CHEERY O
Really?? Its only November? With all of this snow on the ground? Can't be.
This had to be the oddest h'ween ever. No school, pumpkins cover in snow, falling leaves on top of snow, snow drifts.
Crazy crazy!

It didn't stop my kids which was good, but a lot of towns around me postponed their t or t-ing until Friday or Saturday. The irony of that is that my town is the one with no sidewalks, hardly any streetlights and lots and lots of winding dark roads. Maybe the town figured that we were used to t or t-ing in bad and dangerous conditions.

The kid shave school today- delayed opening, but again, there have been many that are closed today. I hate delayed openings. That 90 minutes throws me off like you wouldn't believe. ;)

I have a quick question for you all, then I have to go get more coffee. I am having a really bad reaction to a rx I was taking and my hands and feet are now covered in itchy bumps. The rest of my body is just plain itchy and red. I am taking benedryl which helps a bit, but do any of you have any other suggestions?
Anything at all is appreciated.

xoxo

Morning Chris and others..

So sorry that you're in itch hell. First thought is a soak in baking soda water or oatmeal. That means bath not shower.

Back after the gym. cya

Morning Chris & Maureen & everyone- just breezing by while my car thaws! Chris- can you call the dr and see what else they suggest, has this med ever done this to you before? Praying it stops soon.

Happy November everyone!

Hi maureen! Have fun at the gym. I would try a bath but I can't- not only does the hot water make it worse, my septic is always screwed up so we have to be very careful with water usage. If I could get to my mom's.... I could take a bath there. Maybe I'll try to shoot down there tomorrow.

Annnnnnd........... I spoke to soon about the delayed opening. My district is classic for this- they call a delayed opening, everyone gets up, gets ready and then they close school. I get that they are trying to keep our snow downs down to a minimum, but sometimes it makes all of the moms go "Ugh!! Really???"

Tip on Tuesday... grrr, I had on in my head when I started typing this and now I forgot. My tip should be that i write down all of my tips when I first think of them!

Chris......we all have skin problems here (lots of dry and rashy skin)...and I buy a lotion that helps with the itch....EUCERIN CALMING ITCH RELIEF....the small bottle is $10 but it's thick and doesn't take much...it's really really good!!

I have Eczema (used to be covered) and when the itch was so bad I would rub all the skin off and be opened and exposed skin all over my body in places...and it would still itch (as well as hurt). I would end up running as hot of water as I could stand on it. It would stop itching...hurt like #$%^&*&^%$ and I would cry...but it STOPPED (don't really recommend this method unless it gets so bad you can't take it)

Gotta run...we have court this morning....should not be anything earth shattering....the judge is going to most likely leave the kids with me and give Traci a lot of grief and set out another date.

Be back later

Aloe Vera! Best thing ever for any itch! I have this spray ... gee I don't remember it's name ... have to go downstairs and check .... wait

(meanwhile - can you send me some of that snow? It's ridicoulous - we have warm weather here?! Like 10*C/50*F - It's NOVEMBER!!!! I want snow!!!)

Here it is: Aloe First Best thing I ever bought. Itch - Spray - Gone. If you burn yourself too - just spray. Looks like nothing ever happened. (and no - I'm not getting payed for saying this LOL)

Today, I'm missing my husband. I'm a total nut case. DH went to Stockholm yesterday afternoon - some sort of work shop for his job. He's coming home late this evening. This means like 30 hrs apart --- And I'm HATING IT!!! I need therapy - it's ok to love someone, and to depend on each other, but this is plain silly! :der:

Also - I usually wake up in the morning with a song in my head. Today's song was Lipstick .... another sign there's something terrible going on in my head - feel free to diagnose me

good morning all....ahh Halloween is OVER!! hehe im not overly fond of the holiday myself...but the kids love it and trick or treating was much better than last year....no one had to wear a winter coat over their costumes this year!! heck not even a single jacket was worn! it was quite nice to say the least!

Morning ladies - what a night. It was A's first Trick or Treating experience (she's almost 3) and she had so much fun. I, on the other hand, was completely worn out. Glad it's over for this year.

Well, no gym for me today in the end. Got in the car and after a block or two, there was a light on on the dash. One I'd never seen. Came home and Dick and I found that it was an engine emissions light. Back into the car to go to the dealer (with him following me in a few minutes) and the light was now off. Oh well. I decided to walk to the library to return a couple of books. Misty weather turned to a light drizzle by the time I was on the way home but no biggie. In the end I got a 30 min walk in the brisk damp air.

Now almost time to leave for a class on iCloud at the Apple store. I'd just as soon pass but Dick would bug me no end. It's always good when he and I are in the same class to hear the same thing because we'll still hear it differently! see y'all later

Chris! You know I'm the queen of bad medication reactions and hives.

Cold water compresses will create the same kind of nerve reaction (replacing the itchiness with another feeling) that scratching does, without causing the damage to your skin.

Aloe is another one of my favorites - I have one with menthol that causes a cooling sensation.

Lastly, my un-natural favorite, is benadryl spray. It's basically putting the antihistamine directly to the skin.

