Yikes, I am dragging a bit this morning. I had to redo the date up there ^ twice. First, I had typed February, then I made it Monday again. We are back to winter weather and it is *cold.* The wind is terrible and there have been some power outages in town but not here thankfully- *knocks wood* But, the sun is today so I won't *(will try not to) complain.
Not much new is happening here, same old redux. I was able to finish another page for Christopher's book and I only have 4 more to go. The one I did yesterday won't get uploaded since it was a mish-mash of designers and I didn't keep track of what I used from my stash. But I feel like I might actually get it done before the end of the month.
I feel like so much of my time was wasted on trying to book an appt for the vaccine. I follow a bot on Twitter that posts when there are open appointments. I was so close on 3-4, maybe 5?? different times where I could click on the appt but by the time I could start to enter my info, it was already taken. So. Frustrating. Now that life is starting to happen again, I am wanting to rejoin the world too. I know that the kids are.

The big project today is that I want to do Gary and my taxes. "Want" is not the right word-- need is more like it. If I can get that done, early enough, I will try to do something more relaxing in the afternoon. My stress and anxiety are ticking up a bit so I want to keep on top of that.

How about you, what good things do you have happening today?
Hugs!

@LSlycord If I lived near the ocean, I don't know if I would ever leave. :D

@taxed4ever Has there been any updates in your area when outdoor activities can resume? I hope that the weather cooperated so you could go on your walk and not get too wet yesterday. I wish that my Gary was a neat freak. I have stayed out of his bathroom for weeks and it is disgusting. I am about ready to cave and clean it but why should I, I am not the one leaving hair and stubble all over the sink and floor? grrr.
I am sure that whatever you decide to do with the fireplace, it will look gorgeous! Last week the new Admin had a candle lighting ceremony to mark 500,000 American deaths. I literally cannot comprehend that number. A half a million people, just gone in one year. Astounding and tragic. </3
The first time I try a recipe it always seems to take forever but it sounds like it tasted fantastic! It is crazy that a lasagna could cook in 10 minutes. wow.

@Cherylndesigns Please tell Braden that his O-Aunts are very proud of him!!! That is an impressive achievement and ITA, under the circumstances, even more so. You all must have been beaming!
hehe, your shopping trip brings me back to the days when I could live at the mall. Wearing tight clothes. And heels. I am so short that I wore heels everywhere in HS. I had one pair of sneakers that stayed in my gym locker and I had a pair of pink hightops, everything else was between 4-5" heels. Now look at me, I live in sweats and sneakers with orthotics!! Bwuahahah!!
Enjoy your purchases and I hope that you can find the boots in your size somewhere. Good healthy vibes to your DD and DGD. You will get there, hopefully, with the new J&J vaccine, things will pick up!
OMG, I am crying- that new Bat Signal is hysterical! Cici the Dictator!!!!!! hahahahah!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!

@nancyr I am so sorry that the 2nd dose hit you so hard. But that is great news that he said that flying in May is good to go!!! I honestly cannot imagine that you would have to watch your weight since you are so darn active. I mean you walk Luther all of the time. Me, I am a lazy ol' hermit. ( I also have gained a lot of weight its the past year so there is that) Is it as cold and windy by you today too? How did the Devils play last night?
The chili recipe sounds really interesting!

Oh wow, I let time get away from me again. xoxo

Morning everyone, it looks like it will be a blah kind of day. Lots of high cloud however it does not look like it will rain, so maybe the sun will peek out later this morning. Yesterday was a good one, the sun came out and the temps warmed up for my walk. I got all of my cleaning done before noon and did some O'scraps work finished too. I feel like I got lots accomplished. So now maybe I can concentrate on getting some scrapping done. I have a birthday card to make for a friend of the family who is turning 90 on the 13th of March so I should get that done soon so it actually arrives on time. Swimming today at noon, so I will leave my Gary some lunch before I head out. We chatted a bit last night about how to re-do the fireplace and I think we have come up with a good plan, so perhaps we will be busy doing that this weekend. It could take a long time to complete but that's ok, what else have we got to do right? Signs of spring as the birds are busy singing in the mornings and a few of the bushes are starting to bud. Oh I keep forgetting to take a photo for Chris of my daffodils coming up. I will try to do that today!

@faerywings - Chris I sure hope you are able to get your appt. for your vaccine and that you don't have any ill effects from it! Looks like I will not be able to get my vaccine until May or June, guess it will depend on how quickly the others get done. Got notice today that MIL and FIL should be able to book their appts on March 15th, so hopefully they don't have any problem with that! I know how much you don't want to do your taxes, but a necessary evil (as my Mother would say). So I hope that you get it completed! I am surprised that my DH has not done ours yet, but then hey he probably feels the same way about doing them LOL.

