Good morning! Whew, I feel like I am over the hump of the depressive mood I was in. Not 100% but baby steps are much better than no steps at all. I guess this is going to happen on and off and the faster I recognize and deal with it, the sooner I will be back to "normal." Whatever normal is.

It was too hot to be outside for any length of time. I was out with dogs and a bit of patio clean up and I was a sweaty mess. It was the kind of day I would have spent at the beach in previous years. Not to mention I had plenty of things to deal with inside. My computer is still locking up so Gary changed one of the sleep settings. I also heard back from ACDSee and I got a download link to the old version of it. It said that Version 20 has known issues with Windows 10 (probably why it would shut down on me all of the time). It is only $30 for the newest version and I got money from my ILs for my birthday. Gary told me that I should just buy it. I have a very hard time spending money on myself. :decision:

We ended up the day with some drinks and Cards Against Humanity. I think laughing helped boost my mood too. Scott joked the he hadn't seen me smile in 8 days. Felt like it! I spoke to my mom and dad and she is feeling so much better- she already lost over 2 lbs of fluid.
I am off to pick up groceries this morning, then Cait and I are braving the attic to bring down her small Christams Tree. It is Christmas Eve! I hope that Santa has a bathing suit to wear down from the North Pole tonight. OTOH, the Arctic has been pretty darn hot too so he might catch a breeze on his sleigh.

HAGD!!

Trudy- What a fab day you had at the lake. I am sorry that MIL was in too much pain to enjoy the water. When I was in constant Lyme pain, being in the water helped a lot.
I bet you feel like you have done enough sanding to last a lifetime. Are you changing the color of the steps or just freshening up?
What is a Survival Suit?? And why would you go on a boat that makes you need one??? Yikes! :D I think it is smart to go on the larger boat too, more room to spread out. I can't wai tto hear about it afterward.
Gary thinks he might have some sort of gluten allergy/intolerance. He tried the low/no-carb diet last year and had no luck which is why he is trying to cut out all gluten for a bit.
Stay cool and don't let your Gary :whip: to much!

Nancy- How many seasons are in Longmire, 4 I think? We had to wait for the new ones to be released on Netflix so I have no idea anymore. I hope that Outlander gets on Netflix soon too.
How is your DH doing getting prepped for Fall Semester? Cait's tuition payment was due Aug 2 but they pushed it to Sept 2. I guess they need the extra time for people to decide what they want to do. My nephew goes back in 2 weeks to Pitt.
I hope Luther is enjoying the AC!

I saw that too, that 13 players have tested positive the Marlins and a NFL Coach has as well. Ugh.

Jean- are you and DH (why can't I ever remember his name????? :( I keep thinking Bill, but that is Kay's hubby's name) holding up in the heat?
Ha. I totally relate to the rut about dinner. It doesn't help that no one is interested in eating much anymore. Variety/mood- everything seems blah.
That makes me so happy when the O and "real life" intersect like that-- Is Louise Penny an author you think I might like? Right now I am reading Shanghai Girls and it is so sad. At least where I am now.

Felis- Of course guys would want to date you and flirt with you! And it isn't because the bars were closed ;) I am happy that you are taking time to reflect on what *you* want and what is best for you. I couldn't imagine at this point in time that you would move away.
Thank you for the suggestion for YouTube and FB groups. I started out by telling him that he was in charge of putting food on a shopping list that is on the store website and then I would add it to the cart and he was in charge of preparing it all. He added 4 things and 2 were bread.
He has been good cooking his dinners, last night he made a stuffed pepper with rice and other veggies. Timing of stove/oven use is going to be key here since my kitchen is so tiny!
Give pets to all of the cats and dogs today from me!

