Ready for your deep breaths this morning? *innnnn and ouuuuuuut*
You good? Good!

Happy Tuesday and good things are happening here at the O. The party is just getting started:
Party Warm Up: Birthday Avatar Challenge
I have to think about what I want to do for a new avatar...

I feel like yesterday was a blur. It started off with me having to go to the pharmacy and that seemed like I was preparing to walk on the moon. I cracked myself up when I was getting out of my car. I had my Lysol wipes in the console and then thought -- hide them! So I put them under the seat! The parking lot was packed so I was happy to only have to go to the front part of the store.
My ILs came up and dropped off some canned food and water and coffee for us. They stayed for a little bit but we all were standing very far apart.
Then Caitlyn gets a call from the college's health dept. Because of the incident last week where the parent at the preschool said that her coworker was exposed/positive, she has to quarantine for 14 days, which meant the rest of us had to as well. Ack!
I had already canceled my PT and Dr's appts. But my grocery pick up was scheduled for Thursday. I called to ask if I could switch to delivery but there weren't any spots until Sunday. Scott's friend offered to pick up for us which was so damn sweet of her.

Caitlyn notified the school that her internship program was officially canceled and the director there was sad to hear that but said that she is welcome back to visit at any time. She also said that she was so sorry that the "stupid parent" said that because SHE MADE IT UP! The director contacted the grandmother who confirmed that it wasn't her coworker but a person in a different dept's friend of a friend blah blah blah. Director is furious.
But the HUGE relief we all felt that it was "fake news." (hehe, sorry to use that term!). Also, the kids found out the positive case at the school was not in direct contact with either of them.
So that was two bits of *fab* news in an otherwise day of world-wide bad news.

Today I am going to start doing my PT exercises at home. And since I didn't get much done in scrapping, I am going to do some of that. I also want to pick up my crocheting again, haven't done that in a while.

The weather is rainy and cool so we will be indoors, but tomorrow is sunny so I plan to be outside then.

My gratitudes:
-That we are not required to be quarantined- even though our behavior might not be any different, the labeling it as such, made it feel more restrictive. Funny how it can be psychological.
-My forsythia is starting to get that green/yellow "haze" to them which means they will bloom soon.
-virtual hugs are germ-free

Bwuhahahahah!!!!! Kay- that avatar cracked me up!!!!!!
OMG_ what a fantastic thing for DD#2 to be able to do for you. I cannot imagine how that must feel to be able to hear your DH's voice. I hope that she is able to get that all onto a DVD for you- what an absolute treasure to have that and what a thoughtful DD you have.
Hope that your errands went well.

Rae- Holy crap! I cannot believe that someone would do that to Jen. (sadly I *can* believe that) I am so thankful that the other man was able to stop her. I think the pandemic is going to bring out the best and worst in people. I hope that more people work towards the best.
BTW- I never know if anything DT says is the truth but he was asked yesterday if he is considering closing the border to Canada. He gave some "we'll see" answer. If you need to do anything for the trailer you might want to consider getting that taken care of soon, just in case. My fingers and toes are crossed that one of your pics gets chosen as a winner! And if not, at least lots of people will get to see your critter friends!

Trudy- that was how it was here too, sunny and chilly. The rest of the fam took the dogs for a walk but I stayed back, I was too cold. I am glad that the grands are ok with not being able to go on the trip. I feel so bad for *everyone* on this. (Minus one Administration that is messing it all up, make that two, I think the UK is about as bad off as the US) Anyway- I hope that Heather and boys, is she able to get services or support being that she is disabled? Thank goodness for Facetime! I told my brother that he should help my parents set up Facetime or Skype so they can visit with Christoper. *That* should be interesting. My mom still has trouble getting her emails. :D
MIL is happily quilting away, glad that you have enough paint to keep you busy for a while.

