Good morning from rainy NJ. We are pretty darn soggy and will be for a while. Rain is forecasted for 6 out of the next 10 days. Ugh!
(at least it isn't snow, at least it isn't snow...)

I was pretty busy yesterday cleaning the kitchen. I was hoping to do the kitchen and Gary's bathroom but the kitchen was so intensive that I ran out of energy. I have a fantastic idea for an invention if anyone has the knowledge how to do it. Someone needs to find a way to make ceiling fan blades non-stick.
Wouldn't that be awesome??
I spent so much time trying to get the greasy dust off of the blades. Because I am super-short, I have to stand on the kitchen counter and b/c my kitchen is so small, there isn't a lot of room for me up there. I still don't know how I got up there when I was nesting and 9-months pg. Of course, I got stuck and couldn't climb back down :pound:

Gary brought home two bookshelves from his uncle's so that meant taking everything off of the rickety computer desk in the bedroom, rearranging some other furniture, going through old notebooks and papers (man, I save way too much crap!). The whole "out of sight out of mind" is a problem. But at least I tossed a bunch of stuff and recycled some more.

I have to go food shopping today. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
This afternoon, maybe I can treat myself with some time to scrap. I have been MIA as a Cheery O and creatively for a while and would love to spend some time for me today.
Sending hugs to all of you!

Kay- how are you feeling today? Hope you are on the mend. PJ days are the best

Trudy- I wish that I could send the rain to you. It really seems like our weather patterns have flipped coasts and it is not good. The best part of doing anything that you are bad at is the ability to laugh at yourself and not let it get to you. (See: Chris drawing chicken feet on werewolves during Pictionary) Congrats on the prize and I think that is a great idea to pass it along to the kids.
Can't wait to see the painting when it is done.

Nancy- I do the same thing, start out talking about the weather, LOL I wish your DS was here and I could send him to the grocery store for me.

Jean- This rain is the pits! :rain: I believe that is is the wettest June, feels like it here as well. How is the collage going? You are so creative.
Caitlyn thinks that she did well on the test. She said that there was only one answer that she wasn't really sure about and then remembered it right before she handed the exam in. Thank goodness for mnemonics. Erickson's 8 stages of development is TAI4GI ;)

I better get in the shower so I can go to the store. (ughhhhhhh again)

Woke up with the throat feeling almost normal. Keeping fingers crossed that it is finally okay. Guess staying in and lazing around was the right thing to do. Good thing as we had rain, thunder and lightening and lots of wind yesterday afternoon/evening. Spent the time reading and hoping that the power wouldn't go off... it didn't but it did flicker a few times. It was nice and cool when I got up so have the house opened up. Love these cool mornings so I can air the house out.

Been busy working on LOs for the new round of Oldies but Goodies sales. Got them posted so now is my time to look around to see what all is going on in digi-land.

Chris, you had me LOL picturing you crouched on the cabinet trying to clean the ceiling fan! Please be careful. Guess I am super aware of people falling and being badly hurt since 2 dear friends fell and injured themselves. I do understand how family can make a mess just after your finish deep-cleaning. Glad the bookcases are in place and things are put away. I could use a few more bookcases but no place to put them - so some of the books are on the floor in front of one of them. Think it is time to move some of them to the shelves in the garage.

Hope everyone has a good day.

good morning - as Chris said it is soggy in NJ today. At least we have not had any thunderstorms yet but maybe this afternoon. Did my wellness swimming yesterday. These women are so nice it is like a party. It is the start of change in the NHL. Trades are happening, players are changing teams and some players are being bought out. So far my team has been pretty quiet. The draft is on Friday so that should be interesting. So I just spent a lot of time reading NHL related stories and some books.

Chris fan blade cleaning is hard. My DH does it for the one we have in the TV room. I hope you find some time for scrapping. And yes it is nice to have a son who does not mind grocery shopping.

Kay so glad you are feeling better! What books do you read again or you could read again and again. Now that summer is upon me I need a really good book. I like all kinds. I am waiting for the new Outlander book but from what I am seeing now until Dec.

