Happy 4th of July to my American friends!
This year, I feel so conflicted about it. Not that the USA is a bad thing or place, but it breaks my heart to see what I consider to be American values and adherence to our Constitution being lost along the way recently.
OTOH, I feel much more connected and civic-minded. I remember how I read (yell-spoke, to be honest) the Bill of Rights to my kids after the PATRIOT Act was reauthorized. My kids still tell me how much that affected them and not in Scary-Mom way. :loco:
It is also a nice day for people to get together for BBQs and parades. The fireworks I could live without at this point in my life. They only wake me up and freak out the dogs.
I felt a bit better again yesterday which is a good thing. I went food shopping and yikes, it was a madhouse by 9 am. I kept thinking of Phyllis, all of the men with carts blocking the aisles.*grumble* Cait and I took Little Clove to the vet and her surgery is scheduled for the 17th. The vet said 95% of these types of tumors are benign and this one is small and not attached to anything so it should be a very quick and easy surgery. Still stressful to think of a 7 oz little animal having to go through that. I know that Cait is going to be a wreck that day. She was so happy that I came with her and discussed the options. The vet said that it was possible to do a wait and see but that only makes it a harder surgery at that point. Clover is only 13 months so she is still young and she is very active and healthy. Makes sense to do it now.
My parents are coming here for bagels. They are in PA and miss the kids. My brother texted me and they are coming up on Saturday. I miss my little guy so much!!! Christopher had my brother text me pictures of him smiling about it. *heart melts*
The weather is supposed to be nice and I am planning on getting outside for a little bit as well.
Have a super day!!!
Tip on Tuesday:
Don't assume that the day before 4th of July will be quiet at the grocery store.
