:spinningchair: :spinningchair::spinningchair: <~ me and my brain

I guess it's better than my brain being an egg in a frying pan. Is everything visualizing the "brain on drugs commercials?" That's what I was going for, minus the drugs. All I know is that my brain (cannot seem to spell that correctly, I keep typing brian) doesn't want to work. I know. What else is new? *shrugs* LOL

How was your Monday? We are still trying to dry out here but we are not as bad as the areas west of me. I went to the basement to get a fresh pair of gardening gloves, saw the water blocking my way, and said "Nope, the gloves that are damp from the rain will work just fine." The rain is making the flowers and plants grow like mad. I should take a photo of my tomatoes to show you. I have three plants and they are ginormous. I got small tomato varieties and have been pruning the tops of the plants and they are *still* massive. The bees are all over my front garden and I can watch them forever. I have bee balm and coneflowers and they *love* them. So adorable watching them grab the petals and get gobs of pollen on their feet. One of my milkweed plants is blooming and the butterflies are starting to gather. There is a small offshoot of that big one that I want to transplant since it is hidden under the tall one. I had no idea how big they can get. This little guy is only 6" or so and the other has to be close to 3'

I was so dang happy being back in my yard again yesterday even though it was disgustingly humid again. I was sweating so much it looked like I peed my pants :giggle4:

Scott told us a quick rundown of his search. Four hikers had started back down the mountain as the sun was going down and got themselves turned around. When they realized that they were back where they started they were smart enough to stay put and call for help. Scott said that by his team got to them, they were pretty freaked out. I think he was relieved that his first S&R was an easy one. In fact, I know he was. He and Sam are up in PA for a few days. He is going to mow the lawn for my dad since that was one of the reasons my dad was up there last week. To mow the lawn. In 88*/90% humidity weather. At 84 years old. Iy yi yiiiiiii. When my dad told me his plans, I was like, WT*, Dad?????? :holysheep:
(and yeah, I know I will be the same way when I am older, it's a good thing I know my kids love me now, hope they still do in 30 years time)

Not much happening today. I have to go pick up my contact lenses and if Cait has time for lunch, I might stop in to say hi. The Dr office is 10-15 minutes from her office. She was busy non-stop yesterday so I told her I would come only if she wanted a short break.

Other than that, I might try to get some pictures of the yard and maybe do a little more scrapping.
(and figure out what to cook for dinner but that is an every darn day chore)

@LSlycord I hope that you are able to catch some breezes on the lanai before you start your day. The heat/humidity by you must be awful and relentless.
I sure hope that you are ready for a "normal" :floorlaugh: week this time.
Me too. I like normal. I like boring. I like every day to be the same as the day before.
Do you hear that, Universe????

@vickyday You bet, a new day and new week! We got this!
I hope that you got some good pics of the birds. I am still not seeing hummingbirds very often, I took down my feeder yesterday and washed it all out. I'll put it back up today and see what happens.
heh, racing is one sport I don't understand at all -- round and round and round... LOL
What a fab photo of you and Abby! Have a really fun time with her, I loved spending time with my grandma, we always had fun. (My other grandma was the one who liked my brother better, she was not as fun. Although my brother and I had good times when we were there. Just not the same way)
You have to get a pic of her snuggling with Asher!

@bcgal00 How is the air today, no more smoke? We have the Eastern Canadian smoke again but not as bad as last month. The sky is hazy, but not orange. How are your eyes feeling with the new meds?
The cruise and travel plans are so exciting! This fall cruise, Jen is going with you too, IIRC?
You and D make a great team
I have a huge bag of frozen blueberries and I don't know what to do with them-- besides muffins, any idea what I can do with them? TIA!

@BrightEyes I have done that (design a page falling asleep), or at least, when I wake up I have hazy memories of what I wanted to do but no clear idea. I hope that you slept better last night.
What nice conversations you had with DD#1 and your cousin. I think that is a smart way to prioritize what stories you want to share, especially if you are still scrapping slower than you typically do. (as in -- the same speed as a normal person and still faster than I can in my dreams :floorlaugh: )

@Cherylndesigns I wrote down the name of that medication in my planner next to Gary's appt with the LLMD so I don't forget.
How are you feeling today? I can't imagine how miserable it must feel to cramp like that, especially when it happens when you are trying to sleep. :(
I can see why you don't like spending the entire day at the tournaments, my feet and butt would be hurting too. Next time, take Adrienne up on dropping you off. Not that you will... ;)

@Nonni F Normal. Yeah, I got no clue either. How do you deal with stubborn Italian men? Oh, that's redundant, isn't it? Ha!
Your area is doing ok with flooding still? I have such a mental block with VT and NH, but you are east of VT and VT is shaped like a V. I think. Am I close? Crazy to think that NH is getting tornado warnings. eep.
Hope that the rest of your day was good and that today is as well. BTW, I loved every LO I saw of yours that you scrapped with Lynne's rainbow animals. I didn't want to comment on each and every one cuz that would be stalkerish :D

Big hugs to you all!

I'm glad you mentioned "what to cook for dinner" at the end.....I had not yet taken out meat to thaw!
I love watching the bees and butterflies around the flower, too! They are so busy!
Glad Scott's SAR was successful! I can imagine how scared the hikers must've been!

