helloooooO, O-Fam!I hope that you are all doing wonderful on this fine morning!!
(Is that too much? I think it might be too much......)

I am in a pretty decent mood, it's just that I am disgusted and sad again over the news. And angry- school shootings *always* make me angry. So like every other instance we've had in the past [insert time frame of your choice: week/month/year], I'll go through the same routine. Heartbreak/anger/stuff it all down. Lather rinse repeat. And repeat. Annnd repeat.

The day had started really well too. I did a fantastic, energizing yoga routine. The kitchen was cleaned up, I knew what I was making for dinner. The grocery order was complete. it was still sunny so I decided that I was going to take J over to the park for a walk. I asked Gary if he was up to come with me so W could go too and he was! (Backstory is that J doesn't like to walk on our street. Refuses to go past certain points. I think it is from when she had knee surgery as a puppy and we had to walk several times a day, back and forth while she was healing. She doesn't like to go past the mailboxes where I would turn around). We walked them around the ballfields. We went to the trailhead to see which trail was marked from there. Gary wanted to keep hiking but we weren't ticked-sprayed and ticks *love* him. He can walk to the mailbox and find ticks on him. And I am *not* taking any chances of getting a new bite. No way.

I spent a little time looking for a new crochet pattern. I had gotten a bamboo yarn a few years ago. It's super fine and hard to work with so I didn't want anything complicated. I took Vicky's idea and went with 2 strands and the same pattern I used with the wool scarf I just finished. Since the yarn is soft and almost slippery, it's will have a completely different look and drape than the wool. And 100% piece of cake to do. That's what I need. :D
I also made a new siggie, it still needs a little bit of adjustment, it's too big. Cheryl thanks for the Standing O for it too :blowkiss:

TfT - Tip for Tuesday- Any tips you wish to share. How to do something in Photoshop, a great recipe, how to soothe an upset child etc. It could also be a tip request. Do need advice on how to do something?

What is your TfT?
I always have things rolling around in my head during the week, and then I can't remember them on the day. My tip is to write them down in my planner so I won't forget

@faerywings I love your new avi!!! I mean, for real...I love it!!

Yesterday was messed up because I started the day with a doctor's appointment. My shoulder has bothered me since Andie dragged me into the car grill at the groomer. I can't sleep on that side at all any more. Sometimes, it is hard for me to lift a 9x13 dish because that side hurts so much. And then sometimes it hurts down to the elbow and feels like I have a stinger shooting down into my left hand. I finally went to the doctor yesterday (took forever to get in) and she is sending me to PT. So that was good news. With the warm weather, it doesn't seem to hurt as much but is that my imagination? Maybe. Anyway...

Not much going on. No time for anything to go on besides work. ;) And of course #sleeping. Have a good day ladies.

Since we took the dogs for a walk yesterday, I pushed the treat-making until today. That takes a lot of time. it's super easy but time-consuming. My big plans for today haha!

@Su_Sanne That is the truth, time keeps flying by. Does anyone have a tip to make it slow down? Just a little bit?
I am a chatterbox. When I was in Elementary school, I had a substitute teacher call me Machine Gun because I never shut up. I can't tell you how many times my desk was moved into the hall.
Snow and thunder are very strange weather. I wish I had a good plot of yard for a nice garden. Our soil is very rocky and the pH is bad for growing vegetables. I do a few plants in pots and a raised bed but most of my "gardens" are little patches of dirt that I've cleared and put in perennials. You have probably seen some photos as you have been looking through my gallery.
Just be careful walking without your crutches, please

@bcgal00 We have The Last of Us on our To-Watch list but haven't started it yet. I keep hearing that it is really good!
Poor Jen, I hope that the night sweats don't last long. My friend was telling me about some blankets that keep you cool and helps with night sweats. She didn't know the name and neither of us could figure out how it works but next time I see her, I'll ask about it.
You are such a good mom leaving her ice packs ♥
Ooooh boy, you are going to have a SUPER-Velcro dog when you get back from the cruise. :runningdog:
Thank you so much for suggesting my gallery to SuSanne :heartpumplove:. It's very special coming from you since you are an outstanding scrapper.

@taxed4ever Congrats on the kayak!! #cheer-3
That's so cute that you and Linda have the same one. Caitlyn used some waterproof vinyl to make stickers for our car wonders (I have J and she has a rat) and they have stayed on for well over a year, maybe two? Has to be at least two since she always told the vet that her car was the one with the rat sticker when we had to do curbside during Covid. Talk about time flying!
I love that you will add stickers to your so you can tell them apart. I am really excited for you!!
Some of the vegan foods these days are amazing- the Beyond Burgers really taste and feel like ground beef.

@Nonni F Both knees??? ugh........... I hope that the shots work. Is it that jelly/lubricating stuff? That helped my dad's shoulder for a little while until it didn't. Good vibes coming your way :sparkles1:
That is your first LO?? NO way!!! It's amazing!! I'd be proud to create something like that after all of the years I have been scrapping. TFS!
But-- I am trying very hard to not LMBO that you deleted the layers instead of moving them. I am positive that I did stuff like that too, only blocked it from my memory. Or plain ol' forgot. That's a strong possibility. :nod1:
Nooo!!!!!! No bubble bath, no caffeine or wine??? That's AWFUL!!! *sobs*

hugs to you all!

Good morning ladies. I let the dogs out when I got up and poked my head around the side of the house to see our flicker. He has decided to do his mating drumming on the side our house. It is really loud. I hope he finds a mate soon. He starts drumming around 4:30 am. Today I see the eye specialist to check out the thinning and something else with my eyes. I forget exactly what is going on. I may need drops, according to the optometrist I first saw. But by catching these problems now, hopefully it won't ever progress to the point of needing surgery.

