If this thread disappeared and reappeared before your eyes, you aren't hallucinating. I started the thread, replied to a different topic in *this* thread, and tried to delete it all and then I don't even know what I did or am doing. I am going to try to post this... and if you see it, awesome! If not -- I know that I tried my best LOL

I can't tell you how long and empty the days are hanging about by myself. I am not used to it. I am used to people and pets interrupting me nonstop. Gary was feeling more energetic yesterday but the congestion and coughing were worse. He is staying far away. Cait is almost back to normal and had a very happy surprise. Tom texted me to make sure that Caitlyn was going to be home (on the extremely odd chance she would actually need to go out) and he stopped over with a bag of snacks and candy for her. They sat outside for a few hours - masked and distanced- and I know that made her thrilled. She had been so sad since they had a longish weekend planned together that got messed up and she missed him so much. He texted me how much he missed her too. My Mama's heart is happy

I was outside for most of the day, I haven't seen Tif and their friend in a while. Gary moved their little planter home to trim the hedges and even though I moved it back, they haven't been around.
Today is supposed to be really hot and humid. I am sure I will end up outside sweating my butt off but should plan on going out earlier. Hehe, with Gary and Caitlyn hanging out upstairs, I haven't had to put the AC on down here at all
It's the end of the month so I have some last-minute cheery o things to do too.

Of course the kids' managers gave them compliments, they are good, hard-working kids. They get it from their mama. Dad too You should be very proud!
I am sorry that you are pulling the house off of the market, but if it seems like now is not the time, listen to your gut.

@BrightEyes Yuck, the smoke and haze must make everything look grungy. That's too bad about the balloons being grounded by the wind. Will they go up on the 4th of July, weather permitting?

@taxed4ever that is fab news that Heather and the boys are feeling better - a pool day sounds a lot more fun than school. Probably a good thing that they all had an extra day at home anyway. Are they almost done for the year? NJ goes until the end of June.
I hope that once everyone is healthy I can go and visit the baby, I haven't held a baby in forever. It can't be that the last baby I held was Christopher????!!!

@bcgal00 I saw the photo of the tortoise! And the horses! I am sure I missed a lot of them, but what a fun day you must have had. I would 100% want to live there! (And there I go again with the !!!!s) So happy for you and Jen- it has to be good for her to be around the animals too

Oh no, that is horrible about your dad and Mark. I hope that it is all just a mistake but if you think something is not right-- you probably are. Good luck with moving. Caitlyn did that with my mom, interviewed her, and I have the files saved to my computer. I know it is going to be heartbreaking someday to listen to them but treasured as well.
*gulps* That is a really difficult spot to be in with your DS and his GF. After what happened with Scott and his long-time GF and his best friend, I wish I had seen signs, but even if I did, I don't know if I could have changed it. It is definitely a damned if you do/damned if you don't situation. I hope that he sees the truth - whatever it may be- on his own and sooner rather than later.
Your chicken salad recipe sound very close to how Kay makes hers-- sounds very good!

I see it! LOL Can I just say that I'm glad that it is Tuesday and not Monday. I need a short week. We wound up showing the house three times yesterday. One got here 45 minutes ahead of time and I was in the middle of the boiling potatoes for potato salad. So we are pulling the listing today. Now we focus on Shaun's referral and getting Sydney ready for college. And scrapping!

Morning, all. Not as smoky this morning but still enough that I won't open the house. The wind was terrible yesterday afternoon and late evening. I decided to watch a couple of DVDs but had to turn the sound up to hear it over the howling wind. Can't chat long as I want to get my errands run before the winds get bad again this afternoon. I talked to DD#3 - she is still sick. She has a chest cold that she got from her #2Son last week. Told her she should do a Covid Home Test just to be sure but don't think she will. Needless to say, I won't be around her until she is completely over whatever it is. So glad I had decided to forego trying to see Top Gun II... the crowds to see it here were horrible... nearly every showing was sold out.

Will try to pop back in later today to do personals.

Morning ladies!! Another quick in and out for me again today. I am off to have my spa pedicure today, so looking forward to having my feet massaged and made all pretty! This is a gift from my wonderful sisters for my birthday, just wish they were able to join me! I have another gift from my DH for a spa day for my birthday, but have been putting that one off until I can get my nails to grow a bit more. It's a package for a facial, manicure and pedicure, really looking forward to that one! I am spoiled!! I need to get a few more things done for month end here and other than that I have the whole afternoon to do whatever I want LOL. DH and I might go see the new Top Gun movie tonight, we will see how he feels after his long day of work. It has been very busy for him these past few weeks as he has a new person working with him and she is still learning.

