Happy first day of Spring! I think it becomes official at 11 pm EDT or thereabout. I wish it felt more like it today but I'll take what I can get. FWIW, I prefer to celebrate the meteorological first day of Spring which is March 1. Heck, I'll celebrate any first day of Spring over and over LOL!

I have fabulous news-- the noise levels should be much, much lower today. Gary was back at it by 8 am yesterday. The flooring is all done, the closet shelving is back in place, the trim is reattached and he installed all of the new door knobs that Caitlyn ordered. It's crazy how different it all looks. It's crazier that Gary would not take a break until he was done. I have a couple of pictures to share once I get them off of my phone.
I ended up flip-flipping much of my day/week's schedule yesterday. I hope I can remember what I am supposed to be doing ;)
Scott was coming here on Thursday for corned beef and cabbage. I had the meat in the freezer but it made no sense to cook it for only Gary. After I realized that Cait was working until 6 pm we switched dinner to today, which means Sam and Tom are also coming. I needed more food so I then I had to switch my grocery pick-up to today.
I cook the corned beef in the crock pot so I need to get that going as soon as I pick up groceries and then I am off to the surgeon with Jaida for her *fingers crossed* last recheck. My ILs are stopping in the afternoon which will be nice-- we haven't seen them since Christmas! Everyone had been sick and my ILs had a ton of Drs visits. FIL is having a heart ablation on Thursday and MIL said he is nervous about the procedure, understandably.

A small wrinkle in Caitylyn's bridal shower... She got invited to Tom's stepbrother's fiancee's shower- the same day as hers. I cleared the date with Tom's mom and sisters in early February. I dunno what they are going to do but I sent out Save the Date cards a month ago. *shrugs*

Let me wrap this up and get myself ready. Hugs!

@BrightEyes We are the same temps-- 30* this morning and when I took the dogs outside, I saw snow flurries. ick.
I skimmed to the end of the thread and I hope that you have more information about your SIL by now. And I hope that he has a good prognosis and recovery. Please send your DD#2 our love. ♥

@vickyday My MIL has severe osteoporosis as well and we joke with her that she'd better be careful or she is going to crumble into bits if she keeps falling. A few years ago, she was using crutches on the stairs and she fell and broke her wrists. We need to get bubble wrap for you and for her LOL

@Cherylndesigns Pyrenees are beautiful dogs but I wouldn't want one loose on my property. That is awful that he isn't being cared for properly.
I don't think its the government's control over meds as much as it is the insurance companies having fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders and not patient care. :soapbox: For-profit and medical care should not be part of the same equation.
Either way, it's not right and the patients suffer.

My dad's favorite breakfast used to be Sausage Egg McMuffins until he realized they had about 4 days' worth of his daily sodium intake limit. He still talks about how much he enjoyed them. hahah!

Good job, Gary! Now, can he relax and rest?? Did you do before and after pictures? I would love to see the grays together! Our bathroom needs to be repainted big time!

Sausage gives me indigestion really badly, even though I love it, I avoid it like a plague!
HA! I just had a vision of myself in bubble wrap!

Good Morning!
It's only 31* feels like 23 this morning! OY VEY! It is going to be sunny all day, but cooler temps than yesterday!

I got 1 1/3 miles walked yesterday before I gave up because the wind was so cold! My back was just starting to be achey enough to quit, so I quit! I forgot to look at my time, but I was moving along pretty well up until the last lap! So, it's probably just as well that I went ahead and quit before I hurt myself!

No lunch with Mark yesterday. He just wasn't really hungry so didn't want to eat "just because." I told him that was fine. So, I figure we will probably go today.

Noah was not doing well on his job yesterday. Literally, he was sleeping on the job! He stays up way too late playing games and/or watching TV! Mark caught him asleep 3 times yesterday. He told him one more time and he was going to make him clock out and go home. I hope he doesn't blow this job!

I fixed pork chops in the air fryer last night for the first time! I also tried a new combination of spices that Mark really liked. You coat the pork chops in olive oil and then the spices I sprinkled (on Mark's) on both sides are: paprika (smoked is what I used), salt, pepper, ground mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, a bit of red pepper flakes. I just put the paprika, salt, pepper and ground mustard on mine. Cooked them on 400 for 15 minutes! Mark's was just about perfect but mine, being cut thinner than his, was pretty dry! So I will have to remember to remove mine sooner! Plus we had a baked potato and Mark wanted some frozen spinach. It was a good meal! Almost more than I can handle at once! I need to try cooking the baked potatoes in the air fryer! Maybe I'll try cooking the sweet potato I have for my supper tonight. Mark and Bobby and Kevin are going to do some target practice and are planning on roasting hotdogs in the woods tonight after work. Which reminds me. I need to get the dogs and buns out of the freezer.

OK, I'm going to close this out and get my cup of broth and do my morning devotional reading!
HAGD!

Morning, all. Good news... Son-in-law is back home from the hospital. DD#2 said he is back to being himself again! No other details but that is wonderful news. I am sure we will hear more soon. So glad we have text messages with the family so we all get the news no matter what time it is sent. I was already in bed asleep when DD#3 sent the message.

I have a couple of CT LOs I need to work on today. Think this should be a PJ day... it is 35*F again this morning with rain in the forecast before noon and again for this evening. My fleece PJs are warm and comfortable. No errands to run so no need to get dressed today. :)

@faerywings Wow, Gary has been a dynamo on getting the floor done. Yes, we want to see the photos of the reno!! What a shame that there is a conflict with showers but you are committed to that date for a long time.

Wow, @vickyday - you are doing good on those walks. Just don't over-do.... glad you stopped when the back was getting sore!!! I agree... no point in eating when he wasn't hungry. Enjoy the lunch out today.

@Cherylndesigns I would be the same if that big dog is loose near your house. It is a shame that the owners don't take care of him.
I had better get busy on those LOs... :lol23:

GREAT NEWS for your SIL!!! I hope you hear even better news soon!
I'm trying to be very conservative on my walks! But I can tell that my back muscles are getting stronger since I have started walking again! That's enough incentive to keep me going! Even a little is better than none!
No lunch again with Mark as he was not hungry again. So, it is a pj day for me today, too! I don't want to be out in the wind and chill!

Good afternoon.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood - sunny and 60 right now.

Well, the big dog roamed the ranch practically all night. Daisy and Lila woke me up barking about 6 am and I guess the rest of the dogs barked from about 1 am on. He must have been making the rounds and got here last. I was NOT amused to be waked up at that hour of the morning. I'm just in my good sleep about that time. Haha We don't know what to do - we've called animal control and they obviously don't care. They've been called more than once. The guy (renter) HAS put his dog inside, so at least that's taken care of. The two of them are crazy together. The big dog is pretty aggressive and just won't stay away.

I need to get busy and try to accomplish something today. I still have stuff to go through - I try to take a little bite out of every day or so. It's not going anywhere, that's for sure. Social Security can't even "work me in" until April 4th. I don't know what people do who REALLY need their spouse's pension/ss checks because they don't come very quickly. I need to write a manual "Things They Don't Tell you". :banghead:

XOXO
