One more day down, one less Dr appt, much one more *giant* headache. Remember a week ago I went to my GP to get Pre-Op clearance. He said it would be done by Thursday. Yesterday, I see the surgeon and everything seemed all set. A half hour later, I am at my parents' house and they call wondering if I had gotten clearance. My Dr never sent anything over. Honestly, I wasn't surprised, they had done this once before. I call Gary to ask my GP to Fax the info over. The GPs office calls me asking if I had gotten blood done. The surgeon's office got the bloodwork but nothing else. The GP didn't have the bloodwork and needed that Faxed from the surgeon. Then the GP calls me a little while later, -- they didn't have the results from my Chest X-Ray. Well, *I* have the results of my chest X-ray, why don't they? Argh!!!!

I am so glad that Gary got the ball rolling because it is going to take a while to get this all set. Nancy-- please tell me that you had the same situation with your Drs!!!
I did have a very nice visit with my parents and my mom is bringing food up for the family next Tuesday so they won't starve. Dr said that I have to be completely off of my feet for a week, but I should be able to drive after 2 weeks. And crutches-- I am going to need crutches for a few days too. I have never used crutches before and I am not so coordinated on a good day. I have already warned the fam that there will be no laughing at me when I fall.
The only other "bad" thing the Dr said it that I have to be really careful with the dogs and that I shouldn't let them on the bed. I am not sure how I can get around that. I will have to be really careful.

I am going to the supermarket as early as I can get myself together. W has a vet appt at 11.20 for her ear.

Trudy- same here, we made it over freezing and into the 40s. Yay! It felt nice to not be all hunched into my coat when I was walking outside. I even had it unzipped in the car driving home. Did it ever rain? Surgery is next Wed.
Good luck with finding a great place to sell your paintings!

Kay- *giggles* So cute how happy you are about the rain. We are quite waterlogged here in NJ.
That is such great news about Red Lobster! I know how you were looking to eating there for DD's birthday (IIRC) last month and then it was next door.

HAGD ladies!

Have a few minutes before I need to get ready for the Red Hat Chapter lunch at Red Lobster. Looking forward to that so much. Dug out a purple leather jacket with cut leather fringe down the front edges to wear. I bought it at a RH conventions several years ago and have only worn it a couple of times. Paired it with purple pants, white turtleneck top, purple boots and a red western-style hat. Should be just right for the mid-50's temp today.

Chris, when my dad had foot surgery, we made a protection box for the bed. Took a large cardboard box, cut off the flaps on the top. Then cut a large "U" shape opening on one side. Flipped it over and placed it under the covers between the top and bottom sheet with the U opening toward the head of the bed. He slipped his feet into the opening and the box protected his feet from the covers. That might work for keeping the dogs away from your foot. Just had a thought... leave the side flaps on the top - then place them on the outside when putting the box in place and tape them down to the bottom sheet on the bed... that way it won't move around during the night. Sorry about all the troubles getting your test results over to the surgeon's office.

Chris- good luck on the foot surgery.
Kay- have a wonderful time with the Red Hat Ladies. How fun!

DH has had the flu and now developed chest congestion. the Tamiflu gave him nightmares, so he stopped taking it and is taking an antibiotic. Poor thing. He finally got some sleep after 4 days since he didn't take the Tamiflu. Yay

Morning everyone! We did get some rain yesterday afternoon and into the evening! We really needed it! This morning there is fresh snow on the mountain tops, but that's a great place for it and I hope it stays there! I have no idea what I got accomplished yesterday? Most of the morning was spent facetiming with Mason and Hunter and I got to spend lots of time with Mason while DD was putting Hunter down for his nap. I got some :washing: done and made a nice dinner, but other than that not much was worked on. I did get my challenge ready for April, but still working on the layout for it. Hope to do that today. For the most part I feel like I wandered around house aimlessly :loco: Looking forward to hiking tomorrow and then on Thursday I get my hair cut and colour (I really need it!) I think I need to get out of the house and spend some time with other people LOL.

Chris - Yikes woman, how will you be able to stay off of your feet for that long!!! Good luck trying to keep the dogs off of the bed too!! I have to shake my head at your Dr's !! WTH?? Why can't anyone get their act together for heaven's sake!! Glad your Gary was able to contact them and get what was needed done!! Hope you can get your shopping done in record time this morning! I know how much you hate it when it is crowded in your store! How wonderful that your parents will bring food for you, they really are the best! Take care of yourself please and you will recoup from your surgery quicker! I would love to be a fly on the wall when you try out your crutches!! :becky:

Kay - have a fun time with your Red Hat group and enjoy the yummy meal at Red Lobster! I am jealous, we don't have a Red Lobster here on the Island. We had one in Saskatchewan when we lived there, and we sure do miss being able to go! Sounds like you will be one styling Red Hatter!! Good idea about the box to protect Chris's foot after her surgery!!

