Happy 4th of July to my American friends!
This year, I feel so conflicted about it. Not that the USA is a bad thing or place, but it breaks my heart to see what I consider to be American values and adherence to our Constitution being lost along the way recently.
OTOH, I feel much more connected and civic-minded. I remember how I read (yell-spoke, to be honest) the Bill of Rights to my kids after the PATRIOT Act was reauthorized. My kids still tell me how much that affected them and not in Scary-Mom way. :loco:

It is also a nice day for people to get together for BBQs and parades. The fireworks I could live without at this point in my life. They only wake me up and freak out the dogs.

I felt a bit better again yesterday which is a good thing. I went food shopping and yikes, it was a madhouse by 9 am. I kept thinking of Phyllis, all of the men with carts blocking the aisles.*grumble* Cait and I took Little Clove to the vet and her surgery is scheduled for the 17th. The vet said 95% of these types of tumors are benign and this one is small and not attached to anything so it should be a very quick and easy surgery. Still stressful to think of a 7 oz little animal having to go through that. I know that Cait is going to be a wreck that day. She was so happy that I came with her and discussed the options. The vet said that it was possible to do a wait and see but that only makes it a harder surgery at that point. Clover is only 13 months so she is still young and she is very active and healthy. Makes sense to do it now.

My parents are coming here for bagels. They are in PA and miss the kids. My brother texted me and they are coming up on Saturday. I miss my little guy so much!!! Christopher had my brother text me pictures of him smiling about it. *heart melts*

The weather is supposed to be nice and I am planning on getting outside for a little bit as well.

Have a super day!!!

Tip on Tuesday:
Don't assume that the day before 4th of July will be quiet at the grocery store.

Nancy- you are not old! And neither am I in spite of all of the aches and pains :pound:
I had sciatica during one of my pregnancies, I think it was Scott. It still acts up here and there. Is there anything the Drs can do for it other than anti-inflammatories and tell you to rest?
Hope it is better today.
Did your DH have any better luck at the store than I did?

Rae- I have to say that it always makes me laugh when you say that you crawl into bed at 11. I have already been asleep for 2 hours by then. hahaha!!! Glad that you made it home with no traffic. I can't wait to see the pics of Jen and Taz swimming!
I would come and garden for you and anyone in a heartbeat. Because I had been so sick last week, Gary has been trying to get me to stop that, but he doesn't get it. Even if I am just scooting along on my bench, pulling weeds or deadheading flowers, it keeps me sane!

Sharon, hope you are well.

Love to all of you!!
Trudy-- any news on the baby? Any contractions??

good morning - I am better but no way near able to walk Luther and it is driving me crazy. I won't be able to go to fireworks and that makes me angry. I love fireworks and so far Luther has shown no signs of being bothered by any. But today will be the close ones so we will find out. The doctor just gave me a stronger anti-inflammatory drug so we will see I have just take the first. There is not much else beside rest. I am on the last Nevada Barr novel so I will have to find a new author. I am watching tennis and biking so that is fun.

Chris so glad that you are feeling better. And yes while we are not old we have too many aches! And since I plan to live to 100 (LOL) I don't want pain now. Hoping as medicine advances we will do better. Have fun in the dirt. Glad that the vet had positive news for Cait.

Rae I will be looking for the page with Jen and Taz swimming. That must have been such fun for the two of them to be in there playing! Glad you made it home before the crowds.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Got my gardening done yesterday morning, watched the last 3 episodes of Pretty Little Liars. I had been watching that for all 7 seasons and was interested to see how they wrapped it up. It was fun. It was one of my fave scrapping shows as I could listen and sorta watch but didn't have to concentrate too hard on it as I scrapped.

Today I need to go pay property taxes at lunchtime and then back to work. I think Taz will sleep a lot today. He was out quite a bit over the wkend and this is like his Monday rest day :)

Chris - glad you are feeling better. Enjoy the family visit and good to hear little Clover will get surgery and should be ok. I just love that recent LO you posted BTW. I want to show it to Bailey. She is interested (I know I've mentioned it before) in getting a few rat pets and she is going to love that page.

Nancy - hope the new anti-inflammatories help. I know how you feel, getting older, it's easier to injure and takes longer to recover. Ugh. All we can do is be as active as we can and just keep going. I know I sure don't have the strength, stamina or flexibility I had 10 years ago. It sucks but that's life, not much we can do :)

I'm getting to work now. Taz is snoring at my feet and will probably spend all morning there LOL. Have a great day, everyone.

Good afternoon Ozzies! Hope it is a happy Independence Day for Americans. Sorry I missed wishing Canadians a happy 150th on Saturday. And, Chris, a very belated Happy Birthday!

Last week was a genealogy class in Pittsburgh with planning and more before and trying to get real since. It was super though.

Hope it's a good day for everyone!
