't worked in years but it was a big help when we only had two cars and Gary was working and I had to do it on my own. Now having three cars taking up space and "kids" to help, it isn't as necessary. Just make sure it has a push-button start!!!
And yes, your memory is correct- you shoveled a LOT last year. :smow: I feel bad when I do a page of Christopher and I can't post it on my main FB page. I think there is a setting where you can block it from certain people but I haven't done that.
Everywhere is sold out of the heaters and when they are in stock, they fly out within hours. My mom was on the phone yesterday morning with the stores, it is her new quest ha!!

Rae- yuck about the snow! For wet snow, they clog up quickly so you have to make sure that they are powerful enough to really throw it out of the machine. How did Noel do with his Tx yesterday, any better?

Hi Felis!! Thx for the kitty advice!

Kay- did you have a successful trip to the DMV? Always a good time to be had. /s
Thank you for the ideas for freezing apple crisp. If I ever have any left over, it will be good to try that.

Cheryl-- how darn exciting to see how fast it is all coming along Electricity too! I am happy dancing for ya!
Double happy dancing! Congratulations on the official adoption of Esmae!! She could not have been chosen by a better family to love and nurture her!!

hugs to all of you!!

good morning - yesterday was a gorgeous day and got out for a good walk with Luther. The trees here are still beautifully colored and the sun in late afternoon is gorgeous but hard to walk as it is right in my eyes. LOL We walked and it was so quiet that we could actually hear the leaves falling to the ground. It sounded like rain. The news for Covid in our town is not good. Five of our schools have had students test positive. People are wearing masks. Our governor has put more measures in place. I hope this keeps people more socially distant. My mechanic son came through again as he was able to reprogram a new key for my car. It was nice to see them wearing face masks and gloves. He is off for the rest of the week as today is the birthday of the Marine Corps, tomorrow is Veteran's Day and then comes his birthday. So there will be a lot of remembering and drinking this week for him.

Chris yes the last nice day. I am so enjoying this weather. I am sure that Scott understands your concerns and it is hard for him but these are crazy times. He is a great kid because he has great parents. Enjoy the outdoors.

Trudy yes I remember you and shoveling and your MG taking your car. Hope that is not true. I see the western part of the US is cold while in the east we are having record warmth. Have fun with your MG.

Rae hope the treatment for Noel went well. Good luck. I had to do some stuff for my son and I was horrible at it so really good luck.

Kay I love that we all dress up for our DMV photos. Hope it went fast and easy. Are you getting the cold. My sister in AZ says it is getting really cold for her.

Cheryl your story on the adoption is so uplifting. That is such great news. Kids are very resilient when put in loving situations. Congrats on the lighting for the house. Every little bit of progress is progress!

Have a great day all.

Good morning, ladies.

Didn't do the treatment with Noel yesterday, Jen worked late so we'll do it today. Fingers crossed it goes a bit better today.

Physio was pleased with my progress and says if I continue to follow good posture, don't lift/carry too much, don't sit/stand too long without a break and exercise/stretch every day, my back may be fairly good and I won't be in pain all the time. Sure hope so. I can't remember what pain-free feels like (although it is much less than it was these past few months). This wkend I'll start weight toning again, starting with 2 lb weights. Seems silly to work with such a light weight but I trust my physio when he says I can't go higher right now. I've got more exercises to add to my routine and if all goes well, after Xmas he'll give me some harder ones to do but he says I'm not ready yet.

Last night we finished off season 2 of FBI so will be ready for the return of the show. Now we'll finish off FBI Most Wanted, I think we have 5 episodes or so to watch. Jen and I are going to watch the last two episodes of The Third Day HBO mini series together this wkend. D found it a bit slow but her and I love it (and we both like Jude Law).

Started reading Xmas stories last wk. For Nov/Dec I only read Christmas themed books. Finished Noel Letters and started Christmas in London which I'll finish by the wkend. Then I start Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah. I PVRd a few Hallmark Xmas movies this wk. I love their cheesy holiday movies.

Chris - you're such a good mom. Fingers crossed your mom finds a heater.

Nancy - we have already lost most of our fall color, the leaves have mostly fallen and the rain has started. I'm jealous of your area with the fall splendor.

I'm getting to work now but wanted to pop in and say hi.

Good morning, my lovelies. Thank you all for your good wishes on the house! We are SO excited - I can't even tell you! We got a big surprise yesterday - most of the electricity is done! We got to turn most of our lights on! It was a surprise from Bill (our SIL's brother). He's the head of construction and he told me yesterday that they're really pushing to get us in there by Thanksgiving. We shall see. Here's a link with the new light pictures! Ava and I picked all of them out and Chuck loves all of them! https://photos.app.goo.gl/v8dZ9jC9md2vaRqy5

Our oldest DD, Roger (SIL) and Alyssa (youngest GD) just left to fly back to FL. They never want to leave, but they'll be moving out here permanently on December 18th! Not sure where they're going to live, that's why Bill's trying to get us in our house so they can move in here.

