Good morning and happy Tuesday to you all.

Let's do some nice neck stretches this morning. Breathe in and stretch your neck slowly and gently to the right, with your ear towards your shoulder. Bring your neck back to the center and breathe in and drop your neck toward your chest. Back to center, and then to your left shoulder. Back to center and then gently back. One last breath in as you come back to center.

How are you all this morning? I am feeling a bit better. A lot better, actually. Wow, that was sort of unexpected! hahaha! I can't say that I got a lot done yesterday but I accomplished *things* and that is a good feeling. I finally brought some summer clothes down from the attic and packed up a box of winter sweaters. While I was in the attic, I tidied up the small areas that are "mine." Gary is a hoarder and there is so much junk that it is hard to walk.
I scrapped a page from Pirate Night which was fun and I was thrilled to be able to do something creative. Cait and I are now able to miss Tat and laugh at the same time. I can't remember what we had said but we both started getting very choked up and teary, then we were back to making fun of the time she got stuck in the window of their little house.

I don't think it is supposed to rain today and as long as it doesn't, Scott and I are going to go to the garden center to get plants. No one is doing curbside for plants but if we are outside with masks and gloves we should be ok. The photos from people around the country in pools, boardwalks, etc all not wearing masks gave me such anxiety. I worry about what is going to happen in the next few weeks with cases spiking again. Hopefully not in NJ, we-- and NY- are still declining and have been taking precautions pretty darn seriously. I saw a video of a woman not wearing a mask in Staten Island, NY getting booted out of a store by a bunch of masked shoppers. Good for them!

I guess I will wake Scott up around 10 if he isn't up yet so we will have the afternoon to do the planting.

Gratitudes:
-dirt, plants, more dirt, and more plants
-my ILs who dropped of fresh spinach, broccoli rabe, and a huge -- I mean - huge! bag of shredded cheddar
-Gary for making up a triple batch of his vodka sauce for us, his parents, and mine

Wishing everyone a happy day!

Jean- Yikes, it just occurred to me that you don't have AC, right? And you used to go out to eat or movies when it was unbearable. What will you do this summer? I hope that you are able to find safe ways to stay cool. How was H&S?
I will give a hug to Cait from you

Kay- good luck on the trip to the base and the new meds. Do you have a link to the mask pattern? Maybe Cait can make some more us. The ones that MIL made are too big for our little faces and the way that they fit, really fog up her glasses. The pipe cleaner is a fab idea. Your look fab as well!
I think the imagination comes from my years as a PreK teacher. Even Cait was saying that she would have been a great teacher too- and she would have. But now she can use all of that skill when it comes to play therapy with children. And I had to do all of my teacher plans pre-Pinterest! LOL

Nancy- Happy Anniversary!!!! 48 years is quite an accomplishment!!! Today is my brother's anniversary and mine is on Friday- I think a lot of us used that three-day weekend advantage.
I hear ya, I am s still waiting for the warmer temps too, the forecast says it is on its way but who knows?

Trudy- oh no! How is your back feeling today after the cleaning of the floors, then more painting? I would be terrified to see how disgusting my floor actually is. It is very old and cracked linoleum squares but between the house being all "unlevel" and no money for updating, it will stay the way it is. I used to use Magic Erasers to get the worst of the scuffs out, but at this point, who cares? :noidea: hehe!!
Your kitchen is going to look so huge and sparkling when you are done!!!
How are Heather and the boys?

 to everyone!

Real quick in and out... to answer Chris's question about the link for the masks:
https://www.craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/?pid=1257#picgallery
it comes in 4 sizes... toddlers, kids, teens/ladyies, and men's. I used the teens/ladies size with the full extension at the sides so I could use 3/8" elastic.
She has printable patterns and instructions. If you are adding the nose piece section... be sure to sew the lower edges down before you stitch the bottom edges. Yep... I forgot so had to rip out the bottom of the mask stitches on both of them. I was doing assembly line sewing on them. Thanks for the nice comments about the mask. It is more comfortable than the pleated one I made first.

Nancy, sorry I forgot to say "Happy Anniversary" to you... hope you had a good day.