Trudy congrats on the door prices. I bet your kids will love the bar crawl. I would gladly send you our rain.

Jean we now have your rain. We are sitting under a stationary front. Yippee. LOL

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... The best part of this time of year is that the house cools off during the night! It was another warm one yesterday, but I love sleeping with the bedroom window open and smelling the fresh air during the night! Up a bit earlier than usual, but had a great sleep! I will get to the pool a little later on this morning. I got my commissioned painting all finished with a coat of resin, but it did not dry very well and now I will have to sand it a bit and re-resin it :mmph: Just a few tiny air bubbles that I did not catch, but when the light is shining on the painting they stand out like sore thumbs!! So now I will have to wait until my brother gets home from Victoria today as he is picking up some more resin for me at Michaels. I can get it for 40% with a coupon so it will save me some $$'s at least. I love my brother!! So today I will try to work on the layout I started the other day and still trying to get my turtle finished. Other than that it should be a lazy day and I guess I will get a visit in with my brother and SIL this afternoon when they drop off the resin, so that will be nice!

Chris - I think that if you could invent a fan with non-stick coating on the blades that would be awesome!! They are no fun to clean for sure!! Sounds like you did a lot of purging of stuff that is no longer needed, so that is always a great thing! Hopefully you have a nice looking office area now with the bookshelves and lots of storage! Yay!! Good luck with the grocery shopping, I feel your pain, it is the worst job!! Ranks right up there with cleaning toilets LOL. Hope you manage to get the scrapping done and I have been a very absent Cheery O also, but did manage to do some commenting yesterday and hopefully a bit more today. You and I both need to get out the whip!! :whip: LOL

Kay - Glad to hear that your sore throat is feeling much better today! How great that you have done so much scrapping, wish I had half your mojo for getting pages done! Sure hope you will have nicer weather, seems like you have had your share of storms lately!

Ok better get my swim bag packed and get out the door, hope you all have a wonderful day!

Nancy - We cross posted. Hope that you and Luther can manage a walk sometime in between the raindrops. How fun that you have such a great group of ladies for your wellness swim! Yup, I think the kids would love the beer tasting too! Enjoy all the hockey reading today, it should be a good day to do it if the weather is still so soggy!

Nancy, I have been re-reading some of Nora Roberts' books..."Chasing Fire" and "Blue Smoke". I can re-read her books over and over again. Just finished re-reading The O'Malley series by Dee Henderson. She is another favorite author.

Trudy, sorry you have sand down are re-resin your commissioned piece. Glad your brother is helping out by stopping at the store for you. Yes, I love Micheal's $-off coupons.

I never got to the studio yesterday, instead getting caught up in looking into a line in DH's family where I may have found a missing thread. Fascinating anyway. Tomorrow is his birthday, and while we only celebrate with dinner out, I have made his card. I was sad I hadn't made his Valentine before I wound up in the hospital, so this time I made sure he'd get one of my cards. If you read the cartoon strip Garfield, you might notice his birthday is tomorrow also, fun to get a week of lead up to birthday in the comics.

Chris, hate imagining you stranded on the countertop at 9 months pg! Glad that isn't the case anymore. Also glad I don't have ceiling fans to clean. Hope you survive the grocery shopping and get to do some scrapping.

Kay, great that the throat feels OK and how nice to cool the house in the morning like that. The feeling of needing more bookshelves is a familiar one. These days we try to read library books or digital and not bring more into the house, but that doesn't always work. I used to re-read some books, but have too much backlog of genealogy reading to even think about it most of the time.

Nancy, sorry you've got the soggy weather. Right this minute it's sunny, but could rain any time and that for many days to come. That wellness swimming sure sounds nice. Guess this is a busy time in NHL with trading and the draft [accidentally posted this before I was done, but better than losing it!]

Trudy, the bubbles in the resin is just the kind of imperfection that would make you crazy. Cheers for brother helping out at Michaels. Hope you have an easy day with some scrapping and a nice visit.
