If you want to stop cursing, do a "Curse Jar" and then use the money for Coz!!!

LADC -- oh my what cruddy news about your dh... I hope that he is ok.... not much consolation of being hopefully painfree if it is going to take a year to recover. Good thoughts sending to you~~~~

Buhahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! Dang Chris...........You made me SPIT all over my screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just so the rest of you understand why I found that so funny....I told a story about a tomato getting lost under my car seat....sold the car, and it caused a big "STINK"!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay........my big news for today...........

FINALLY FINALLY talked to the SDD last night!!! DH called last week and she wasn't home, but talked to her DH....we called back again last night and she talked to us both...she seemed very friendly with DH, but was a little distant with me, but I know it will pass...especially since CHRISTMAS is coming :D I just told DH last week that it doesn't matter how she acts, we have two more grandchildren down there, and we need to be in their lives, so "MOM" just needs to get over it!!! He agreed!! I love them all too much to have these "tiffs" going on!! But I have to admit...I do get drained by all the effort from my end!! seems as those scales are tipped way to my side!! HEAVY!!

and the other news...Traci signed all of her papers yesterday, she moves in DEC 1st!! YAY!! She gets to have Christmas in her own home...of course she will spend Christmas Eve night here and the kids will have Santa here...she is very sentimental that way!!! She says it's not Christmas morning unless it's with Mom and Dad...Awe!!! I love that kid!!!! I know that one day she will change her mind, but for now...I will love every minute!!

Okay...since I spit half my coffe on my computer screen...hehehe...I am going to get another cup and then not move until I get my personals done!! might take me a while...but I am doing them!!! :p

Andrea....Your Genny sounds so much like my Traci!!! except Traci is grown up!! LOL...if she is suffering...the ENTRIRE world around her suffers!! Hope you got to bed early last night!!! I DID!!! and you are too funny about those photo shoots!!!! IKWYM though....most of them are so stale and fake...I like the photo shoots of the real life stuff...like all of ELISA's stuff!!

Dawn...my sweet friend..you know I would clean that car for you!!! I didn't do the outside of mine...just the inside...DH does all the car washing!!!! The bike ride sounds like fun and relaxing!!! especially the fishing spot!! I bet those birds were a sight!! I love coming upon nature like that when it's so unexpected!!! Stinks you have to restore the computer!! All that downloading again!!! UGH!!!! But bright side...doesn't cost anything!! YAY!!!! EASY fix!!

Hi Scrapmonkey!!! Glad to see you in the daily Oooo's...if you don't mind..what's your name..first only is good!!! That is terrible about your DH...sending some virtual good thoughts and love for him!!! (((HUGS))) Oh you will have to take pics of the baby blanket you are making!!!

Clara......okay...in my motherly stearn voice....TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!! That throat is not going to heal if you keep yelling!!!!!!...now (((Hugs))) I love ya!! WOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy you got your CAMERA!!!!!and I know you are!!!! Isn't it funny how you feel so lost without it?? HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DEREK...a day late....how nice of your sis to come fix dinner!!! HOpe you had a good time!!!

LINDA P....I would love to see your house!! I know it has to be getting gorgeous by now!!! You guys have done so much work to it!!! AWESOME!! Sorry your back is hurting!! I know mine does, anytime I do anything strenuous...I need to do some situps more than once or twice a year!!

Chris.......Happy Birthday to Daddy "I".......(forgot how to spell out your maiden name LOL)....and YESSSSSS car fresheners would be awesome!! My mom loves them!!! She buys the little cans that have wax like candles, but no wick...you take off the lid and she sets it up under her seat...her car always smells so good!!! when do you need orders by for Christmas stuff?? I am a little low on cash at the moment...so I need to know when to order by.

Okay (((HUGS))) to everyone!!!

gah! Crazy morning.... I didn't realize how much I liked that extra 15 minutes before I had to leave the house w/ Scott when I was driving him to school rather than the bus stop. OTOH, it was way nicer to be back home in 10 minutes, rather than an half hour.

Linda W- ROTF! That tomato story is gonna be one that I am gonna remember for loooong time!
Great news!! I am so happy for you- I know how you are, and if your family isn't "right" then you can't be either. Congrats to Traci!!! And I love that she needs to be w/ mom on Christmas. Love it, love it!!

Back to yesterdays personals-

Dawn- I am so glad that you are having wonderful weather too- it was really nice here as well. What an amazing sight-- I can't wait to see the pics! Bet it felt good to kick back and relax a bit with YMG. yay!

Andrea- I hate studio shots too- I haven't taken my kids in years, no school pics either. But under the circumstances, I can see why it is important to have them done. I cannot imagine how hard it is to not have Vince with you. :( I was actually talking to Gary about you yesterday. I just don't know how you do it.
oh- just got to the part where you wrote that your troubles seem small-- hello???? OMG- you are so strong- I can't imagine how tough it must be for you right now. I could never go through that and stay sane.
Thnx for praying for my boobies LOL
And happy Birthday to Vince too!!!!!!