Need to get dressed and will be heading out to the base soon. CYL

good morning - yesterday afternoon was so lovely. Had a walk to our Memorial Park and because the parade and speeches were canceled they put up a wonderful walk way of large pendants with service men from our city who lost their lives. It was a good way to end the day. My DH got good news and seems his eye surgery will be done in June. Glad for him. My DH has gone to work so I am alone. I will scrap and walk Luther and cook.

Chris glad you got some dirt time in. Sounds like today will be even warmer and I am happy. How nice to receive the veggies.

Kay have a great trip. Hope those new meds do the trick. Stay cool!

Have a great day all!

What is the saying... 3 steps forward and 2 steps back.... Finally got through to the Base Pharmacy by phone to activate my prescription only to be told that they are out of that medicine.... GRRRRR.... and they don't transfer Rxs either. So had to send a message to the doctor to have her rewrite it and send it to Smith's. With my luck it won't get done until late this afternoon. <<< sigh >>> Glad I didn't just drive over to the base to find this out. Turns out that the restrictions on who can go to the commissary are back to only active duty & dependents so I couldn't have gone there, either.

I was in a real funky mood yesterday - not wanting to cook, etc. So I peeled and froze the ripe bananas. Will make Banana bread later on. Then because I had the ground beef thawed out, I went ahead and made the meatloaf. But didn't get it started until after 5 so didn't eat until almost 6:30. It was worth the wait as it was so good. Couldn't believe it but it got down into the 40's last night with some snow on the mountain tops! Glad I caught the news about that so I put a blanket on the bed so slept nice and warm.

Nancy, so glad to hear that your DH can get his eye surgery in June. He will see much better once it is done.

Jean.... no A/C???? Yikes!!! Hope your weather stays on the cooler side until it is safe to go where there is A/C.

Good morning ladies!! Lets see if I can get through this post without a Face time call LOL. Felt so bad for Heather and the boys yesterday! They got a nice big pool for the boys and they have been having such a wonderful time spending hours in it. However in the night a valve burst and now they have to have the pool replaced  They will hopefully have the replacement by the end of today. It is very hot and humid there and also in Ottawa where our son and family live. They have a large in ground swimming pool that they got installed last year, so hopefully they will be enjoying it today! Today will be more of the same for me and I am starting to feel very guilty about not spending enough time here and catching up on my commenting :sorry: I also have to run down to the craft/toy store and find a little something for the 6 year old living next door for her birthday. I still haven't even started a card for her, so I need to get going with that also.

Chris - So happy to hear that you are feeling much better today! I would imagine that talking about T is still tugging at your heart, but also very therapeutic too it is good that you and Cait can laugh over the silly things that T did. My back is feeling just fine and the scrubbing of the floors was harder on my wrists than anything. The hard work was worth the effort though and now I imagine that I will have to do this stripping at least once a year :mmph: Heather and the boys are well, but wishing that the pool was still up. So they have to be content with running through the sprinkler today  They have men working at their place today, finally able to get the new shower in the basement and get that bathroom completed Hooray!! It will be great to have another bathroom!!

Kay - Your Masks turned out great! My sister has made over a hundred of them and shipped them out to Toronto where her daughter lives. She is selling them for her, there is a huge demand for them out there. Not so much here as masks are not mandatory for us at least not yet. Sorry that you were unable to pick up your new meds!! That is so frustrating!! :frusty: Hope that you are able to get them at the other Drug store soon!! Enjoy your banana bread!! :hungry:

Nancy - Sorry I missed saying Happy Anniversary!! Congrats on 48 years together! My brother and SIL celebrated their Anniversary also yesterday and have been married for 46 years. Happy that your DH will be able to get his surgery in June. I am so excited that I have a hair appt. for the 11th of June :bliss: Also I got an email from the hiking group and we will be able to go on our first hike on June 10th Hooray!! Not sure how we will manage the social distancing, but I guess they will have that figured out. Enjoy your walk in the warmth and sunshine this afternoon! Oh and I agree I would love to have an ice cream truck for my birthday too!!

Jean and Felis - I hope that you are having a lovely day and that the temps are not too warm for either of you.

Ok I need to put a coat of primer on the cupboards that I am working on today. Then off to the toy store and hope to get a nice little craft for the birthday girl. Have a great day everyone!

Hello girls!
I've been away, but I didn't feel talkative. My mind is obsessed mostly with daydreams and I can't find form to write about my daylife.