Ok heather and the boys are calling, I need to go and find a good story to read to the boys this morning! Have a wonderful day ladies!

good day! Well I had my 3 week evaluation at PT and I am making progress. I love that they have to do evaluations so I know how I am doing. So when my leg is straight it is only 1 degree worse than my good leg, when bending my knee I am 111 degrees and need to get to 150-120. I have been thinking about why the progress bending got slower and I think it is due to the fact I am only taking tylenol for pain. And you know what they say no pain no gain LOL. So I am over all pretty happy. Yesterday my DH and I took Luther for a walk and I made it one mile. So when my therapist did the evaluation my knee had not swollen up so that is awesome. Yesterday was my son's birthday and my DH stayed home (his school is on spring break) and prepared his favorite Philly sticky buns. OMgosh they are the best. Then he made tacos for dinner. They were so good. Tonight I am going out to dinner with my girlfriend. It will be fun to being doing something normal.

Chris I cant believe how your doctors do not communicate. That puts such a strain on the patient at a time when it is not necessary and it just correct. I am very lucky. I have been with the same GP since 1980. In the past few years his practice joined a group. And it is a huge group but the best part is that everything is online. So I asked my doctor for a recommendation for the knee and he recommended some one in the group but I checked references and some many people had such praise and I really liked him. But the best part was that the knee surgeon has a dedicated person in charge of all surgeries. When you meet with her she makes all the appointments necessary and does all the follow up. So I am very lucky! You really are going to have to take it easy. It is hard but you need to do that. I know I am still leery around Luther but he is really has not jumped. The only thing he loves to do is give paw and of course that come close to the knee so I do have to watch for that. I think that Kay's advice about the box is pretty cool!

Kay your lunch out sounds really fun. Love the outfit! Have fun with the ladies.

Trudy glad your weather is getting warmer. We may make it to 60 by Friday but then with rain yuck! Love all the paintings! You are so talented.

Sharon so sorry your DH has the flu! that is terrible, I have never heard of that side effect with Tamiful. Glad he stopped and now can sleep. Take care and hope you stay healthy.

Good morning, ladies. The wkend flew by (D was in the hospital with his Crohn's and had surgery). Yesterday he spent all day sleeping and resting in his chair. He went to work today but will do light duties for the week.

I've been doing well. I've spent less time on the computer, on FB, pinterest, etc and have spent a bit more time scrapping. I am glad that my mojo is coming back (somewhat). I'm working harder in the morning, to try to stay on top of my workload and staying off the internet for most of the morning really helps. So this past week I only had to work late one night instead of many. I still don't really have any energy in the evening as I think the emotional stress wears me out by the end of the day and I've been going to bed around 10 most nights and some nights even falling asleep by 9:30.

I do well with a routine so now I just have to fit in my jogging time and a bit of weight lifting and I will have a schedule that works for me. I'm not popping in as much now but know that I do think of you all and will make time to check in here and there.

Chris - good luck with the upcoming surgery. I know it'll be hard for you to be still and rest for the recovery but hopefully the time will pass quickly and you'll soon be on your feet (without crutches). Your mom is so good to the family, coming over to bring food.

Nancy - so glad to hear things are progressing well. Enjoy your dinner out with your friend. Yes, I bet it does feel good to be out and about, doing things again.

Trudy - so glad we didn't get the snow last night they had predicted. I am so done with snow now. Enjoy your hike tomorrow.

I'm getting another coffee and then back to work. Have a great day everyone!

Well the complex got some of the soil ordered and it looks really good. The workers got almost all 40 yds done out of an estimated 100yds but I got an email today from the owner saying he did not estimate well enough and they were loosing money. So now if we want any more we will have to renegotiate the contract. Hmm I walked the entire complex with the guy and showed him how big and difficult it would be to spread it around. They are doing an excellent job but I am not impressed that they want to redo the contract. I will have to take this up with council and see what they want to do. It isn't like we have tones of money to throw around.

Chris, if it is anything like when I had my knee replaced the hospital will not let you go home until you have been shown and practiced with the crutches. There is a technique to going up and down stairs and the crutches have to be sized properly to your height.
Insist on Rehab showing you how to use them.

Kay I am happy to hear you are going to the Red hat things. They are a great support for you. Your outfit sounds bright and happy which helps to lift the spirits.
