Good morning! Did everyone survive Monday ok? So far, so good for me, especially after food shopping:cheer2:
I was then able to get a little bit of house cleaning done- poor fur-babes are shedding like crazy. You can literally see an outline of fur of where my black lab lays on the floor. Then I did a bit of outside work- finally got the lines for the morning glories to climb up. And ended the afternoon with a walk with my friend.

Today I am off to clean and then-- not sure what. I would love to do some prom scrapping.

Tip on Tuesday:
Stay away from even BPA Free plastics
These Popular Plastic Bottles May Be Messing With Your Hormones
http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2014/06/bpa-free-plastics-tritan-nalgene-dangerous

B/c my cancer was estrogen positive, I have to be very careful of anything that mimics estrogen so when I saw this headline I had to read it. Obviously, any hormone disrupters are bad for anyone, so I wanted to share.

PS: Do you know how hard it is to find a glass pitcher with a lid to keep iced tea etc in the fridge? I am going to have to look on amazon b/c all of the B&M stores I have looked at don't have them.

Nancy- what an awesome family weekend! I love seeing Gary and the kids do stuff together, really warms your heart, doesn't it? Happy to hear that you found another sport, we wouldn't want you to go through withdrawal LOL
And that is seriously funny about the grill box. Usually it is me that freaks out that things can't fit, since I have zero spatial ability. Gary is the master packer and he was always the one who got the suitcases in the car for vacations.

Laurie-- sooo good to see you stop in, even if it is just a drive by!! Hugs!!!
Where are you off to next?

Phyllis- You are not boring! I love your wit. Will you have a working kitchen through the renovations? Hope so, b/c the alternative suck.

Sara- so sorry that you are feeling Blah. You have a lot going on. The vacation reschedule stinks but maybe it won't be as bad as you think? *hopeful*
Every once in a while I get that urge too- to clean out the crap- but then somehow it always goes away when I have the time to do it.

Hi Jean the Bird Lady! How did your talk go last night? Was it on genealogy or birding? Glad to hear that your knee is better too.

Hi Amy! Welcome to the Daily Ooos!!! Your hubby's father's day sounded like he had a blast!

Off to Bus Stop Run #1
xoxoxo!!!

good morning - it is finally hot! Maybe have a mini heat wave. Summer comes Saturday so finally the weather is right on the mark. Yesterday was awesome watching USA defeat Ghana. So fun to watch Clint Dempsey score so fast into the game but then to watch the USA just try to hold on was exhausting. Thank goodness that young kid was able to score off the corner kick. Got in a good walk. Much of the same today.

Chris I love glass pitchers and yes they are so hard to find. Hope you find time to scrap.

Phylis you are not boring. I agree with Chris you have one quick wit!

Sara glad you solved your vacation plans.

HI Amy and Laurie and Jean

Have a great day all!

Morning!

Nice slow day here. I ended up picking up a bit around the house yesterday, but didn't do anything more than that. I forgot that I had a meeting in the afternoon which sucked two hours away. Then I had class the rest of the afternoon/evening. Half of it was good - we had four presenters. The other half was stupid. I kid you not, we listened to the professor talk for an hour straight about her life. After the two classes I have taken from her, I'm going to know everything about her life. Unbelievable.

Weather in the area was bizarre, as I'm sure you've seen already. The double tornado in Pilger, a small town 100 miles northwest of us, was like nothing I've ever seen. Unofficially, two were killed and 16 (probably more now) critically injured. The two is decimated. With how much I'm scared of tornados, you'd think that I would move or something. Not much hits my city though. The combination of the "urban effect" and living by the big river and our neighborhood being next to a lake creates a lot of insulation. It's the smaller towns further west that tend to get him more. It might storm on Thursday too, but for the next two days, it's going to be sunny and super hot.

So we have nothing on the calendar today until a baseball game tonight. So we might go to the pool. I should go out and mow here in a little bit...before it gets too hot. Then the pool will feel extra good.

Chris - We went to these a long time ago and love them: http://www.kleankanteen.com/ Built used to make great neoprene sleeves for them too, but now I have buy them on eBay and what not. The slings on the website now stink. It sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I'm glad. I hope you get some prom scrapping in today!

Nancy - We must be sharing the same heat wave. LOL Enjoy the soccer. I'm not much of a sports watcher in general. Just occasionally, but it sounds like I should have watched the game last night. Everyone is talking about it.

Hi Phylis - Hope the kitchen is coming along.

Hi Jean - How did your talk go? Hopefully you felt good about it!

Hi Amy - Welcome to the ooo's! My husband would totally hate what your husband did on Father's Day. LOL He is not one for crowds. It sounds like it was a nice weekend for you. Glad it went well.

Ok. I suppose I should go mow the lawn. blech. It desperately needs to be done though. And I might as well do it now and then be ready to go swimming later. :) Have a good day ladies!

whew! Nancy, are you sure this is what you want?? it's 91 degrees here, and the cat and i are ROASTING. lots of fans on, but since the power company decides how much power we all get to use, fans on HI run at the speed of LOW on days like this. storms coming later, they say, so i'll have to shut windows, on top of all the heat. ah, well. summer in the city....

Chris, you know to stay COMPLETELY away from ANYTHING soy-related, don't you? that is a giant estrogen mimic. i use these bottles. heavy glass. the lids are BPA-free. expensive, but i really think they're worth it: http://www.amazon.com/Aquasana-AQ-6...1403028105&sr=8-2&keywords=glass+water+bottle if you get these, don't believe they can go in the dishwasher. you need an OXO bottle brush and should clean them with it and soap after every use.

Sara, i heard about that awful twin tornado tragedy in Kansas. terrible! i'm scared of the things, too. you'd think we never would have them where i live, but they're not uncommon here. i actually had a small one go right through my yard in the early '90s. we were out of town, TG, but the tree damage was considerable. don't you just hate it when you're TRAPPED in a class or meeting that is just a BIG waste of time?

not much getting done today except sitting in front of fans. i did a little weeding and walking this morning. now i'm trying to figure out how to make dinner without adding to the heat in here....

see ya. :becky:

I'm late getting here today. Slept so well last night that I didn't wake up until 30 minutes before I had to leave to take my sister to her audiologist! Turned out fine though and after we only stopped to look at patio furniture and buy more plants. She keeps getting more...

Last night the talk was genealogy and seems to have gone well. It was a small group in which about half are friends already. I usually have fun doing talks.

We've got the heat here too and I keep thinking the wind will become a storm but so far fine. And our downstairs is airy enough to not feel oppressive (as yet.)

Chris, hope your cleaning is in A/C! and sure hope you get time and energy to start the prom scrapping. Looking forward to it!

Phylis, our weather is usually pretty similar, so I enjoy your take on it.

Sara, have a great time swimming - probably need it after mowing.

Nancy, here we're all trying not to complain about heat after the winter we had, but we're not cheering either!

Just hope everyone survives the day! :bounce:
