Happy Day! It is Tuesday! (I know seriously, Chris, just state the obvious! :der: )

I have a pretty decently successful shopping trip with my mom. Lots of good sales. Hopefully everything that we got for the kids will fit.
My mom even bought two things for herself.

off and running for today. Get both kids to the bus, food shopping, working from home, then get Cait to Select Choir Practice, then gymnastics.

My Tip on Tuesday is mostly for moms with kids or going to have kids, but even for people w/o kids in school.

Stay on top of Board of Ed/Town Council Meetings. Y'all know I am a pretty political/aware person, but only recently became uber aware of the local level issues. Saldy, that is really the most effect happns to us as individuals. So many people don't vote for local level or vote based on slogans (I did that 2 years ago- bought a lady's line 100% and now I am KICKING myself). Anyway- Ii wish I knew back then how important local level politics and education mtgs truly are.

OK- I am off my soapbox.....
Back for personals (hopefully) soon!

morning all - read but didn't respond yesterday- another busy week for me! Hello to everyone- hope to stop back in tonight for personals

Good morning. I woke up uber early this morning and thought I'd stop by for a few minutes today FINALLY!!! I will be getting a nap in today or there is just no way I will make it through the day. 4:30 just doesn't work for me but both kids came into our bed this morning and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Ick!!

So, it has been crazy around here and then I realized I only have 1 month until we are out of the house although not leaving for 2 months. I just want to get out of the house so we can rent the house, ya know?? Yesterday Derek started talking about how maybe we didn't need to hire a management company if we had someone to fix things on the house. I asked him if he was crazy and if he secretly took a class on rental laws. I don't know a single thing about renting so there is no way I am going to even try and do it on my own. No way!! That would be insane!! So, there will definitely be a management company involved. I just don't want to even deal with it. I just want to rent out the house until we come back and then move back in. I'm not looking to be a landlord futuristically. No way!! But if we move out in a month that gives us some extra time to find a renter and gets our stuff to NC before we get there. That way we don't have to wait for it.

So, last weekend was crazy. I got home from Michigan on Wednesday and found out that my Aunt, who I knew was graduating from art School was also going to be having an art gallery showing on Friday. I wasn't going to the graduation because she only had a certain amount of tickets and I didn't rate before her kids and mom and a few other people I didn't expect to rate in front of so I hadn't planned on going to Portland. But then I found out about the gallery and that her son, who I hadn't seen in forever was curating the showing...basically was going to be the gallery showing director. Plus her daughter was going to be in a town and I just wanted to go and say "Yay you!!" She's bi-polar and finishing things is not her strongest point so this was a MAJOR deal. I don't know that she will do anything with it, but it doesn't really matter. I was just excited that she finished the school. So I drove my mom down and we helped with some gallery stuff and helped my aunt get calmed down before it started and then hung out. It was awesome. I'd never seen my cousin who did the curating work before. he's an artist in NY and we always see hm when he's on a break of some sort and hear about stuff so it was really cool to see him actually working and doing what he does. Then I came home late late that night with the kids. derek let me sleep in for a little bit, thankfully, because the next day was bachelor/bachelorette party day. My brother is getting married june 12 (and i'm busting my butt trying to make a guest book that i just started like an idiot) and my DH is in the wedding along with my kids so we had the parties on Saturday. I'll have to put pics up soon of the limo that picked my husband up. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. It was somebody's brother's limo and it was total WT!! They had duct taped american flags to the front, it had steel plates on the front. The inside of the roof was this plush stuff that apparently had come out of the inside of a sleeping bag and two of the seats were beer coolers. When they picked up Derek at noon half of the guys were already trashed and one of them, instead of coming into my house to use the bathroom, decided it was a good idea to pee on the side of my house. Good times!! They had to go to Portland apparently because in WA you can't drink at the strip clubs and in Portland you can. Classy bunch of guys, let me tell you. Derek said they went to not 1, not 2, but 3 classy joints. My brother got so alielated he climbed on top of a street light. as in one that changes colors to let cars through. No one got arrested and everyone came home in one piece. The bachelorette party was significantly different. It started at the Maid of Honor's house with dinner and some silly games and a lady who came and gave a little class that was ummmm...well, I'll just leave it at ummmm. I took pictures and didn't have to participate and was very thankful for that. I had limited childcare so i didn't go out with the girls after that but they went out and got nice and drunk afterwards I am sure. I know that was their plan. Sunday was lots of errands and recovery.

Now it is the week and there is lots to do. this weekend will be a bridal shower. That should be a lot of fun too. Well, I am off. I will come back a little later for some personals. ciao.

evening - clara- I get out of breath just reading your post! DH called to tell me to keep next thursday open- he got his invite to an Amish wedding- well the reception actually- so I hope to go. I have been to one- it is interesting because we sit at the "english" table- that would be the non amish table. Anyways that is my excitement for next week- still raining here.
