The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I am a broken record, aren't I? All i can think is where the heck did this month go? The last day of May? Really??? Gah!!!

The weekend kind of flew past, but at the same time, it is starting to feel like summer, which is amazing!! i cannot wait for Caitlyn to graduate and be out of school.
I can't remember if I told you all or not- Cait didn't want to walk at graduation and after talking it over among her, Gary and me, we agreed that she didn't have to. I didn't want to go to either of my graduations, Gary feels no connection to his Grad. Scott feels the same. So why force her to do it? She feels more pride in winning the Dept. Award and Preschool Grad than HS grad.
(Not to mention, it is much easier on us, no need to sit on bleachers for 2 hours listening to the same speeches we heard for 8th Grade grad and Scott's HS grad. :blah: )

We decided that we would have a Grad party on Father's day which would be the day before the Ceremony. We have Scott's gown, so everyone can take pics of her in it. That was my biggest concern- we wouldn't have pics of her. No cap, but gown and medal- it works for me! Now we will have a June Celebration for the Dads, and Caitlyn, and Gary wants to celebrate my b-day too, but I don't want/need anything for my b-day.

Today I think I am going to try to paint the wall in the DR that the ^*^$%#$ has peed on too. Seriously, so done with him, which makes me sad, cuz he is still my pet.

And I *still* have to clean the papers in my office. They are all over the place! I'll get there. Someday. :p

Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Do you like macaroons? If you do, today os a good day!
It’s National Macaroon Day! Macaroons are small unleavened cakes with a crispy outer layer and a moist, chewy center. Although they are the same size as cookies, macaroons do not contain any flour and therefore do not fall into that classification. The most popular macaroon varieties are coconut, almond, and chocolate.
Culinary historians believe that macaroons originated in Italy. In fact, the word “macaroon” comes from the Italian word for paste: “maccarone.” A primary ingredient in early macaroon recipes was almond paste.
In 1533, Italian monks and nuns introduced macaroons to France. Two Benedictine nuns, Sister Marguerite and Sister Marie-Elisabeth, began baking and selling these small sweets to help pay for their housing. They became known as the “Macaroon Sisters,” and their baking became famous throughout Europe.
To celebrate National Macaroon Day, buy some delicious macaroons or bake a homemade batch to share with friends and coworkers!

Trudy- oh your house must feel so happy and lively!! enjoy every minute with the grands!!! *fingers and toes all crossed for your DS/DIL find a house really close to you*

Online shopping is a blessing and a curse. it is nice that I don't have to physically push the cart around, esp when it is loaded up with heavy items. But it is really hard to make sure that I have everything that I need, hence forgetting to buy cookies. the ones that Caitlyn made yesterday are almost all gone already. Sheesh!
I am a very visual person and when I see things on the shelves it will remind me that it is something I need. Not so much impulse, can't be an impulse shopper in a really tight budget.
it would be such a help for Heather, we started doing this last year after my surgery. I had more control over what went into the cart than if I sent Gary out alone bwuahahah!!!!
Maybe someday she will be able to do that too.

hugs, my dear O-Zies!

Good morning the weather here today should be summer like again with high in mid 80s but with less humidity. Early yesterday the city cancelled the Memorial Day parade but then it never rained so was bummed. Got Luther out twice and that was good for us both. Watched the Pens and Sharks in game one of the Stanley Cup Final and Pens won. Was a great game but you could tell the Sharks were nervous at the beginning. Listen to the new Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton CDs. Some really good songs. And I scrapped. Really got a lot done but still more to come.

Chris I can't believe it is the end of the month either. I completely understand how Cait feels about graduation as that is how I felt when I graduated college but I now wish I had gone. There is just something special about celebrating the end of all that hard work and listening to those speeches by classmates while it can be boring sometimes they help understand where this generation is coming from. I totally respect your family decision just giving you a different view! Sounds like you are going to be busy on Father's day!

Trudy I can hear the laughter coming from you and your grands! Have a great time!

Rae and Kat hope you had a great long weekend!
Have a great day all!

Right there with you, ladies, on wondering what the heck happened to the month of May?! Just think, only 208 days until Christmas! :evil2:

I stayed up waaaaayyy too late last night, watching the Golden State Warriors win game 7 in the NBA playoffs. I was going to turn lights out at half-time, when they were down by 6 ... so glad I stayed until the end. Of course, I could use a power nap now LOL

Sorry about the cat peeing everywhere, Chris. Oh boy. The things we do for our fur-babies, right? We're giving Haddie tons of luvin' right now - a vet visit on Saturday (follow up for her seasonal allergy rash), and come to fine out that the arthritis in her joints is getting worse - she only has about 50-60% range of motion in her back legs now. That kind of explains her trying to chew her leg off at the knee joint - it's the arthritis that's bothering her. Vet has recommended a course of injections, two a week for three weeks, and then once a month ... for the rest of her life. :( If it gives her some comfort, then we'll pay it, but I suspect the arthritis is going to get her before any other illness does :(

On a happier note, I'm thrilled to find out the local farmers market that I frequent in the summer is finally open! They have the best local produce - a little pricey, sometimes, but oh, so fresh! I know where I'll be going each Sunday! Last year I picked up some Brussels sprouts that were as big as the palm of my hand!!

Good morning, ladies. Another sunny day here so it'll be nice to get the dogs out this afternoon for a nice long walk. Yesterday at the river, the dogs were so excited to get out together after the long weekend apart, that they were insane with energy and playfulness together. It was nice to finish up my work, get out with the dogs and get dinner made at a reasonable hour. Watched a bit of tv with my hubs, then he went to bed early b/c he had to get really early this morning for work so I stayed up and watched a show I had pvr'd but knew that Darrell wouldn't want to watch. It was a special by Jamie Oliver about sugar. It was interesting and informative. I like almost anything he does. I really like him. It was especially interesting b/c I have been cutting down more and more with sugar in my diet b/c of the inflammatory response my body has to foods and the resulting headaches and joint ache/stiffness I get. So far, I think wheat and sugar are the culprits and having cut way back on both of these for the last 3 wks or so has made a tremendous difference in how I feel. I tried eating Fritos over the wekend for a snack as they have no wheat and little or no sugar but I felt sick within an hour or two each time I ate them. I read that I could also be intolerant to corn and/or GMO's. I am trying Corn Chex for a few weeks to see how I do with those and if I don't react then I know it's not the corn that's the problem. Figuring out food stuff is so hard.

I'm off to go see if I can find any books about reducing sugar/hidden sugars in foods. I'm interested in learning more about that.

Chris - Sounds like a good plan that works for everyone for graduation and Father's Day. BTW....yum, I do love macaroons but I'm not having any today :)

Nancy - sounds like you had a nice day and yay for getting lots of scrapping done.

Trudy - waving good morning to you!

Gotta go....have a wonderful day everyone.