Nancy- I am so glad that NY/NJ/CT are working so well together to shut everything. down. Has your DH's school figured out how to do labs? And the grad school research? Bergan County is totally locked down and that is where Ramapo is located.
What service is Downton Abby on? I never watched and I am not sure if it is something that Gary would watch (or me for that matter). I told the fam that I want to start rewatching 30 Rock. I could use some Liz Lemon in my life :D

Kay- so smart of you to wear gloves. I wore plastic gloves when I had to sign for the prescriptions. I joked with the pharmacist that I wasn't overreacting b/c of Gary's risk, but I also noticed that we were both standing far away from the counter.
Some stores are having Senior Hours, such as Stop and Shop. I emailed the info to my dad who is going to do that. I hope that one or two stores by you can accommodate.
Oh my goodness, that was so smart of you to burn the files- my heart is so happy for you. Truly!!!

jean- glad that your brother is going to be able to be home. You make sure that you and DH stay healthy too.
I think that the crocus photo is a good snapshot of the sign of the times. it was a great page.
I hope that you get to see lots of birds if you are out and about and far away from people. :)

Felis- you know what I am going to say about being excited to garden!! It is very exciting!
And yes, seed mixes and wildlife. And bees! I can't wait for that!
I have been eying the bottom part of the Dining room walls. They need to be repainted and as soon as it is warm enough to keep the windows open, that is on my To-Do list too.

I better get going, get some breakfast. xoxoxo!!!

Morning, gals. Woke up at 4:30 AM... after not falling asleep until midnight! Almost a sure bet that I will have to nap this afternoon. Thinking I might make this a PJ day. I am staying in for the foreseeable future. Ran over to the bread store yesterday afternoon but didn't even go inside as it was obvious from looking in the window that the shipment didn't come in. I can survive without the bread if I run out. I do have tortillas and some hot dog and hamburger buns so can use them. Was relieved to know that I will be not going out - especially since there were 4 more cases of CoVid-19 since yesterday afternoon in our city.

Enough of that... and on to continuing saga of the family home movies. While talking to DD#2 yesterday, she mentioned that she had copied them from a VHS tape at the same time she had copied her wedding VHS tape. Then I remembered that yes... we had given each of the kids a VHS tape of our home movies. So a search of the tapes in the family room turned up my parents 50th anniversary tape but not the family movies. A search in hubby's office found not only the family movies but her wedding tape!!!

Checked out the beginnings of the VHS tape of the home movies and it was okay. Then watched the wedding tape... which included the rehearsal dinner. It happen to be held on DH and my 39th anniversary. DD#2 surprised us with a cake to celebrate the occasion. As we had eloped, we had never had a wedding cake so it was extra special to us. And to hear and see it was even more of a special treat now. Decided to finish watching the home movies tape and was amazed and stunned to realize that there was a 2nd part to it... covering more family events and a tape we made of the family Christmas when DH was gone at sea to send to him. In addition was DH and I taking a walk around the apartment complex and our apartment where we were living on Long Island as the rest of the family was still back in San Diego. WOW... to rediscover this tape with lots of videos of DH has really raised my spirits. I will be looking at the other places we have VHS tapes to see if there are any more family tapes. Since we have gone to DVDs for movies in the last several years, I had forgotten about what we have on the VHS tapes.

Chris, so sorry for the scare that the family was going to have to self-quarantined.. and glad it was a false alarm. But think you are lucky that friends were willing to help out getting the grocery pick-up done for you. I heard that it was Canada that closed the borders. I don't have face-time on my computer - no camera with it.....hmmmm... now that I recall - DH's laptop has a camera built in. May bite the bullet and learn how to use it using the laptop. Glad you like my new Birthday avatar! Yeah... thought that was fun photo to use for the challenge.

Rae, so glad there was a guy who took the time to help Jen out by following the gal and her son who hit Jen's car. There are some nice people out there.

Jean, glad to hear your brother will be home from the hospital soon. Know that was worrisome for you. Take care and stay well.

Trudy, we were also having some delightful temps... up to 69 and sunny yesterday. But that is changing... cooler and rains may be starting tonight. It will heavier tomorrow with possibility of some sleet or snow in our section of town. Much colder and down below freezing at night.

Coffee cup is empty and I need to get some breakfast. Will pop back in later to see how everyone is doing. Have some CT work that I need to do so that should keep me busy today. Stay safe everyone.

