Please, please, please let my dad's surgery go smoothly today so my parents will stop bickering over everything. I talked to them both several times over the last few days and hoo boy, they don't handle stress well. My mom's default is to boss him around and tell him everything that he is doing wrong and his default is to ignore her. Which makes her bossier and him ignore-ier.

Caitlyn and I have a problem. We have had it for a while. Once we get started on a puzzle, we can't stop. We finished a really difficult, 1000 piece puzzle in two days. We did this one last year but thankfully, we will do them over and over;
This is the one:

We took the babies to the vet and Evie has another surgery scheduled for May 21. She asked him why the lipoma came back- he shrugged and said "She is a rat. Rats grow things." LOL Everyone else is doing fine. It was really nice to hang with Cait again, it had been weeks since she has spent any time out of her room. She is off to meet Tom, the new BF, this morning. He works two jobs so scheduling was tough for them. He will be fully vax's in 2 weeks so they still meet outside. She got invited to his sister's graduation party and now she is freaked out about meeting everyone.

My computer was supposed to be here yesterday according to FedEx so I worked on food shopping and cards in case I couldn't get online today but it hasn't shown up yet. It wasn't even in NJ yesterday so I couldn't see that happening but it is on the truck today. *fingers crossed that the transfer/setup goes easy!* If for some reason I am not here tomorrow, go ahead and open this up. :)

It is dry outside but still so cold but I think I am heading to the nursery to get my plants and pop them into the little greenhouse. My milkweed seeds should be ready to get in the ground so that is also on my list. I wish it would get warm though, these temps are BS.

HAGD!! xoxo

@tanteva I feel your pain and aggravation at the weather. That is where we have been too- low 40s overnight and mid-upper 50*s during the day. haha! I would have said the same thing to Gary if he asked me something like that-- how should I know how the tree removal is going? Good for you on losing a few more pounds! I am stuck at my lockdown weight. I thought that it would drop a bit once I got more active but I suppose that the funnel cake Caitlyn made Gary for his b-day and the brownies she made for Mother's Day is counteracting that. I am blaming it all on her. *nods* Cait LOVES her fake bacon. It smells really good when she cooks it.

Kay- So sorry that it is still too cold overnight for you to put away the comforter, but better to have it on than freeze all night if you did pack it up. Wonderful that you got to see your G-GDS- he sounds like a very active little guy! I love that age. How sweet of your DD to send flowers, hope you can share a picture with us!

@Kythe did we miss your birthday yesterday???? Happy Birthday!!! You and DH make a great team, taking photos and then you using them for designing. So exciting!

@Cherylndesigns The tiered garden seems like it is working out and getting filled up. That is also very exciting.
Plants can be so expensive but that is the best thing about perennials is that they come back and grow and spread. Years ago, Gary cut down my rhododendron without my knowledge (or permission, boy, was I fuming!) I couldn't stop yelling at him, do you know how much that was "worth????" Not that I would have sold it but if it didn't come back, how much it would cost to replace it? Gah! He had cut it to the stump.   (It still gets me salty, in case you couldn't;t tell) It did come back and is now about 6' tall, maybe more. If you get something like forsythia, it will spread and you can cut branches and start new bushes. I took three cuttings a few weeks ago and they are already growing like mad.
Ticks are so *&@#$!^%^@!!!!!!!!! They get worse every year. My dogs get the chewable tick meds and they are both due for the Lyme vax booster soon. They have better options than people do, preventative and treatment of Lyme Disease.

@nancyr Welcome back! I forgot that you had the trip planned this early in May, what a great time! Was it weird flying out there? The photos and weather must have been perfect! It is too darn cold here. Looking forward to seeing the trip in your Gallery!

@bcgal00 Thank you for not being upset by all of my nosy questions, I am just so excited and happy for you that you got to see B. Remi must have been so cute when she saw her too, but she has a very wiggly puppy body. I am sure that your pics while holding a puppy on a leash are better than all of mine using two hands LOL I am so glad that she liked the stickers! No difference if she remembers us or not, I am thrilled that she enjoyed them in the moment and I know Caitlyn will love hearing that too.

I've tried something new today .... I showered in hot water! :D I've had some bad luck lately - the heater is acting up when it's not really cold and not yet hot outside. Poor thing gets confused and the last few times showering I've been only getting cold water. You have no idea how fast one can shower at times. But today, with hot water, my hair even got conditioner. I'm so happy!

