It's the weekend that never ends. (It goes on and on, my friends...)
I am going to be totally lost for the rest of the week, it feels like a Sunday today. Scott was home early yesterday and that will throw me off. Tom came over last night since he and Cait are off today. Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of their engagement. Sheesh, that went by very quickly, right??

Yesterday was just a replay of the day before-- housework and food shopping orders in the morning. Yard work in the afternoon. It was seriously mucky out there, I couldn't tell which was wetter, the air or the dirt. LOL Best point of the day: Since Scott was home for dinner, Gary made his penne and vodka, and my goodness that is delish! We started putting together a Lego set that Scott got Gary for his b-day and so far, it's going well. *knocks wood that we don't press too hard on one Lego and crumble the entire thing*
Today will be a replay of the last 2 days. I have to tidy the kitchen (Gary is most definitely *not* a "clean as you cook" kinda guy. :D

Tip for Tuesday
This might be something you all know already but it's new to me. I was scrapping yesterday using a clipping mask and wanted the photo to have some texture. I added a Texture Layer Style to the mask and it worked. I didn't merge the mask/photo layers because I wasn't sure if that would take the layer style away but maybe rasterizing the mask layer would keep the texture before merging down?
HTH!

Love to you all!

@vickyday I hope that you and Mark are enjoying your vacation!

@bcgal00 Oh man, that is awful for Jen and so frustrating. If they had simply done that (physio referral) weeks ago, maybe --just maybe /s-- she would be able to walk without pain by now. Sending her good thoughts. I bet Remi would have a blast in the pool too-- is there anything

@Cherylndesigns Please don't ask me what day it is either, I'm as confuzzled as you :giggle4:
Gary is feeling a little bit better. (Stomach, not Lyme) The Dr didn't give him a special diet but told him to keep an eye on any trigger foods. I guess the inflammation just has to go away on its own. Thanks for asking:)

Good morning! Who would have thought that I'd finally make my way back?!

So both Syd and Shaun went to Tampa with me. What a treat that was!!! The two of them got along so well...I think that they must have missed each other when Syd was in Germany. I have a picture of Syd rolling on the floor with Shaun trying to get her foot in her shoe. Seriously, it was fantastic. First we went to a place called HotBins. They take back a bunch of Amazon things that they don't want to re-stock. Sydney got a spice rack for her apartment and we got a puzzle feeder for the dog. It's quite an experience...some of the boxes you don't even know what they are and you need to scan them. Everything is $10 and they go down $2 a day. But the kids enjoyed it.

Then we went to the Aquarium. It was a nice aquarium but it cost $45 per person (except I am a senior and it only cost $40 which made Sydney quite happy.) Then we stayed in a hotel downtown and walked along the river in the evening. I like Tampa's downtown but it was hot and we didn't stay out long. Sunday morning we drove over to Clearwater Beach. That was an experience...it is lined with blue umbrellas. Then both kids slept while I drove the 3 1/2 hours home.

It really was a great time but I'm so far behind on everything. The guy is still working on our house...should be done by the end of the week I'm sure. And I'm so glad that we built the office. But boy is it taking a long time. I don't think that we have anything planned for tonight. It's really hot right now and I think we will mainly stay inside. Syd is still trying to get through her room so I will probably help today.

Now I need to go catch up on what is going on!

@faerywings I am so glad that Gary's diagnosis was diverticulitis instead of cancer. But I know that diverticulitis is really awful so I hope that he can get back to some kind of regular diet and feeling well soon. I completely get what you are saying about the fireworks. Fourth of July was a huge event in my hometown...started with a parade. We would watch it with my folks and my brother's family then we would hang out at Mom and Dad's most of the day with the kids swimming and everyone making food. I sure miss that...but I'm glad that it really is an extra day to rest and get things done around the house. My Cheery-O duties have really taken a hit...I'm sorry and I promise I will do better in July.

@vickyday a mountain vacation sounds just right. And I'm so glad that they got the freezer delivered. Being dependent on Mark to get the outlet changed out is much more reliable than being dependent on a big box store. Enjoy every moment of your time off!

@bcgal00 I am so sorry about Jen's knee but glad that they finally did something about it. Five hours is a long time at the hospital. I admit that I wouldn't like that part of your area. Hope that the swim was good. I do miss that just a bit.

@taxed4ever I love all of the kayaking that you are doing. It would have been fun to watch the Olympic rowers for sure. Hope the gardening went well.

Ok...not really caught up but I'm off to the grocery store. We really have no groceries. And that is not a good look around here. :furious:is kind of what people are beginning to act like when they go to the pantry or the refrigerator....