Morning everyone! I have been face timing with Heather and the boys ever since I got out of bed this morning... I woke up at 7:15 and it is now 9:30 yikes a long but very fun time! It is the least that I can do to help out with this isolation! So the boys and I play in their bedroom with the transformers and other toys and we giggle and have a great time while their Mom gets their lunch ready and does a few other things. Wish we could be there with them, but I know that this is the next best thing! Poor Heather is having a hard time finding bread and pasta that the boys like to eat, hopefully the store will be stocked once again in the next day or so. Why do people feel the need to hoard things?? Sure hope her In-Laws can help them out with groceries!

Chris - Yesterday was a blur for me too and sadly no scrapping, so I really need to get that done today also. What on earth will I do for the Avatar challenge?? Guess I will be digging through old photos! How nice of your parents to bring you some canned goods! Yikes how could anyone give a statement like that about being in contact with someone with COVID19!! I am glad that you will no longer have that worry, but sheesh really?? What is the matter with people? They closed the pool down completely this morning and DH phoned to let me know. So no swimming for me for quite some time :mmph: Oh well I will try to get out for walks and maybe do some work in the back yard. Hopefully things here at the O will keep us occupied. I have to get a card made for SIL's 65th birthday and should call MIL to see how they are managing. Other than that I will try to paint and get some scrapping done too.

Kay - Brrrr sounds like it will be chilly at your place! It gets pretty cold still here at night, but it is nice to see the signs of spring finally arriving! How lovely to have discovered the VHS tapes! Such a treasure for you! I hope that you enjoy getting your CT work done! Thankfully it is something that won't be closed down and we can all keep busy with during this crazy time!

I will close off here and get my morning chores done then come back to see who else has popped in. Need to dig through some old photos so I can get my Avatar changed up. Kay your's breaks me up :pound: Have a great day everyone! Stay safe!!

I had no luck first time through 2006 photos finding one of me, but Chris, you inspire me to find a bird one that would work. Here I've been cancelling dentist and podiatrist appts. and got a call rescheduling one for DH. Crazy time but the party here should help keep our spirits up.

Chris, whew, another insane story about an awful person the false report but good thing you know it was false. Love the dogs of 2006.

Kay, treasures for you in those tapes and a good thing that you have the equipment to view them. When the world goes back to functioning, you can get them transferred to digital media. And your avatar will have us all giggling for sure!

Trudy, it's better the pool closed I'm sure even though it limits you. Seems every day more is shut down. Thank goodness for all the possibilities online and for you especially being able to help with the grands. Hoping to see the commissioned painting one of these days. I've got a piece that I work on here and there and I know some things I want to do on it, but right now I have little motivation. Just feels like nothing is quite real.

Felis, I think most of us here are homebodies, at least partly. And I really like you dancing off your stress (and the cute picture!) Thanks for the good wishes for my brother. He can get better, but at this point he's not going to be totally well as he has chronic conditions. Wouldn't it be nice to get the hedgehogs coming back!

Take care and stay well!

Good afternoon, ladies. Worked a bit this morning and the went out for about 4 hrs, checking grocery and pet stores for essentials. Was lucky and got the last bag of Taz's dog food. Shelves are bare everywhere here. Deliveries are being delayed, stores are getting small shipments instead of regular amounts and eggs, beef and milk are nowhere to be found. Beef has been gone for about 4 days now. No one knows when they will get some. I am on a long list to get 5 lbs if the butcher gets some in over the next 5-10 days but she said my chance of getting any is slim. I managed to snag a few tins of high priced tuna and there was no bread anywhere but was able to grab a small loaf of cheese bread for D for sandwiches. He is home now for an indefinite time. One of my bosses is switching to tele-medicine (online) only for next week and she'll see what happens after that. My other main boss is still working this week but next wk is half days. Almost everything is closed now around here except for grocery stores. The bird store (managed to get 1 of 2 last big bags of bird seed) is closing today for at least 2 wks. The bird sanctuary I went to on Saturday is now closed indefinitely. What a crazy world right now.

I'm getting to work for a few hours and hope to sit down tonight to scrap a bit and unwind.

I'll be back later to read personals and see how everyone is doing. BTW....I did change my avatar for the birthday party. Can you believe that old pic is me? LOL. I haven't died my hair in many years, it seems funny to see that pic.