Other than that I'm working on a layout. Found a challenge at Just Art about altering a photo. Been working for hours and maybe I soon will have something to show for it. Been doing things I had forgotten I could. But it's fun! Almost as fun as I don't care if the layout turns out fine.

I really like to scrap from challenges. I like to work from rules ... so I can tweek them ;)

Cold and rainy today as well, but MAYBE we will get sunshine and warmer weather tomorrow. If so, I'm going for a walk with my camera. Been ages since I was photographing properly. I want some nice nature photos. Maybe I can find some budding spring?

There was something else I meant to say ... but this brain has forgotten what. I'll be back if I can remember it.

Oh and @Kythe Happy Belated birthday!

& fingers crossed for Daddy Faerywings

good morning - my youngest son and his fiancé came down and took me and my DH out for dinner. It was at a Mexican restaurant and even though I had been eating that in AZ, it does not matter as the food is delish. Came home and watched the last Devils game of the season. It was against the Flyers and they lost 4-2. My team was one of the youngest in the league and I can only hope that next year is better. Started looking at my photos and still waiting for others to send me some. I was waiting for a technician to come and try to fix my oven and of course he does not show up. Well I get a text saying he tried to call and I did not answer. I called their service and explained that look people with all the scams around I do not answer unknown phone calls. So they will try again on Thursday. I mean they should have the company named on the phone if they want people to answer. Or it could be me LOL as one who does not answer the phone. Today at least is sunny but very windy. I really need warmer temps.

@faerywings Chris I will be thinking positive for your dad today. I am sure it is hard for you with both parents. Glad that for the most part rats are doing well. Enjoy time in the yard. Impressed how fast you are at puzzles.

@tanteva Eva I totally agree this spring the temps and weather suck. I hope the rain stops for you soon. Have fun with the scrapping challenges.

@BrightEyes Kay hope you were warmer. We saw lots of hot air balloons in Sedona. Are you having your balloon festival this year. They are so pretty in the sky.

@Kythe happy belated birthday. Even though I read that yesterday I spaced. Hope you got fantastic photos.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl have fun with your gardening.

Have a great day!

Yesterday was fun and thanks for the birthday wishes. We are a pretty low key couple so the day was quiet. I got a good few photos that I will be able to use and a BBQ rib dinner so I fared rather well.

Good morning all,

Another dreary day, but it is 61, so that's not bad. It should warm up decently this afternoon. Daisy and I can take our walk. Settling in nicely with the new cat. If only Daisy would stay out of his face, he'd be fine. He's really a great cat! He's settling right into our "flow" here. He sat on Chuck's lap while we watched TV last night. We've only had 3 cats, but they all loved him. He didn't like cats at all until the first one. She (the kids named her Golden Star LOL) adopted us. She had her babies in our garage, behind the freezer. We said either the mother could stay or one of the kittens. The kids voted to keep Mom. Of course, Chuck was her favorite person. Haha

Chris @faerywings hope your computer comes today, and I'm sending good vibes to your dad (and all of you). I'm sure things will settle down once he's on the mend. Is the surgery going to take a lengthy recovery and rehab?

I chuckled over the vet saying "well, she IS a rat". ROTF

Eva @tanteva yay for hot showers! I've heard people say that they took cold showers because they liked them. HOW can that be? I can't imagine! Haha - you even got your hair conditioned. Oh happy day.

SO happy that you're finding your way around PSE again. Sounds like you're having fun. I taught myself PSE by watching YouTube Videos. I still forget simple things and have to look them up. For instance, the tool bar - on the left side of the screen - disappeared the other night. I could NOT remember how to get it back. Doink! Easy Peasy. Rick Peterson is my go-to guy on PSE. He's so easy to understand.

Nancy @nancyr sounds like you all had a lovely evening - I'm not fond of Mexican food, just VERY bland cheese fajitas but my family would eat that food 7 days a week. There are 2 Mexican restaurants here in our little town.

My little tiered garden is looking very cute. Now that the grands have added theirs, we all go out and look at it whenever they come over. Braden is really into it. We tied their tomato plant to a stake last night because it's very tall already. He loved helping.

The Hummingbirds are still humming - they drink that "food" pretty fast. Kitty's favorite place to sit is on the table in front of the window so he can watch them.

Kythe @Kythe happy belated birthday. Low key is how I roll, too. Glad you had a nice day.
