Good (cold rainy miserable) morning! I am trying to put on a good face but I am feeling too cranky to do it. Yesterday was a really off day for me. I was irritable and depressed and bored, for no real reason.

I spent almost an hour trying to find some recipes for dinner, including one for vegetarian burritos. Gary said that Cait asked for that, only for her to tell me nope, she doesn't like burritos. I will make them when she is away now that I did the research for it. I spent well over 2 hours trying to search down coupons and recipes and I still came up with nothing.
Then I did a bit of "maintenance cleaning"-- stripping beds, dishes and dishwasher, that sort of stuff. By the time I was done with the majority of that, it was only 1 pm and I had a killer headache. I tried to scrap a page, but couldn't get into it. I wasn't happy at all about how it was coming out. I didn't want to cook anything for dinner. While I was looking at recipes, I saw some for corn chowder that looked very good and it was a good night for it. But I wasn't sure if anyone would eat it, including me so I made frozen ravioli.

It was so cold and rainy and all I wanted to do is to plant flowers and veggies. And I couldn't!
I should have been happy. The ILs haven't been able to sell his uncle's SUV so far so they are going to sell it to Caitlyn with a good discount. But it makes me so conflicted that yet again, the family has to bail us out. Caitlyn is leaving for a 6 day/5 night cruise, thanks to Brendan's mom, on Saturday. I am feeling some twinges of jealousy about that and my god, it makes me feel like a terrible mother.

I am hoping that I will feel a bit better today although going food shopping usually puts me in a bad mood too. (what doesn't at this point? ) On a good note, today is the last day for the kids, they have finals today and then they are done with this semester.

wishing all of you very happy days!!

Kay- how are you feeling today? I hope that the sunshine and warmer temps helped cheer you up. I can't believe that we have had the heat on for the last two days. My mom and I were thinking that we would switch our Shore trip from Sept to May since we tend to run into tropical storms when we go in Sept. The ankle surgery put a stop to that and I think we would do better in a TS at this point *wink*
Did the yard guy give good news/prices/ideas?

I have to say how my BIL/SIL's family is so much like mine. Gary's brother and Gary aren't alike in things like hobbies- Gary was in a band, Brian is an athlete- but they are so much alike in core issues. Our kids are so much alike in the same ways and my SIL and I must be a lot alike as well. We don't see each other enough but when we do, it is a blast.

Nancy- We aren't going to get over 60 until later this week! Ugh!! It is making me crazy! How awesome to have a cleaned out closet. We seem to be collecting even more junk as my ILs keep cleaning out Gary's uncle's condo.
So happy that your Mother's day was very nice!
Trudy- how exciting to have more paintings out there and business cards-- :cheer2: July 13 is in less than 2 months! I can't imagine how happy you must be!!!
Better get ready for my day too. Hugs!!

Morning, gals. Slept in a bit this morning. Only have a short time to grab a shower and dress before heading out the door. Have my Red Hat lunch to go to and it is across town.

The yard man was an hour late yesterday- but he called to let me know. Showed him what I needed to have done and got a quote. He said the biggest part was taking the tree out in the front yard as that would require digging a big hole to make sure they get all the roots. They will be here Saturday morning early to get started. He also said he had a trailer so he would pick up the Raywood Ash tree for me. So, I had to make a quick trip over to the nursery to pick it out and pay for it yesterday afternoon. Good thing he is going to get it as it turned out to be about 12' tall!!! They will also be taking out a dead cherry tree and another cherry tree that is dying. I have some potted shrubs that will be put in those places. I need to take some before photos of what will be removed then hopefully will remember to get some after ones. They will also pull all the weeds and treat it so they shouldn't come back. Plus trim bushes, clean out dead/dying stuff and check the drip system/replace drip heads where needed. I need to get some small perennials for a few of my pots - have 5 in the front and 2 in the back that are empty. So glad he is able to get this done before the HOA sends me a violation notice about the weeds.

Due to all that it was after 3 PM by the time I got finished at the nursery so I didn't get to the base for my meds and grocery shopping. I hope to do that this afternoon after the Red Hat lunch since it is only about 5 more miles over to the base. I decided to get my haircut done on the way home from the nursery. It looks so much better now so glad I was able to fit that stop in.

I am feeling somewhat better today. I know being with the RH gals will help. DD#1 and granddaughter sent some photos of the niece's wedding. It helped to see them. They plan on visiting the Alamo and a few other places before heading home.

Chris, I can understand being cranky and out-of-sorts. Some days are like that from the time you wake up. Hope the weather warms up a bit so you can get outside again. <<< hugs >>> We got up to 80 degrees yesterday so hopefully it will warm up there in a couple of days.