Chris, your post made me very sad! It's unusual for me to be sad about rat, but Cait make her someone's baby, so my empathy respond to that. This girl, your girl, gave to them better chance and deep meaning, that the wild ones don't have. Give to Caitlyn strong hug! And double hugs for Scott, which birthday was ruined by this drama! Unfortunately very common situation in my family too. As the tragedy like to comes in the special moments, so to have maximum damages.

To the other girls, I'll concentrate only to the last post, excuse me if I'm missed something important past few days!

Jean, hope you enjoying as a public of H&S Zoom! It's sounds lot of fun to mee! Do they record and post it somewhere (at Instagram, youtube, ect.) ?!

Nancy, sounds as your town is found creative way for tribute! Enjoy your quiet time alone today! Belated but Happy Anniversary!!! WOW 48 happy years, sounds so unreal! I'm so happy for you and wish you many more!

Kay, ugh, so frustrating to can't get the right meds on time! I hope you have stocks! Not surprising that this affect your mood!

Trudy, hope to replace the kid's pool! Oh it's so funny to have one to play in!
My weather is cold and rainy, but I love this! Thank you for asking! Your comment about the hair appt. makes me smile, because I was thinking exactly about you when I saw how long is the line a front of the hair stylist this weekend. People here are joking that on hike you must keep 2 doberman/sheepdog distance between the humans.

At the weekend I was on shopping for first time of more than 2.5 months. And I definitely don't miss that! New order is so awkward! Very unproductive, and I seriously doubt it will stay, or shopping centers will work on lose. I would love to keep online shopping, and was surprised from the quest where more people chose the real shopping experience. The only reason that I have to do them are prices. Unfortunately books shopping online is expensive and you have to pay also delivery. It was our holiday for Day Of Slavonic Alphabet. But this year the big book sale was cancelled, because even outside there is always big crowd, and also if you can't take and read the back side of the books it is very difficult to choose. Lots publishers give online sales, but as I said expensive and delivery. I didn't needed anything so desperately, as my shelf is still full.

I too find it hard to be talkative, but that's always the case. Today though I have a funny story. DH put on a pair of shorts for the first time this season and was surprised to find a ring in a back pocket. That ring is mine and I lost it when it was loose and I was sure it was somewhere in the laundry and just decided to wait until it surfaced again, as it turns out many months later. So glad to have it again. Also, I wore shorts today for the first time in many years. I envisioned a hot summer so ordered a pair not long ago. Still show off those fat, lumpy legs, but not as bad as they were. :eek:hwell:

Today was again hot and sunny but still not too bad. True, we do not have AC and often don't miss it, but sometimes, as Chris remembered, we are used to going out into AC. We can still drive the car somewhere I guess. We did a little birding today and that was very nice. Tonight we're having a favorite cold dinner, tuna pasta salad. At 10 pm (Eastern/ 9 Central) is the premiere of an ABC program featuring superstar genealogist CeCe Moore on The Genetic Detective. Even DH went to a seminar she did here some years ago.

OTOH I had a six month follow up appt with my primary care this afternoon (changed to a phone call) but while we were out got a voice mail that she had called in ill today and the appt was canceled. Sure hope it's something minor! Don't know when it'll happen now.

Chris, so glad you felt better today and getting those plants will feel good. Wish we had a good plant or digging in the dirt emoji for you! Nice you and Cait could share about little T. And, wow, nice produce and lots of cheddar sounds just your thing.

Nancy, more belated congrats! 48 is a lot of years but like me you've got a keeper. He must be very happy to get the surgery scheduled. Hope you enjoyed the time to yourself.

Kay, bummer that the Rx had to be transferred and that you can't even go to the base. Hope you finally got it so the coughing might stop. At least you called first, smart lady.

Trudy, you have such nice things to look forward to with the salon appt and the hikes resuming. Did you get the card made and a gift? That is going to be such a sweet party. You will hardly recognize your kitchen by the time you finish. It is going to look spectacular. I can sympathize with your kids and grands on the weather and the burst pool. Sprinklers where fun back in the day though.

Felis, thanks for coming and chatting a bit even when you didn't really feel like it. We miss you when you're away. So sorry your book event didn't happen. It must be exciting to look at all the books. Hope you find good reads still on your shelf.

:peace:
