CHEERY O
Hi hi hiiiii! I know I am late this morning. I don't have to be at work until 10 and I just did not want to get out of bed and all I wanted was my :tea: when i did get up.

Soooo, how is everyone doing today? I hope everyone is wonderful! Sunny and hot here. After work, I am taking Cait and 3 of her friends to the lake for the afternoon. <~ this is what summer is about!

Yesterday at the lake was kind of scary from a mom's POV. Cait was surround by boys. 1. She has a boyfriend. 2. Some kid was hanging out trying to talk to her, had a mutual guy friend try to get them together and then he asked her out before we left. 3. A guy that she is just friends with was also there. He came over here last week for dinner and to hang out with Cait, and it turned out he liked her but didn';t know she was going out with Jake until Scott blurted it out at the dinner table.
Young summer love?!?!????? Gah!!! :hurt:

And to top it all off, she is oblivious to the fact that she is gorgeous and fun and sweet (occasionally).

I am doomed....... :faint:

Other than that, some old same old here.

Have a wonderful and fab day!!!

xoxo

morning O fam!

I slept in and did not get my walk in. I have work today and then two days off. Not sure what I will fill them with.

Morning Peeps!

Hope those of you affected by the vicious derecho have your power back by now. So many near us don't. As our street is on the local police station grid, we keep power 99.9% of the time others don't. While we bought a generator some time back - I told Dick his life would be living hell if I had to live through a hot and humid night - we have never needed it. Sunday, my grandson drove over from VA to get it while the rest of the family decamped Marriott style. He was the resident dogsitter this time.

I have barely done any scrapping lately, still having the sore ankle which feels much better elevated and resting. So...I am watching "Brothers and Sisters" via Netflix and staying on the couch. I see the podiatrist Thursday and may get a cortisone shot. The rest has helped a lot though

Talk with y'all later.

Hi Laurie- wasn't sure I was going to see you this morning since I posted so late. Hope that you can get a short walk in at some point today. Now that the weather is nicer, I have been doing the park as far away as possible and get extra steps that way.
Enjoy your time off and fill it with scrapping and hot tubbing with YMG (just my 2 cents!)
How are you doing with missing your doggy? Its so hard to come home to a quiet house :( Thinking of you~~

Linda S- cooling breezes to you too!
I am the same way with food- nothing ever strikes me any more. Hope you found some time to breathe in that crazy schedule of yours. Seriously, woman, I do not know how you do it! One good thing is that all of that activity means lots of time behind the camera lens, right?

Phyllis- yay to exclamation points and smiley faces for having lunch with friends!

Donna- did you and DH get lots done yesterday? Stay cool!

Oh Bah humbug Trudy! YMG is home today too? I know, that means you don't get to have the house to yourself which is pure heaven if you ask me! Did you catch a movie? What did you see, if you did? I am so far lost on movies, have no idea what is even out there except Magic Mike. Why is it that *the* book and movie of the summer are all about sex? (M Mike and 50 Shades) I sound like an old fart!

Oh well, what can you do, right?

Fran- thanks for checking in, I was wondering the other day how you were doing. Lots of hugs and good thoughts. Hope that scrapping might help to ease your losses. :(

::grouphug

Maureen!! I was wondering if you were back yet. Awesome news about not losing power. Hope that the rest of your family is holding up ok.
Good to see ya here in the Ooo's!

Good morning ladies. The jello cakes are finished and in the refrigerator, waiting for us to take them to the shelter tonight. Lunches are packed for daycare. Another hot one here today...

Got to see a gorgeous sunset while we were at baseball last night, followed by a full moon. And, as we were driving to the game last night, I saw a skunk dart across the road in front of us. Then, Shaun shouts out, "Look at the baby skunks." I would have loved a photo but didn't think it was prudent to stop the car on a two lane highway and go back and challenge the mama skunk while taking photos of her babies. But on the drive home, all Shaun could talk about was how he hoped the babies "survived" and wonder what kind of mama would let her babies cross the road alone. That kid cracks me up!

Have a good day all and I will check back in tonight when I get home!

good call Lionda on not stopping the car although the photos would have been awesome! Good kids you have! LOL

Morning everyone.... Is it ever going to stop :rain: here??? enough already!! I am almost ready to start building the ARK!! I want some summer weather!!!! :hurt:
Can't stay here too long as company is coming this morning for coffee and I have a coffee cake to get into the oven. I really hope to get something scrapped today on my day off, but its not looking to promising so far. MG has promised to stay out of my way, but wants us to have a date night tonight and go into the city for supper and a movie. How can I say no??

Chris - Yikes on all the guys hanging around your little girl!! Glad you will be at the lake with them this afternoon, you will have to keep a close eye on all those boys!!
Not sure what movie we will see tonight, perhaps the new Spiderman movie. My daughter and SIL want to see Magic Mike when my DD comes out so we will have a girls night at the movies, should be fun!

Laurie - Don't you just hate it when you sleep in?? It ruins your whole day and throws everything out of whack! Hope you get a nice long walk in tomorrow!

Maureen - Sorry that your foot is still bothering you, but at least you get to watch Netflix while you keep cool in your house. Nice that your power does not go out like everyone else! I keep telling my MG that we need a generator, but so far we have never really needed one.

LindaS- Cute story about the skunks, could you imagine if you stopped to take pictures and momma skunk sprayed all of you?? Ewwwww!!

Kristy - Sounds like you are busy, busy, busy!! Thats ok that you are not here that often, its summer and you are supposed to enjoy the summertime doing things with your girls!!

Well I better get the house tidy and start that coffee cake. Have a wonderful day everyone

Just a quick drop-in to let you know I'm thinking about all of you - especially those who are suffering thru the various summer storms/fires/floods.....

We have rain! - the wettest June on record - but after seeing the horrors happening in US and rest of Canada won't complain (too much) about the rain :)

I don't get out to the forums much - being behind scenes in the Gallery - but it is pretty quiet there now so will try an participate out front more.....

Lotsa hugs
j

hiya. i did my grocery shopping really early this morning, and i don't think i will ever try that again. the place was OUT of half of their products. so that made me cranky, because i'll have to go back later this week to find half of the stuff i went there for.

Chris, scary boys, but just be glad! imagine what it would be like if no one looked at your daughter! that would be a whole different set of challenges.

Kristy, i wish i could lose the weight you did! it really does get harder as you get older. add that to the fact that i seem to eat a lot, even with my wacky diet, and i doubt i'll ever see 140 again! let alone 130, which is what i'm supposed to weigh!

Laurie, glad you got to sleep in! that seems a good thing, even though you missed your walk!

Trudy and Jacqueline, i'm envying your rain and cool temps. i keep wondering when my well is going to fizzle out. we're in for many days in a row of 90 degree temps, which is SOO rare around here.

Linda, i loved your son's comment about the skunks crossing the road! out of the mouths of babes! always so good for a grin.

Maureen, hope your foot gets better soon! also hope you keep your power. i couldn't even imagine being without AC in this weather. i would be living in our basement (with the spiders...) where it's always pretty cool.

hope your Tuesday is stellar!
