How are all of you on the West Coast/PNW holding up? I have been reading so many of the social media posts about how hot it is in the Portland and Seattle areas. I am sure that it has to be just as bad for @taxed4ever and @bcgal00 . It is frightening how we are going to keep cooking this planet until everything is black and charred and Mother Nature just tosses us off. How is that for a bit of gloom and doom?
It was hot yesterday and going to be hot again today-- right now it is 76* with -- get this-- 79% humidity. Blech. I was outside in the yard for almost two hours again yesterday, spraying the whiteflies who thought they would show their annoyance by dive-bombing me. Ladybugs are very expensive to have shipped and I don't know of anywhere locally that has them so I asked my local gardening FB group for suggestions. I was told to make a mixture of water, dish soap, and baking soda and spray that on the plants.
Meanwhile, I was having a blast talking to some little tiny toads- smaller than a penny- i had to be very careful where I walked. I also grabbed my work gloves out of the packet in my garden tool back- when I did, a toad popped out with them, got a picture of him looking very grumpy.
I also was surprised by a frog who was hiding under some of the rocks by the pond. When I tried to get a pic of him, he scrambled farther under the rocks. He had super-bright brown and gold markings and a yellow stripe on his belly. I will keep looking for him.
I also got a bunch of stuff done in the morning that I had been putting off- a check-up with my GP and an eye exam/contact fitting.
I still need to make an appt with a GYN/mammo but let me take a breather first
I am cleaning this morning and then will need to figure out what to make for dinner. Gary made us egg sandwiches last night since no one wanted to be in the kitchen too long.
Have a great day, stay cool and hydrated!