Morning ladies... It is a :rain: day today, but we sure do need it! Yesterday I got so much done and now all of my paintings are ready to go to the gallery. The hardest part is trying to decide on pricing. I am not good at that! Hopefully the gallery owner can give me some help with that. I ended up applying a coat of resin to a couple of pieces and they turned out so good! One has a bit of a flaw in it, but the other turned out perfectly. I will see if the gallery wants to still show the one with the flaw or not. Other than getting all my paintings to the gallery, I will be going to the pool this morning and hopefully it will be nice and quiet there. I hope to get back into scrapping a bit more and catching up on my CheeryO duties. I have been a very bad and absent CheeryO lately. I am happy that I do not have to fly out to Ontario at all this summer!! Our son and DIL will be flying with Heather and the boys out here to B.C. and Jonah, (Heather's spouse) will be coming out later to bring her and the boys back to Ontario. I am so happy that they will all be out here for a while! Isaac and Sadie will already be out here when their Mom and Dad arrive with Heather and boys. They will be visiting with their other Grandparents while Jason and Jackie get the new house all set up in Ottawa, hopefully all goes according to plan and the flights go smoothly! So soon I will have to get my house ready for everyone, that means cleaning up my Craft room and putting away all my expensive paints. I did tell Sadie and Isaac that I would show them how to do the painting techniques I use though so I guess I will have to keep the supplies handy. Sadie would paint for hours on end so I better go to the craft store and stock up on some canvases!! Sure hope we have nice summer weather and we can get to the lake while everyone is here!

Chris - I am sad for you that you are not feeling very happy these days! It is totally understandable, when the weather isn't cooperating with your plans! It should be a lovely time of year for you to get outside and do some gardening. So come on Mother Nature, bring on the warmer temps and sunshine would ya!!! :rollpin: Lucky Caitlyn going on a cruise!! So happy for her, but I get it that you might feel a bit jealous! I wish that you could go along with her! Please wish the kids good luck with their finals, I am sure they will do well though! Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for you in the coming days!

Kay - Wow that is a lot of work that you are getting done in your yard! It will look so great when it is completed! Glad to hear that you are feeling better today and I hope that you have a fabulous time with your RH ladies!! How nice to treat yourself to a haircut also! Hope that you make it to the base to purchase your meds etc.

Nancy - Will you be cheering for the Bruins again tonight? Wonder what antics Mr. Marchand will pull tonight LOL. How nice that you got your closet all cleaned out, now you have room for more things :becky: Hope your weather is nice enough for you to get out for a good walk with Luther this morning!

On my second cup of coffee already and now it is time to get my swim back packed and ready to go. If I have time afterwards I will pop in and catch up with everyone else. Have a great day ladies!!

good day - I have been busy this am. Up early for a dentist teeth cleaning - then off to have my legs waxed hoping that eventually it will be warm in NJ. It is cloudy and misty and it is supposed to rain even more tonight. I am so tired of this weather. Now I am back and will eat lunch. Got more scrapping done and that is fun. Yesterday the US defeated Finland in OT but the exciting game was Canada and Slovakia where Canada score with 1.8 seconds left in the game for a 5-4 win. Then the Blues won so that series is tied 1-1. Hockey is so fun! I know I will soon be in withdrawal.

Chris so sorry but I totally understand the weather getting you down. It is the pits. That is so awesome that Cait is going on a cruise! But I would be jealous too! At least she knows that the rats will be taken care of while she is gone. And I still Sept is the best month at the shore. Water is warmer and school is back in session. Maybe do it early in the month. NJ usually has better falls than we do springs.

Kay it is so fun to have your hair cut and restyled. Have fun at your luncheon. Sounds like you have found your yard guy! congrats! Sounds like it will look lovely when done.

Trudy I heard yesterday that the team that goes up 2-0 in the conference final has around a 93% chance of going on. I am cheering for Johansson! And I was shocked in the last game when it was Marchand who dragged the Boston player out of the scrum. Have fun with the grandkids and kids this summer. You and they will have a blast and you will be so tired but a good tired. Have fun hanging the paintings at the gallery! And no walk with Luther as it is such rainy weather.

Have a great day all!

Yesterday was quite a day for me. Sunday my Surface Pro 3, at nearly 5 years of use, gave up again, maybe dead for good this time. So I celebrated my birthday at the MicroSoft store buying a new Surface Pro 6. Found out all the peripherals like keyboard, stylus and case work/fit with the new one. It is a big price, but I get exactly what I want and need. So then I spent afternoon and evening reinstalling programs and doing settings. Still have more to go. I did a new post to the blog though the drawing isn't quite what I wanted.

Chris, thanks for looking at and commenting on my earlier drawing. That one was fun. And thanks for your comment on my writing. That is where I tend to struggle, so really appreciate it. Sorry the weather is keeping your spirits low, but maybe by the weekend it will be a little better? Seems like there is at least some chance of rain every day here, some days lots of it.

Kay, hope you're having a great time with the RH lunch and get to the base for meds and groceries. Nice to get the haircut in after the nursery. The new tree will look great since it's already that tall. And finally getting someone for the yard work must feel good too.

Trudy, thinking of you at the gallery today. Let us know what kind of guidance they gave on pricing. That is always a bear and needs to include their commission pushing it up. Hope you get photos of how they look in the gallery. That will be so much easier not flying to Ontario at all this summer but still having everyone to visit. What fun to be able to paint with Sadie.

Nancy, I'm enjoying your latest travel pages and was interested in how different that Yellowstone pair looks with the yellow backgrounds. Quite stunning!

Wishing us all better weather!