Love to you all!

quick hi from me...i'm still getting over this wearing-down virus mess!!! But at least it's allowed me to be here at the O more and scrap A LOT more!! heehee!!! I know this is just the way my body tells me to stop completely for a week!!! :) and i haven't really done that!! but I'm making an effort...really i am!! :)

Chris, hope your day is as gorgeous as you, babe!! :)

Linda, soooo glad your fam is back on the mend! I hate those messes, too!! and I hate that we can't control others' attitudes toward us, either...but you are doing a great job!! Don't let anyone tell you differently!!! Hugs, sweetie!!!

okay...i'm gonna go and get me some coffee and sit here and check out what else is happening in the O-land this morning!!

LOVE YOU ALL!!!

So...tomorrow is Veteran's Day and I have lots of info to sort through. I was worried I wasn't going to have any info...but I do. Yay!! Thanks Sally for getting it out that I needed info. So I'm off to sort. Whoohoo!! I'm totally stoked about it. Yay!! I'll try and come back later after info sorting is done. Yay!!

wooohoooo!! I'm excited for tomorrow. We love veteran's day in our house for several reasons!! Quentin (my baby boy!!) is turning 12 on Veteran's Day. It was extra special that he was born on that day, because he is the 5th Don in a long line of Dons (which is why we call him Quentin = fifth in latin...i couldn't call another person Don in my house!! LOL!!) AND all of the previous Dons except for mr gorgeous has served in the Military. My FIL who is ever present in our lives (daily - heeheee - love him) was a fighter pilot in Vietnam and would have probably gotten killed there after his first few tours, but while he was on leave, he fell off of a refrigerator trying to rescue kittens and got a staph infection in his arm and was medically discharged!! Ohhh I could tell you stories and stories that they tell about him, but this post was really about my baby Don!! LOL!!! It is always really fun to see the pride in my FIL's face when we are celebrating Quentin's birthday...not only that, but he looks just like him, too!! Love that!! Ohhhh that reminds me that I need to scan these awesome pics I have of my FIL holding Mr Gorgeous when he was a baby and then one of my fil holding Quentin when he was just born. hmmmmm...sounds like a cool christmas present!! My Fil loves my pic stuff that I do for him!! (you can only buy so many golf balls!!)

okay...i'm totally rambling when I should be doing something, i'm sure...off to quilt a little!! :)

I am not sure exactly what you 2 have planned but it is warming my heart to see so many people post in the Vet's thread. Yay!!:D:D:D

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes for my DH (Jon)! He has been really sick today throwing up (the kind of sick I can't handle), and they think it's from the naproxen they put him on after yesterday's procedure. But I know he'll recover okay. We just have to wait until the 30th to find out the actual results and next steps (crossing fingers it's not surgery again).

My name is Leslie (I've now added it to my siggie). Thanks, LindaW for reminding me I needed to 'fess up (lol)...

clarabear - I am really interested to see what you have going on for the veterans; whatever it is, I'm sure it will be wonderful.

Hope all is well with the rest of you!!!

Me too!! I get chill's when anything patriotic happens. I just love patriotism and I have such a hard time explaining to people that patriotism has nothing to do with politics but people don't get it. I hate politics. hate them...but I love this country and I love the soldiers and everything our country stands for...no matter what a mess our country may or may not be in at any given point. I believe in patriotism and I LOVE Veterans day. Ooooh, I have a lot of work to do. Spread sheets are in my future. Ugh!! Love ya!!

Hey everybody!
Today was a GOOD day! First off, the girls and I were still having snuggle time in bed at 9:00, and we only got out of bed because Vince called. YAY! He's doing well. He misses us, of course, but he sounds healthy and good. It was great to be able to wish him a happy birthday.

We had Atha's parent/teacher conference, and I really like her teacher and T.A. They told me how stubborn and opinionated Atha is, (hee hee!) but also told me that she helps the other kids, which was great to hear. Also, they had more to say about how gifted she is, which is kind of a mixed blessing, if you understand me. I feel like I have such a RESPONSIBILITY to cultivate her little mind. But that's okay, I'm happy to do it. I'm so proud of her.

Then we went grocery shopping and Atha decided she wanted spaghetti and corn on the cob for dinner. So we got some corn, and for dinner we had the incredibly healthy meal of whole wheat spaghetti noodles, marinara sauce with turkey meatballs, corn on the cob, and sweet potato fries. Yummy and healthy!!

After dinner, I found out that our family has been excepted into the Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry! WHAT A BLESSING!! This is a program that offers gift cards to military families affected by separation or other hardships during the holiday season. It's not guaranteed that we will receive a gift card, but just being on the list is awesome. This is so amazing I can't even tell you. I feel so blessed and humbled. We have so much to be thankful for. It's days like these I need to lock up in my brain and visit during days when things are more challenging.

Thanks for everybody's birthday wishes for Vince, and happy birthday to Jesse and Derek, and to Quentin tomorrow!!! BTW, Vince turned 31 today, which means I'll be (GULP) 41 in just under a month. Yep, my hubby is almost exactly 10 years younger than I am. I hardly ever think about that except when our birthdays roll around, or when I want to talk about a cartoon I watched on tv when I was little, or when he mentions something like that. Don't anybody dare call me a cougar or I will scratch you with my razor sharp claws. LOL

Clara, your FB description of what you guys did to celebrate sounds like Vince's kind of day! thanks for having extra fun and getting along for us! :-)

Well, now Gen just spilled Atha's milk on the rug, so I'd better go clean that up. But I won't be crying over spilled milk. LOL!!!

Talk to you kids later! Can't wait to see what Clara's up to tomorrow!

xoxo