Then it's basically just keeping everything clean & covered... I'm allergic to anti-itch creams (thimerasol) so I really have no other methods.

Tanteva: i diagnose True Love!!

Chris. holy cow. i think i should give YOU my screen name: whatnext!! please continue taking the Benadryl, according to package directions. don't miss a dose. then call or visit your doctor. (easy to do with the kids home now, right?) aloe is good, also Calamine. hope things settle down.

hey. i have a question. for any of you over in NJ or that area: i may drive to visit a friend who lives in Westchester County in NY. i'm driving. I-80, (I-87/287 across the Tappan Zee Bridge, I-684, etc.) am i going to hit the remnants of The Really Big Snow Storm, do you know? i don't have a clear idea where the Big Mess is/was.

just cold and frosty here today. but there's this big yellow thing in the sky that's making it rather pleasant to look outside. wonder what that is up there....

have a good one, everybody.

Good Morning everyone! Just grabbed my :tea: and I am ready to start the day. My day off and I already have most of the housework done, so I am hoping to get some of my calendar pages done today. I a make quite a few and each one is a little different, I really love giving them as part of my Christmas gift to my family. It was a pleasant Halloween this year, the weather was nice and we had about 60 kids this year. I think it was down from last year, but the Municipality puts on a great party for the little ones so I think they go to that instead of doing too much trick or treating. Safer for them too.

Chris - Ugghhh on the itchy scratchy thing!! Like Eva said.. Aloe is the best thing, if you can get your hands on the plant that is the best!! Just rub the gel from the broken leaf all over your itch, Its wonderful!! I got an allergic reaction when I was pregnant with Heather and the dermatologist gave me some wonderful stuff to put in the bath and a cream to rub all over me, but I don't know what it was and that was so very long ago LOL.

Gotta get me some more coffee, then right back for more personals.

Chris, I didin't read everybody else's suggestions yet, but I say oatmeal bath! Vince has urticaria, and we do oatmeal baths for him when it gets really bad.

Good morning :) sorry for popping in and out - lots going on for me today - just trying to keep it all together and get things done!!!

Our date day was awesome yesterday - spent more than I would of liked to - but we enjoyed it! We fell in love with a new-to-us wine and ended up buying a bottle to take home. The movie was great also, I don't see Puss in Boots becoming a series like Shrek... but they did leave some questions open so it could.

Today I'm getting as much done as possible to prepare for Thursday thru Monday. FIL is having an angiogram on Thursday & he's most likely going to need a stint or bypass. So, while they're up north near Frani doing that, I'm going to be taking their car to the mechanic for diagnostics (I'm pretty sure it needs a tune up and a belt adjustment) and managing everything while they're gone. I also have lots of DSD stuff to participate in!!!! I'm excited for that!

be back later for personals - time to fetch eggs from the hens and get put together for the day.

You guys shouldn't tolerate me. I flutter in for a few days and then I wander off. Oh well, for what it's worth, here I am again! LOL

So we had a wet Halloween. I went over to Miss Clara's house so that there could be somebody passing out candy while somebody trick or treated. It all went well, despite the weather, despite two out of four of our trick-or-treatable kids being put on no treat status for part of the night. It all ended well, everybody got lots of candy, nobody got too cold, and I even managed to get everybody in bed on time, which is a big plus.

Had a paper due yesterday which I managed to write in it's entirety before noon as well, which was great. Now entering into finals week for that class. PLUS today I had my annual maintenance inspection on our house. Also, this Friday I have Girl Scouts, AND I have to make a doctor's appt and go to children's services to get the kids enrolled in day care this week. We get several free hours of daycare a month when our husbands are deployed, and I have promised myself I will use them this time. I never do, but I need the break now, I really do. This deployment is kicking our butts. Gen's been having a rough time, plus my MIL had a "cardiac episode," which meant we may have to pick up and go to Pennsylvania at the drop of a hat, which actually now that I wrote it looks super self-centered, the way I put it. Despite what some might think, I am super busy, and really stressed out. That's why I didn't respond to the awesome call y'all just had. I wanted to, I really did, but one cite ct is MORE than I can handle these days, and I just started at another store right after stepping down and ANOTHER store, whatever, it's a long story. I know that there are some hurt feelings and some rumors flying around about me right now, and that makes me feel bitter and sad, and makes me want to quit scrapping, even though it is like the only stress relief I get.

OH jeebers, apparently I went off on a rant there!

I'm going to do personals in a different post because this one is already the story of my life.

Well I'm back with my second cup of coffee...yummm!!

Laurie - My hubby had to warm up his truck this morning too, hope it gets warmer for you today!!

Linda - good luck with your court date!! I am wishing that things would improve with your daughter's life! You are a great mom and nana, don't ever forget that!!

Eva - Well hopefully you still feel this way about your husband being away from you in 20 years from now!! I say true love too!!

Kiliki- sounds like a very pleasant Halloween for you and the kids!!