We heard back from the landscape company about the yard. It is a crazy amount of money, over $30,000. Yikes. There goes my RRSP. But we need a new retaining wall for the back of the yard and new fencing plus we want to extend the patio out further. I hope that will be the last big bill we have here. I would never have thought it would cost so much. Thank goodness for D encouraging me to get RRSPs years ago (and for himself) so it give us this little nest egg for emergencies.

@faerywings Love the new siggy. I will look into the cooling blankets for Jen.

@taxed4ever You will have fun with your kayak. I wish my back could handle it, I would love to go out with a friend who has one and goes to the most beautiful spots that we can't get to by car or foot.

I need more coffee and will get outside with Remi. It's still chilly (30F) but feels warmer b/c of the intense sunshine. HAGD everyone.

Morning ladies... I slept like the dead last night and did not wake up until 7:15am. That never happens!! So now I will be going to the pool a bit later in the day instead of very early like I wanted to. That's ok I can go whenever, thats the beauty of being retired, right?! It looks to be a beautiful sunny day and tomorrow is looking great too. Our hike tomorrow is to Christie Falls, we have done it a few times, but it is a beautiful hike and what better place to be for lunch than sitting beside a gorgeous waterfall? I had fun making a couple of decals for my kayak and today I hope to get the name of my boat done down the side of it. I am going to call it "My Buoy Toy" :giggle4: I look forward to many hours of paddling this spring/summer and fall! We have plans on taking the Kayaks up to MIL and FIL's so we can explore the crystal clear waters of the Cowichan Lake. Our little lake down at the bottom of our hill gets an algae bloom in the summer, so it might not be so great to go out on the Lake at the end of August. Lots of talk about making this lake healthier for the Canada Rowing Club, they are out on the Lake almost everyday. I will keep my fingers crossed that it happens!

@faerywings - Wow I just love your new Siggie!! I really need to change mine as it is not Winter anymore, thank goodness!! Perhaps I will work on doing that today. Yes I was sad to hear of yet another shooting in the States!! A woman this time? That is very unusual. Those poor families, my heart breaks for them! Sometimes I think that I should never listen to any news, it is just to depressing! Why can't they show more of the good news and make things a bit more uplifting for everyone? That is cute that you and Caitlyn had waterproof decals of your pets on your cars! I used Oracal 651 vinyl for the kayak and it is supposed to be waterproof, we will see. How great that you and your Gary got out for a walk yesterday! Hopefully next time you can go on the trail and be ready for those dam ticks!! I have to remember to wear a hat and tuck my pant legs into my socks from now on because of those ugly buggers! I hate them! They really don't seem to like me, but there are a few on our hikes that always find one or two of them on their bodies. Yuck!! Enjoy working on your new crochet project!

@LSlycord - That is too bad that your day was so messed up yesterday! Ouch your poor arm!! Glad you finally got to see the doctor about it and hopefully the PT will help you out! Your job sounds like it keeps you very busy, but it also sounds like you are enjoying it, so that is great!

@bcgal00 - I wish you could join me for a day in the Kayak! Yes it gets you places that others don't get to see thats for sure! Ohh that darn woodpecker, waking you up so early in the morning!! Hope he finds a mate very soon! Today would be good right?!! Nice to hear that the sun is shining in your neck of the woods too! Yes the temps sure drop when the skies are clear, but soon you will be in the intense dry heat. Ugh on the expense of the retaining wall, but so good that you have the RRSP's to help you out! It is always a bummer that they take so much when you cash them in though! That's why my user name is taxed4ever, seems we just can't avoid that darn taxman!! Hope you and Remi have a good time feeding the birds this morning!

Well I better get going to the pool, will txt Heather to say that I will talk to her a bit later today. She was having trouble with her dryer yesterday, so sure hope it hasn't bit the dust!! Guess I will find out later! Have a great day everyone! :waving1

@faerywings love that Gary felt well enough to walk the dogs with you! What a treat that was.

@bcgal00 wow that's a hefty cost for the retaining wall...but, you've got to do what you've got to do! Love that your flicker is visting you each morning...don't love that it is closer to the middle of the night! What is the countdown...two weeks to your cruise?

@taxed4ever we have had enough warm weather now that the pool is 78° consistently. I think that I'm adding swimming back into my exercise routine shortly. Can't wait to see some pics of you and Linda out kayaking...sounds like your summer will be filled with adventure. I hope that the fact that the Canadian rowing team is using the lake will cause them to put effort (and money) into improving the conditions.

Speaking of the tax man. Both Shaun and Syd have easy returns. I do them using a free online program called TurboTax. Checked today...thought that they should have rec'd them. The IRS has sent Syd's to the bank and it should be in her account tomorrow. Excellent news. Then I check Shaun's. Nope...the IRS can't find it. Then I check TurboTax. They can't find it. Good grief! Now we need to get on the phone and get this straightened out. I've got the copy of where I submitted it printed out. Because, I'm old and I really don't trust electronics. SMH :rollingpin1: Into the rat hole we go....

Good afternoon, everyone!
@faerywings I'm glad you enjoyed my layers story. I truly can't tell you how long I did that. I had no guidance. No mentor. Then I got a Corel book for Dummies and my whole world changed. Or at least my layers. LOL

Hopefully the injections will work. I'm not expecting a miracle, just hoping to buy some time. I "think" they're feeling better already though last night was hell. Boy, did one of them hurt something awful. The insomnia was vicious and today I have the most beautiful rosey cheeks. LOL ....to go with the hot flashes.

@LSlycord I hope they find the tax return quickly. EEEK

@bcgal00 wow! that's expensive for sure. I bet it will be amazing when it's done though.
