Daily Ooos: Tuesday, May 30

Thank goodness for the Daily Ooos or I would have no clue at all what day it is. Today is the first (semi) regular day in a week for me since my plans went all cattywampus (I told you all I love that word!) last week. My under-normal-circumstances calendar-challenged brain is doing this right now:

Although, TBH, that is how my brain is every day LOL. Maybe if you imagine the eyeballs rolling around 100 times faster than in the emoji, you'll have a better sense of what I mean.

How was everyone's Monday and three-day weekend in the US? Phenomenal day in NJ. Gary got outside early and trimmed the crazily overgrown hedges. I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the needles and branches from them. If I leave the needles on the ground, it messes with the "soil, " which has killed my Black-Eyed Susies in the past. It doesn't help that Whisky thinks it's grand to dig and roll around in the dirt. As I was crawling under the hedges and rhododendron - I saw something hop! Nope, it wasn't Tif, this guy is smaller and darker than Tif. But I have adopted him and named him TJ, for Tif Jr.

Faery is a proud toad mama.

We don't have any plans for today. I want to take the dogs for a hike if Gary is up for it but even yesterday he wasn't feeling too good. Hedge trimming wiped him out all over again. His blood sugar was better at least.

@taxed4ever I do the same thing with Gary's birthday- May 3- it comes up way too fast and catches me by surprise just about every darn year. You're not a bad grandma at all! Sounds like your family has way too many May/June birthdays too. They all seem to run together, don't they?
Your yard must look incredible. You both work so hard at it. How have the neighbors been so far this spring, not too loud and obnoxious?
I hope that your Gary gets to see the Dr and soon! Why are men so stubborn?is right!

@vickyday Thank you! 30 years is a long time but I am blessed to be surrounded by so many people who have long relationships and marriages- almost all of my close friends and family are still together.
BTW-- I saw a post of "yours" on FB, I reported it but I doubt it will make a difference. :/
It sounds like you are having a really fun time with fam and friends even though the weather has been wet.

Scientists better get going with the teleportation technology because I agree-- somehow and someday we will have coffee and beach time together.

I totally forgot that Adrienne had the pool built, the kids must have had a *blast* hanging around. Isn't it sad that we are now the "old people" yelling at clouds and telling the younguns to turn the music down? hehe

tell A that I said thanks for the tanner info! I think I have used that one in the past-- *way* past - It streaked on me but I bet the technology behind that is improved. I like the idea of the drops mixed into moisturizer. Probably less chance of streaking too.

ITA-Between vets and shooting survivors, I imagine that fireworks are a tough experience for a lot of people these days

FB makes me want to curse! Not really, LOL! Just aggravates me so much! I guess you saw the "new" me.....young, skinny chick, LOL! My daughter sent me a print screen and said, "My, oh, my, mom! How you have changed!" Thanks for "trying" to report it anyway! But, I am afraid you are correct.....it will do no good, probably! I wish ALL of my friends still associated with that account would report "her" but it still probably would do no good! That's why I'm DONE with FB!

Quick in and out. Getting ready to shower so my sister and I can pick up Ilene and head out to lunch and then play some Qwirkle with her for awhile. She went to supper with us last night and stayed here until 10 playing Qwirkle! She absolutely loves that game! I really like it, too, but I have to admit that I LOVE playing Rummikub on the app with my sister more! Carolyn cannot join us today. Maybe tomorrow.

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out for coffee in the park with the ladies group in a bit. D came home yesterday afternoon and will be on antibiotics and pain meds for a bit but they say he is doing well. Then I'll go drop off a few bags for charity. I sorted thru all my old shoes/boots and next I'll sort thru purses and get rid of most of them. It feels good to purge.

I organized the re-usable bags and have them folded up and stacked in some big cloth bags. I am getting better about keeping some bags in the car to take with me when shopping so I don't have to keep buying new bags. I sure have a lot now.

@faerywings FJ is very cute!

I have to go get ready. HAGD everyone.

Morning ladies... It is another sunny morning, but a bit on the windy side and much cooler! I was hoping to get the french doors painted this morning, but with this wind and all the crap from the trees flying around, that won't be happening. On Sunday morning I got the door painted that goes from the kitchen to the upper patio all painted and it sure looks a lot better! Metal doors, so I had to get special paint. Hmmmm maybe I could get the door painted that leads into the garage done today instead?? Spent too much time on the phone with the bank this morning trying to get a payment reversed. Ugh nothing is easy is it?!! Need to catch up on a few things here at the O and then get on with my day. Tomorrow is hike day and it is close by so I really hope to that! Too windy to be on the lake this morning darn .

