Happy St Patrick's Day! *throws lucky gold coins to everyone!!*

I hope all of you are having a fine top o the morning! We don't really celebrate this, but I do make a mean corned beef in the crock pot. My family doesn't eat red meat at all, but we make an exception for this. And I have to brag- I have had corned beef cooked by Irish people, and mine is better. (shush, don't tell anyone I said that :gossip: )

Yesterday I finished my taxes. I haven't submitted them yet, because I want to go over everything with a (semi) cleared mind before I do.
Gary asked me this morning if he could get me anything, and I said "A working brain, please. We could even share one, since that is better than we both have now. Just do NOT get one that says Abby Normal." :pound:
(Young Frankenstein reference if you have never seen it)

Taxes done- check
Food shopping list started- check
Scrapped a page- check!!!

Today we are to our LLMD. I hope that she can help either of us... One can always hope!!!
Then to finally get my car inspected- it was due last month but it is 45 min's from here but only 15 mins from Dr's office so it is not too far out of the way. Hopefully Gary's stomach can hold out long enough to do that.

We also spoke to the Lyme disease documentary filmmaker and he will be coming on Thursday to get photos/video.

I have to get rolling- shower, then get dinner in the crock pot.

Hope that you all have a wonderful day!

QOTD DO you celebrate St P's Day in any way? Do you like corned beef, or other tradition Irish foods? Dress in green?

good morning - Happy St. Patricks day. This is the only day all season that My Devils wear an alternate jersey - they wear their red and green jerseys. They have red helmets and green pants. Looking forward to go to the game. Every time I think I am going to have a quiet day it changes. My girlfriend was asked to pick up friends at the airport so I went with her. Then we came home and got in a good walk. The sun actually came out for a few minutes. Then came home and cooked. I love curry and Rachael Ray had her mom's recipe. OMgosh it was just what I wanted. The boys went back for seconds and they each took it in for lunch today. So now I don't have to cook tonight.

Chris congrats on being so productive! Hope car inspection goes well. I hate going so I often just take it to my local gas station and let them do it.

Trudy hope you got all accomplished.

Hi to everyone and have a great day.

QOTD nope I do not do anything special for this day. I may make corned beef later this week.

Happy St. Patricks Day to you all!!
I actually had a half decent sleep last night and only woke up the one time to use the privy and then drifted right back to sleep again. Woke once because DH was raising the roof with his snoring. So on swift kick and he rolled over and stopped:becky: Then I slept right until 7am and never even heard DH get ready for work and leave the house.

Today is supposed to be a non swim day for me, but yesterday when I got to the pool there was something going on and the place was packed!! So I turned around and came home. So perhaps I will see what the place is like on a Tuesday. I really don't want to start going only twice a week (tues.-thurs.) but if its going to be nice and quiet then it just might be better to go then. We will see. DD and Mason did not Skype with me yesterday, poor little Mason has broken out in Hives and the washing machine repair guy was supposed to coming around to look at Heather's machine that is on the fritz. They have had some further flooding in the basement also from melting snow and so Jonah (her man) stayed home and was dealing with that. Wow one thing after another for those guys!

Chris - Don't worry I won't tell anyone that you are a better cook than most of the Irish out there your secret is safe with me!! :gossip: :becky: I hope your lyme dr can help you out with some new wonderful thing that will cure you!! I pray for that everyday!! Nice to have your taxes done, DH did ours the other night and even with the income splitting that we can do now, he still has to pay a bundle back to the tax man!! So not fair!! they get you one way or another!!

Nancy - I will have to check out those uniforms that your Devils will be wearing, sounds like an interesting combination of colours!! I love curry too, just as long as its not too much curry, it can be overpowering, we used to have East Indian neighbours and she was a wonderful cook! But the smells that came out of her kitchen were very strong!! She did bring us over food once in a while have you ever had roti and mungy beans? Yummy , at least the way she cooked them. glad you got out for a walk today. That is what I am going to do if I decide not to try swimming today.

Well it has been quiet in this forum lately, but we are all busy with our lives and dealing with everyday things. I hope that you all have a lovely day and that you get to scrap something beautiful today!

QOTD - Irish blood runs in my veins , but I do not celebrate st paddy's day too much I might wear a bit of green, but not crazy over the Irish cooking part and do not like Corned Beef at all :nono:

As Clint Eastwood so memorably put it, "Ahhhmmmm baaaack."

