Good morning and happy Tuesday, dear Ooos!
No sun or blue skies out of my window right now so I am going to bring it here myself
Even with the sun visible yesterday it was not a day to be out for a walk or yardwork. It was *freezing*-- windy and very chilly. I couldn't; get warm and ended up wearing my fuzzy, fleece lines sweatpants and heavy sweatshirt. So much for May weather.
I puttered around most of the day, finishing small tasks that needed to get done. Most of them at least. I made cards for two of the three b-days this week. I worked on the grocery order and figured out what I was going to make Gary for his b-day dinner and dessert tomorrow. Since I had a lot of time in the afternoon, I did a 40-minute yoga session. My right wrist is feelin' it today. When Cait was a couple of months old, friends of mine were away and I was taking care of their pets My parents were up to visit the kids so I walked down to their house before they left. It was sleeting and icy and I fell, putting my hand out to break my fall. Except I am 99.99999% sure I broke my wrist instead. I didn't go to the ER- the weather was bad and I wanted my parents to get back home. Gary was at work and I didn't want to take a 2 yo and 2-month-old on the icy roads to the closest hospital-- 35 minutes away. So I wrapped it and iced it and it really hurt for a long time. Now I have very little range of motion, it barely bends. I *think* yoga is helping it but after yesterday, I am not so certain.
Any PTs out there who might have a suggestion on how to get some RoM and strength back?
Gary and I are heading to my parents this morning to get that handrail installed for them. Cait is working remotely today and Scott and Sam are here too. I wish I knew what to feed everyone tonight. I cleaned out the fridge yesterday and there isn't much in there. Chicken/chick'n nuggets and Rice-a-Roni? pfft. I hate this having-to-eat-every-day deal.
If I had a million dollars I would hire a personal chef. Nope. A million dollars wouldn't cover that. If I had a million dollars I would get a Hello Fresh Subscription, that will last longer.
Tip for Tuesday:
I have a good tip today. Last year, @scrap-genie gave me some really good tips on identifying birds. I used them for a while but then stopped . However, I remembered that I had the Merlin App still on my phone and started to use the Sound ID while I was outside in the morning with the dogs.
I have to see if Scott has an extra pair of binoculars I can use because I can't usually see the birds in the trees. The app is neat because it will identify the birds by their song/calls. You can save and replay the recording and it highlights which bird is making what sound. So far, I have heard/recorded House Wren, Northern Cardinal, House Finch, Carolina Wren, Tufted Titmouse, and American Robin. My next stage it to find the binoculars and figure out which ones I can see.