@faerywings - Glad you have found a new toad friend to talk to while you are gardening! We don't have any toads in our yard, but the neighbours have some large Bull Frogs in their outdoor pond. Happy Be-lated Anniversary to you and your Gary, it is so refreshing to hear when a couple has been happily married for so many years! Love the photo of your Dad and Christopher!! So cute with their matching uniforms! Hope your Gary feels good enough to go on a hike with you today!!

@vickyday - Sure sounds like you are having a great visit with your sister! How fun that you are enjoying play the games together! Hope your day with Ilene goes well, enjoy your lunch!!

@bcgal00 - Glad to hear that your D is back at home and hopefully improving quickly! Enjoy your time with the ladies in the park today! Yes purging does feel good! You must have a lot of clothes girl!! Seems you are always busy dropping things off to charity LOL. Yup old purses, take up a lot of storage space! I gave up buying purses a long time ago and now only carry a large wallet with a strap, my back thanks me for it!

Howdy everybody. Chris @faerywings I never know what day/date it is either. I always have to look on my watch or my computer. I'll really be messed up with the holiday weekend now because in my head, this is Monday. And I can totally see your eyeballs spinning 100 times faster than that emoji. I know that your brain never stops. Cute little guy - congrats Toad Mom. Have you named him/her? How do you know anyway? I call all of them him. Not very PC, but I know critters don't care.

I LOVE that picture of your dad and Christopher in their matching uniforms. How totally special - I've never seen a kid's uniform that looks completely authentic. He was so little then. My grandfather didn't make it for 50 years - I know he made it for 25 but he acquired emphysema (mainly from the lack of any protective gear back in those days) plus he smoked, as most of them did. He only lived to be 65. I still remember the camaraderie of the firemen and how much fun they had on their time in the station houses. They always had a big candy counter and of course, the minute we got there, we wanted candy. One of my sisters always wanted gym, so her nickname was Gummy and my youngest sister broke her arm once and was in a cast, so she became Wingy. I don't remember having a nickname.

I'm leaning toward getting the drops and adding them to my moisturizer and probably to my face makeup. I'm a little afraid of streaking myself, but you know A is a pro. I've never seen a streak on her body. LOL We had the best time yesterday and that crack about "the old people" kind of irked us. I mean, after all, little girl, you ARE swimming in my dd's pool on a floating chair that costs more than you make in 2 months (IF you even have a job) and you're holding a drink that came out of their cooler and you ARE a guest at their home. Getting off soapbox now. Other than her, the rest of the kids were sweet. We were out there for about 5 hours and I was thrilled that I didn't get any burn at all. I did wear my baseball cap to protect my face and had my sunglasses on.

Braden and some of the guys got the grill going and fixed hotdogs and hamburgers. B had a ball with his friends there and they even had a cannonball contest and I had to be the judge. Oh, the pressure. LOL Of course, Roger had to participate. I went into the house for a minute and one of the boys came in looking for me (they all call me Cici) - he said they needed me to judge more cannonballs. Then two of them did it together and it was a BIG one, but I had to give them 5 each for a total of 10. It kind of got hilarious. I told them it was a good one when they got me wet.

I'm going to sign off. This is the first time I've been able to get on here - had to do the Gallery Standouts blog post today and the Casey came to clean and I talked to Steph for an hour so my day has been eaten up. Hugs to everybody.

I was hacked a couple of months ago and after sending MANY emails to FB about it and not being able to get in I never heard one word! I can't even get into my FB page. Someone from Nigeria hacked into my page and changed the email and password. They keep sending FB Messenger notes to my friends list and bugging people for money! I would encourage you to unfriend "me". "They" even changed my profile picture! And since FB refuses to help me, I'm done with them! Also my instagram was hacked!

@Cherylndesigns a pool filled with friends and family...that's what I was hoping for when we put ours in. That's how Mom and Dad's was. But ours didn't quite turn out like that! No one spent much time in it. We needed the friends and family!

@faerywings I didn't get up in time for the sunrise this morning. I was asleep before 8:30 last night. So sat on the lanai and watched for birds at the feeder. None yet but waiting patiently.