@faerywings - Sure hope that you will get to be back with your DH and kids again soon! Funny how you always wanted the house to yourself, but when it happens, you want it back the way it was LOL. Aren't we funny creatures never satisfied. Sorry that Gary is still so congested, hopefully that won't last too much longer! Glad to hear that Caitlyn is feeling almost normal again and how sweet for her man to bring her goodies and let you know how much he misses her! Yes, young love!!! Awwww!!

@LSlycord - Uggh on the early arrival of the people to see your house! It will be a big relief to have the house off the market and perhaps you can try again when everything else in your life settles down a bit??

@BrightEyes - oh my that darn wind!! It has been windy here too, not today, but so much more wind here than we are used to having, the wind really bothers me, it gets on my nerves. I think it comes from the years we lived in Saskatchewan, it was windy almost everyday!! Sorry to hear your daughter is still sick. Probably is Covid, which is what I am sure Heather and boys had, but darn she would not take a home test either. Said what difference does it make, we are all stuck at home anyway. Hope you get your errands all done before the wind starts to howl again!

Just a quick in and out this morning. I am off to the dentist in a few minutes. This is my first visit with the new office so hope I like them. I hate dentist stuff and always get nervous.

Waiting for my lens today but it says it may be delayed so not sure if they mean late in the day or another day...ugh.

Been busy all day with some genealogy research. Urban is planning to go to "the war archive" in Stockholm soon, and I've been trying to figure out what I should look up while we're there. There's a 70 restriction for documents in Sweden, this means that the archives from WW2 are open. My paternal grandfather have a "missing year" in 1940. I have no idea where he was, and I want to find out. Grandma, dad and his siblings had a hard time during WW2, especially this year where grandpa most likely was in some kind of prison. I want to know why. And where. It's an enigma.

We have a subscription on a genealogy site/web archive, and I've been scrolling through books all day. But there are files I need to go to Stockholm to check. We'll see if we go next Wednesday, or if we same it til Urban's vacation.

Genealogy is a struggle - and you never get done. And once you start, you don't stop until your eyes are bleeding. LOL Good thing Urban got home from work and need to use the subscription site (he's working on research for his next book). I can rest my eyes. LOL

Good afternoon.

I'm about fried. My stupid laptop updated some time yesterday- not 11, but some stupid new version of 10. It changed everything! All I've done since I got on here after the party is screw around with it. Chris @faerywings it might be what happened to yours. It changed everything everything was huge. My message boards wouldn't even fit on my screen. If I make them smaller, then they're so tiny I can't even read them WTH????? I've done two "resets" back to a former point and it's better, but still wonky. I hate when that happens - stupid Microsoft!! Now, I'm in the process of figuring out how to keep it from updating at all! I'll have to go into DOS again to get that done. Trudy @taxed4ever does Mac have those automatic updates like PC? For some reason, I didn't think they did. Today, when I was researching this problem it did mention Mac. So now I'm confused. This just drives me crazy! At least my files are all "normal" - with Windows 11 it changed all of my files. It's awful! I've got that stopped, but now I have to figure out how to stop all of them. UGGGGGGHHHHHH I've got two blog posts due in 2 days - I don't have time for this.

I'm just now back up and running and it still isn't like it was before - I may have to do a third system restore.

Chris @faerywings I'm glad I made Braxton feel good about his skin. I know how sensitive he must be. We had a great time last night and Chuck had a great birthday even though he didn't want a fuss made. Alyssa brought a girlfriend, Braden brought his girlfriend and Tom (Roger's helper) also came over. I had to warn Alyssa's friend that we were very noisy - especially in our small house. It didn't seem to bother her - heck we're noisy wherever we are. Hahaha How sweet of Tom to bring Cait some goodies. That's so sweet.

Trudy @taxed4ever it's going to be interesting to spend 2 weeks with Asher. He's really "changed" this year - I'm pretty sure that the lockdowns didn't help him. He suffered schoolwork wise during that time. A lot of kids are messed up over that, or so I keep hearing. It was now a good thing for those ages, especially. I'm hoping he'll open up w/o his parents here, though. They're having problems with him which are so un-Asher like. He even lost interest in soccer - just quit. The fact that he jumped at the Ninja Warrior Day Camp gives me hope that he wants to get out of the house. I DO have a video game setup for him, thanks to Braden, but his time is going to be limited! He's not going to sit on it all day and all evening.

I have a lot of Cheeryo duties to finish up too so I hope I get this computer thing tuned up - it's still not right but at least I'm using it.

@Cherylndesigns - Mac does have updates but I have them set to not do auto updates but to notify me first. My Mac is pretty old, so not very many updates it can do for me anymore and I am just fine with that!! I despise PC's!!
