15 Days until it is official!
Until then, I am going to have to keep myself from complaining that is it extremely cold again here. It was 67* here around dinner time then a cold front blew in and that changed it all. Freezing and windy and yuck. Caitlyn had to drive home from school in the storms and said that it was so bad that she couldn't see the road. Then, a tree branch crashed down in front of her car and almost hit her. This morning it is back in the 30s. Yesterday was such a tease :(

I am not in a good mood, had unsettling dreams, woke up cold and cranky. I tried the trick that I used with Cait when she was very young and woke up in a bad mood. -- go back to bed, pretend to go back to sleep, wake up and restart the morning. Did not work.
The good news is that I meeting my BFF for coffee this morning and I am looking fwd to catching up with her, I haven't seen her in months.

Hugs!!

@taxed4ever How wonderful to have grass to cut LOL I have mud. Sorry (not sorry LOL) to hear that you are dealing with pollen. I am actually sorry, pollen is a PITA especially when you are trying to breathe. Sound like the weekend was lovely and that makes me happy. How was the hike yesterday?
Scott was out and about yesterday to- he had another sap tapping session at Weis and then hiked afterward for a while. I am soo happy that he gets to work and play in the same places :D

@bcgal00 Sounds like you are on track with the packing, so funny to be finding things from the 80s. The house sounds absolutely gorgeous and I love the colors you are picking out to go with everything. Have fun shopping!

@Lynn Grieveson how did the real estate agent meet-up go? *fingers crossed for you*
Do you and Rachel do a lot of collabs together?

@Cherylndesigns What a cute vest!! I bet you look perfect in the one you have. Have Ava take a picture next time you are together.
Scattergories is such a fun game! We all judge and cajole when we play, for ourselves and each other. Caitlyn will never forgive us for not giving her Squoven (for S and Things in a Kitchen) which is a Squirrel Oven. Since we thumbs-downed that, she has created an entire language for squirrels. (Squanguage, if you will).
If we play that combo again, we are going to have to give her points for Squoven. :p

@BrightEyes Have a wonderful time with your Red Hat gals!

@tanteva Big hugs and feel better! -- please let us know what the Dr says xoxo

@LSlycord Great news about work and good, calm vibes for Decker. And "protect your heart vibes" to you and Shaun.

@Rachel Jefferies I hear ya about the cold and wind! Wish I had a choc croissant and coffee to cheer me up LOL Hope it is warmer today!
Yes @faerywings I think partner in crime would be a good description for @Lynn Grieveson but does that mean that I'm a naughty girl?
I think that goes without saying *wink*

xoxo

Up early... and have a few minutes to spend in here. I made the chef salad last evening so have a bit more time to play this morning. The price of lettuce at the base was reasonable so grabbed a head. Been without lettuce for over a month so was happy to get it. Made the salad with lettuce, celery, red bell peppers, raisins, dried cranberries, honey coated peanuts, cheddar cheese, Pepper jack cheese, ham, and hard boiled eggs. Taking a Ranch dressing to add before eating and Ritz crackers. Yummy!! Ended up with enough of veggies to have another meal tomorrow.

Woke up to see snow on the roof, grass and other shrubs - 26*!!! Just enough to make the roads icy! Yes, the cold front came in yesterday afternoon with a cold wind and snow in the mountains. Hopefully it will warm enough before we leave for the luncheon.

@faerywings I saw that your area was getting another taste of Winter again. Along with other areas of the US. Glad Scott is enjoying his work/play area... but that would be too cold for me to be outside. Wow... that was a close call for Cait. Glad the branch didn't hit her car!!

@Lynn Grieveson and @Rachel Jefferies - it is so neat to have you gals chatting with us. Lynn... you are going to be moving?? Hope that all goes well with the sale and buying your new house. Rachel... love seeing a glimpse into your family in your LOs. The kids are adorable.

@Cherylndesigns I love that vest... bet yours is just as striking!!! I bought a leather jacket (in pale purple) that has the cut fringe down the front edges. Yes, I love the western style, too. Here is a picture of the jacket - taken back in 2019. You can't see them, but I was wearing my western cowboy boots, too. I also designed and made the necklace I was wearing.

IMG_1556 small.jpg

@bcgal00 Glad to hear you are not picking up heavy boxes... and giving your back a rest, too. Yes, it is always a challenge to purge stuff when getting ready for a move. Glad you got a better price from another moving company. Think it is smart to wait a bit longer before ordering the furniture for the new house. Can't wait to see the photos once your are moved and settled.

@tanteva Yes, it is time to see a doctor and find out what is going on... you have been sick too long now. <<<hugs>>>

The house is finally warm enough to take my shower. CYL

Yesterday afternoon's hike was very nice! My friend Corrine picked me up and we hiked Stoney Hill a lovely spot with wonderful views and the sun even came out for us while we were there. Screen Shot 2022-03-08 at 8.15.29 AM copy.jpg I know that @bcgal00 said that they were getting rain, so it was crazy that we had such a nice day. Funny how the weather is so different, we are really not that far away from one another. Today is a quiet day with not much to do, so I hope to get another layout started and perhaps spend some time making a card or two. It is rainy today, so its a good day just to stay inside and putter around.