Sorry I got a call coming in gotta go!

Good morning!! How can it be March 2nd??? Chris, I keep thinking it's still February!

I knew you'd ROTL over Cici the Dictator!!! The emoji is a little devil. Hahaha Like I'm such a tyrant. UGH on having to do the taxes. Chuck did ours right away and took them in to be verified. I'm so glad he does all that. I'd have to pay somebody to do them.

Thanks for the good wishes about Braden. We're so proud of him! He's such a good kid, too and is so willing to help us do anything. He even comes and gets our trash every day or so and takes it down to the dumpster. Somebody (I don't remember who) was concerned about the bear and the trash. It only sits out for a day and then Braden comes and picks it up in his truck. I've been paranoid about that bear! We had huge blackbirds that DID get into it one day though. So far, there has only been one bear sighting except for all of those tracks around Ava's house.

Still no high speed internet! I need to go somewhere today or tomorrow and download a bunch of files. That takes up so much of my time. I'm going to be in Heaven when we finally get it. I'll never take it for granted again.

Everybody have a good day. The sun is shining here - the snow is completely gone and it's warm enough to resume my daily walks with Daisy. She's very happy about that!

Waving to all.

Ok I am back after a lengthy face time with Heather and Hunter. We had lots to catch up on, Hunter was happy to let me read to him today and then we played a bit too. We both have the same book called "Get Well Clown Arounds". He thinks its pretty great that we both own the same story and we can turn the pages together, so many funny little things to look at on each page and he points them all out to me. So cute!!

@Cherylndesigns - You must be so very proud of Braden! I know that I am!! That is too bad that you could not get the boots you wanted, that seems to happen to me a lot, I find something I love, but it doesn't come in my size MMPH!! Sure hope that bear doesn't bother with your trash, you have to be so careful, because they will keep coming back looking for that free food!! We get fined if we leave our trash out overnight and can only put it out to be picked up a few hours before the truck comes. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get your high speed internet soon! Good luck downloading what you need today!

@nancyr - Sorry to hear that the second shot bothered you so much! My sister said the same thing, she felt poorly for a few days! I am going through the same thing with my weight, but then I am not hiking anymore and the walks just are not the same as the strenuous hikes that I would do. I need to cut my portions down too and I am sure that the wine consumption is not helping me either LOL. I am sure most of the world has seen a few pounds added on over this past year! It will be great that you will be able to fly again soon. We still have the border closed to Canada, but I know some are finding their way here anyway. Enjoy your hockey and good luck to your devils playing those darn Islanders. Our Bruins finally pulled up their socks and won their last game. Yes we are busy with lots of projects and my Gary always says to me... why did we buy this house if all you want to do is change everything LOL.

Off to get my swim back packed and get to the pool. Have a great day everyone!

Hi, all. Yesterday was a big scrapping day... it always is on the 1st day of the month. Uploading to galleries, FB, and other places. Ended up being a PJ day as it was 3PM before I knew it. No point in getting dressed that late in the day. LOL But I did get my shower done earlier today. Had to wait for a call-back by Primary Care doc's office. She wants to have an 'in person' visit. Haven't had one of those for the past year... just tele-med online. Will see her next week. I have lost a couple of pounds which means my fingers are slightly smaller.. and that led to a heart-break when I realized after I got dressed that my pinkie ring was missing. It was a special one that DH gave me when we were in Athens, Greece back in 1989 and I have worn it ever since then. I have searched all over but haven't found it. Praying that I find it somewhere. Had to call in to activate the refills on meds at the base - will be ready late tomorrow so will try to go on Thursday to pick them up. So it will be a busy day as I will go to grocery shopping at the commissary.

Cheryl, give Braydon a bit hug from me... and congrats on NHS induction. DH and I were both members. Glad you are being very careful about garbage and bears. So sorry you are having such problems getting to a hot spot and getting downloads. That must be so frustrating.

Trudy... another big project for you and Gary.... redoing a fireplace/mantel is major. Be sure to take before and after photos so we can see them. Glad you had a good facetime with Heather and Hunter.

Chris, glad to hear you got another page done for Christopher's book. Hope you get the rest of the pages done before the end of the month. I hear you about days feeling the same-old same-old. My days run into each other and seem to be the same. Yes, it has been a year+ since everything came to a halt. I hosted the Feb 2020 Red Hat chapter meeting at my house and that was the last time we got together. Who could have foreseen how this last year would evolve.... so many changes in everyone's lives.