Nancy and Chris, the adoption for Esmae was so heart-warming and especially since I remember how beaten down and sad she was a year and a half ago when we first saw her. She's like a different little girl. They had the cutest clothes on her and her hair was just beautiful - it looked so healthy. She looked like a little princess. Ava took lots of pics, but hasn't gotten them all processed yet. Yes, this family is a big, wonderful, loving family and Esmae is a lucky little girl. Roger's sister (who has been raising her) got pretty emotional, but they were happy tears and she didn't let Esmae see her "moment".

Wow, enough about me. Chris, this is our last "nice day" too. It's raining, but still warm. The temp is going to drop tonight, though. We've had some gorgeous weather, so I can't complain. We totally agree with you about the older kids living at home. We never minded it either and they were welcomed to stay as long as they wanted. Our youngest DD and GS lived with us off and on (more on) for seven years. We can't relate to these parents who say no and I know people like that.

Glad your ankle is better and I hope your brain is becoming less discombobulated. LOL try very hard to keep mine from going there. I have to keep mine very busy, or it will.

Hope you all have a good day - sounds like most of us have some colder weather in store for us. I still need to get a winter hat (beanie?) - I saw some cute ones on Amazon. I need a beige or gray muffler, too. I bought a winter coat recently - the kids and I just happened to be in our one department store and Ava found the cutest coat for me. It's flannel (my favorite fabric in the whole world) and it has a hood on it. It was very inexpensive, too. Gotta love small town USA.

Hugs to all and to all who check in later. XOXO

Morning ladies... I am late checking in here and have to make this quick! I have been on face time most of the morning with Heather and Hunter. It was nice because my DH got to talk for a long time with them also. Hunter was so cute telling his Pops (thats what the boys call him) about his day at school yesterday and how they saw two horses. Big horses, one was brown and one was Black. So cute!! I have swimming today and wonder how much longer I will be able to continue to do my laps. Covid #'s are climbing in B.C. and I sure hope that they don't end up putting more restrictions for us on the Island. I know the mainland where Rae lives has been bad with gatherings and more restrictions have been given to them. Snow this morning on the mountain tops and DH is still on the computer trying to decide which snowblower to purchase. LOL he will study it to death!!

Chris - You are right we need a two stage snowblower and DH I think is leaning towards one that is called EGO 2 stage. It runs on a lithium battery. He owns a leaf blower, lawnmower and hedge trimmer made by this brand and absolutely loves them! No gas to have to worry about and they start so easily, even I like using them! So to have one that I can use to get rid of the snow would be awesome! I am glad that you made Scott feel better about not applying for that job, he is such a great guy for worrying so much about you all! You really are special parents and a loving family!! I hope that your SIL is not too ill!! You are right this year really is S**t!!

Felis - Hello, long time no see !! Hope you are keeping well!

Nancy - Heather was saying that it was so nice and warm where they are also, hope it continues for a bit longer!! Nice to get out on such great walks with Luther, but yes the sun is so much lower in the sky now, it really does block your vision! Dangerous for driving thats for sure!

Rae - sorry that the treatment for Noel did not go well, perhaps better luck today! Glad to hear that your physio is going so well and hopefully you will be pain free soon! Keep up the great work!! Funny how you love those cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies. My DH says he will not watch them with me LOL. Oh well I can see them when he falls asleep in front of the TV, which seems to happen every night LOL.

Cheryl - What a beautiful story about the adoption of Esmae, she truly is one lucky little girl and it must be so heartwarming to see how far she has come already!! Hugs to all of your loving family!! You need to get yourself a Canadian toque to keep your head nice and warm. Yes I love flannel also, especially my new flannel sheets for my bed, so nice and cozy!!

Ok I better get my swim bag packed and get going, have a lvoely Tuesday everyone!

Well, it is now afternoon and I am just now getting in here. I have decided that this will be a PJ day since I haven't gotten dressed yet. Brrr... it has been cold here for the past 2 days... with winds blowing and making it feel colder. Looks like we are going back to 'seasonal weather' now with temps in the 50's - 60's. Looks like I may want to pull out my long-johns soon.

Had to LOL... I forgot to take my jacket off when I had my driver's license photo taken. So much for having a pretty sweater on. It is a turtleneck so some of it shows in the photo. Yes, it was an okay trip there once I found it. The chairs in the waiting area were set at 6' apart and temps were checked before being allowed in the area. It took about an hour but they only had 3 clerks doing them.

Sorry no personals... been busy all morning and need to get some lunch.