Maureen - too bad you did not make it to the gym, but I would take a good long walk over the gym any day!! Hope your little crisis with the car is not too big of a deal!
Have fun at your ICloud class, any kind of education is good!!

Meg - how are you today??

Phylis - Get out there and find out what that big yellow thing in the sky is all about LOL hope you have a great day!!

Andrea - Hope you don't have a stressful day today, although it sounds like your plate is extra full of stress! Sending you lots of caring thoughts!!

Well I have my photoshop open and waiting for me to get started so I will say goodbye for now and hope to pop in here later

Phyllis- it is still a mess over here. About half of the north jersey area is still w/o power and you'll be traveling through all of it. Hudson Valley NY was hit very badly too, not sure of their details but guessing as bad as us, if not worse.

here is a link to the New York area traffic as of this am
http://www.traffic.com/New-York-Traffic/New-York-Traffic-Reports.html

Bad bad bad!

When were you thinking of going? The utility co's are saying that power might not be completely restored until late Wed/Thursday.

Eva - Well hopefully you still feel this way about your husband being away from you in 20 years from now!!

I absolutely will! We've been together now for 21 years, and I can't live without him. True love is a good diagnosis - won't take any meds to cure it though :)

Chris- I saw "kid shave school," and I was like, does she have somebody in barber college? Hahaha! I hate delayed openings too. On Wednesdays here, every Wednesday, the kids have early release, one hour early. It sucks, every single Weds.
Oh, and I see now that you'd already had the oatmeal bath idea suggested. Maureen, great minds!

Nana- I hope court wasn't too traumatic. I feel for ya, Woman.

Eva- My hubby is gone for a year. Blah. This is the fourth time he's been gone for a deployment, and then when he's here he's often away for a few days, a week, a month.. Know what? It makes me feel sometimes that my defenses are too strong against him, and even when he's here I won't let myself open up to him like I should. You go ahead and love your man like crazy, and make him feel happy when he comes home! Plus, while he's gone, you can listen to all the loony music you want! Hee hee!

Kiliki-It's so funny how different Halloween was everywhere! We had cold and wet, some others had snow, and sounds like you had it best! Yay!

Stef- you guys are going to have the greatest holiday season this year! At that age, all the holidays are just now starting to be awesome. Take lots of pictures!!

Maureen-Oooh, are you learning lots of cool stuff about iCloud? I love taking different classes! Of course, I say that, and then I complain every day about having so much work to do on my own classes! The one I'm taking right now is so boring, it's on Public Health, and I will be happy when finals are over after this week and I start the next one, on Wellness for Optimal Living. Now that's a class!

Meg- how ironic, being allergic to anti-itch cream! Oh, I'm so jealous for your fresh eggs. I hope that your FIL is doing well. My MIL is in the same boat. No stints yet, as they haven't figured out whys she's having "cardiac episodes," but I bet the chain smoking and diabetes aren't helping her. Also, you remind me that I need to get the truck in for inspection so we can renew our registration.

Phylis- That big yellow thing makes me want to take out my small black thing and push lots of buttons. We have it in the sky, too, and lots of lovely-colored trees. Ahhhhh....

Trudy- thanks for the relaxing thoughts! I'll be okay. It's just all about one day after the other. Sometimes I forget they aren't all happening at once!

Okay, the baby is sleeping, and I should at least pretend to do some work! Ta ta for now!

Sitting in the Apple store waiting for a tech to resolve one of my issues with iCloud. Class was great but now....Dick went off to get lunch. :(

Running very behind today. My mom had appts this morning and then ran several more errands and now it is afternoon and I have lots to do, but since I'm a morning person I don't seem to have the energy to jump in and get things done this afternoon..........I guess they will be there tomorrow........or the next day.

Hope your Tuesday is going well.
Donna

:twitch: today has been insane!!!! I can feel a migraine starting to form in my ear now, I've had knots forming in my neck all morning. Of course my hearing has already completely diminished, and my MIL has a cold... so she can't hear right now... we're quite the pair!!!

I did made some pumpkin bread, so there is a good thing to be enjoyed today!!!

After personals I need to go sit outside with the chickens. Patty is yelling up a storm at her sisters because they want to be inside the warm coop, but she wants them outside in the run with her. She's about to get squirted with the hose!

Chris - How is the rash now?? I hope you get better soon!

Laurie - I hope your car thawed nicely!!!

Nana - how did court go? I've been praying for you!!!

Eva - I know exactly how you feel with your husband away!!! I go nuts when that happens to me!!!

Kristy - glad you had a warmer halloween!

Stef - glad you got halloween over with & your little one got to participate!

Maureen - I hope the class went well and the problems were resolved!

Phylis - I hope you have a very safe trip and avoid the storm mess!

Trudy - Did you get your calendar done? I can't wait to see it all!

Andrea - You take all those free hours of childcare!!! You deserve the break! I hope things with the in-laws improve, I know it isn't easy. I can't believe people would be spreading rumors about you over something so silly - just turn your back and continue to do what you enjoy. People who spread rumors like that are the bitter and jealous ones.

Donna - I hope your energy returns!!!