Time for lunch and since I missed breakfast... I am hungry. CYL

I meant to write something last Monday (or the one before that?) but this Monday is gone as well. As is February. The usual keeps on keeping on plus Friday I got my second shot. My arm below the shot turned bright red and really sore and I didn't feel too great Saturday either (but no fever). Sunday I woke up feeling myself again, so that's good. Hope all of you get appts if not the shots soon.

Chris, love all the good news in your family. Scott must be so happy. How did you get so close to finishing up the book? Seems a minute ago you were just half way. Spring really is coming! Cardinals have been singing for a while and Friday while out we heard a House Finch. And daffodils along the house next door are up several inches (which we can see now with the snow melted.) Like you I wish we could have DST all the time.

Trudy, love the stories of your time with Hunter. I know you wish for in person, but it is so wonderful he has all that time with his grandma. Hope the fireplace gig isn't too complicated. As said above: before & after photos please.

Kay, sounds like you'll have more busy days, but that is probably a good thing in the long run. Hope your weather is good when you're out.

Cheryl, I CANNOT imagine living without decent wi-fi this long!!! So good you have all that family to keep you laughing and getting their help. Congrats to Braden on NHS!

Felis, I enjoy the crochet, etc. thread and you little one is so sweet.

Have a good one, all.

It is our Liberation Day today and it is line of few holidays these day, so I'm more with my family, but tomorrow will get back to regular posting! Absolutely love this new reaction option that allows me to show you that I'm still listening even when not post!

@scrap-genie Nice to hear that, as I become pesky sometimes!

Good morning ladies....I missed yesterday. It was crazy busy. Andie went to the groomer, I had a doctor's appointment, Sydney got quarantined from school for the 3rd time and we went (virtually) to two high school state basketball games in Iowa where Syd had former teammates playing.

At the groomer, we found that Andie now weighs 94.5 pounds. I think she needs to get about 6-7 pounds off from the Covid days. She isn't fat but for the sake of her joints, she needs some exercise and a little less weight.

At the doctor, I had added 6 pounds since last July...the good news is that I had lost 12 before the visit last in July...so I'm still ahead of where I was a year ago. And the governor has said that people with high risk conditions can now get the Covid vaccine beginning today so the doctor's appointment was perfect timing and I got a letter to support getting the vaccine. (I'm diabetic.) Now I just need to get an appointment at the pharmacy...the online registration opens again today at 7:00. Wish me luck.

And Sydney has been quarantined for the 3rd time since mid-October. I don't worry at all about her exposure...she is always fully masked and sits behind a plastic desk shield. She doesn't even know the person in her ASL class that has Covid so no conversations with that person. And here is the part that is frustrating, she knew that they were quarantining her at 2:00 in the afternoon. But she still went to her remaining two classes because the paperwork hadn't been processed. Either she is a risk to others or she isn't. And she will be done quarantining and back to school on 3/9 because she was exposed last Friday but just found out. The rules just don't make sense. Good news is that she can do virtual classes with her regular classes so she won't get behind.

I will be back on the correct thread later today.

Good morning. I know I'm on the wrong thread too, but I want to answer some of your lovely comments.

@taxed4ever that's so amazing that you get to spend so much time with Hunter! That's so fun that you both have the same book and can read together. I got a "Hi, Cici" yesterday. First, I just got "hi". I told him he could do better than that. He's just too cool now and can't be torn away from whatever game he's playing. Yes, we are SO proud of Braden! I'm planning to scrap some of the pictures we took, so you'll all get to see him. He's the sweetest kid!

@BrightEyes I'm SO sorry you lost your pinkie ring. I know how upset you must be - I'll send you "finding vibes" and sincerely hope you find it. Be sure to look in anything you've worn that has pockets in it. I've found quite a few things in my pockets. I hope your doctor's appointment goes well today. Having the telemed's nice, but you just need to GO periodically.

@nancyr not having wifi is making me crazy! I spend a LOT of time just driving to a place that I can download my files and have neglected a lot of them because I just didn't have time - it stinks!!! I have to go today - in between our daughter coming at 1 and Chuck leaving until 2:30. I make a list on a 3x5 card of ALL the files I have to download, then sit in the front seat and download them. I invariably miss one. Just working on a hotspot is slow and it takes me forever to do anything. I will definitely give Braden a hug!

@felis Happy Liberation Day!

@LSlycord I'm so happy that you'll be getting the vaccine soon! What kind of dog is Andie? We took our Daisy to the groomer yesterday, too. She looks like a big fluffball today.

This quarantine stuff is a pain - especially for the kids. Our kids have been sent home numerous times, too.

Hugs to all
