Happy Cinqo de Mayo, O-zies! I don't celebrate that, not since I was teaching, and not since my kids were little and it was an excuse to have tacos for dinner.;)
Do you celebrate it at all?

Yesterday was beautiful- actually hot outside. I woke up not shaking and that was wonderful! You don't realize how something like full-body tremors affect you until they stop. Unfortunately, I ended up overdoing it (Shocked, are you??? ) and by the afternoon, the tremors came back.

I spent a little bit of time outside trying to rescue my lilies. Gary identified the bugs as red lily leaf beetles, and there isn't much you can do to get rid of them except spray neem oil (of course I ran out of that last year) or diatomaceous earth, and picking them and the eggs off by hand. I only found a couple of the bugs, tore off the leaves that had been chewed through and any of them that had what looked to me to be eggs. Last year, my lilies were so infested that they killed all of them. I had to cut them down to the ground with hopes that they would come back this year. They were just gorgeous when they bloomed- bright reds and whites. I think it is supposed to be nice again today, so if I can spend another hour out there, I will keep on working on getting rid of them.

We are also on Puppy Watch. This is really hard! We got the cats in for their shots yesterday. A vet that we don't use was able to see them in the afternoon. And I was quickly able to see why we got in same day, as opposed to our regular vet, who couldn't get us in until Friday. The staff was very nice, but he was an idiot. Our Floyd is 15.75 lbs. He is a solid muscular cat. He took one look at him and said that he was overweight and should be about 12 lbs. If he were at 12 lbs, he would be emaciated!

The came Kitty, I mean Catzilla-- we know that she is overweight. She is a fat cat. He looks at her, seems shocked that she is still alive- how dare we let her get that fat--then proceeds to tell us that her head is big. WTH?? Her head has always been the tiniest thing about her. We laugh b/c we always take pics of her from the neck up cuz her belly is ginormous.
This dude-- just very odd... But we did what we needed to do, the cats are now up to date on their shots, so Puppy Search can go forward. We called (and emailed heh!!) the Adoption agency and let them know that we really wanted the puppy asap. They were going to get in touch with the foster family and get back to us. All night we waited for a call back. Nothing :(

It is all good, just waiting, waiting, waiting. Faery and her clan are not very at waiting.

QOTD Are you a patient person? I am pretty patient with things like waiting in lines at stores or in traffic. Waiting for something like a phone call, whether it be for medical test results or puppies, i am most definitely NOT!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! I miss all of you!

Trudy- what are supertunias? I would love to see some pics. Are they giant petunias?
Too funny about the interment. My MIL still has her MIL in the linen closet and that has been 20+ years :D
Argh about the neighbors arguing. I hope that they get their acts together so you don't have to hear them all summer. But the wine outside with YMG-- that sounds heavenly!
OMG-- thank goodness that they found your phone/wallet. I would have passed out on the spot. I am notorious for leaving things like eggs or water on the bottom of my cart, but my phone, I would have died!
Good luck with the pool being quiet for you today, have fun!

Sharon- I hope that the pool stays open for you and WTG for keeping this up!!! Smart lady for passing on the golf outing if it was only going to make you aggravated. Hmm-- could this be something you are not patient with? LOL).
My phone isn't password protected either. It was at one point, and it was such a PITA that I took that setting off. Maybe I am way less patient than I think that I am??
I sitll have dreams that I am in HS/College and am late for a Final and I don't have a pen and I can't find the room. I wonder it that theme ever goes away:)

I love those candle scents! Yummy!

Ok all of you lurkers-- come on in and say hi!!

xoxoxoxo!

Mornin'. Glad I took photos of my flowers in the front yard yesterday. It's pouring today! That's the OTHER side of Spring in Seattle! But May is usually nice. It's June (just as kids get out of school) that is normally cold and wet.

We got notice that the Gas Company will be doing some work in our neighborhood today, which will mean no heat, or stove, or hot water for us while they're working. They could be here as early as 8. hmmm...maybe we should just plan dinner out? Not Mexican though. We don't do festivities of any kind, especially where crowds are likely to be. And I know our fav Mexican restaurant will be jammed.

I was patient with Dick for a long time. There comes the day when you just cut bait. No point in spending money and time to be that frustrated, and to have bad thoughts about a friend.

Life teaches patience, doesn't it? We're in the midst of that with the kids' house issue. DD and I remind each other almost daily to "breathe in...breathe out." I find things to distract me...one of the best parts of being a digital scrapper. I tell myself things like, "Okay, by the next time I get my hair cut, this will all be over...."

Well, I'm going to treat myself to one more cup of coffee before getting ready for the day. I was hoping to have a lay-in (or is it lie-in?...where's Phylis???) this morning, but if the gas guys get here early, I need to be dressed (they need access to the house), and DH is at breakfast with the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out), as usual on Tuesday morning.

Morning! It :rain: here early, early this morning and the dust and pollen are settled and the air is so nice and clean and sweet smelling! I love this time of year, this and the Autumn, guess I am not a hot summer person?? If they could make a scent that is just like the outside fresh air with a hint of cherry blossom in it then that would be my fav candle scent!!

Chris - so happy for you that you got to spend some time outside and the warm temps have finally found you! Supertunias look like regular petunias but they don't need to be plucked when the flower dies. They are the only ones I buy now and if I don't get them early then I don't get them at all because they have become so popular!

Sharon - Good for you for not surrounding yourself with frustration and bad thoughts! Life is too short to do that! We try to avoid the busy restaurants for special occasions as well. Sometimes its a treat for us to order out from Original Joe's and get the Dragon Boat Lettuce Wraps, Yummy :hungry: We love the food but the restaurant is always so busy and very noisy!! Hope things clear up soon with the new house for your DD, it must be so very frustrating!! I saw your layout of your flowers!! Stunning beauty!! Mine are just coming out now, guess we have been a bit cooler than you lately! But I have all my plants to start my hanging baskets and my supertunias for my deck pots, soon I will have lots of colour for the summer.

QOTD - I am very patient when it comes to my kids and grandkids, but I have this thing where if I get something new, it has to opened right away and dealt with or it drives me nuts! Waiting for phone calls not so good at, dealing with stupid people really not so good at!! :becky: So I guess I am NOT a patient person.

Ok I need another cup of coffee and some breakfast, DH is off to Victoria for a course today so I will not see him until well after supper. Off to swim, then a bit of shopping to find something to wear to this internment on Thursday. Maybe a visit with my sister also. Have a wonderful day everyone! Hope the sun makes an appearance where you are today!

Yesterday spent time on financial record keeping then took my sister to pick up repaired hearing aid and some shopping. Have to leave soon for a genealogy group board meeting. They are always fun. We're getting some rain here too but it's still nice. Briefly sun hit the blooms on the crabapple - so gorgeous.

Patient? Not likely. And I get worse, just a cranky old lady these days. We also prefer to avoid crowds and have no special tie to Cinco de Mayo.

Chris, hoping the puppy comes through. Strange sounding vet, but OK since he got the job done.

Sharron and Trudy hope you have good days despite the rain.

Have a good one!