We had a fabulous time. Every time we go to Arizona, we say, "This was the best trip ever." And that holds true this time too. It was fun to re-unite with our Army-Days-Buddies, the weather couldn't have been more perfect, and our activities were the best. Usually we just golf, but this time our host (Greg)'s neighbor wanted to lead us on a 4-wheelin' adventure in the desert. OMG!!!!!!!! WHAT A HOOT! I am addicted and cannot WAIT to do it again. What a thrill.

Usually we just stick around Phoenix/Surprise for our golf, but this time we went up to Sedona for a day. I hadn't golfed for 4 months, so was thinking it might be a stretch for me. It was, but I somehow rose to the occasion, and even parred the 18th hole. That was a THRILL for me. I don't get many pars, especially on the Upper Crust courses we play while in AZ. After golf, the non-golfers joined us, and we all went on a short walk/hike at Bell Rock. Some of the more adventurous climbed pretty high. The rest of us enjoyed looking up from much lower down!

One of the couples (Greg's parents) brought Copper River salmon down from their home in Alaska, so we barbecued that one night, but the rest of the time, we ate out every night. LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!! One night we were eating on the patio (yes, short sleeves and flip flops), and a concert broke out! A really talented musician played the guitar, harmonica, and sang just about any song you could name. Dave and I even got up and did a little dancing to a disco beat at one point, and dazzled our friends! LOL

In the balmy evenings we gathered in the back yard near the pool, around the fire pit and just reminisced (& relived the day's golf triumphs!). We all met when we were in our 20s/early 30s, and Greg was only about 10 years old. He is now in his early 50s and has gray hair too!

So! Five days in a row of golf produced 5 loads of laundry...and well worth it. I'm feeling constricted having to wear jeans, shoes and sox, and a sweater in the house, but admit freely that it was very nice to be in my own bed last night. Still.....I'd really rather be in Arizona.

OH! And while we were gone, DD and her husband made an offer on a house in UT, and it was accepted. Now the wait for the paperwork...inspection....etc. If all goes well, we hope to be going to help them with the move. A driving trip, as we have a car-load of things to take to them, and would want our own car there anyway.

Chris, I'm glad your taxes are done. What a relief. Hope the doc has a miracle cure for you today. Along with Trudy, I do pray for you if not EVERY day, most days.

Trudy, speaking of prayers....I'm feeling so bad for your DD and her family. My DD has gone thru more than "her share," so I know exactly how you feel.

St. Patrick's Day: If ANYthing, I'll wear orange since we have a Protestant, not Catholic background. If I'm around any grandkids, though, I wear a token green so they won't pinch me. No one has ever agreed that my green eyes count as wearing green. No celebration or special food. March 17 is my youngest sister's birthday, but she has cut herself off from the entire family, so I don't even send her an e-greeting. :'(

Laundry calls.

QOTD: My only acknowledgement of the day is to NOT wear any green. I was raised to wear orange, but grew up to consider that in bad form. Both my parents had strong Scots-Irish (Protestant) heritage.

Today is beautiful with sun, maybe a little breezy and probably not quite going to make it to 40 F. Yesterday we got to 60!!! but cloudy. I spent some of the afternoon with an eye doctor who did many tests to determine the cause of the new disturbances in the vision of my right eye. It started up on Thursday and had me in quite a tizzy. The doc found nothing at all wrong, so it is just basically floaters that I'll have to get used to. At least now I can relax about it and not get so stressed. The joys of getting older!

Chris, hooray for finishing the taxes! Adding my hopes for good things from the Lyme Dr. I'm afraid the working brain is something many of us need. I sure feel that way sometimes.

Nancy, the Devils uniforms must be a sight to behold. Sounds like fun. Curry can be so variable, but you must have cooked a really nice one. Bet you had nice weather for your walk.

Trudy, wonder why your pool was packed after being nearly deserted other times. Hope that works out. And poor DD, hope Mason's hives subside and the flooding stops.

Sharon, welcome back! Even though I don't golf, your trip sounds wonderful. Love the notion of all that warm weather and good times. So, now you can plan a moving trip in UT. Hope it is a lovely house for DD.

Have a good ones, folks!
