Happy Cinqo de Mayo, O-zies! I don't celebrate that, not since I was teaching, and not since my kids were little and it was an excuse to have tacos for dinner.
Do you celebrate it at all?
Yesterday was beautiful- actually hot outside. I woke up not shaking and that was wonderful! You don't realize how something like full-body tremors affect you until they stop. Unfortunately, I ended up overdoing it (Shocked, are you??? ) and by the afternoon, the tremors came back.
I spent a little bit of time outside trying to rescue my lilies. Gary identified the bugs as red lily leaf beetles, and there isn't much you can do to get rid of them except spray neem oil (of course I ran out of that last year) or diatomaceous earth, and picking them and the eggs off by hand. I only found a couple of the bugs, tore off the leaves that had been chewed through and any of them that had what looked to me to be eggs. Last year, my lilies were so infested that they killed all of them. I had to cut them down to the ground with hopes that they would come back this year. They were just gorgeous when they bloomed- bright reds and whites. I think it is supposed to be nice again today, so if I can spend another hour out there, I will keep on working on getting rid of them.
We are also on Puppy Watch. This is really hard! We got the cats in for their shots yesterday. A vet that we don't use was able to see them in the afternoon. And I was quickly able to see why we got in same day, as opposed to our regular vet, who couldn't get us in until Friday. The staff was very nice, but he was an idiot. Our Floyd is 15.75 lbs. He is a solid muscular cat. He took one look at him and said that he was overweight and should be about 12 lbs. If he were at 12 lbs, he would be emaciated!
The came Kitty, I mean Catzilla-- we know that she is overweight. She is a fat cat. He looks at her, seems shocked that she is still alive- how dare we let her get that fat--then proceeds to tell us that her head is big. WTH?? Her head has always been the tiniest thing about her. We laugh b/c we always take pics of her from the neck up cuz her belly is ginormous.
This dude-- just very odd... But we did what we needed to do, the cats are now up to date on their shots, so Puppy Search can go forward. We called (and emailed heh!!) the Adoption agency and let them know that we really wanted the puppy asap. They were going to get in touch with the foster family and get back to us. All night we waited for a call back. Nothing
It is all good, just waiting, waiting, waiting. Faery and her clan are not very at waiting.
QOTD Are you a patient person? I am pretty patient with things like waiting in lines at stores or in traffic. Waiting for something like a phone call, whether it be for medical test results or puppies, i am most definitely NOT!
Hope you all have a wonderful day! I miss all of you!