I'll have to remember to get a pic of Abby and Asher. She is not awake yet. Her mom usually lets the kids sleep in until 10 thru the summer.....I used to do the same. But at 10 it was everybody up and at'em! I can tell she is getting the teenager genes because Abby used to be the first one up, no matter what! We drove an hour away (to where I take the widows) last night for special preaching services and she slept going and coming home, LOL!
I agree with the round and round and round with racing! Not to mention the noise!

Good Morning!
Waiting on my Abby to wake up (or I wake her at 10). Ilene needs me to run her around today. Her daughter has her vehicle at her house so she can run kids back and forth to VBS. She is only 12, but she is taller, or at least as tall as her older sister who will turn 19 next month! She has definitely hit a growth spurt and a sleeping spurt, LOL! She used to be the first one up when she and her brother and sister stayed with us! We went to special preaching services last night an hour away.....where I take Ilene and Carolyn.....and Abby slept going and coming back! And then went to bed when we got home around 10!

That's about it for me. I did get a page scrapped for the AnnaLift challenge that I need to get posted before Abby wakes.

Have a great day!

Good morning.

I finally got a good, no cramps night's sleep. I was wiped out yesterday but feel better today. I might even get dressed - I never did yesterday at all. I got ready to "get ready for bed" last night and I was ALREADY ready. :floorlaugh:

Chris, normal is good - we always say "whatever normal is". I'm going to drink some tea and I'll be back.

I spent most of yesterday scrapping the LO(s) that I had been thinking about the night before. It turned into 4 LOs to tell the story!!! I will be uploading them to Karen Schulz's gallery sometime today. But first, I need to run a couple of errands before it gets too hot... forecast is 105* to 107* in the afternoon!!!

BTW, Chris, I like to make waffles and add blueberries and whipped topping over the syrup... and make thin crepes with blueberries and whipped topping. Also use them in a mixed fruit/nuts salad. Glad Scott's search and recuse turned out so well.

BBL for more personals. HAGD

I have been having leg/foot cramps at night, too. They are the PITS as they hit just as I am falling asleep! Didn't drink enough water yesterday which made them worse and last longer.

I'm sorry you're having them too, Kay. They ARE the pits. You know, that's something I hadn't thought of. When I'm out all day like that, my water intake goes down. I do carry a couple of bottes of water with me, but that's not enough for an 8 hour trek. We got one cup of coffee at Starbucks, but I don't think coffee is sufficient we need water.

Good morning ladies. I am going to be heading out shortly, running errands. Then home to relax for the day. I've got appointments for the rest of the week so I'll enjoy the quiet afternoon at home today. I am going to make a blueberry loaf later.

@faerywings Glad that Scott's first rescue was a happy one. Yes, we are taking Jen with us to the Mediterranean trip. With the blueberries, maybe a loaf (I'm making a blueberry/lemon loaf), pound cake, bars or have yogurt with the fruit. That's an easy one. I love greek yogurt with blueberries and (keto) granola, sometimes with a bit of flavoring like pumpkin or chocolate (extract or sugar free syrup).

@vickyday Hope you think of something yummy for dinner. I'm going super lazy today - grilled cheese for D and ham/boiled egg/greens/pepper salad for me. Then a snack later with the blueberry lemon loaf I'm going to bake today.

@Cherylndesigns I love jammie days. I don't do it often b/c I need to get out with the dogs most days but I enjoy lazing around with my comfy jammies on.

@BrightEyes Yes, Kay, I agree - waffles (or pancakes) with blueberries is so good. I get leg/foot cramps a lot too. I have to make sure to take magnesium every day and lots of water which helps.

I will be looking for some more sleeveless tops. I seem to be going thru another hormonal flux these last few months and read that even tho I have finished with menopause I can go thru another drop in hormones which causes (less severe) hot flashes. I feel warm from within and it lasts almost all day. So as long as I keep my hair short and wear shorts/capris with sleeveless tops or a sundress, it is manageable. It'll be interesting to see how I handle the fall/winter temps.

Time to get dressed and get out of here. HAGD everyone.

Well, got a call from my cousin George.... and we talked for quite awhile. Looked at the temp outside... 94*.... and decided it was too hot already to run my errands so they will have to wait until tomorrow. So I uploaded the 4 page spread to the galleries instead. Glad to have them done!!! :dancing6:dance3dance4

Now it is time to get dressed and have some lunch.

@Cherylndesigns so very good to hear you had a good night!!
@faerywings we are in southern NH... East and South of where the bad flooding is. That's not to say my sump pump hole in the cellar is dry.. but thankfully we aren't like other areas. Poor VT is a mess.
Thank you for your kind words on my Living Color pages. What a fun kit. I never would have thought you were stalkerish. Stalkers are scary. You are hardly scary.
You've all got me wanting blueberry muffins now. I have plenty of blueberries... but they're out in the yard.. and it's once again pouring. Maybe tomorrow.

Lemon and blueberry didn't appeal to me..... until I tried it! LOVE the combo!
I ended up thawing drumsticks and coating them with Bisquick, salt, pepper and a bit of smoked paprika. I baked them at 400 for 30 minutes, rotated them and baked for another 15 minutes. I also roasted the frozen California blend of veggies and boiled some mixed veggies with butter. Mark was a happy camper! We topped supper off with some Rocky Road ice cream. Yum!