Happy Tuesday?? Is it Tuesday?? Gotta look at the calendar, yup its Tuesday! LOL. It was a scorcher of a day yesterday and we waited until the stairs were in the shade to start the sanding. Worked on them for a couple of hours and then we were done, it was just too warm. So we changed and went for a drive with the AC on and got the stain etc. that we needed. Today we will look at getting the whale watching tour booked, but hopefully it won't be so warm when we do go. Had a nice face time with everyone in Ottawa and Jackie our DIL sent us videos of everyone in the pool. You should see Hunter, jumps off the diving board, no fear at all wearing his puddle jumper and swimming to his Mommy who is on a floaty. Poor Mason keeps getting water in his ears and he hates that, but I am sure he has fun with everyone in the pool too! It was stinking hot in Ottawa yesterday too, but we do not get the humidity like they do thank goodness! I need to catch up with a few things here at the O today and then the rest of my day will be helping DH out with whatever he is doing today LOL.

Chris - I am happy to hear that you are starting to feel a bit less depressed! I bet the laughter of playing the card against humanity helped you out a lot! Along with the great news that your Mom is doing so much better too! That is awesome! My Gary and I are staining the front porch steps the same colour as they were. Last year we did them when it was too warm and the stain started to bubble in the heat. When the kids were here for a visit, they decided that peeling away all those bubbles might be fun, so then it has looked like a hot mess every since LOL. So this time we will do it right and wait until the heat wave is over before actually staining them again. That's too bad that Gary did not have much luck with the low carb diet, but hopefully he can get some relief for his tummy with the gluten free option! A survival suit is full flotation type of suit in case you end up in the water it keeps you a float along with keeping your body temp warm in the freezing water. We will most likely go on the other tour in the bigger boat LOL.

Felis - I totally agree with Chris!! Of course guys would want to flirt with you and want to date you!! Good heavens girl, you are so pretty!! I hope that you get some cooler wet weather like your friends are experiencing soon! Yes it is good to bring into your life what you are hoping for and for where you are in your life right now! It will happen, just try to let it be!! I will of course be taking many photos of our Whale Watching tour, sure hope we get to see lots of them!

Nancy - Lucky you to have been Whale Watching three times!! We have lived so close to them and have never been once LOL. Its like people who live near Disneyland and have never been to it :loco: Sure hope that the hockey goes well and everyone behaves themselves, DH is very excited to see the first game today!

Jean - Ugh on the Hot humid weather! Hope that you can find something more exciting to eat on your shopping trip! Enjoy your books, sounds like they are good ones!

Ok DH and I are heading out to the deck for another coffee, have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies.

Chris - G might not necessarily be gluten intolerant but if he has an inflamed gut (leaky gut syndrome), the combination of multiple inflammatory foods can cause damage. It took awhile (not sure how many wks) of cutting out inflammatory foods (sugar, wheat, veg oil, lunch meat/processed meats), taking probiotics and eating yogurt every day. I stuck with a keto/paleo diet for a long time but eventually I was able to start cycling (more of a trim healthy mama type of meal plan) where I eat low carb most meals but now have about 3-4 meals a week of higher carbs but still avoid wheat except for small amounts if sprouted, no white sugar/rice but a small amount of wild or brown rice and eat yogurt at least 3 times a week. If I overdo it I start to get stomach pains and headaches. This may not be what is happening with him but worth looking into.

Today is Jen's b-day so I'm making GF tacos for her and will make GF brownie later and pick up a low carb ice cream. We still won't go into any restaurants so staying home is ok with us. 3 restaurants in our neighborhood tested positive last wk so that just re-enforces our decision.

Trudy - whale watching would be fun, I've never gone.

I need to get to work but wanted to pop in to say hi. BFN

Good morning (well it's just a little past). Chris, glad your mom is doing better and it sounds like you are too - good news!

I'm a little behind with all of your news, ladies, but it sounds like everybody is busy and doing well.

I need to see what I need to do to wrap up July - I got a layout done for Momma O's Mini O kit (Day In The Life) yesterday - I know I was a little late. Got lots to do but don't feel (mentally) like doing anything. I don't think I can sit at my computer all day - but maybe I can. LOL

Have a good one everybody.
