I love the "O"
Hi my Ozies

just want to say hi, before going shopping. I need a few things from the drugstore and go the mall (where of course are also other stores:eyebrows:). Wanted to go with my daughter , but she do not want. She hates shopping, don´t know why. She always comes out with full bags, this can´t be the reason.

Chris: 88 ibs are nearyl 40 kg ? this is really skinny. She has the same age like my daughter I think, and she has a loooot more. But my daughter has to lose about 5 kg. I hope she get a healthy weight and also she feels good .

I have a question to all the amercian:
Do you do couponing ? I watched always the TV series about couponing and was fascinated how a 800 $ purchase can be free. Is this really true ?

have a nice day !

good morning Astrid!
Hope that your shopping trip went well. We have opposite problems. I despise shopping and Cait loves it. I am sure she would have gone to the mall with you :D

Yes, she is too skinny, but we have been talking and pinky-promised each other we wouldn't trash talk ourselves. I have a bad habit of saying stuff like, I don't want to eat something b/c I don't want to get fat. Bad, bad bad example for her. So we are going to be each others support system.

Couponing is popular here, but most stores won't let you do what you see on TV. My grocery store has a limit of 4 identical coupons per day, per household. I do a lot with coupons and can save on average about $70 a shopping trip, and will pay about $125 for a week's worth of groceries. My motto is that I don't buy it, unless it is on sale and I have a coupon. It doesn't always work out, but I do my best.

Nancy- ahhh!! Ouch on the vein! Thank goodness I have good veins with all of the blood I have drawn. Hope that you didn't bruise.
What a day your DS must have had.:( You rock for handling it so well, I probably would have yelled back and made it worse.
Would you believe that her boss won't let her grab a slice of pizza for dinner? Last week, she worked from 4pm to 11pm and he wouldn't let her have one and she refused to buy one out of principle.

Shar- I wouldn't want pickles on anything either. And my mom-- still asks me just about every time if I want ketchup on my scrambled eggs. I don't eat ketchup on *anything+ it is the same thing-- after 47 years you think she would remember LOL
Any news on the doll? I hope it gets straightened out for you. Can you contact Ebay/Paypal to file a complaint so you don't get stuck?

Jean- you know that you don't have to write anything here :) Just say Hi and then click on all of the smilies! hahah!!
Thank you for the sweet words on my LO's!! I scrapped a few for Aug Challenges that I *really* like!

Trudy- sounds like you are having a wonderful time with the fam!! So happy for you!

Gotta get into the shower, so I will be all ready to pick up my Jaida this morning!!!!

good morning - Yesterday was HHH but fortunately I got to the mall and got the present with no problem. Then because I knew it was going to be hot just walked around. It was good because I got a good rub for my dinner last night of grilled steak and corn. And I also got my girlfriend's daughter some Pandora's charms for graduation and her first job as a second grade teacher. So turned out really well. Came home and took it easy during the heat of the day. Grilled and it was so nice to do cooking outside and not heat up the house. Then took a walk in the evening. Saw two doe and two fawns. So cute. Came home and turned on baseball and watched the Yankees defeat the Texas Rangers 21-5. The Yankees were down 5-0 at the end of the first inning and then scored 21 runs to none for the Rangers. It was pretty amazing. Of course I always worry that they used up all the runs in that one game and will have nothing left. Today is another take it easy in the heat of the day!

Chris I am sure that Jaida is going to be needing some loving. My son at first said his two dogs just wanted to sleep. And no I can't believe the owner of the pizza place does not allow them to eat a slice. Shame on him. Glad that you have each other for support. It is hard in our society to avoid seeing body slamming. Have a good day!

Sharon and Chris and Jean thanks so much for understanding and now I feel better that most people don't remember.

Anika most I think do coupon but I am lazy and I don't. Most of the stuff I don't use so it does not make a lot of sense to me. But I do use the store discount so I save around 10-12 dollars each time I shop.

Sharon can't believe you still have not gotten the doll. Hope she comes soon.

Hey Trudy so good to hear you are having a great summer. Have fun swimming and site seeing!

Have a great day all!

Mornin' all. Just back from the pool. The lifeguard noticed that I stayed a long time today. "Yes! It takes longer to do TWENTY-FIVE laps!" I would love to eventually build up to 36 laps (which equals a mile), but am not going to rush it.

Astrid, my DH does the grocery shopping, but when I used to do it, I clipped the coupons, but always forgot to take them with me, or pull them out when I got to the register. What you're seeing on TV is NOT reality for most people. It becomes a full time job to do that sort of thing, and most stores don't honor the coupons the way they show it on TV.

Chris, hope Jaida is doing well. I, too, am aghast that Cait's boss won't let her eat a slice of pizza. GOOD GRIEF! Like an 88-lb. girl is going to make the difference between profit and loss for him!

I LOATHE shopping. Only go to a mall if it is the only place I can get something. LOVE the internet for shopping. Except right now. Still no doll, and I have to wait until Friday before eBay will pursue the seller. This is horrible. DD has already bought Avery the book that goes with this doll.

Nancy, sounds like you had a GREAT day at the mall! We too, grill outdoors as much as possible in the summer. And one of the best parts of summer is the fresh corn. Our local corn isn't quite ripe yet, but when it is we sort of gorge on it for several weeks.

Tonight is the Big Artsy Gals Plus Husbands party at our house. Well, not REALLY big...just 8 of us. The house is clean, the potato salad is made, and the fish only takes a few minutes to prepare. Still have to chop up sweet peppers for grilling (with asparagus, onion, mushrooms, and yellow zucchini), but won't do that till later. Everyone is coming at 4. One of the men still works, and has to get up VERY early, so it will be an early evening unless the others stay later. Perfect weather...a little hot, but our back yard is in the shade by mid afternoon, so it will be wonderful.

I am actually caught up on scrapping my June/July photos. Good thing DS will be posting more photos soon (they are in Sun River Oregon this week)! New challenges will begin in less than a week. =:O Can't believe how fast this year is going.

It getting hot again today but so far OK. Saw my sister briefly yesterday and though she's doing fine mostly, she really isn't quite up to speed. Need to find a way to help with some things.

Chris, good thoughts for Jaida (and you) but she should be fine soon. And then fewer worries.

Nancy, sounds like you had good ways to conquer the heat! I hate to shop, but that sounds fun.

Astrid, coupons are a mixed story. My DH and his brother won't use them. My sister though insists on it even when the store brand may be less than the fancy brand with a coupon. We do have a store card that gives us a discount on some items.

Sharron, your group today sounds interesting and the food yummy! I know you'll have a great time. Sure hope the doll gets sorted out quick!

Have a great day everyone!

thanks for sharing your stories about couponing with me. Good to know that it isn´t as easy as shown on TV.