@faerywings - Chris I am so sorry that the weather has turned crappy again for you! Poor Caitlyn that must have scared the you know what out of her!! Its no fun when you can't tell where the road in front of you is!! Thankfully the branch did not land right on the car! Enjoy your coffee with your friend! I hope that she is able to put you in a better mood!

@BrightEyes - Well don't you just look amazing in your pale purple leather jacket!! That colour really brings out your beautiful eyes!! Lookin good girl!!! Yikes that is a long time to be without lettuce!! Your chefs salad sounds amazingly delicious!! I love a good chefs salad!

@tanteva - Yes you have been sick for far too long! It is time to see the doctor! Hope he is able to give you something to speed up your recovery!! Take care of you!!

@bcgal00 - It sounds like you are doing some great shopping and your colour scheme sounds so lovely! I also cannot wait to see the new home when you are all settled in!

@Lynn Grieveson - Hope the meeting with the real estate agent went well! Where are you planning on moving too??

@Cherylndesigns - That vest is so cute!! I bet you look great in yours too! Yes our weather has been great as of late, but sadly rainy today.

@LSlycord - Ugh on the pollen on the pool, such a pain to clean all that up, just to have to deal with it again the next day! Nice that you are settling into your new job, so nice when you enjoy the work and the people that you work with!

@Rachel Jefferies - brrrr!! Sounds really cold there! You are a busy Mom! Hope you enjoyed your coffee and croissant! Nice to see you here in the Daily O's !

Ok Heather is calling me on Face Time so I gotta run! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. I slacked off a bit yesterday which was good for my back. I packed a few boxes but spent more time relaxing and hanging out with the dogs. D and I caught up on Blacklist last night, binging the most recent 4 episodes. Today Jen is coming with Bella around lunchtime so I'll pack until she gets here. I want to get lots done today b/c I'm taking tomorrow off to go to Reifel (my last trip there). I will miss the plentitude of birds in one area, the sanctuary is such a peaceful fun walk but I will enjoy the magnitude of hiking trails in Kamloops and will get more interesting landscape photos with wildlife and birds here and there, just more spread out.

@faerywings Enjoy the visit with your BFF and hope that lightens your mood.

@BrightEyes The salad sounds yummy!

@Lynn Grieveson Did you meet with the realtor? Hope it went well.

I'm getting another coffee, have to get something out of the freezer for D's dinner (trying to use up freezer stuff so I don't have to pack it to bring with us). Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all!

Cold here again - 39 right now, but it's supposed to warm up a little bit each day and be back up in the 70's next week.

Chris @faerywings, I'm sorry you woke up cold and cranky. This weather is about over, don't you think??? I LOVE your pictures for today! I'll have ava take a picture of me next time she's over. Mine's a little "furrier" than the picture - I couldn't find my exact one. It's nice though, because it's warm.

I can just see your crazy family (like our crazy family) playing Scattegories. We're all so competitive and with Chuck as the judge, the crazy stuff doesn't slip by. He wouldn't allow Cait's word. BWAHAHA He takes his judge job seriously. We get the biggest kick out of his rulings. Ava comes up with some good ones, too (of course she does - she's just like Cait). "Something in the sky that starts with "P" - she says "Big Pharm"! Chuck just looked at her and said "I don't think so". Then she says, people in planes have pharmaceuticals in their carry-ons. It's crazy! He asked her why she didn't just say "planes".

Kay @BrightEyes I LOVE your jacket!!! We have the same style, that's for sure and I can just see you styling your boots. I love the necklace you have on, too. I'm looking for a suede jacket like yours with fringe all over it. If you want to look at some cool Western wear - look at Powder River Outfitters - that's the tag that was on my vest, but I couldn't find mine on the website.

I'm going to sign off and get some things done before Adrienne gets here. The mobile groomer is coming this afternoon too, so we'll have clean dogs. I don't want ANY hair cut on Daisy - just bathed, brushed and toenails clipped.

Hugs to all.

@taxed4ever We cross posted....good morning! Glad you had good weather yesterday. We got a bit of rain but not too much, just enough to get everything misty.

@BrightEyes Love that you design your own jewellery!

Sorry too about the cold lingering for you guys! I swear the seasons have shifted. Now it feels like summer here really only gets going once the school break is over at the start of Feb. It's now autumn here in New Zealand but still hopefully some good weather to come.

The meeting with the agent went well, and I enjoyed dealing with him. He's all about the design and presentation and has a nice manner so all good (hopefully!). The market is CRAZY here, but my house is very cute so he is hopeful it will sell quickly. I don't live in it anymore (moved into a downtown apartment after the 'great life implosion of 2019'... enough said!).