Well, I couldn't figure out how to start typing after I inserted the Bitmoji above since I'm using my phone.
Anywho...
We would've gotten pretty wet on the bike yesterday when we got here. And the temperature was 20+ degrees cooler (60s).
As it turns out, unbeknownst to me, I chose a ski resort area for our getaway. No AC in the condo. But we didn't need it. Mark had brought the fan from our bedroom along since we drove. We opened the balcony door and the kitchen window and pulled air in from the mountains and it took the stuffiness right away.
We went out to eat supper at the brick oven pizza place, taking the long way around to check out a few places. By the time we got down the mountain following the switch back road I was too sick to think about eating! I've only gotten motion sickness one other time in my life! Not a pleasant feeling. What happened to the days when I could spend all day riding rollercoasters??!!
So, the pizza got pushed back to today. We went to the grocery store to pick up some stuff and came back to the condo and played games.
Last night was a toss and turn night in a strange bed, so hopefully tonight I will sleep better.
I'm hoping we see some fireworks tonight after we get back from the Bible Camp service tonight, but it's an hour away so I'm thinking it might be too late. Not a big deal but I was hoping to get some cool pictures!
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I am watching the news and am sick about the port strike. I don't understand how the government lets the union take control of our economy the way it has, that mediation doesn't have to be accepted. They say the strike will have long repercussions for the economy, WTH? We are in a recession and now this will dangerously affect our goods and services for months and months to come, making it worse. They make over $125,000/yr with benefits and other perks. I know some would argue with me about this but I am sick about it. I see people here everyday that can't afford the food they need. They say perishables at the port will be destroyed. Our interior stores will not get goods to restock shelves. I am just disgusted. More and more I am growing to hate living in Canada. So...this is why I hate watching the news. It is so depressing.

Jen is making her physio appt today and then hopefully the knee clinic will call her someday for an appt but possibly not b/c services her are almost non-existent but fingers crossed. So I am going to refill my coffee, get outside with Remi, go drop off stuff at value village later land then come home to hop in the pool.

@faerywings Good for you for trying something new. I don't think I have heard of a texture style before. I've used brushes to add and subtract from a mask but not that. Interesting. I'll have to google that.

@LSlycord Sounds like wonderful family time.

@vickyday Hope today is a better day.

I'm going to get dressed and go scrap. I cannot stay in the LR and watch the morning news anymore. Time to go do something fun. HAGD everyone.

Happy 4th of July to my American friends! Big doins' at the compound today. Poolin, food, all the other goodies. Adrienne told me they weren't going to do anything big this year but Roger's such a big kid that he must have over-ridden her. He'll be shooting off fireworks and throwing firecrackers like the kid that he is. He always makes his grand entrance by cannon balling into the pool or doing some kind of crazy somersault.

Kinleigh doesn't leave until Saturday, so we have here for a few more days. Her poor mom, when she gets home - she's been quite the little princess out here. She will definitely want to come out every summer!

Chris @faerywings I knew YOU would get my confuzzled day thing - you're just as bad as I am. I think it's Tuesday - yep it's Tuesday. Had to look. It IS the weekend that never ends, that's a good description. I'm so glad to hear that Gary's feeling better and good idea to write down the triggers. You guys fix the yummiest sounding things - we're so boring in our eating. LOL

Linda @LSlycord so good to see you in here - sounds like you and the kids had a ball. The rolling around on the floor sounds like my grandkids - always wrestling around. Glad you all got to spend some quality time together. Yes, the compound is buzzing as it is most of the time. Lots of comings and goings. Kinleigh is here until Saturday so more fun to be had with her.

Vicky @vickyday LOVE your Bitmoji parade entry!

Hugs to all and have a happy and safe day if you're doing anything. I need to get off of here and get a few things done. I'll be going up to Adrienne's in a couple of hours and might get a chance to pop back in here this evening. We always watch the Macey's fireworks - Chuck is going to find out what time that starts. Probably around nine. It's tradition.

XOXO

Good very late morning everyone!! I was up at 6am and on the lake at 6:30am. Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends!! I might be moving to the States if things keep up the way that they are going here in Canada!! I am right there with you @bcgal00 about this stupid strike!! We should pack our bags and move to a different Country!!! Canada is going to Hell in a Handbasket!! Ok no more ranting :soapbox:. I am here to let you all know that I am going to MIA from today until the end of August at least. With the kids coming home and me trying to get meals prepared and in the freezer and now trying to organize Gary's Mom and Dad's 70th wedding Anniversary at the beginning of August, well I just don't have enough hours in the day. Jason wants me to make him some t-shirts, Mason wants me to get his painting done I have a baby gift to get ready for a baby shower at the end of July and I have to get a card made for the 70th anniversary. I seem to be going in ten different directions all at once. So this morning's Kayak was a bit of therapy for me and some alone time. I don't seem to be able to handle stress very well anymore LOL. I will pop in from time to time and will continue to get the coupons to the challenge winners, but that's about it. Sorry I don't want to be a party pooper, but somethings gotta give and unfortunately being here is one of those things. I will miss seeing you all and reading about your days, but I will return and hopefully will have lots to share with you! Maybe my mojo will return by then also. So I will get my one layout posted for the is month and then get busy with all the other things that I have to get done. Please know that I will think of you all everyday!!:waving2: I hope that you all have an amazing summer!! See you in 2 months!! :bye2:

Enjoying the view while Mark catches a few winks! I know it's hard to see, but Oscraps is on my computer screen, of course! Mark's nap gave me permission ;)