@faerywings Hope the coffee with the BFF was fun

Well, my day ended up changing... got a call from Son-in-law #1 just after 10AM. He was in Santa Fe but his eye screenings work there got cancelled for the day due to the snow. So he called to see if I was up for a visit! Oh, YES!!! haven't seen him for several months - so told him to come on down (just about an hour's drive). I cancelled out on the RH lunch as I told the gal who was going to give me a ride there... "family comes first". She certainly understood. It was so wonderful to see him and get caught up on news of the family. He had a couple more visits to make here before heading back to Santa Fe this evening. He has another day of screenings to do there before flying home tomorrow. He and DD#1 will be here the end of the month for his continuing ed hours so will more time to see him again soon. I know that DD#1, DD#3 and I will have plenty to talk about all weekend! :D I did enjoy my chefs salad for lunch even if I ate it by myself. His visit lifted my spirits so much!!!

@BrightEyes Love that you design your own jewellery!
Yes, I create jewelry to wear with a lot of the clothing I made for myself. I have lots of beads and other jewelry-supplies so can usually find colors and styles of items to make unique jewelry that compliments the clothes and/or costumes I make.

@tanteva - Sounds like you really need to be seen by a Dr... SOON!

@Cherylndesigns I have more than enough 'western' style clothes in my closet along with several pairs of cowboy boots! Don't need to be tempted to add more to my wardrobe!!! LOL DH talked me into my favorite Tony Lama boots many years ago and they still look and feel as good as new... and I had added a few more pairs over the years. I also have several 'western' outfits in purple and red for my Red Hatting outings/conventions. Plus others in various colors. One of my favorites is a long ankle length flared blue denim skirt with snaps up the front along with a western shirt or tee and concho belt. It is much cooler to wear in the summer than pants. And, yes.... I do have a few western style hats. Not that I dress in 'western' style all the time... as I love several different clothing styles and wear them as the occasion calls for them. Do I dare mention that I have some cut fringe in leather strips that I bought when a western clothing manufacture was closing their plant here. Can't remember what colors I have... as it was a few years ago. I also picked up some unique fabrics, trims and buttons from them. Their clothing was sold in very-upscale western stores in Santa Fe and some Texas stores. It was nice I could make my own creations that looked very-upscale and $$$! Maybe I should take another look in those fabric bins . . . who knows if Covid dies down I may be going out and about more. hahahaha

I'd love to raid your wardrobe - I usually just wear blue jeans and love slightly flared jeans. I remember when you showed me a picture of your Tony Llama boots!! They're SO beautiful - wish I could still wear mine - I had 2 pairs that DH bought me in Texas. Over the years, my feet have gone from a 7 1/2 to a 9!!! That long skirt sounds awesome - I need to add a skirt or two to my wardrobe. I love the pearl covered studs in place of buttons and have some cool plaid western shirts - they're SO easy to open and close. I got DH a snap front shirt and now that's all he wants. Haha Ohhhhhh, I'd love to find some cut fringe like you have!

I'm SURE that living in NM really brings out your western side. Not too much of that in Florida, but I feel right at home in it here in OK. That local dept store I mentioned really caters to the western look - they have all the cool belt buckles and all kinds of western jewelry. They told me that they can hardly keep the pearl snap shirts in stock - I went in looking for DH more shirts. She said all the "cowboys" buy those up the minute they come in. Do you work in turquoise? I LOVE turquoise and coral!

Good news about getting to see your SIL!

Good evening ladies. Spring is really coming!!! Yippee. Just the very short detour this weekend for the cold weather Saturday night! Then we are really into spring and the daylight will last in the evening. I hate to spring forward because I hate to lose an hour. And I will be sad about losing daylight in the morning. But, it will be so good to have longer days!

We picked up Decker at noon and he was so happy to get home. Amazing because the dogs all got along just fine....they acted like they hadn't missed a beat. They were all happy to see each other. Decker came in and found the toy basket...got one of the toys, climbed up on the sofa and took a nap. LOL

@faerywings I hope that coffee with your BFF turned your day around!

@BrightEyes I'm so glad that you had fun with your SIL. You are right....nothing is like family! And you look great in that purple jacket.

@taxed4ever I am so jealous of you and your friend taking a hike. That sounds like such a great day. Wish that all of us O ladies could head out to take a hike together. Pretty sure that all of our moods would be lifted.

@Cherylndesigns I love that you have a mobile groomer. I would so love that. But I haven't found one that is willing to work with dogs the size of ours.

@tanteva I sure hope that the rest helped and that you can talk to the doctor tomorrow.

@bcgal00 just day by day you get closer! Very impressive.

@Lynn Grieveson that is the perfect way to sell a home when you have already re-located.

Ok, I'm off to bed early tonight. But might swing through the gallery first for a few minutes.
